Amsterdam was the last night on a fortnight-long Interrail holiday around mainland Europe. It is an expensive city, and I spent almost two hours online trying to find a quality hotel, with own bathroom, near to public transport, that was not an extortionate price. I have stated in a Motel One before and trusted the brand. There is a railway station nearby, co-located with a metro station and tram stop, although the nearest tram stop was actually a bit closer to the hotel.
The location was perfect, very close to a metro station and only a 15 min walk from De Pijp. The room was very clean, bright and a decent size. The stuff was really nice and helpful.
Very friendly staff and response time is so quick !
Parking garage: unpleasant process. Driving up to the gate, ringing the bell to learn I need to go inside first to get parking spot assigned. So I needed to drive backwards, find a parking spot in front of the hotel. After the checkin I needed to drive to the garage again. There was no sign or prominent information for that process. Too complicated. Check in: I stayed at the hotel several times before and at Motel One Hotels in general more often. Still I needed to provide my cell phone number and ID number again. One reason I choose the same hotels is to have an easier check in process. That was a surprise to me.
everything was perfect
Very good stay, good location between city centre (only 10-15 min by metro) and Johan Cruijff Arena, where we went to the Harry concert. Nice staff, clean room. I always like the design of the Motel One Hotels and the comfy beds.
Wonderful staff, beautiful, clean and relaxing hotel.
Fantastic look and feel, greatest hospitality , super clean and room looks very fresh. We were super happy that we could check in before regular check in times. This is what helped us most as we had to leave for a wedding so we could change & fresh up before party started! Great breakfast in the morning in a very nice and peacefull ambiance! Its a shame that we had to leave early and arrived during night time - so we could not enjoy the bar service but looked very welcoming and hip! Thank you team Amsterdam !
The staff was very friendly, kind and professional at all times, making us feel at home even while in a new country. Keep up the good work.
Excellent and friendly service from staff at check in. Great location and nice clean hotel
At that price it was a bit strange that no extra equipment was available, such as iron, hygiene kit, glasses for drinks, or even a shoehorn. Otherwise good, everyone was very polite and serviceminded, perfect bathroom, and excellent location! Would recommend.
Small, but nice and functional rooms
As always, we had a wonderful stay at Motel One. This one in Amsterdam is spectacular. The rooms are beautiful; they gave us a room on the eighth floor with a view—beautiful. The staff is super friendly, everyone is very helpful. Special mention for hiring several refugees from Ukraine, a very nice gesture. The hotel is outside the city center but very close to the metro and tram. You're in the city center in 15 minutes, but you sleep away from the chaos. Everything was perfect, we'll be back.
Liked the refit of the hotel, lobby and rooms. Staff, especially Felix has been extremely supportive and professional.
The property was beautiful. I joined the members club and got a free upgrade at the time, which was nice. We also arrived earlier than expected and went to the hotel to leave our luggage, when they let us know we could use the from right away since it was already vacant. What a relief! The whole staff was friendly, very polite, and always willing to answer our questions. We are also grateful for Nana who was at the reception when we arrived and made the check-in quite fast and easy. Loved the place and will surely be back!
We had a nice 3 night stay at the hotel. It was a in a good location and the hotel was clean, tidy and staff were nice. Breakfast area was busy so had to sit in the bar area on casual/low tables which was fine but perhaps not ideal for everyone. Lacking some basic things like bottles of water in the room but overall we would consider it again for another visit
Nice clean modern hotel. Friendly staff. Close to city centre and public transport.
Very nice property in an excellent location for visiting Keukenhof Gardens which our main reason for visiting Amsterdam on this occasion. It is only two stops on the train from Schilphol airport and an easy walk to the metro station for getting to Central station in Amsterdam. The rooms are compact but well laid out and completely adequate for staying a few days. Reception staff members were all responsive and helpful with our questions and requests.
Very clean, modern hotel with friendly staff and nice rooms.
GOOD: Well located - Friendly Staff - Clean and spacious room IMPROVE: no warm options for breakfast - Media options(tv) - bar closes early
Great location, great staff. But tiny room, not alot of amenities, no fridge. The shower is open, which makes water splashed everywhere.
The only thing you can improve is a bigger table is someone want to work from room
Very quiet hotel. Super friendly staff. Room rates were way too high because of a trade show. Otherwise, it’s typical Motel One—I like it.
Hi, everything was very good, breakfast a bit of chaos and not so comfortable on the lower chairs, tables....
Very clean, modern hotel with great staff. Specially recommended if you are visiting RAI conference center. Near metro and train station for easy access to city center and airport.
Everything is perfect. The location is very good for reach the city center. Lots of public transport alternatives. Rooms were clean. Reception was carinf and smiling. Lobby was great. We loved there so much
Super helpful and friendly staff. Spotless, comfortable room
Breakfast should include lactose free products (cheese, yogurt,…)
Staffs were really kind and helpful. It would be better that a kettle and coffee are provided in a room.
Always a wonderful experience! Clean, quiet, and such a great bar area! Also love that your ts so close to public transit
i like to sit in the bar and do some work, 2 of 3 evenings the wifi did NOT work in the bar, very annoying, neither their staff, nor the receptiion could help. In the rooms it worked. So I had to leave the bar after 1,2 drinks already. Other guests there told me they have the same issue every night. To all Motel Ones: there should be a small FRIDGE in the rooms. It‘s not good!
Reception and bar staff very friendly, helpful and efficient. The hotel was extremely clean and well maintained. The bedroom were also clear and the beds comfortable. The toiletries provided are of a good quality. Only reason it is not a 10 is that the rooms are quite warm despite the aircon being on - and because you can't open the windows, its hard to do anything to change the situation.
Very nice staff let us check in early as a room was available. Comfy bed and decor as expected for all Motel Ones. Enjoyed the lobby for cocktails in afternoon with visiting cat. Quiet pleasant neighbourhood walking distance to Botanical Gardens. Only there for one night and were well looked after by staff.
Everything was fine, I had only one problem: when I checked in, a member of the staff told me I had breakfast included, but the next morning I discovered it was not, and I had to pay 17,50€
One of the quietest hotels i have been to . Very clean, friendly staff and good location.
A great hotel. Friendly staff, clean, great breakfast and location good for connection to public transport. We enjoyed our stay.
Let's start with the hotel staff who were lovely. The location of the hotel is perfect, 2 minutes walk from the metro station and then 3 stops to the center of Amsterdam. The rooms are clean and spacious. Excellent breakfast. The only downside is that you can't open a window to ventilate, but it's not that bad.
Very pleasant stay, nice hotel, very friendly staff. While the room equipment for storing your clothes etc. may be suitable for short stays, it is a bit sparse for longer stays. I will gladly return.
I have not received my invoice for stay on 28-29 January 2026, Please send the invoice because i am not able to contact you
Location was great. Close to transportation and shopping. Room was clean and very quiet, which surprised me because our room faced the street and was right next to the elevator. But we didn't hear a thing. Folks at the reception were wonderful. Always friendly and very patient with us when asking for directions or places to go. Lobby was cozy in the evenings to just sit and have a drink. I would definitely stay at this hotel again should I be in Amsterdam.
A hospitality experience begins at the front desk, but unfortunately, the treatment I received from the staff member on duty was unprofessional and dismissive. Specifically: Lack of Professionalism: Upon arrival, I was not greeted. The staff member appeared more interested in talking with other guest for things non-relevant to duty of reception, than assisting me. When I inquired about ehat is the next step after taking my luggage at night (as i early arrive the hotel before check in time), the response was delivered in a condescending and impatient manner. The young female staff member on duty (Caucasian, working the late-night desk on 16 Apr 2026) exhibited a level of service that I found to be highly unprofessional and disrespectful. This is the worst check-in experience. Other than that unprofessional staff, other reception staffs are nice and helpful
Very clean, helpful staff, very comfortable beds. The location is also very good, near both the metro and the train to the airport. Good breakfast, hot bread and coffee. Thank you so much for everything!!!
Everything great. The only thing missing that there wasn't a plastic bag in the trash can
Staff was very friendly, room was bright and clean. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choices. Great central location to walk to many places.
Friendly staff, professionally run operations.
All staff very friendly and helpful. A very comfortable room. A great breakfast Shame not to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room
Last-minute booking, good price this night by online booking the room, kind people at the desk, good too, good sleep!
We chose Motel One for our trip to Amsterdam because it’s close to the airport (15 minutes) and the city center. It’s very well connected, with the metro just a 5-minute walk away. The rooms are beautiful, modern, clean, and very quiet. The hotel overall is very nice. The breakfast is excellent. It’s a pity there aren’t any places nearby where you can have dinner.
Very friendly staff. Hotel in a great location close to places of interest and good bars and restaurants. We didn’t have breakfast or use the bar/lounge but both seemed very popular. Room had everything you needed and beds very comfortable. We would stay again!
Bare bones room no amenities. Room was too hot.The only way I could cool it down was to open the window, which made it exceptionally.Noisy.
Switch on. beOne.

Amsterdam
The relaxed metropolis
Relaxed, cosy, diverse and charming. A stay in our design hotels in Amsterdam lets you experience the uniquely charming spirit of the Dutch capital to the full. Amsterdam can transform itself from one street to the next, and a single wander can show you winding alleyways, dreamy houseboats, monumental squares and the notorious red-light district. Just a short break here is enough to get a taste. For a weekend get-away or city break of unparalleled relaxation, nothing beats this ever-changing port city. Although relatively compact, Amsterdam entertains millions of visitors every year, proving size isn’t everything.

Urban canals, history-laden sights and world-class museums make Amsterdam unique. The network of “grachten” that intersects Amsterdam comprises 165 canals with a total length of 100 km. And did you know that about 8,000 bikes get fished out of the canals every year!
The Kingdom of the Netherlands’s capital boasts multitudinous coffee shops, attracting a mainly international crowd. And if you’re looking for the best in international night-life, the urbane and lively scene round the Leidseplein or Rembrandtplein has plenty to satisfy. Cafés, bars, and clubs hosting international stars and DJs are ten a penny.
Amsterdam’s Canal District was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2010. The grachten provide an unforgettable way to tour the city. If you're in the mood for a bit of exercise, you can brave the waters in a pedalo, or for a lazier conveyance, take a guided boat tour. There are even more spectacular options on hand: the “Floating Dutchman” amphibious vehicle will roll through the streets then float you right on to the canals.
One day in Amsterdam: Amstelpark, Damplatz and the Anne Frank House
Canal highlights include the “Golden Bend”, the 15 bridges between Reguliersgracht and Herengracht, and the picturesquely illuminated “Skinny Bridge”. The locals have a definite affinity for the water, as demonstrated by the houseboats lining the banks.
If you’re looking for a spot of greenery during your visit to Amsterdam, Our Design Hotel is handy for the Amstelpark, the expansive grounds of which receive nearly a million visitors a year and include a rhododendron garden, maze and Japanese-style garden – a perfect setting for a relaxing stroll.
History and art is also of course well represented. Three of the country’s most important sites – the Anne Frank House, Van Gogh Museum and Het Rembrandthuis museum are nearby. Dam Square is a bustling hub of Amsterdam’s diverse metropolis, but also has an interesting history, and is lined with impressive architecture.
