Great location, friendly staff, very nice bar area, room was good clean and practical.
All staff are professional, helpful & friendly. Cleanliness exceptional. Wonderful bar area. Excellent stay & thank you for helping with our property left in the safe.
Friendly staff. Lovely decor, clean and light room. Brilliant location.
One night stay. Clean tidy and room reasonable. Reception and bar area lovely Staff really nice and helpful
small room but very clean, friendly staff and great location.
Good position, comfortable room. Clean and tiny.
The hotel has many positives. It is located very close to the train station, a friendly helpful staff, close to activities, and a gin bar. Our room had what we needed with a view. Our rate did not include the continental breakfast. We preferred a hot breakfast nearby.
Bar minimum essentials in room
Great hotel in a terrific location with discount parking thrown in
Friendly staff. Nice, clean rooms. Great location.
Pros: the location is excellent and staff are nice. We also found our room very quiet. The breakfast quality is good although perhaps a little expensive for what is provided. Value for money was good for central Edinburgh (which has generally become very expensive). Cons: our room was dark and small (it was a disability-accessible room, reportedly larger than most, but it still felt small). The hot water in our bathroom not really hot but merely warm -- just barely warm enough for a shower. The bathroom did not have enough shelf space and clothing storage in the room was minimal.
Not great! - Location is good but that's about it. Hotel is somewhat dated. Rooms sparse. No iron/ironing board in room. £240 a night! breakfast was very European continental. My Croissant would have knocked somebody out it was so hard! Some staff happy, some moody. No one on reception on arrival.
Great breakfast plus location. Friendly and helpful staff. Only small problem was having painters in hallway though not a big one.
The location was perfect for us, the staff one of the friendliest I’ve had in a hotel and the room was comfy - just what you need after a busy day in Edinburgh
Great location, well designed and stylish room, great staff
Comfortable accommodation which meet all our needs fora short stay. Room was clean and well presented. The gentleman in the next room had a small dog that barked whenever it was taken for a walk which was a bit annoying but it only lasted a few moments.
The hotel is very good located and all staff members were absolutely fantastic-friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Our room was a bit small this time but very clean and cozy.
Nice hotel, great breakfast.
Friendly welcome, modern rooms with everything you need. Great location.
We had a great stay and will return
Very impressed with the hotel. Spotlessly clean in all areas. Very comfortable and large bed.
Absolutely perfect location for our very short stay. Staff were very friendly and extremly helpful.
Enjoyed our overnight stay and appreciated the hotel being so close to Waverly Station. We would hope to stay again.
We had a wonderful four days here. The hotel is in an excellent location, the rooms are very spacious and comfortable, and the staff are all friendly and ready to help. Shoutout to Nancy especially—she made us feel totally at home! Come visit us in Shanghai whenever you get a chance!
Excellent friendly and helpful staff. Excellent clean hotel and ideally situated
Amazing location, moderately comfortable rooms, good value.
Great location, clean, air conditioning, and very comfortable!
Excellent location! Friendly reception, small but comfortable room.
Great spot to be. Everything excellent. Location, staff, breakfast, cleanliness. All 100%
Had a wonderful 4 nights stay at MotelOne Princes Street. The location is excellent, just opposite the Edinburgh Waverley Station. The hotel has many stores and restaurants nearby. The city view from our third floor room was awesome. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall - Excellent.
Hotel has a fantastic location in Edinburgh. Staff are always very helpful and friendly. Bar area is chilled & immaculately clean.
While the breakfast was delicious and there were many options, the two times I ate there, many dirty dishes were left on table. The room was very small but the location was excellent. I thought it was an expensive place to stay but didn't compare it to other properties in the area. In the bar, the alcohol menu needs updating - some of the gins I asked about weren't available and the bartender said he had never seen them.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
The front desk was was friendly and helpful. The location could not have been more perfect for transportation and centrally located to shoppinn and restaurants. The room was clean and had what we needed though the bed was not comfortable.
short, but the bed was comfy, bathroom clean and big, breakfast had good options
The rooms have very little storage space such as shelves or small cabinets to store clothes. Also, there should be a phone in the room.
So disappointing… from the very start when a grumpy receptionist barely gave us the time of day to the most inadequately resourced room I’ve ever been in. Disappointed from beginning to end. Absolutely poor value for money and I would not stay there again.
Your customer service was amazing. Everyone we spoke to was extremely helpful and kind. It was amazing to me. The room was nicely decorated and very smart in the arrangement and decor.
Very cute themed hotel, it is in a great location. Clean and embrace the marathon theme.
Hotel was really clean and the staff were amazing so helpful and just really nice people.
Clean and comfortable overall but room 214 has an “accessible “ bathroom with a very low wash basin which I personally did not need, so I found it very difficult to use as I had to bend down so low. Being tall. You should only use this room for guests who need the use of a very low wash basin.
Very comfortable and well maintained rooms. Very helpful and pleasant staff.
Clean, convenient, perfect location. Room was small and layout was less than ideal
We paid £250 for a small, dimly lit, and bare room with a tiny bathroom that provided only soap (no shampoo or conditioner). The breakfast was modest, with nothing cooked except boiled eggs. The lobby also doubled as the breakfast room, and there were not enough electrical outlets (not even one next to the small table where a computer would eventually be used). While we were there, the hotel was essentially under renovation: there were protective sheets on the corridor floors, workers constantly around, the smell of paint everywhere, and, most importantly, the workers showed little consideration for guests, even occupying the elevator with their carts without giving priority to hotel guests. Of course, the location is excellent, and the room was clean, but even by Edinburgh standards, the price is disproportionate to what was offered. If the property is being renovated, it should be closed to guests during the works.
The check in was smooth and warm welcomed. The room size is good. Breakfast is delicious with choices of bakery, eggs, fruits and coffee! Location is convinient to every attractions in city center. Train station is across of the road.
I feel welcomed. Great location, nice personal.
I had a wonderful stay in an beautiful city. Check-in was pleasant and swift, I was able to check in early and leave my bags in my room before my meeting which was really helpful. The reception team was always cheerful and friendly. Breakfast was easy and efficient. I loved the writing on the eggs, what a fun idea. I was recommended this hotel by someone who has stayed here before and I will be recommending this in the future myself as well. Thank you to the whole team. An enjoyable visit.
It was a pleasure to stay and your staff are excellent. My room (200) was very convenient as I had heavy luggage this visit. The room rate was £227 incl breakfast which I enjoyed in your lovely bar area. I’ve stayed several times before and always enjoyed my visits. The location is excellent but this room was small and a little gloomy with no outlook so it didn’t seem nearly as good value as the larger rooms I’d had before with better views (or as in some other branches but I suppose that’s just Edinburgh prices being very high). Small things that would make a big difference, especially if I was staying longer than one night, would be having a proper glass and mugs in the room, a proper box of tissues rather than just a few and a small fridge. Post-Covid it seems odd and rather mean to have only paper cups. I still look forward to visiting again when I need to return to Edinburgh.
Your staff was fantastic Angus was the best ever helped us book ryan air fantastic stay with you
We were in a lovely spacious room with an excellent view of the

Hotel Edinburgh Princes
Being the capital of Scotland, Edinburgh naturally has a long history with royal personages. In our Motel One Edinburgh-Princes we’ve cannily picked up on Scotland's royalty-related motifs, welcoming visitors with illustrious design combining antique candelabras and opulent velvet sofas. From the booths of the second-floor bar, there are majestic views onto the famed Princes Street and Edinburgh's history, while in our One Lounge, you can start the day in imperious fashion with a healthy breakfast, and relax later on in the company of royal portraits.
And the area around this Design Hotel at Waverley Station is well worth exploring, with the National Gallery of Scotland, Carlton Hill and Edinburgh Castle just a short stroll away. If you’re travelling on business, our design hotel is just as handy for Edinburgh International Conference Centre and the airport.
