Bonn-bastic Art!

Gudrun Barenbrock loves experiments. In cooperation with musicians and sound artists, the Cologne artist combines video art and paintings, turning them into transmedial, dynamic installations that form a relationship with space. The master student from the University of Fine Arts Münster has created a unique combination of moving images and music for Motel One, which captures the free spirit of Beethoven. See for yourself!

Let the music play

Our first hotel in Bonn, situated on the banks of the Rhine, will be music to your ears – and not just because you’ll be staying right next to the Bonn opera house. Our design hotel in the birthplace of Ludwig van Beethoven incorporates music into its look. The incredible composer and namesake of our Motel One Bonn-Beethoven will accompany you from breakfast through to after-work drinks. His chamber music, piano pieces and symphonies are characterised in the interior design, and the lobby and bar are themed around his world-famous Ode to Joy, which is visualised in a large-scale artwork by the Cologne painter and video artist Gudrun Barenbrock. Light-hearted design details like trumpet-shaped lights and abstract wall designs reminiscent of a concert audience are the perfect finishing touch to the hotel in Bonn. There are also listening stations, such as at the workbench, where you can enjoy the hotel’s own Beethoven channel and experience the musician’s genius with your own ears.

The design hotel in Bonn is the perfect location for classical music lovers, situated right by the Bonn opera house and the Beethoven House, while the Bonn Minster, the Electoral Palace and numerous museums can all be reached on foot for culture fans. Take a trip through time back to when Bonn was the capital of Germany: visit the nearby Chancellor’s Bungalow to follow the footsteps of Konrad Adenauer and his contemporaries and relive some of Germany’s political history. Business travellers benefit from excellent connections to Bonn’s central station, the exhibition grounds in Cologne and the airport. And if you want to enjoy the outdoors, the banks of the Rhine and the Rheinaue Leisure Park are perfect for a leisurely stroll. Book your affordable room at the Motel One Bonn-Beethoven today...and you’ll soon be asking for an encore!
