The hotel and the service were really nice. Everyone was friendly and courteous, everything was clean. One small point of criticism, however, is the breakfast: it is served in the bar, which is furnished with lounge furniture. In addition, the light in the morning was far too dark, so there was hardly any breakfast atmosphere. What is cozy in the evening unfortunately turns out to be quite uncomfortable when eating in the morning, as the tables are too low and the chairs too deep. Classic tables and chairs would be much more comfortable here. We missed scrambled eggs. And unfortunately, there are no more toothbrush cups.

Magdeburg dates back more than 1,200 years, and you can feel its rich history as soon as you step outside of your hotel and into the city. Situated on the bank of the Elbe river, our Motel One faces Magdeburg Cathedral, the symbol of the city and one of Germany's first Gothic cathedrals. Experience the tranquillity of this impressive place of worship and contemplate its many significant exhibits from various art periods. The early Gothic sandstone sculptures, famous statues at the gate and canons’ choir stalls grant you fascinating insights. The second architectural highlight of the cathedral district is right on our doorstep: the Green Citadel (it’s actually pink) is considered one of Hundertwasser's most significant pieces. Another attraction within walking distance of our hotel is the old town hall, whose history dates back to the 12th century.
