The online check-in feature is rather pointless - I still wasn't able to collect my room key through it as advertised, and had to wait in a long queue because only one person was staffing reception. Once I got to the room, though, things improved. It was clean and perfectly adequate, though a couple of small things felt a bit stingy: water bottles weren't replenished daily (Motel One members get an extra one though) and the air conditioning wasn't very effective, though at least the windows opened. The room itself was dead quiet, fully soundproofed and facing an internal courtyard, so noise was never an issue. Staff were friendly and helpful. The location is a great - everything you need is within walking distance, and taxis/Ubers stop just a minute's walk away (the street's pedestrianised). Overall: great location and a comfortable, quiet room, let down a bit by an inefficient check-in process.
Everything was amazing, only issue was the door handle of my room to get it, very weird to open it and the room blinders, couldn’t close them all the way so I always had some lights in at night! For the rest one of the most beautiful hotel I’ve ever been! We’ll be back in one of your hotel around the world!
Hi this was our second visit to the hotel. Fantastic location the staff are lovey and very helpful. Also enjoyed sitting in the bar area. Our view from our room was amazing. We are looking forward to booking again in the very near future. Many thanks.
One of the worst hotel experiences I've had — amenities and service both fell far short. The room was small, and the bathroom wasn't fully enclosed, so it got soaked every time someone showered. The amenities were the real problem. No kettle, no bottled water, no cups, no tea or coffee, no iron or ironing board — nothing. When I requested for a kettle, staff demanded a 50-euro cash deposit, refusing card payment or any other currency. Despite my booking being made through my company, they wouldn't release the kettle until the deposit was paid — and cash, specifically, which not many travelers carry anymore. I had to borrow money from a colleague just to get a kettle in my room. A kettle and cups should be standard, not something guests have to fight for. To make matters worse, they couldn't refund the deposit the night before checkout, forcing me to deal with it again the next morning. They claimed the money was locked and they have no access to it. Breakfast was mishandled too. I had an early Sunday flight and the hotel couldn't provide an early breakfast. Rather than crediting me for the missed meal, they charged me for a second breakfast I never received. It took two separate corrections with my colleague's help before the charge was fixed. The night staff were the low point - unhelpful. When I asked for assistance for the kettle and refund of deposit, they claimed they "weren't hotel staff" and couldn't do anything. Staff across the board were unfriendly. I returned to the room one day to see the toilet brush left in the toilet bowl. The housekeeping didn't keep it away. The only warm dish served at the buffet breakfast was scrambled eggs. There was no toaster for the bread too. Between the lack of basic amenities, the deposit ordeal, the billing errors, and the dismissive service, this stay was a serious letdown. I would not recommend Cloud One Hamburg to anyone, and I've advised my company to look elsewhere for future stays.
Very convenient location in Edinburgh, close to Royal Mile and train station, bus station and tram and yet very quiet. Very modern, beautiful decor. Pretty, green views from our room. Wonderful breakfast. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and a good size for a city hotel. Bed and pillows were comfy. If anything to improve, could have more luxurious shampoo and lotion products for travelers. Overall. I was very pleased with everything about this hotel.

During my stay, a small electronic game that I play when I travel somehow disappeared from my room. The loss of this device is unsettling because I have yet to determine what else may have been taken. Needless to say this incident clouds, my perception of motel one significantly.

Nice location. Convenient and easy to subway and other sites near by. I was sad to find out that my fridge was not working. I didn’t realize until I took my food out that it was not cold.

Rude staff, elevators that didn't work and carpenters that hold the elevator for 10 min. I was really mad at your staff when I checked in, but then you did a better job and the elevator was working again. It would be nice to have some info about what was going on instead. You didn't want to check us in before 15:00 and that is fine, as long as you give us info about fire alarm training, construction work etc. We had a schedule to follow, since this was a work trip and your rudeness and elevator problems caused a lot of stress. I also felt I was the one who did wrong, when all I did was to try to check-in. I had to go 5 floors up with heavy bags and your staff got angry on me for not want to fill in the damn registration form. You could have asked about all the info before through e-mail. Now I was requested to do it by hand. So please work on your guest service level and information to make this a more smooth stay. Specially don't yell at the guests and be rude, that not OK at all.

Having always stayed at Motel One whenever we are in Glasgow it was nice to be back.As a member I was a bit disapointed that we had to pay two (2) different prices for the two nights we stayed when nothing changed regarding the room or booking

Reception welcome & check in was good. However breakfast service was chaotic. We waited an hour before being seated & another half an hour to be served. Staff were doing their best but kitchen was overwhelmed. Definitely more staff needed. We wasted our time at breakfast & we’re not able to do all we wanted on our last morning in New York.
I am was very impressed on my first stay, and will return. Staff were friendly, and the room was clean, and at a good price.
Excellent and perfectly located hotel in Old Town Edinburgh. Located at the corner of Market and picturesque Cockburn St, which runs up to the Royal Mile, only a couple hundred yards to Waverley Station and the Airlink airport bus, straight across Princes St Gardens from all of the major shopping areas of The New Town. Well-run, clean, and the staff is friendly and efficient. Rooms are adequately sized and a good value for the $ compared to other Old Town options.

Location was very central. Hotel was clean and staff were polite. I would have been happy to see complimentary water bottle, tea and coffe in the room (with a cettle or coffee machine) as in every other hotel.
I was disappointed to only have one bath towel in the room. As a solo traveller, if I am paying the same as two people for a room I expect the same they would get i.e. two towels, two cups in the bathroom. (If you gave two towels to every person maybe I wouldn't mind so much but hand towels are inadequate for long hair. If I have two cups I can use one for my toothbrush and one to drink from.) Your reception staff got me a towel quickly but when I tried to explain the issue just started telling me I was wrong, which isn't really a great way to deal with a customer issue. Then housekeeping removed my second towel and I had to ask again. For reference most hotels I stay in give you the set up for two people which I appreciate given I'm paying the same for the room as two people are. Similarly I booked via your website and BeOne but no mention was made of the complimentary water and I had to ask for that at reception also once I'd checked the email that I hadn't misremembered it as a benefit. I would appreciate an option to not have the TV come on with music and fish every time you come back to the room and put the key card in the slot, it is quite annoying. Other than that I thought the hotel was great, breakfast staff and lounge bar staff were all friendly and helpful. Housekeeping always said hello when you went past. Breakfast food was great. Checkout was efficient. Lifts came quickly.
Great stay, rooms are of a good size and the breakfast provided a good start to the day. Enjoyed the central location.
Refrgirator is missing
I have stayed in this hotel a few times. On this stay the room was far too hot overnight. When I mentioned this to the front desk staff I was given an unrealistic explanation. I suspect the air on system was either faulty or the cooling was turned off as a cost saving exercise.
Hi, we did a last minute booking, because the hotel that we had booked was closed for refurbishment, but we were not informed. The staff at the Motel One were very helpful and friendly and helped us with our booking and we will definitely book again.
The hotel was lovely and I appreciated the Danish Chairs in the lobby, I have a couple of them at home! The bedrooms were comfortable and clean and the bathroom very nice. However the pillows were not great and the towels were absolutely tiny! I get bigger towels given to me every time I go to the gym. One per person was not enough to get fully dry and they took ages to dry off. More were given reluctantly by reception staff. Breakfast was fine, but nothing special, some hot options and more gluten free signage preferred. The reception staff seemed lacking in knowledge, struggling to find extra pillows, towels and toilet paper when required.
Excellent location, short walk to the train station and all city centre shops, restaurants and bar. Modern, tidy & clean with professional and friendly staff, no complaints.

Comfortable stay - Decent facilities friendly staff - what’s not to like?
Very comfortable and clean. Overall rating is excellent. The only thing that disturbs me is that one: I've been in Motel One a lot of times during the last years. Every time I come with my reservation with the same name (of course mine) the employees at the reception ALWAYS ask me (after having seen my name) if this is the first time for me at Motel One... I would like to receive a warm welcome like "happy to see you again here" instead. I can understand that this is a big place, but I don't feel, even if the reservation is made through third parties and not directly by me, to be treated as a valuable and usual guest.
The staff were friendly. The hotel was super clean and the beds very comfortable. The location of the hotel was perfect. We will be staying again!

It's a beautiful hotel in a great location. Everyone on the staff who we encountered was very nice. There's a lounge/bar on the 6th floor and a deli/restaurant/bar downstairs. Our room was tiny, but nothing ridiculous. The room had everything we needed and we were very comfortable. The elevators are extremely small, but nothing can be done about it now!
Reception staff friendly and helpful. I raised a room issue and was immediately offered another room. I appreciated the professional response from the male receptionist in solving this. Good shower , comfy bed and a great location.

A nice, cost-effective location with an excellent river view. Adequately quiet and organized. Great location with a 10-15 walk to the Salzburg HBF and quite walkable from most city attractions. Clean and organized. Not too outstanding but good value for money.

I was staying for whole working week and from those 2 days of suffering and last two without cleaning. Well; this for sure could be better.
