Centrally located and comfortable. We always receive a warm welcome and this time was no different. Fatima ensured that we were checked in quickly; she was very polite, friendly and efficient.
Really great location, the room was really comfortable. Perfect for a 1 night stay.
Value for money, exceptional staff and location, , front rooms you can here trams low noise throughout night , room small but adequate, very dark we had a black wardrobe and we could not see what was in there because of the lighting in fact we used our phone .
From welcome from evie which was wonderful great bed and sleep and great location I’ll staff again !
A really good central location for this modern hotel. Michael the hotel receptionist was excellent, we had a few requests which he was very efficient in helping us with.
Perfect for short city break or business travel. Friendly, helpful staff, clean room, confi bed and decent breakfast.
I love motel one , the staff and just the way they treat you
I put a request about twin beds, when I arrived there they informed me they do not do twin beds, I wish they informed me before I had arrived as I would of booked somewhere else instead, so I felt like I had no other option when I arrived there. I also wish that on the booking email that they would of mentioned that there was parking at the hotel, as we didn’t know this which meant we had to park the car quite a walk away.
I'm normally REALLY impressed with Motel One - being a Be At One member etc and stay regularly for work and for leisure. This stay was marred by no TV coverage in my room. When I brought up at reception, in fairness they did say I could move but I was on way out and had obviously unpacked etc. I returned later and it hadn't been resolved. It's not going to stop me from staying at Motel One, I love the hotels, staff, prices etc but just one detail that made this stay not as perfect as the previous ones.
Central, clean, reasonably priced and staff plesant
Great location, clean room and everything worked fine. All good....apart from the in ap check in which demanded to know my passport details.... I'm a domestic citizen, why?! I don't recall it doing this before, anyway I couldn't be bothered with the faff.
Great staff and great location
I had been a little disappointed by the facilities in the room - normally there have been two cups in the room, only for there just to be the one. Having two cups had enabled me to have a cup of tea and the other to drink water. With just the one cup I couldn't make a cup of tea without having the cup also having a tea aftertaste when I also wanted to drink water. I can understand the need to be more eco friendly, however, this was an issue for me. Also, I have found on my last few visits (actually most of them), the hard-boiled eggs do not peel at all well, and a substantial part of the egg (white part) coming away in big clumps, to mainly leave the yolk. This has rarely happened all the other times I have eaten full-boiled eggs.
Cleanliness and staff interactions were good as always but the power cut out in the room overnight and didn't turn back on in the morning. Was checking out that day so not a huge inconvenience but still not ideal.
Lovely hotel, lovely city and the staff on reception were great. Shame we were only there for one night.
Very good location to shops and bars in the city centre. Staff very helpful, bed was comfortable and room was clean.
Great service and friendly staff. We felt very welcomed and at home. The central location was great for access to bars and venues. I’d definitely stay again.
Always a great stay, staff lovely and rooms clean
Very friendly staff, who answered all questions and provided good advice regarding placing to eatm
Excellent location and friendly staff, but room could have been cleaner
Lovely clean room, comfy bed, friendly staff, perfect location.
Everything fine no problems
Always a pleasant welcome at the hotel from the lovely staff. Room is always clean and tidy, beds are comfy and great location
Central location, clean, quiet and comfortable rooms, excellent value for money, helpful and efficient staff on reception.
Staff very happy & welcoming. Room was spotless and quiet. Breakfast was excellent 👍
Great location, clean and comfortable room, lovely decor in hotel reception and bar area.
Great value for money, friendly staff and comfortable rooms. Marked two points off because our room wasn't serviced after the first night's stay (stayed for two nights)
Hotel is very central, beautifully furnished in a modern style and very well maintained. The staff is out of this world, so friendly and nothing they will not do to help.
Good location, nice and clean room and hotel in general. The staff was really nice, particularly Darren at reception who gave us a warm welcome and also the staff at the bar where we stopped one night for a drink. I would recommend it.
Great location, friendly staff, comfy bed an very clean.
Good value for money. Clean rooms. And a shout-out to the very friendly staff responsible for breakfast (Mario and his colleagues)!
This hotel was clean and comfortable. Staff are friendly and helpful
Excellent service, location and value
The room was lovely wi fi a bit temperamental and the bar area and location is sperb
Everything is wonderful, the place, the location but above all. A caring team that have made my families stay wonderful. I have had the pleasure of meeting most of the team, from the cleaning people, to reception, bar, security. Everyone does an absolutely marvellous job. I can't stress enough how I credible they all are. One of those experiences that are so good you mention them every time someone says they will be travelling to Manchester.
Very helpful staff everywhere, swift clearing of breakfast tables. A very easy hotel to stay in!
Great location and helpful staff
Really enjoyed our recent stay at Motel One. Really welcoming staff and lovely bar area.
An absolutely amazing hotel, very close to many attractions and the Arndale shopping centre. Rooms are spacious enough, very clean and the staff is very friendly. I would definitely recommend this place and obviously if I have to visit Manchester again this is my go to place.
Hairs on floor Didnt feel clean Bedding felt damp need more secure locks on door for females travelling alone
Clean, stylish, comfortable and very friendly staff.
Excellent location for the centre of Manchester. Simple check in with very helpful team at the reception desk. Great room, good size and all the amenities you could want. Fantastic towels!!!
Perfect for our city centre break
I stayed for 5 nights in a 1st floor room. I didn't sleep properly all week as the room was too noisy due to street noise and the room temperature was too hot. I was staying here for business and the room didn't have a desk available to use in it. I won't stay at this hotel again. The breakfast area was also not well managed. There are only boiled eggs available to have a hot breakfast and they often ran out. The breakfast area was also often left extremely messy with limited tables available. I was also charged on arrival despite my company prepaying ahead. I challenged the member of staff about this at the time but they said I had to pay. I did receive a refund but having a battle about payment on arrival is not acceptable.
excellent position, beautiful and large room fully accessoried.
We booked parking several weeks in advance. When I rang up the night before our booking to confirm the postcode, we were told that we couldn’t actually use the carpark because it was ‘under maintenance’. The member of staff told us to park in the Arndale car park but we chose to book train tickets as the reviews for that place are awful and we wanted secure car parking. This meant we were left out of pocket and ultimately, had we not rang up, we’d have been none the wiser. No communication at all. During our stay, there were also drunk people running up and down the corridor screaming and shouting at 4am. We struggled to get back to sleep after that so hardly had any real rest at all. Facilities were OK but the only upshot really was the location. We’ve stayed in other hotels nearby for less and therefore won’t book here again.
Very comfortable and clean hotel. Staff very helpful and friendly. When we visit Manchester we will always choose to stay here. Recommended to our friends and family
The hotel was good. Comfortable room and nice bar area. Bathroom was really nice. However, (aware it's circumstances rather than the hotels fault) I was on the first floor and woken regularly during the night with guests coming back to their room. If you're a light sleeper maybe ask for a room further away from the lifts or a higher floor.
There is not a lot I can say from checking in to checking out everything was first class
Great value for money, clean, modern, good location and friendly staff. Would have preferred draught beer from bar and always like an iron in the room but understand why there isn’t.

Location and surroundings
Hotel Manchester Royal Exchange
Our Motel One Manchester-Royal Exchange is designed with a trendy faux-industrial look in memory of Manchester’s golden era when it was known as “Cottonopolis”: all about cotton as a raw material and its processing. The foyer is dominated by six-metre high round steel arches and a wall of printed cloth, as a foretaste of our theme. Furniture by Baxter and hanging lamps by Alturo Alvarez are complemented by details such as spools of thread and spinning machines.
The main eye-catcher is a wall installation entitled "Cottonopolis" by paper artist Andy Singleton, composed entirely of shapes cast by innumerable single threads.
Our affordable hotel is situated right opposite the Royal Exchange Theatre in the very heart of Manchester. The Town Hall, Manchester Cathedral, Manchester Arena and the Manchester Central Convention Complex are within walking distance, and both Victoria and Manchester Piccadilly stations are within easy reach.
Visit us in Manchester and find out about the centre of the cotton trade.

Cool Cotton
Classic British furniture, paper sculptures and more will transport you to "Cottonopolis" - 19th century Manchester.

Cutting Edge
Paper artist Andy Singleton has proven a steady hand for Motel One Manchester-Royal.
