Great location, quiet rooms
All staff were extremely helpful. We were able to check in earlier than 3pm as another room similar to the one allocated to us was available. We were able to get train tickets printed by the receptionist and able to leave our luggage after checking out as we had a late flight. Nothing was a problem.
Overall excellent. Staff, room, rooftop bar, excellent.
I didnt receive my invoice
The room were so clean and comfy, just one negative point, there wasn't any terrace or balcony (open during night) to smoke a sigarette with some friend
Excellent location if you need a clean, good quality bed before an early departure from the main train station.
Always enjoyable, close to the Centre, easy to teach, high end experience for a budget price
When we checked in there was no mention of the AC not working. If you had been up front and offered us a fan that might have been ok but you didn’t.
Last minute booking thanks to train disruption. Which I imagine they get a lot! Room was lovely and very comfortable, slept as well as in my own bed. Directly opposite the Hauptbanhof as the name suggests. The DB staff actually suggested I book there. Only complaint was that the bar area needs better AC, it was pretty warm in there. But it was a hot day. First time I've stayed in a Motel One, have heard good things about them. Will definitely be staying again.
Very comfortable and quiet room. Great location for getting out and about.
Your employees charge extra breakfast even we have free breakfast.
We were overall quite disappointed in the hotel and felt it was a very poor value. The location is great, and the rooms were clean, but that is about all I can say in its favor. Overall, service was between fair to poor with the staff often treating our questions and requests in a dismissive fashion. Even little things like knowing we book 2 rooms for 2.people each but only having one inadequate sheet/pillow/blanket and a single towel were an indication of the lack of detail. Worse than that was the fact that it took multiple requests to get more bedding and towels and that we had to do all the work ourselves. On top of that, the lobby was often wet and dirty in the evenings and mornings. The bar wasn't welcoming and the selections were underwhelming. We could have found much better accomodations elsewhere at a much better price. We will not be returning and won't recommend the hotel to others.
great food, great bedroom
It would be great if there was a coffee corner in the room.
Tolle Lage, nettes Personal und eine place2be roof top bar. Zimmer Standard motel one.
very good location, great roof top bar and very friendly staff. The One Lounge was a bit crowded at breakfast and the space of the One Lounge seem not to be sufficiently designed for the number of hotels guest - there would be room for improvement with an extension etc. I had a double room for 1 person, which was big enough. For 2 persons, it would be rather cozy. If you book via email, your booking cannot be added to your BeOne account - if that could be changed, it would be great.
Very friendly and efficient staff.Hotel well situated, very clean and comfortable. Would stay here again.
Room is clean, small but nice. But with this price would like to have more products (like the classic ones, conditioner, sewingkit etc) in bathroom, and also those papercups are horrible! Most people like to drink fex water at night, and papercups leak easily. Few cups and watercooker would not be bad. But staff is nice and location good!
Citytrip
We arrived early and was able to drop our luggage in a secure room which was really handy . Check in staff were friendly and very helpful .Once checked in room was great clean and tidy .
Small room, no hot water in the room and no mineral water and expensive
Perfect location
Rooms are really clean and well furnished. Comfortable bed and all the staff were really friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again. Great bar and decent breakfast too.
We booked a room with a view at an additional cost, but room 319 on the 3rd floor faces an inner courtyard with a plain white wall directly outside the window. Looking to the side, you only see the wall of the adjacent building — there is absolutely no view. In an 11-story hotel in Berlin, a "room with a view" should mean an upper floor with a view of the city or a landmark, not a wall. When we reported this at reception, staff insisted this was indeed a room with a view and that there is no better category — which is hard to believe given what we experienced. The second major issue was the toilet flush, which ran continuously throughout the night, constantly refilling and tripping. After the first night we reported this to reception, who promised it would be fixed. It was not fixed, and we had the same problem the second night. The only solution offered was to move to an adjacent room on the same floor with essentially the same non-view. We had no time to move as we had morning meetings. The location of the hotel is good. The bar is okay. The room itself is very small, but adequately equipped. However, for the price paid — especially with the surcharge for a supposed view room — the value is extremely poor. The service at reception was disappointing: excuses were made, a promised repair was not carried out, and the room categorization issue was not taken seriously. Very disappointing stay.
Excellent location, very comfortable room, helpful staff. I was especially delighted to find an English language news channel on the TV.
Overall, very happy stay at the Alexanderplatz Motel One. Excellent staff, very friendly and prices are reasonable and fair. Suggestions: more nutritious breakfasts would be welcome. It would also be helpful to have a direct line to the desk from a room; its a hassle to walk down whenever you had a question.
Tolles Hotel :)
Excellent bathroom lots of hot water, good sized rooms and very clean. I would have liked tea/coffee making facilities though
I stay at this hotel regularly during my business trips for Messe Berlin. I like its very pleasant atmosphere and its central location suits me. The only drawback is the lack of storage space (missing closet). Note about the price: Compared to the pre-COVID pandemic period, accommodation with the same quality of services is getting more and more expensive, I mainly notice this during trade fairs.
the air conditioning could work better because the room was too hot
Clean. Good position. Breakfast OK
very clean, helpful and smile staff , very central everywhere
I liked the hotel, but for this lind of price one expects to get a better room - not only roomier, but better organized. I couldn't use the desk, for example.
Good hotel, nice design, close to central station. Breakfast good quality, but unfortunately a bit chaotic with slow cleaning of tables and busy.
🤩 wow. I’m happy about it.
Maintenance works should informed during reservation. And flexi prices are idiotism.
Good service, room was nice, breakfast was a bit packed and hard to get a place
i enjoyed my stay, only in the room describtion (one for one) it didnt mention that its a 90cm bed, altough on the picture i could see its a bed for one person (which was fine for me). I like that the hotel is very well connected.
I'd like hot sausages for breakfast.
Location is excellent. It would be nice to get a bottle of water in the room and /or water kettle to prepare tea/coffee. Given the hotel price having none of that is rather disappointing. Also the breakfast is not outstanding. The rooms are perfectly clean and functional, small though. But in comparison to other Motel Ones this experience was indeed a bit disappointing as there are really no complimentary additions. Would stay again nevertheless, of course.
Okay but not for 200€ per night
Friendly professionals. Clean rooms and sheets and great pillows. Extraordinary view over the city to watch sun set. Close to train station, everything.
I really like Motel One at Berlin Hbf for the following reasons: 1. It's a beautifully designed place. The lobby/bar/cafe is stylish and pleasing to be in, and the rooms are beautiful and functional. 2. The location close to the Hbf is ideal 3. The price is reasonable The only flaw is that the bar/cafe is very understaffed and has nearly no food on offer. That is very puzzling and a considerable disadvantage. Four different kinds of cheese sandwich is exceedingly little. Not a huge problem, but I would have liked coffee in the room, as nearly all hotels offer.
It's my second time this year at this hotel in Berlin, loved everything. Probably going to be back here again. ;)
Just a couple scratch marks on the walls of the room. Other than that, it was exactly what I expected. Extremely good value for my stay in Berlin.
The hotel is super clean, the staff if so nice and cooperative, everything went great. Only simple additions to the breakfast buffet like a toaster or some ready made omelet will make a significant difference. Thanks to everyone there.
Dear Motel one, I would like to provide formal feedback regarding my recent stay at your hotel. To begin with, I acknowledge that the hotel’s location is convenient. Its proximity to the central bus station allows efficient access to the rest of the city. The room itself was standard and unremarkable, which in itself would not have been an issue. However, the main issue with my stay was far more serious. During my stay, I discovered that the bed in my room had bedbugs. This was not a minor inconvenience, but a significant hygiene and hospitality failure that caused considerable physical discomfort and distress. When I reported the matter to the front desk, the response I received was limited to an apology, a room change, and a voucher for a cocktail at the hotel bar. I do not consider this an adequate or proportionate response to such an incident. Offering a complimentary drink in this context gave the impression that the hotel was attempting to minimize a serious problem rather than address it appropriately. Quite frankly, a cocktail is not a reasonable form of compensation for a situation that left me dealing with itching and clear physical discomfort. I would have expected a more serious and professional response, including meaningful compensation. Under these circumstances, I believe a partial refund, at minimum, would be an appropriate gesture. I would therefore appreciate your prompt response confirming how you intend to resolve this matter. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Sincerely, Ianai
Very nice comfortable and clean. I can rest assured that wherever j stay with motel one cleanliness is at the top. Im always very satisfied. I dont rate this as a 10 because in the morning the cleaning guy came and opened the door twice and felt my privacy was violated. He came to clean at 7am and 10am. Otherwise all good.
Unfortunately the guests in the room next to my room had a party both nights of my stay and I didn’t have any sleep! Bathe first night the reception went to the neighbor room and asked them to be quiet, this lasted for 15 minutes and then they were extremely loud until 4:00 am! The second night the same however this time the reception did not answer the telephone! I called 5 times to the front desk and no one answered! This is not acceptable. The pillows are also too big and very uncomfortable.
Great location and super friendly and helpful staff

Berlin - Discover all facets of the metropolis in ten Motel One hotels
More than 200 years ago, the poet Jean Paul famously noted: “Berlin is rather a part of the world than a city.” This is more accurate than ever: Berlin is incredibly diverse and exciting. We will be happy to welcome you to our ten affordable hotels in Berlin – after all, each district, each neighbourhood and each hotel is unique.
Our design hotels skilfully reflect the urban influences of their surroundings, beckoning you to relax and be inspired in the cosy lounge chairs made from sophisticated materials. Start the day with a healthy, organic breakfast and end it in a cosy box-spring bed. Free Wi-Fi is a given.
Budget design hotels in Berlin – your Motel One
Years of separation into East and West gave the German capital a unique character. Today, it is a young and creative metropolis bustling with events, a dynamic start-up culture and an international art scene. Of course, it is also the home of two football clubs – Hertha and Union –, delicious döner kebab and currywurst, and the notoriously direct Berlin dialect.
- the Reichstag building near the new central station
- the Museum Island
- the “City West” with its Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, Kurfürstendamm avenue and the KaDeWe department store
- the remnants of the Berlin Wall, e.g. at Checkpoint Charlie
- the Alexanderplatz square with its soaring TV tower
- and, last but not least, the famous Brandenburg Gate
You’ll need more than one night to take in all these highlights. And the list is far from exhaustive. There's also the Bellevue Palace, Potsdamer Platz, the Berlin Philharmonic, Nikolaiviertel, Hackesche Höfe, East Side Gallery and countless museums. Each of our design hotels is situated right around the corner from something exciting.
On top of all its cultural highlights, Berlin is surprisingly green and full of attractive parks such as the Tiergarten – perfect for an outdoor breakfast. For a slightly different green space, head to Tempelhofer Feld: the former airport now a huge public park right in the city centre. The old runways are playgrounds to wind sport enthusiasts such as street kiters, while the grassland in between is a protected biotope. Typically Berlin!
The different districts of the city all have their own, distinct character: from the elegance of the old west in Charlottenburg to modern art and design in trendy Berlin-Mitte, from the lively alternative scenes of Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain to the multicultural ambiance of Neukölln. Each area is a city in its own right. A leisurely walk through the streets of the capital will take you past historical architecture, original street art and many other influences.
Book a room in one of our design hotels and start exploring Berlin, one of our favourite parts of the world.
