Clean. Good shower although shower floor a little slippy. Like the coffee cups provided in the rooms. Please could you offer a non-dairy milk option in the rooms. The fire alarm at 4.15 am was confusing as it stopped quite quickly.
After a long journey it’s always refreshing to be met with a cheerful welcome at any hotel . At Motel One they have it in spades and my wife and I were made very welcome following a long day’s travel from the west of Scotland. Our hotel location in the centre of Manchester made getting about on foot very easy with access to local places of interest and restaurants. The hotel staff were always professional and approachable for assistance throughout our stay.
Fatima on reception was brilliant as always (i stay about once a month) and the staff at breakfast very polite. My Room was a bit small, but i was only there for an overnight, so was no big deal. Did not see any Gluten free options at breakfast-is this something you do ? .Also a few months ago there was some cooked breakfast items available but not seen this since, was this just a one off? Breakfast is a wee bit pricey for a continental selection-compared with Premier Inn for example. Great location
Ideal for business trips - clean, with attentive and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast choices. Room was a little on the cramped side and stuffy, despite aircon. The signal on the TV was poor and the picture kept breaking up.

I was very impressed with my stay at Motel One. I stayed one night for a work conference. During the night I was taken ill. I called up reception the next morning to request an extension on my check out time as I wasn’t feeling well enough to check out by 12. The lady at the front desk was so kind and accommodating. She immediately checked with house-keeping and confirmed I could stay until 3pm! She even offered hot lemon water and told me to call down any time if I needed anything. I really appreciated the kindness and willingness to help when I was feeling so unwell. 10/10. Thank you for making an otherwise horrible stay a little better.
Fantastic location, close to the shops and train station, yet not noisy, so we were not disturbed in the night at all. Clean and modern aesthetics, friendly staff, we were made to feel welcome as soon as we stepped through the door. Love that check out isn't until 12 so your morning doesn't feel rushed. We were able to safely leave our luggage there after checking out so we could shop without hauling heavy luggage around with us. Will definitely stay here again. The friendly staff really are a credit to the company.
Great hotel, fantastic location, but breakfast was a let-down (ran out of tea-bags and the replenishment was non-existent), very few hot food options, a little chaotic, nowhere to sit (we had to sit in the bar-lounge area).

Firstly I must say that Fatima that works in the reception is a huge asset to your hotel & always goes above & beyond to sort any issues out with the room & booking a taxi she is brilliant it any at her job. On a downside the bar used to be one of my favorite places to chill & have a couple of drinks in there but not so much lately as I find the regular Barman quite rude & not interested so now I drink outside of the hotel. I’m a very regular returning guest to your hotel at least 10 times a year over the last 8 years so I love your hotel it’s just the Bar that needs to improve. Russ from Jersey

Very nice, modern and clean room. effective aircon is a huge bonus. the meeting room in the lobby is well appointed and peaceful, good location and easy to get to.
Second time stay and it was excellent. Location is near to shops and arena with lots of great restaurants on the door step.

Great customer service. Went to hotel an hour or so early to see if they had a bag drop and was allowed access to room as it was ready. Really nice welcome suprise. Great, clean and peaceful hotel. Would stay again.
Ideally situated near the main shopping area and a short walk from the numerous bars and restaurants of central Manchester. Friendly staff and welcoming common parts. The rooms are small though well equipped and clean. Breakfast is continental which will not be to some people’s tastes though it is adequate with a good selection. I book a view room (311 this time) and enjoyed my 2 day stay apart from the person in the next room having a phone ping message receipts from 6am.
Stayed a few times. Booked 'special one' not worth the extra. Room was smaller that nor.al and bed was very uneven. Mattress seriously needing replacement.

Always enjoy staying at Morel One, Royal Exchange in Manchester. But please, hotter showers! Water always lukewarm.
I like this hotel as it is waking distance to the shops, restaurants and the major train stations. The bedrooms are extremely comfortable and clean. (Not a big fan of the short cable kettles or the plastic cups though) The staff are extremely lovely. Especially Fatima, Georgia, Mo, Eve, Nile and Michael on reception. Lovely Matthew makes fatantastic coffees. Mario and Andrea's (Sorry if that is the wrong spelling) are very good at the cocktails. I will be definitely staying again very soon. Thanks guys. X

Friendly welcome and comfortable room. Breakfast was plentiful and all areas were clean and tidy. Great location less than 15 mins from station

Hotel reception was lovely. Room was nice and clean, I would recommend more milk for the hot drinks though. The room was much smaller than we were expecting, even though it was clean and functional.

Lovely hotel
This is the second time we have stayed at Motel One, Royal Exchange. We like the location near tram stops and lots of bars and restaurants. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
A number of points about the booking and stay were disappointing and hence the score of 4, and whether I would stay at the hotel again or recommend to others. We booked the room as we were visiting Manchester to attend a concert on Saturday evening. Unbeknown to us it was the weekend of the Manchester Marathon and as such the price of the room was somewhat inflated! I booked the room in advance with the option to cancel nearer to the time if necessary. A week before the stay I wanted to the cancel the room however I couldn't find a booking confirmation in my email to cancel the room. When I received the check in email on Thursday evening with the booking confirmation I went to cancel online but wasn't able to do so. Following a phone call with the reservations team I was informed that the cancellation policy of cancelling the room up to 6pm on the day of check-in did not apply this weekend and the room had to be cancelled 3 days before, otherwise a 90% charge would be applicable. Despite me explaining that I had not received a confirmation email at the time of booking and therefore had no booking details so I was unable to find the reservation number, the operator said it was not possible to cancel. Therefore as I did not want to pay £250 to cancel the room, we stayed. On check-in the reception staff were friendly and check-in was quick. The room was clean and tidy, however the cushions on the bed were damp and highly fragranced, I'm guessing from fabric deodoriser, which was very overpowering. When we went to have a shower the lights in the bathroom didn't work and whilst the reception team did get them back working, when we returned at night we experienced a problem with them coming on and it took repeated efforts of taking the room key in and out before they came on - which was very frustrating. In addition there was an extremely strong smell of marijuana on the hotel corridor which was extremely unpleasant, and could be smelt through the door. I don't usually complain or write reviews, but I feel for the cost of the stay, which was £270, it felt the room or our experience was not reflective of the price paid.

We were greeted warmly at reception and our bags were taken as we were a bit early for the room. Did a bit of shopping, got key and found that the room was very comfy and clean. Great breakfast next morning! Will definitely stay again. !
Perfect stay if you want something high end and cost effective and ticks all the core fundamentals of a great city centre hotel. Good service. Great beds. Convenient location.
Clean modern and great location
We’ve stayed at this location multiple times. It’s a great location, staff is always friendly and the rate is very reasonable. It’s always clean, comfortable and well presented. The bar area is lovely and always a good vibe. We have friends who come to Manchester all the time too and they now book this hotel each stay.

The water in the shower was not hot enough. Coffee at breakfast tasted off, and could not toast my bread. No gluten free options. Bathroom was noisy at night, so was bedroom due to tram at night.
The room was nice but there was an overwhelming smell of artifical room freshener. It was like there was a plug in smell or coming through the air con system that just could not be turned off. It was over powering and very artificial which was off putting. As I did not get to the hotel until 10pm, it was not worth the hassle of changing rooms. Room 335

Det rå og industrielle design på vores Motel One Manchester-Royal Exchange er inspireret af byens fortid som landets bomuldshovedstad, også refereret til som "Cottonopolis": Her drejer alt sig om bomuld og den industrielle bearbejdning af det populære materiale. Straks i indgangsområdet mødes du således af en seks meter høj stålbue og en væg beklædt med et bomuldsinspireret kunstværk trykt på lærredsstof. Ud over møbler fra Baxter og pendellamper fra Alturo Alvarez understeges bomuldstemaet også af små designdetaljer som garnspoler og historiske symaskiner.
Et højdepunkt udgøres i den forbindelse af væginstallationen "Cottonopolis" af papirkunstneren Andy Singleton, hvor mange løse tråde tilsammen danner ordet Cottonopolis.
Vores billige hotel ligger lige over for Royal Exchange Theatre i centrum af Manchester. Rådhuset, Manchester Cathedral, Manchester Arena og Manchester Central Convention Complex kan uden problemer nås til fods. Herudover er der ganske praktisk heller ikke langt til stationerne Victoria og Manchester Piccadilly.
