All in all, a very good hotel; the rooms are clean, very well soundproofed and have comfortable beds. The staff are friendly and professional. The breakfast buffet offers delicious, high-quality food. Unfortunately, there are also two points of criticism: - The TV switches on automatically as soon as you activate the power using your room card. If you go in and out of the room several times, it does get a bit annoying. - Although the hotel has its own car park, you cannot book a space in advance. It is therefore not possible to secure a guaranteed space by booking in advance.
Unacceptable incident as per report
Next to the Hauptbahnhof, close to all attractions. Great breakfast.
Bed sheets (duvet) were a little dirty. Outside the building smelled like garbage
Great hotel in excellent location. Staff very helpful and super friendly. Room on the small side with no tea/coffee making facility.
Thanks alot for everything
Very welcoming and pleasant experience. We loved everything about it. We worth the price.
We loved our stay at Motel One Potsdamer platz. The room was clean and womderfully cool (we visited during a heatwave), and the bed very comfortable. The staff was incredibly nice and polite. The hotel has a nicely decorated and relaxing bar to hang out in, and the drinks we got were really good. The hotel is loceted in a great spot with the trainstation and lots of shops, museums and restaurants close by. We'll definatly look to book this hotel again when we visit Berlin next time!
My second stay at the hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff at the reception, quick check-in, everything smooth. Perfect central location, positive to mention the possibility to rent a bike in the hotel directly and the parking (with extra charge). Perfect business hotel, but for a family with a small child I would recommend a different hotel because the rooms are small and the beds not wide. This is no criticism, just a fact.
A very good hotel with good rooms & breakfast at a convenient location. I only lack a gym or cooperation with one.
The stay was pretty nice. But not having a fridge/minibar or even a kettle in the room for this price point creates a very bad experience unfortunately. I wish the rooms had these simple accommodations. Thanks
Very nice stay. Clean and friendly, helpful stuff. Perfect experience regarding price and service.
Got a high floor with good view from the room, staff was always friendly and helpful, and there was even an arcade in the same building. Only drawback is the website itself being partially English and partially German even when choosing English version.
The Front Desk staff was exceptional, specifically Nadine. The Bar staff was also excellent.
Friendly and very helpful reception staff (5 stars). Despite being located in a central region, finding it on Google Maps was a bit tricky as it kept leading to a different corner. Since there were scuffolding around, the street number was not visible and neither did it have any prominent signboards.
Very convenient for transport. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was a bit small but fine for our purpose. Booking and check-in and out were easy.
I am writing to share some feedback regarding my recent stay. Having stayed at many Motel One locations in the past with great experiences, I was unfortunately disappointed with this particular visit as it fell below your usual standards. First, the bed comfort was lacking; both the mattress and pillows were quite uncomfortable and made it difficult to get a good night's rest. More importantly, we were startled to see maintenance personnel on our terrace directly outside our room without any prior notice. Even for routine maintenance or cleaning, guests should always be notified in advance for privacy and safety reasons. As a loyal guest, I wanted to bring these issues to your attention so they can be addressed for future visitors.
The staff were very helpful, the service was incredible, the room was always clean whenever I returned. Impeccable tourist experience.
Had a great stay at this hotel. Friendly and helpful staff, comfortable and clean room, great location. Only thing I really missed was having a kettle in my room. Would definitely come back and stay again if I was in Berlin.
I have quite mixed feelings about my stay. Friends recommended me this hotel and it is a good hotel, it looks good and fresh/modern, staff is friendly and overall on paper it was all good. Location is really good, less than 10m to "S-Bahn" and it's quite noisy but closed windows making it not noticeable. I booked for 5 nights, and on checking we were asked if we want cleaning every day, which we said no to. But somehow "not every day" turned out to no room service at all. I don't need my bed made and changing towels but they could at least emty trash/etc. This was "interesting" experience. I also realised that I would like to have some water cooker so that's something I will pay attention to next time.
comfortable bed, clean room and quiet for a good night's sleep
The room does not look like exactly in the pictures. I was very disappointed the room had no mini fridge, no glass (a paper cup for leaving my wet toothbrush in it??), no kettle or at least a spoon.
I have been staying at the hotel three years in a raw. I love it. The reception is fast and friendly and professional. Big thanks to Vincent! He was nice and friendly! Also big thanks to the girl who works at bar! The cappuccino war toll! See you next year! :) thank you!
A nice quiet room in the busy centre of Berlin. Good price/quality balance. Good breakfast, cereals and excellent fresh fruit. A conscious nature choice. The cheese and meat was a bit boring. The contacts were dealt with very well organised and efficient that made it a bit impersonal. But the people who worked or visited the hotel made it a pleasnt stay
Excellent high end budget/lower end business hotel, of the kind I have come to expect from Motel One. The room was very comfortable, with nice touches, such as charging point next to the bed - though coffee-making facilities in the room might be a useful addition. In this case, the location - whilst not in the most attractive area itself, is right next to Spittelmarkt U-bahn and, in any case, within walking distance of Postdamer-platz, Alexander-platz, and Unter den Linden.
Very glad for having a late check-out granted at 13h00 by desk employee, Anton.
Loved the location and the breakfast room with a view.
It was very good Servirs very nice workers at Hotel also has Mr.Lues and Mr. MOHAMED IT WAS VERY NICE TO US AND GOOD SERVIES
The personnel is fine just one receptionist was not gentle and replying fairly. Cleaning is good but some sofà were dirti since much time. Breakfast is poor, no warm options
Total Happy.
The rooms were nice but they were a little bit small and without too much space to store things. On the bad side it wasn't possible to adjust the heating/AC. It was set as AC for the whole hotel, but it was cold outside and we wanted to set it to hot air. We asked front desk to do that and they said it wasn't possible. The hotel was confortable and very well connected.
everything clean and as expected
Fantastic experience. The person that checked me in was amazing as well
Very comfortable, clean, modern hotel. Rooms very well designed with plug sockets in the right locations, good hanging spaces and hooks, excellent hairdryer. Fantastic location and super staff
Very clean hotel and amazing staff. Room was a bit small. Breakfast was great.
Very nice place. Excellent location and staff.
Was all good except for 1) the breakfast lady (the one to whom I gave my room number) being snappy and 2) the breakfast buffet having no scrambled eggs and no proper hard cheese. The guy at the reception desk was very polite and helpful.
Great location, great staff, great price! I was there for 2 weeks and was wanted to shake things up a little by changing rooms to get a different view of the city. Staff were super helpful with my request which made my stay even better.
Top.
Construction noise (drilling, hammering) at 6:30 am (!!!) is an absolute no-go! Breakfast very basic and very limited choices especially when you stay several days. Location p4rfect (central)
The staff on the reception was super efficient, friendly and went beyond and above to male me feel comfortable and enjoy the stay. The room was small but had a good vibe, only a bit too much cooled down - that I eased by turning it off and opening the window for the evening before going to sleep. The soundproofing of the windows is great and thanks to that I have really slept like a baby. The glass needs cleaning though because especially at night it is visible that people are touching it while watching out. Roofbar at 18th floor was nice and has a great view, the staff there was attentive and made me a cup of hot chocolate for good night even though co tails are their main focus. The terasse at 9th floor is lovely but could use some bigger trees in a pots and a tiny bit of pampering to create more cosy “outdoor” atmosphere. We didnt stay there but with few gardener touches it would definitely be the place to stay. Breakfast was good, a bit too crowded and chaotic at one point but again the staff was lovely and tried their best to help me with my allregies. That is the only serious point i have there - please write down the allergens for each of the items since i had to ask about every single item (i am lactose intolerant). It would ease my life as well as the life of the staff who had to search for the infredients informations. I liked the lounge adjacent to the breakfast room, with trees and also the courtyard was nice. The tent ruins the atmosphere though and it would be great if more elegant permanent architectural solution could be used there. Also generally the pavement, seating and tables on the patio and lounge breakfast area were not cleaned enough and therefore not welcoming to sit in them (breadcrumbs, food, paper towels, pillows not areanged nicely). I would apreciate some bike rental service, perhaps some tips to activities maybe with some pertnerships to local businesses of such a kind. Overall the experience was good and i will consider it next time I will plan my trip to Berlin again. And also i jave been not informed about the wifi so i just went in data all the time.
reception and breakfast staff are friendly and everything was ok. room and bathroom were rather disappointing, much too small and unefficient: no closet, 4 hangers for two people, practically no night table ... in the bathroom, not one inch where to leave a bag ... one used cupboard left in the room after cleaning ... we might choose again Motel One, but definately not the "Berlin-Mitte" one!
Es war alles ok. Motel one in Edinborough war weit besser!
I have stayed here before for the same reasons: good location, quiet rooms, clean place. Also, got my room early!
perfect location, very convenient. provide cups for drink
Whenever we come to Berlin, almost every year, we like to stay at Motel One Hauptbahnhof. Good access, as we travel with a wheelchair. For us it's home away from home!
Super 👍
A great hotel that needs to stay as it is at present. The comfort, facilties and staff are superb. I believe that there may be a trend for a few hotel businesses to carry out relabel' exercises which, in my experience, usually mean higher prices. When a business already has a winning formula it can be very unwise to introduce changes as the result can so often be giving away loyal customers to competitors. ("if it is not broken do not try and fix it") When, in the past, I have come across businesses that change things that do not need to be changed they usually lose my custom and I go elsewhere.
The service was fantastic and my requests have been accomendated well.
Excellent Service! Very friendly staff. Very good price-performance.

What can you expect at the Motel One hotels in Berlin?
“Berlin is more a part of the world than a city,” wrote Jean Paul, and that is exactly how the capital still feels today. Berlin consists of many centres, neighbourhoods and contrasts: the government district, Museum Island, Alexanderplatz, Potsdamer Platz, City West, Kreuzberg, the banks of the Spree and peaceful green spaces are either close together or deliberately side by side, depending on the route.
Motel One’s Berlin design hotels draw on the urban influences of their respective surroundings and combine them with the familiar Motel One standard: One Lounge, bar, breakfast, modern rooms and free Wi-Fi. This overview shows you which location suits your plans for Berlin – from your first city break to your regular business trips.

Which Motel One hotel in Berlin is right for your trip?
If you’re travelling by train, want to be close to the government district and need to find your way around the Brandenburg Gate, Spreebogen or Potsdamer Platz, our Motel One at Berlin Central Station is the obvious choice. If you’re focusing on classic sightseeing in Mitte, Motel One Berlin-Alexanderplatz, Motel One Berlin-Hackescher Markt, Motel One Berlin-Spittelmarkt or Motel One Berlin-Potsdamer Platz are all good options – depending on whether the TV Tower, Museum Island, Nikolai Quarter, Checkpoint Charlie, Gendarmenmarkt or the Kulturforum are at the top of your itinerary.
For shopping, the theatre, the zoo and City West, Motel One Berlin-Upper West, Motel One Berlin-Ku’damm and Motel One Berlin-Tiergarten are convenient starting points. If you’re planning an evening out to bars, restaurants, Kreuzberg, the banks of the Spree or the creative neighbourhoods of Mitte, Motel One Berlin-Mitte might be the better choice. Motel One Berlin-Bellevue is ideal if you want to combine a central location with a quieter setting near the Spree and Bellevue Palace.
For business travellers: choose your accommodation based on your meeting schedule rather than just the name of the district. For meetings at the main railway station, in the government district or around the Charité hospital, Berlin-Hauptbahnhof is the obvious choice. For meetings at Potsdamer Platz, in Mitte or at venues in the city centre, Potsdamer Platz, Spittelmarkt, Hackescher Markt and Alexanderplatz are sensible choices. For appointments in City West, at agencies, retail outlets or cultural institutions around Ku’damm and the Zoo, Upper West, Ku’damm and Tiergarten are good options. If you have several appointments spread across the city, a location with quick access to the S-Bahn or U-Bahn is usually more important than the shortest route to a single attraction.
How do you explore Berlin from the Motel One hotels?
Berlin bears the marks of its years of division into East and West, whilst at the same time being a young, creative metropolis with events, a start-up culture and an international art scene. The city is synonymous with Hertha and Union, döner and currywurst, a rich history and the typical Berlin attitude.
Depending on your hotel, you can quickly reach many of the city’s classic sights by underground, S-Bahn, bus or on foot:
– the Reichstag and the government district near the main station
– Museum Island, Berlin Cathedral and the Nikolaiviertel
– City West with the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, Ku’damm and KaDeWe
– Remnants of the Berlin Wall, such as at Checkpoint Charlie
– Alexanderplatz with the TV Tower
– Brandenburg Gate, Potsdamer Platz, the Berlin Philharmonic, the East Side Gallery and many museums
But Berlin is also surprisingly green. The Tiergarten, the riverside paths along the Spree and Tempelhofer Feld give the capital plenty of breathing space. On the former airport site, walks, sport, picnics, cycling and sweeping views all come together. This other side of the city is particularly important after a packed day of museum visits or a long schedule of appointments.
The city’s districts also have their own distinct character: Charlottenburg and City West are known for their elegant shopping streets and cultural offerings; Mitte for its museums, historic sites and galleries; Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain for their bars, clubs, street art and alternative scenes; and Neukölln for its international neighbourhoods and vibrant atmosphere. With ten hotels in Berlin, Motel One can cater to a variety of travel plans without reducing the city to a single centre.
