Very well placed hotel with clean, but very small, rooms
Gutes Hotel in Top Lage
The hotel was ok, but the unjustifiable fact that we had no internet and no television for two (!!!) days was extremely disappointing.
- WIFI and TV cannot use. -
Check in and check out process was fast and without any issues. Room was quiet and clean. Breakfast excellent as always in Motel One hotels
Very central location, breakfast can be busy, only thing missing is the bodylotion in the bathroom
TOP Lage, TOP Personal
I had a very pleasant stay at Motel One Dresden-Palaisplatz. The environment is friendly and welcoming, and the staff speaks English, which made communication easy throughout my visit. The hotel is calm, comfortable, and very clean. The breakfast was good with a nice variety, and the location is also convenient with a fair price. Offering the option of two separate single beds in double rooms would be a helpful improvement, as this would better suit different types of travelers. At check-in, I was not informed about the city map that was available and only noticed it at check-out. It would have been helpful to receive this information upon arrival. Overall, still a very good experience and I would consider staying here again.
Good location, most of interesting museums near by.
Everything was ok.
There was a hair stuck at one of the pillow, and another in one of the bathroom towels. Curtains look old and dirty. Reception forgot to give me my water and I had to request for it the next day. One of your staff knocked very loudly on my door on check-out day, and walked away when I opened my door. I opened my door again and see her around and ask her why she knocked on my door and she said she cannot understand English. I assumed she was asking about my check-out so I said 12pm since it was listed as 12pm on Google. She knocked at 9am, 3 hours before check-out. Do you need to disturb customers 3hours before check-out?
I had booked parking and only when I arrived was I informed that the parking was full. Giving a bottle of water at the reception is rediculous. Should be a daily complimentary service in the room - this is not a low cost. Breakfast area where the food is should be redisigned can get really croudy. Very small room and what is meant by "with view" is really subjective, as my view was not a nice view.
Good value....room size adequate for a single traveller. Clean and comfortable. Friendly staff
Very nice hotel atmosphere with clean, yet tiny rooms/ bathrooms. Very welcoming staff and friendly bar atmosphere inviting for relaxing.
Sightseeing
We stood 01.-03-05.26 in Room 033. The room was very annoying. Climate control not yet working, despite asking for it at reception. Opening the window was de-facto impossible, as the smoke and discussion noice of all these smokers direct in front of the room went straight into the room. The smell of the smoke was really frustrating and created a bad feeling about the hotel and especially the stay in room direct located near-by the smoking area.
In general, everything is fine and I regularly visit the hotel. There was just one issue: the different weather conditions in times of climate change. If you ask your visitors to keep the windows closed (to keep out insects), you HAVE TO enable the air condition depending on the weather, not on calendar dates. A number of room windows, such as mine, are exposed almost plainly to the South, and this weekend, there was full sunshine with temperatures up to 28 °C. Given the small size of the rooms, they heat up pretty quickly. There needs to be a way to cool them down, even before the end of May. Apart from that, everything was fine, as usual. Thanks go out to the staff working there.
The hotel is beautifully situated in the heart of Dresden. The room was wonderfully appointed. The design is great, using every possible space in a room wisely. It would be good to have body lotion available. It's a simple plus that completes the shower experience. Also a big note of thanks to Felix who provided such useful tips to the city, everything from museums to restaurants. He's knowledgeable and enthusiastic and picked up quickly on our interests.
Room, even if not so large, are good. Breakfast limited and breakfast location not good

This dog room 302 seemed a little smaller than the last one. Very little room to Move.. but great service , good bar tender and breakfast ladies. Happy with parking and everything in general.

Been always a pleasure to stay in your hotel especially Palaisplatz in Dresden Neustadt. Workers are nice. Would be nice to have buffet there in the evening with live music!! Motel one was situated near the train station so took minutes to locate. The room was spotless however it didn't offer tea/coffee facilities but I didn't ask reception if they supplied a kettle
- the room was over all very nice and clean, though there were some spots with dust (dust-threads on the ceiling, some corners). - the breakfast was good, all standard things were there, nothing extraordinary (I'm personally a fan of warm breakfast, but I understand, that this is potentially logistically challenging) - I had two sets of towels in the bath, even though I only needed one set as I booked single. This could be improved for sustainability, if the service staff knows which rooms are booked single or double. - On the topic of sustainability, I liked the option to foregoe room service. I also like the (now standard) notices about optionally not changing the towels everyday. I did not experience whether you actually follow those (most other hotels I have seen those notices at, sadly did not). - I liked the fireplace on the TV when I came into the room, it made it quite cozy. - If it is not a fire hazard issue, decoration in the staircase (paintings or similar) could invite more people to take the stairs instead of the elevator.

Overall excellent. Only two things which could be improved: 1. wooden floor in the room instead of carpet. 2. offer in addition a „quick breakfast“ (coffee and croissant, or similar)
We enjoyed our stay at this perfect place with super friendly staff, great breakfast. From this location, all important hotspots of the city can be reached by foot. If you want to visit Dresden, this Motel One at Zwinger is the place to be. The booking was quite easy via the Motel One app, I changed later by e-mail our check out date with friendly hotel staff.
Great location in Neustadt, marvelous Kästner-related design, love the lounge.

Perfect location, in walking distance to sights in the old town center, to REWE supermarket, bakery, many restaurant. The hotel has a very nice and contemporary design with a great lobby and bar. The rooms are very nice and clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We had the perfect stay!
Once again, Motel One delivered as expected. Exactly what we needed. Will return to Motel One Dresden. Thank you.

During late afternoon: not enough staff available at the bar, waited almost 15min to order a ‚quick‘ coffee… Other than that it was a positive experience ant to be recommended ;)

Dresden er i den grad rig på seværdigheder. Disse tæller bl.a.
- Semperoperaen
- museumskomplekset Zwinger, der i dag huser Rafaels Sixtinske Madonna
- Residensslottet
- Brühls Terrasse
- det pragtfulde japanske palads ved Palaisplatz i bydelen Innere Neustadt
- samt ikke mindst den genopbyggede Frauenkirche, der regnes som et af den protestantiske verdens fremmeste kuppelbyggerier.
De fleste af disse seværdigheder befinder sig i centrum af byen og kan dermed uden problemer nås til fods fra vores hotel. Al den sightseeing gør en sulten, og heldigvis skorter det ikke på caféer og restauranter i centrum. Et andet must under opholdet i Dresden er en tur over byens berømte blå bro med det ikoniske design. Broen lyder af samme grund kælenavnet Blaues Wunder. Broen forbinder bydelene Blasewitz og Loschwitz og hedder derfor officielt egentlig Loschwitzer Brücke.
Apropos Elbbro: Broens tilstand blev vurderet til ikke at være trafiksikker efter 2030, hvilket begrundede byggeriet af den nye Waldschlößchenbrücke. Dermed mistede Dresden Elbdal sin status som UNESCO verdensarv. Selv uden den flotte titel er dette kulturlandskab med sine karakteristiske flodenge dog stadig absolut malerisk.
Vil du opleve endnu mere natur på rejsen, er der ikke langt fra hotellet i Dresden til nationalparken Sächsische Schweiz med bjergkæden Elbsandsteingebirge. Nationalparken er kendt for sine bizarre klippeformationer, der udgør et spændende mål for en dagsudflugt, f.eks. den berømte Basteibrücke.
Med et så stort udvalg af seværdigheder kan det næppe undre, at Dresden er et yndet mål for miniferier eller weekendture. Og det hele året rundt. Den maleriske barokby tager sig nemlig også godt ud i snedækket tilstand. Kommer du forbi i den søde juletid, må du endelig lægge vejen forbi Striezelmarkt, der er intet mindre end et af verdens ældste julemarkeder.
