Super helpful and friendly staff. Spotless, comfortable room
Breakfast should include lactose free products (cheese, yogurt,…)
Staffs were really kind and helpful. It would be better that a kettle and coffee are provided in a room.
Always a wonderful experience! Clean, quiet, and such a great bar area! Also love that your ts so close to public transit
i like to sit in the bar and do some work, 2 of 3 evenings the wifi did NOT work in the bar, very annoying, neither their staff, nor the receptiion could help. In the rooms it worked. So I had to leave the bar after 1,2 drinks already. Other guests there told me they have the same issue every night. To all Motel Ones: there should be a small FRIDGE in the rooms. It‘s not good!
Reception and bar staff very friendly, helpful and efficient. The hotel was extremely clean and well maintained. The bedroom were also clear and the beds comfortable. The toiletries provided are of a good quality. Only reason it is not a 10 is that the rooms are quite warm despite the aircon being on - and because you can't open the windows, its hard to do anything to change the situation.
Very nice staff let us check in early as a room was available. Comfy bed and decor as expected for all Motel Ones. Enjoyed the lobby for cocktails in afternoon with visiting cat. Quiet pleasant neighbourhood walking distance to Botanical Gardens. Only there for one night and were well looked after by staff.
Everything was fine, I had only one problem: when I checked in, a member of the staff told me I had breakfast included, but the next morning I discovered it was not, and I had to pay 17,50€
One of the quietest hotels i have been to . Very clean, friendly staff and good location.
A great hotel. Friendly staff, clean, great breakfast and location good for connection to public transport. We enjoyed our stay.
Let's start with the hotel staff who were lovely. The location of the hotel is perfect, 2 minutes walk from the metro station and then 3 stops to the center of Amsterdam. The rooms are clean and spacious. Excellent breakfast. The only downside is that you can't open a window to ventilate, but it's not that bad.
Very pleasant stay, nice hotel, very friendly staff. While the room equipment for storing your clothes etc. may be suitable for short stays, it is a bit sparse for longer stays. I will gladly return.
I have not received my invoice for stay on 28-29 January 2026, Please send the invoice because i am not able to contact you
Location was great. Close to transportation and shopping. Room was clean and very quiet, which surprised me because our room faced the street and was right next to the elevator. But we didn't hear a thing. Folks at the reception were wonderful. Always friendly and very patient with us when asking for directions or places to go. Lobby was cozy in the evenings to just sit and have a drink. I would definitely stay at this hotel again should I be in Amsterdam.
A hospitality experience begins at the front desk, but unfortunately, the treatment I received from the staff member on duty was unprofessional and dismissive. Specifically: Lack of Professionalism: Upon arrival, I was not greeted. The staff member appeared more interested in talking with other guest for things non-relevant to duty of reception, than assisting me. When I inquired about ehat is the next step after taking my luggage at night (as i early arrive the hotel before check in time), the response was delivered in a condescending and impatient manner. The young female staff member on duty (Caucasian, working the late-night desk on 16 Apr 2026) exhibited a level of service that I found to be highly unprofessional and disrespectful. This is the worst check-in experience. Other than that unprofessional staff, other reception staffs are nice and helpful
Very clean, helpful staff, very comfortable beds. The location is also very good, near both the metro and the train to the airport. Good breakfast, hot bread and coffee. Thank you so much for everything!!!
Everything great. The only thing missing that there wasn't a plastic bag in the trash can
Staff was very friendly, room was bright and clean. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choices. Great central location to walk to many places.
Friendly staff, professionally run operations.
All staff very friendly and helpful. A very comfortable room. A great breakfast Shame not to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room
Last-minute booking, good price this night by online booking the room, kind people at the desk, good too, good sleep!
We chose Motel One for our trip to Amsterdam because it’s close to the airport (15 minutes) and the city center. It’s very well connected, with the metro just a 5-minute walk away. The rooms are beautiful, modern, clean, and very quiet. The hotel overall is very nice. The breakfast is excellent. It’s a pity there aren’t any places nearby where you can have dinner.
Very friendly staff. Hotel in a great location close to places of interest and good bars and restaurants. We didn’t have breakfast or use the bar/lounge but both seemed very popular. Room had everything you needed and beds very comfortable. We would stay again!
Bare bones room no amenities. Room was too hot.The only way I could cool it down was to open the window, which made it exceptionally.Noisy.
I am a member but I was not offered bottle of water upon check in
The placement of the reception desk is very awkward: there is not a natural flow from the front door to the reception. I was waiting to be checked-in in front of the desk, but the front desk agents assisted people who arrived after me. I realise that the hotel just underwent renovations, so the floor plan is likely not going to be redone now, but some signage would help. The bathrooms should have exhaust fans. Otherwise, the rooms and common areas are clean, and the bed, as always, is comfortable.
This was outstanding! The friendliness, the tidiness, the breakfast, and the willingness to support in every request. A real treat for the whole family. Thank you Motel One :-)
The best stay!👏
Efficient and friendly staff
I am sorry, I am actually a big Motel One fan but this time I was quite shocked. I booked two nights and after the first night I saw a big disgusting dirty stain on my bed that was NOT from me. I almost got a rash in my body as I was so disgusted. I then left down to the lobby to complain and I was surprised to see that the lady was neither shocked nor surprised she literally said: thank you for informing us and we’ll change the sheets. That’s it. I mean this Motel One was the priciest from all Motel Ones I ever stayed in (Barcelona, Vienna, Rostock) and I expected a better service then this. I am still quite shocked to be honest.
I stayed at Motel One Amsterdam Waterlooplein for three days during my business trip, and I had a wonderful experience. The staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and positive throughout my stay. I would especially like to thank the hotel manager, Konstantinos Konstantos, who was exceptionally kind and helpful. As I was new to Amsterdam, he took the time to guide me with local information and directions, which made my stay much easier and more comfortable. Their positivity and support truly made my business trip more enjoyable. Wishing the entire team all the very best!
The place was clean and quiet, with good soundproofing and a nice breakfast. Overall, everything was well maintained and comfortable. However, it didn’t feel truly pet friendly, as there is a fee for the dog but no access allowed to the breakfast area, even on the side. The garage is no guarantee of getting a spot.
We had fabulous stay there was 4 of us we had 2 rooms booked, From the moment we arrived we were greated by staff member who's name was Welinton so kind and very polite all staff were very good , Hotel is really very good beautiful relaxing lounge at the end of your day to relax, Lovely continental breakfast. Transport is just about 5 mns walk and very handy to get around Spotless clean, 😀
The hotel is modern, stylish, and clean. The rooms are not very large, but they are thoughtfully designed and comfortable, with everything you need for a short stay. The bed was especially cozy, which made for a great night’s sleep. One of the highlights is the location, making it super convenient to get around Amsterdam. Whether you're visiting for business or leisure, it’s well connected to the city center and other areas. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay, which added to the positive experience. The lobby and bar area also have a nice atmosphere, perfect for relaxing. The only small downside is the limited space in the rooms and lack of certain amenities like a fridge or coffee-making facilities, but this didn’t significantly impact my stay. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a comfortable, well-located, and stylish place to stay in Amsterdam.
I am a happy regular customer and love Motel One. The lady at the check in counter was very friendly and helpful, she really made me feel welcome.
Comfortable room, friendly staff
Hotel was very well decorated and clean only issue was a lot of tables are too low for eating breakfast
location was good, but the room does not worth almost 250 euro per night , at most 100 or 150 Euro per night, it did not have cupboard, slipper, garbage bin, not any place for your luggages, not big
- Room: enough space but had a very bad smell and no windows. - Room with a view: The view from the second floor was nothing special. Not worth it.
Everything was perfect, but please take care of some of your exit doors next time, because it was a little bit uncomfortable.
Parking information for flow was inaccurate. Standard parking email a bit blunt and does not take into consideration actual booking.
Very positive impression of both staff in the reception and cleaning staff. Nice and clean rooms.
The hotel staff were amazing. They were warm and welcoming as well. During my stay I had asked to keep my insulin in a refrigerator. Over the course of my stay, each staff member that helped me knew exactly where the medication was and gave it to me quickly. I really appreciated the staff's attention to my medical needs. Thank you very much for the wonderful experience
Hi! Very nice and Friendly staff! Only thing is the Main door at 1st Level at the Elevators, when it’s closing its loud and you can hear it all the time in the rooms. Maybe you can adjust the closing mechanics a Little. Best regards, Maik Hagedorn
Friendly staff and everything else was good, but the breakfast was so bad I would not come back. It would be better not to offer breakfast at all. There is also not enough seating in the lobby. and considering I paid €860 for two nights, I really would not come back that is way too much even for the area.
Very friendly staff and beautiful hotel at a great price.
Very nice hotel for the price, especially consider Ing a great location - next to metro and train, though I used the room only to sleep and shower. Breakfast is a bit lackluster - nothing warm to eat. Very friendly staff, I highly recommend
very pleasant and efficient
Perfect hotel and staff. Only thing that bothered me was the ventilation and black out curtain missing
it was a really nice stay in Amsterdam. Good location, close to the city centre but not in the mess, stuff and else we perfect, I would definitely stay here again! the only thing that was really annoying me was that the room felt a bit cold, and we couldn’t warm it up using the air conditioner.
Switch on. beOne.

Amsterdam
The relaxed metropolis
Relaxed, cosy, diverse and charming. A stay in our design hotels in Amsterdam lets you experience the uniquely charming spirit of the Dutch capital to the full. In this location close to the centre, you can recharge in individually-designed rooms, treat yourself to a drink at our bar, or use the free WiFi to plan your trip or meeting to perfection. Amsterdam goes at whatever pace you set. Start off bright and early with a healthy and organic breakfast, or let it all out in Amsterdam’s popular night-time scene. Our reception staff are on hand round the clock!
Amsterdam can transform itself from one street to the next, and a single wander can show you winding alleyways, dreamy houseboats, monumental squares and the notorious red-light district. Just a short break here is enough to get a taste. For a weekend get-away or city break of unparalleled relaxation, nothing beats this ever-changing port city. Although relatively compact, Amsterdam entertains millions of visitors every year, proving size isn’t everything.
Budget Design Hotels in Amsterdam – your Motel One
Urban canals, history-laden sights and world-class museums make Amsterdam unique. The network of “grachten” that intersects Amsterdam comprises 165 canals with a total length of 100 km. And did you know that about 8,000 bikes get fished out of the canals every year!
The Kingdom of the Netherlands’s capital boasts multitudinous coffee shops, attracting a mainly international crowd. And if you’re looking for the best in international night-life, the urbane and lively scene round the Leidseplein or Rembrandtplein has plenty to satisfy. Cafés, bars, and clubs hosting international stars and DJs are ten a penny.
Amsterdam’s Canal District was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2010. The grachten provide an unforgettable way to tour the city. If you're in the mood for a bit of exercise, you can brave the waters in a pedalo, or for a lazier conveyance, take a guided boat tour. There are even more spectacular options on hand: the “Floating Dutchman” amphibious vehicle will roll through the streets then float you right on to the canals.
One day in Amsterdam: Amstelpark, Damplatz and the Anne Frank House
Canal highlights include the “Golden Bend”, the 15 bridges between Reguliersgracht and Herengracht, and the picturesquely illuminated “Skinny Bridge”. The locals have a definite affinity for the water, as demonstrated by the houseboats lining the banks.
If you’re looking for a spot of greenery during your visit to Amsterdam, Our Design Hotel is handy for the Amstelpark, the expansive grounds of which receive nearly a million visitors a year and include a rhododendron garden, maze and Japanese-style garden – a perfect setting for a relaxing stroll.
History and art is also of course well represented. Three of the country’s most important sites – the Anne Frank House, Van Gogh Museum and Het Rembrandthuis museum are nearby. Dam Square is a bustling hub of Amsterdam’s diverse metropolis, but also has an interesting history, and is lined with impressive architecture.
