This was our second stay and it was everything we needed. Great location, incredibly comfortable bed, great shower and a really lovely continental breakfast. Will be using again 😊👍
Really nice and clean hotel, staff on reception were really polite and friendly, the hotel was well presented and it was so quiet at night despite being central, bed was comfy, bathroom was clean and good size with massive shower! Really good value for money would 100% stay here again.
Great first time visit to the Motel One on Cross Street. Check-in was quick, efficient and friendly, and everything was as expected in the room.
Excellent value for money hotel right in the centre of Manchester. Room was a good size and nice and clean. Bathroom was good but shower tray is very slippery and a bit of a health hazard, did not impact on stay but just something to be careful with. Staff were friendly and welcoming from start to finish. Would definitely stay again.
Lovely staff, great check in and out times. Very central. Clean and tidy. Extra bonus of air con in a heatwave and luggage storage
Great location Friendly and helpful staff Good value
The staff are always very friendly and welcoming. I really enjoy staying here, the level of cleanliness and helpfulness is very high !
Double bed but only 2 pillows??,reported bathroom sink slow to drain away, apart from that, still great place to stay and I have booked again for next month
Excellent standards in all departments. Friendly helpful team.
stayed at Motel One Royal Exchange in Manchester for the last 20 days, and throughout my stay, I have been very happy with the staff and the way they have treated me. I would especially like to appreciate Fatim at reception for her kindness, professionalism, and excellent customer service. She has always been friendly, helpful, and welcoming.
Great central hotel. Friendly staff. Good working aircon was a godsend. Comfortable beds and very clean. The only reasons it lost a point was because the TV screen saver kept coming on if it's own accord and woke me at 4.30 in the morning. And I was only given one hand towel and we women like one to wrap the hair and one for drying hands.
The room itself was basic and felt very budget. The shower tray felt flimsy underfoot, the coffee was served in plastic cups rather than proper mugs, and the overall finish lacked quality. The biggest issue, however, was privacy. Despite the door being locked, a member of housekeeping entered my room without warning while I was inside. This was extremely uncomfortable and completely unacceptable. Although the hotel apologised afterwards, it should never have happened in the first place. Overall, I left feeling that the hotel prioritises keeping costs down over guest comfort and attention to detail. I won’t be staying here again.
Friendly and efficient reception team. Our room with a view had all the amenities for the stay and was extremely clean. The bed was exceptionally comfortable with crisp white bedding adding to a great sleep. It was so hot in the city and we were so pleased with the air conditioning as it worked a treat!
My second stay her, perfect location, staff excellent. Room is good size, basic but the AC worked. Kettle available in room. Which is not always the norm these days. Thanks to everyone.
Great value for money. Quiet room, comfy bed, nice bar area.
We booked a double king size room and we had 2 single beds pushed together. It was sad to see as we have stayed with this hotel allot of times and when we complained about our uncomfortable sleep the manager basically said nothing he can do. It was false advertisement of the room and the single mattresses devided through the night making this very uncomfortable for me and my partner. Unfairly treated upon complaint. Wouldn’t recommend staying in the future and would like to take this matter allot further as we paid for a service we did not receive.
Fabulous stay and very comfortable room would definitely go back.
Highlights included the location, the lounge and bar area, onsite parking and Michael the receptionist, who was very helpful and has a very kind way about him.
Perfect location, and the room was spotless , Modem hotel , Huge thanks to the staff for their kindness and the warm welcome, definitely will be my 1st choice for my next trip to Manchester
Very clean, good breakfast, convenient parking, good value, arrival & departure times very convenient, staff friendly & helpful, free newspapers.
Great location. Speedy check-in and out. Clean rooms and communal areas. Polite and friendly staff. The only negative thing I have to say is that there were a couple of drunk girls in the lounge bar later in the evening using foul language, quite loudly, which we found offensive. We moved to the another area of the lounge but feel that the bar staff should have approached them to ask them to be considerate to other guests.
Brilliantly located, very good value for money for such a central location. Exceptionally clean, bed was comfy and linen soft. Room was quite small but adequate for us. Didn't eat or drink in the lounge but looked lovely and plenty of people in there.
Excellent central location, good value for money
Great Location & Wonderful Stay travelled from Sydney, and unfortunately, my husband had food poisoning when we arrived. We were so grateful that the hotel is right next to a clinic where he was able to see a doctor immediately. There’s also a Boots pharmacy just downstairs, which is similar to Chemist Warehouse in Australia, so we could get his medication straight away. The location is fantastic—close to everything, including clothing stores and some great restaurants like Hawksmoor, The Cathedral, Old Wellington, and many more. It made Manchester a perfect base for us while travelling to other parts of Europe. The accommodation itself was clean and comfortable, with free Wi-Fi, a decent bed, and good pillows. The standard room is on the smaller side, but it was perfectly fine for us as we were out most of the day. We also felt comfortable leaving our belongings behind while travelling elsewhere. A special mention to Nyle, who was incredibly accommodating and responsive. He was always quick to help and made sure our needs were taken care of. Overall, we had a great stay and would happily recommend this place!
The receptionist who checked us in was very friendly and very courteous. We found the room to be all it said it would and was very very comfortable
The people in the service was so friendly
Really great hotel in a fab location. Close to everything you need. The only downside for me were the mattress was clearly overused on one side which made it a little too soft and no extractor fan in the barroom. All that being said. Fantastic staff, great breakfast, very clean and would definitely book again
One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in, all your needs is nearby, definitely coming back
Great location. Staff very friendly and helpful.
lovely room nice shower and very clean
Great location and friendly staff
From arrival to departure everything was perfect. The hotel is in a great location for restaurants and bars. The rooms so airy and immaculately clean and comfortable
The property was adequate for what we needed. The experience was friendly and easy going.
Great hotel in the centre of Manchester.
Incredible room for the price. Second time I have stayed here as the location is fantastic for city centre. The hotel is immaculately clean. Rooms have everything you need and the comfiest bed. Staff are super friendly. Can recommend more highly.
Everything clean and tidy. The rooms were beautiful and very quiet
Excellent value for money, perfect position for shopping and eateries. Beautiful hotel, only faults are... the room was very small and there's no hanging space or storage, but apart from that it's a gorgeous place.
Motel One Manchester- Royal Exchange is a great favourite of mine in the city centre. It’s all about the staff who are truly exceptional. If you’re looking for a traditional cooked breakfast, you won’t find one here, thankfully, but the continental selection, including meats, cheeses, hummus, tomatoes and cucumber is just the best. My only disappointment this time was my room. It’s an old building and so the rooms can be odd shapes. Whoever designed my Special One with a View made a mess of it as the dead space made what is usually a good sized Special One, feel cramped. The foot of the bed was too near the window, making it too difficult to get from one side of the room to the other. The receptionist was extremely helpful and offered to move me but I couldn’t face the upheaval. It didn’t detract from my enjoyment of the hotel overall but I was a bit disappointed by my room this time.
Enjoyed our stay, great location. Nice staff. Breakfast was reasonable. I would definitely come back if ever visiting Manchester again
Excellent experience at the right price
Clean, and modern decor. Paid extra 10 pounds for more space however was in a box so was surprised that's what I got for more money tbh. I also wish the parking was more controlled was extremely hard to get out.
Great location and very helpful staff
Staff were most helpful after a bit of a hiccup initially
Well located modern hotel in the centre of Manchester. Fully air conditioned too which is very welcome during the Summer. Friendly staff. Will definitely return.
The staff are always friendly, polite, well informed and professional. I enjoy staying at this hotel very frequently.
Great location along with the usual comfy rooms, friendly staff and relaxing bar. What’s not to like about Motel One?
A lovely hotel in a great location. I had not heard of this chain of hotels before, but we needed somewhere to stay in the centre of Manchester for three nights and this represented great value for money and it had parking. It was much more than that though. Parking is £25 a day but you would pay that at any city centre car park and it was onsite and secure. When we arrived I popped in to the reception to ask how to access the car park and a lovely member of the reception team came with me to show us where it was and to open the secured gate for us. Once we were safely parked we got the lift up one level to reception, we checked in and were given our room key. The room was not huge but it had everything we needed for a weekend stay, a large bed, one comfy chair, a small table with tea and coffee making facilities, a safe, a large tv which defaults to tropical fish swimming around when first turned on and a decent bathroom with a walk in shower. We didn't have the room serviced whilst we were there so we replenished our supply of teabags and milk from reception when required. The hotel itself is bright and modern with lots of comfy seating. A large reception desk was always manned so we never had to wait to be served. There is also a large bar which we took advantage of on our return on two of the nights. The staff were always friendly and helpful amidst all the comings and goings of a busy city centre hotel. It's the ideal place to stay and we wouldn't hesitate to return to this hotel when we are next in Manchester.
We've stayed at this hotel both times we've visited Manchester and would absolutely stay here again. The staff are really friendly and ready to help with any questions or problems. The room was really spacious and cleaned well each day.
Always stay here when in Manchester. Great location, cleanliness of rooms constantly very good and all staff from front of house to cleaning staff helpful and very polite. Would recommend.
My 2nd time visiting this hotel and I think it's great. The prices, value, service, friendliness and cleanliness are great. I must give special credit to Georgina on reception and Mario (Bar Manager) who I thought were fab. For me, the bed was too low and too soft - my wife however thought her bed was perfect. I would have liked there to have been decaffeinated tea and coffee available, and skimmed or semi-skimmed milk. But I will be back!

Hotel Manchester Royal Exchange
Our Motel One Manchester-Royal Exchange is designed with a trendy faux-industrial look in memory of Manchester’s golden era when it was known as “Cottonopolis”: all about cotton as a raw material and its processing. The foyer is dominated by six-metre high round steel arches and a wall of printed cloth, as a foretaste of our theme. Furniture by Baxter and hanging lamps by Alturo Alvarez are complemented by details such as spools of thread and spinning machines.
The main eye-catcher is a wall installation entitled "Cottonopolis" by paper artist Andy Singleton, composed entirely of shapes cast by innumerable single threads.
Our affordable hotel is situated right opposite the Royal Exchange Theatre in the very heart of Manchester. The Town Hall, Manchester Cathedral, Manchester Arena and the Manchester Central Convention Complex are within walking distance, and both Victoria and Manchester Piccadilly stations are within easy reach.
Visit us in Manchester and find out about the centre of the cotton trade.

Cool Cotton
Classic British furniture, paper sculptures and more will transport you to "Cottonopolis" - 19th century Manchester.

Cutting Edge
Paper artist Andy Singleton has proven a steady hand for Motel One Manchester-Royal.
