Very good experience all round! We were on the 6th floor. It was quiet, the room was very comfortable and the location perfect furniture central Manchester and for all forms of transportation. We will stay at Motel Royal Exchange again! The only slight small niggle was that the shower lacked any great power.
The service was great, however my key wasn't working originally but the receptionist fixed this issue quickly. I was however dissapointed with the breakfast options as there was no warm options such as English breakfast.
My stay was overpriced and very disappointing.
Very friendly and helpful staff
Very good location. Near to mostly everything. Small rooms. Hope you have bigger for family’s with kids etc. Maybe better cleaning routines. But it is good overall. I asked after new towels and got it delivered in a minute. Can’t complain :)

A very pleasant & relaxing environment, friendly staff, great location. Our room was small but adequate and spotless - lovely bathroom.
Very easy check in process, very nice room, although compact it was very usable. Comfy beds and pillows, very clean and well appointed. Good bathroom and shower. We all went for the breakfast option and it had a great selection of cereals, breads, cold meats, fruit etc, really enjoyed it. Staff were very helpful and allow us to store out luggage post check out so we could do extra exploring of Manchester prior to returning to the airport.
Nice stay
The hotel was in a great location. Unfortunately, the room itself was very disappointing. It was extremely small, the window could not be opened, and the air conditioning did not work properly. The staff fixed it twice, but each time it only worked for a couple of hours before the room became unbearably hot again. We had four rooms in total, and three of them had problems with the air conditioning. The combination of poor ventilation and excessive heat made it almost impossible to sleep. Overall, the location was excellent, but the room conditions seriously affected our stay.
Straightforward check in, room was comfortable and quiet. Generally very clean room. A bathroom fixture (shower rail) was loose but other than that the room seemed to be a good standard.
Lovely friendly reception staff, we were able to leave bags to go shopping before check-in opened at 3pm. Room was really clean, although it was on the small side with only a view of the alleyway, that's why I deducted one mark .The bathroom was lovely, shower was great, bedclothes and towels were like new. Really good sleep.Stayed here as the theatre was just across the road and we were going to see King Lear and the Arndale shopping centre was just yards away.Would definitely stay here again x
Great stay as per usual special thank you to Darren on reception always a credit to yourself Reception on tv in room 734 was intermittent with sound being ok but picture kept stalling. The young lady on reception did try but it needs looking into

Rather old rooms, but mostly the extremely uncomfortable stench in the hall way was absolutely inacceptable. The ventilation in the bathroom also hardly worked, just like the heating/AC in the room itself. The worst Motel One experience I've had so far, especially for that price.

A very functional, friendly and conveniently located hotel. The welcome was friendly. A good bar. The room was compact but comfortable and clean. For a basic hotel it certainly meets or exceeds other budget hotels. First time using motel one, i would use one again.

The hotel is in a great spot for central Manchester, although parking becomes a problem if you've got bags to lump around as this will be a distance from the hotel depending where you end up and will cost £20+ for a night. The rooms are small even though mine was apparently an upgrade? My room was noisy (I expected this it's in a city) and cold (I adjusted the heating control panel but it didn't seem to ever warm up) I had to put clothes back on to sleep - the bedding is very lightweight. The staff are great - I didn't complain about the heating as it was late. The breakfast is okayish - self-serve continental, nothing warm apart from toast, which you make yourself and coffee is via a machine. The morning I used this space was really busy, it's a confined space which wasn't brilliant. I'd suggest if you have the time to skip that and find somewhere more suitable in the town - there are plenty of options.
Fabulous location in Manchester, near the main shopping areas. The hotel is clean and well maintained with a lovely welcoming lobby and bar area. Staff were efficient and helpful. We particularly enjoyed the relaxed self-serve breakfast which had lots of good quality produce and options.
No complaints, other than continental breakfast was great but did not reflect the additional room rate cost of £29 (£14.50 each). Would have equally good choices outside hotel and for what we consumed would have been much less than £14.50 each. Next time we stay will be on room only basis.

Friendly staff, well stocked bar, warm clean bedrooms. The only criticism is that the lounge/bar area was cold.

On the whole very pleased. A couple of niggles: the remote control wasn’t very compatible with the TV. Disappointing to find there were no apps so was unable to stream - despite your website saying you could stream to your tvs. The kettle flex wasn’t long enough to reach the nearest plug socket.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The staff were friendly and supported an early check in. The room was a little small but had everything we needed including a super comfy bed and the most lush shower. I could not fault the location of the hotel at all - we were more central than we could have ever anticipated for the price we paid!

Really comfy bed and great location
We booked a room with a view and breakfast. The view was scaffolding outside and the tram which went all night and kept us awake! The photos of the rooms on the website are actually nothing like what we booked. We hoped for a decent English breakfast but what we had was cold ham, cheese and pastries and cereal. Really disappointed had to pay to go else where to have an English breakfast. Also why are the signs in the bathroom in German?

Motel One Royal Exchange Manchester is my go to location when I visit Manchester, I had to be in Manchester but I was not very well FATIMA at Reception arranged for a heavier duvet to be put in my room helped me find Boots for some medication (Boots is next door :)) Asked how I was feeling the next day thank you Fatima
Great location on a busy street, reasonable and v comfortable with nice decor and lighting. Good transport networks and loads of cafes nearby and a Sainsburys Local opposite. V friendly staff on reception. Room was near the lift (noisy) and was opposite an office about a metre over an alleyway so needed to keep the curtains closed (no nets). Some good sustainability features but no clear instruction about recycling. Tiny wooden teaspoons that made eating porridge or yogurt somewhat slow! On the whole - recommend but choose your room and bring your own teaspoon :)
Really nice branch, staff where nice, and the sleep was very good.
I wasn't impressed finding a man sleeping outside my room snoring wearing only his underpants. Not the kind of experience I was looking for. I was also allocated a room on the first floor so had to keep the curtains closed for Privacy (not great) other than that for an overnight stay the hotel is good.

When in Manchester I usually stay at the Kimpton so wasn't sure what to expect from Motel One but was pleasantly surprised. Rooms were a decent size. nicely furnished, compact and well designed (I've never seen a safe built in to the side of a bedside table. Slick!). The bed was very comfortable and blackout curtains were very effective (so many places don't get this right). The only thing I was missing was a desk/ table in the room. I didn't have breakfast as I felt it was a little over priced for the offering but the coffee was nice. All the staff were professional, relaxed and friendly.

Great location, nice clean room. Very friendly and professional staff, apart from the guys behind the bar! I think they need extra training especially not to throw empty bottles into the bin from a great height! Expensive breakfast, no hot option for £16 .
Excellent stay - lovely, big spacious room and big bed. Great shower (floor just a little slippy), nice big towels. Great AC. Quiet. Staff all really friendly and helpful. Great location. Really nice late checkout offered. Great hotel!
Overall very good stay…… my only issue is I wasn’t asked what my preferred payment method was, I obviously secured the booking with my credit card but didn’t want to pay with that. Payment put on my credit card without my permission. Would have been nice to ask how I want to pay. Staff very friendly on reception and even security chap at 1am was pleasant.

Our Motel One Manchester-Royal Exchange is designed with a trendy faux-industrial look in memory of Manchester’s golden era when it was known as “Cottonopolis”: all about cotton as a raw material and its processing. The foyer is dominated by six-metre high round steel arches and a wall of printed cloth, as a foretaste of our theme. Furniture by Baxter and hanging lamps by Alturo Alvarez are complemented by details such as spools of thread and spinning machines.
The main eye-catcher is a wall installation entitled "Cottonopolis" by paper artist Andy Singleton, composed entirely of shapes cast by innumerable single threads.
Our affordable hotel is situated right opposite the Royal Exchange Theatre in the very heart of Manchester.
