Service great, facilities worked well, bar drinks were well made. Mattress was a little broken.
Clean , comfortable , easy access to where I needed too go
Staff were super helpful and friendly, especially Fatima on Reception. Rooms had everything you needed. Bed was very comfortable and bathroom was great too. Overall an excellent stay at this hotel.
Location is great! All staff are really welcoming and friendly. The room was comfortable and clean. This hotel is always our go to when we stay in Manchester for this reason.
Great hotel with friendly staff. Would have scored a 10 but the shower had someone elses long hair around the drain.
The lighting in the room was working, but overall the room seemed quite dark even though it had large windows. A table lamp on the desk would be a useful addition.
Fantastic hotel for the price that we paid Great location Efficient staff
Hotel was nice and clean. Breakfast was a big let down though.
The room was clean and tidy. The staff were polite. The only reason I gave an overall score of 9 was because 2 of the bathroom tiles were loose and was very squeaky.
my stay was fine, thank you. the room was clean and comfortable.
I absolutely love staying in a Motel One hotel. The comfort and cleanliness is always to such a high standard. Royal Exchange is in a fabulous location with the city, yet you hear no outside noise once in your room. The staff are very friendly and professional too. Motel One is always my preferred 'go to'
Nice hotel, great location and I'd definitely stay again. Friendly helpful staff. Good value for money. Lovely choice of items on continental breakfast. A few points that could be improved: No bin in bedroom (only in bathroom). No desk in bedroom to work from. Breakfast was chaotic - no logic to how things are laid out. I had to ask where the plates, bowls, glasses were. I couldn't find the orange juice. The layout of the breakfast bar and seating made the area restricted and congested with guests - most of whom were struggling to find items like I was.
Lovely helpful staff only criticism was bed too close to window to get to bathroom
Great location, staff were fantastic and room was great.
Check-in was friendly and smooth, room v comfortable, staff just fine, breakfast too and the cost - for a booking kindly arranged for me by a local arts organisation, but I knew of the rate - was also very good. I've stayed before several times, equally satisfyingly, and I would definitely stay at Motel One Royal Exchange again. (It's also easy to get to via fee city bus no. 2 to King Street - just discovered this! Next time I'll figure out how to get back to Manchester Piccadilly train station via free bus...)
My only serious criticism is that the polished bathroom floor and the black shower tray, whilst very stylish, are particularly slippery when wet, which in a bathroom is dangerous. Having once walked into a hotel bathroom with a similar polished floor, slid on the cotton bathmat and cut my head open on the door handle behind me as I fell, I know how serious an issue this can be. I'm surprised your designer made such an error with their choice of tiling and shower design. For elderly guests, I could imagine them feeling insecure and at risk in the bathroom. Otherwise, the hotel was convenient, comfortable and had good amenities.
We absolutely love staying here, always look to book when we come to Manchester
Only in hotel 1 night but pleasant as always.
Room was quite bleak and not very clean, had to move rooms due to foul smell, staff did help us to move rooms. Air conditioning was a blessing in the heatwave but room did not look as good as I had thought online
The receptionist was very helpful and happy check in was quick and easy. We were so called upgraded but it was to an accessible room which felt too clinical and not a cosy room. Also the tv didn’t work properly we’re unable to get the basic channels
The hotel was very clean and the staff were helpful , the location was perfect .
Good service, smiling people.
Lovely clean room, polite staff, great location
Exc Excellent as always
Couldn't have been more central if you tried! Great breakfast right next door at Pret.
Great first impressions - warm greeting on arrival, hotel was clean and in a great location. The young lady on the reception desk checked me in. She was very professional and the process was smooth and hassle free - she is a credit to the team. My room was spacious and the bed was very comfy. I had a great night sleep - the air con was a blessing. Would 100% visit again when I visit Manchester
So friendly
The Motel One model provides a service which covers all your needs in an efficient and effective way with the bonus of all staff being very helpfull - nothing is a problem. The room staff are very courteous and provide an excellent service on a daily basis. The athmosphere is at all times welcoming - with a smile.
A great experience, easy check in and a good central location for Manchester City centre.
Best location… everything right there at your doorstep. Front desk staff, along with everyone else were amazing. Helpful, kind and knowledgeable.
Very lovely and clean hotel. Perfect location. I wish the room had an iron and ironing board. I asked for one at reception but I was told to bring it back down as soon as possible.
Good location
Helpful, Friendly professional staff
Great value for money. Modern and clean bedroom, bar and reception. Would definitely stay there again.
Great stay. Friendly staff, nice bar area, good location, clean rooms, little bit on the small side but does the job and excellent value for money!
Great hotel, perfect location. Compact room but has everything and good quality. Very clean. Helpful reception staff.
Excellent position in the city centre, really convenient. Hotel rooms lovely and clean - air con was excellent!!
Great hotel. Nice room and comfy bed. Breakfast was lovely.
We have stayed at several Motel 1,s and never had any complaints at all. The service from start to finish was excellent. A very clean and tidy hotel, room was fantastic with the joy of air conditioning and the beds were very comfy indeed.
Hotel is in a central location, and a good base for exploring the city. The staff were very friendly and very welcoming upon check in. The room was a good size, it was also very clean and tidy. We would definitely recommend.
The Hotel was extremely clean had all the facilities we required comfortable bed.
Great location and a good price. The lobby area was pleasant and all the staff were helpful. Unfortunately the TV in my room was not working and the front door was very difficult to close.
Quality room, bath room, great location, very friendly and helpful people, want to highlight Costel who helped me on various matters.
My first visit to Royal Exchange. Motel One is always comfortable, clean and quiet. Reception staff are friendly and welcoming.
Very welcoming and accommodating guests. Great location.
Air conditioning wasn't working properly and would have appreciated a bottle of water as a complimentary gesture
Mike (Michael) your receptionist who checked me in, is a credit to your company. Polite, kind and thoughtful.
the most wonderful atmosphere, lovely staff, lovely room, fab shower, never had a heated base before, amazing mattress and pillows best night sleep i have ever had in a hotel
Stay was good until I could smell cigarette smoke on several occasions in my room. I contacted reception who advised security would walk the corridor but I asked to move rooms from my 1st floor room, I was given a 6th floor room. I had to move all my items without assistance, although the reception were helpful, but late at night was not a good experience
Room was dirty tv never worked on arrival and bed covers covered in stains

Location and surroundings
Hotel Manchester Royal Exchange
Our Motel One Manchester-Royal Exchange is designed with a trendy faux-industrial look in memory of Manchester’s golden era when it was known as “Cottonopolis”: all about cotton as a raw material and its processing. The foyer is dominated by six-metre high round steel arches and a wall of printed cloth, as a foretaste of our theme. Furniture by Baxter and hanging lamps by Alturo Alvarez are complemented by details such as spools of thread and spinning machines.
The main eye-catcher is a wall installation entitled "Cottonopolis" by paper artist Andy Singleton, composed entirely of shapes cast by innumerable single threads.
Our affordable hotel is situated right opposite the Royal Exchange Theatre in the very heart of Manchester. The Town Hall, Manchester Cathedral, Manchester Arena and the Manchester Central Convention Complex are within walking distance, and both Victoria and Manchester Piccadilly stations are within easy reach.
Visit us in Manchester and find out about the centre of the cotton trade.

Cool Cotton
Classic British furniture, paper sculptures and more will transport you to "Cottonopolis" - 19th century Manchester.

Cutting Edge
Paper artist Andy Singleton has proven a steady hand for Motel One Manchester-Royal.
