Participants and participation
The contest is open to all individuals over the age of 18 who are permanent residents of the EU or Switzerland. This excludes employees of Motel One, Vueling and SIXT and their relatives. Only one entry per person is permitted for the prize. Failure to comply with any of the rules will lead to the exclusion of the participant from the contest. Similarly, any attempted manipulation will result in exclusion from the contest.
Contest period and prizes
Entries open on 1 September 2022 at 8am. The entry deadline is 11 September 2022 at midnight.
To enter the contest, participants need to follow the official Motel One Instagram account (https://www.instagram.com/motel_one/) and also be a member of the free beOne membership programme (https://booking.motel-one.com/en/register).
The winner will receive a voucher for a two-night stay, including breakfast, in a double room at Motel One Barcelona-Ciutadella. The voucher can be redeemed until 31 March 2023, subject to availability and outside of trade fair and event periods.
Flights to and from Barcelona for two people will be provided by Vueling Airlines SA. To redeem the voucher, the voucher code must be sent to Vueling. The voucher is valid until 31 March 2023. The booking must be made at least four weeks prior to departure. The voucher is valid for a return flight from Germany to Barcelona on a direct Vueling flight. One piece of checked baggage per person (up to 25 kg) is included. Flights during the following periods are excluded: 22/6-5/9/22; 29/9-4/10/22; 28/10-2/11/22; 16/12-31/12/22; 2023 – TBA. The voucher may not be sold.
The winner will also receive a voucher for free hire car rental from SIXT. The voucher is valid until 31 March 2023.
Terms and conditions:
- Vouchers may only be redeemed online.
- A change of reservation using a voucher code is excluded.
- Cash payment or refund is not possible.
- Only one voucher may be redeemed per person and per booking.
- Online prepaid rates and corporate rates are excluded.
- It cannot be combined with other vouchers.
- Residual value expires (if voucher value is higher than rental value).
In addition, the following terms and conditions must be defined individually per voucher:
- Validity: 05.09.2022 - 31.03.2023
- Voucher redeemable in Spain.
- Latest car return: 03.04.2023
- Valid for rentals from 1 day.
- Valid for rentals of groups of all vehicles.
- No vehicle group can be booked bindingly.
Disclaimer/changes to the eligibility requirements
Motel One assumes no liability for the availability of the Motel One website. Motel One assumes no liability for any potential transmission errors.
Premature termination of and changes to the contest
Motel One reserves the right to terminate or change the contest without prior notice at any time if the correct implementation of the contest cannot be guaranteed for technical or other reasons or if the fairness of the contest appears to have been compromised. Participants will not derive any claims from such events.
Other provisions
There shall be no recourse to legal action. Participants will have no enforceable claims to the prize or redemption thereof in cash. These eligibility requirements and the entire legal relationship between the participant and Motel One are governed exclusively by German law. Should individual clauses of the eligibility requirements be or become invalid, the validity of the remaining clauses will remain unaffected.
Final clause
This contest is not affiliated with Instagram. It is in no way sponsored, supported or organised by Instagram. Any information submitted by participants is received not by Instagram but by Motel One. All submitted information is used for the sole purpose of conducting the contest. The participants release Instagram from any liability that may result from claims arising from the contest (in particular, its publication and organisation). Any questions, comments or complaints about the contests shall be directed to Motel One and not Instagram.

II. Purpose and scope of data processing and legal basis
For the purpose of running the contest, the controller collects and stores participants’ names and other personal data provided by participants on Facebook. After the winner is chosen, they will also be asked to provide their address, which will be processed for the purpose of sending them the prize. The winner’s name will then be shared on Facebook with their consent. The legal basis for processing is Art. 6 para. 1 (b) GDPR, as the data is required to fulfil a contract with the participants. If the winner consents to their personal data being shared on Facebook, the legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 (a) GDPR.
III. Disclosure to third parties
Data is not disclosed to third parties. Data processing by Facebook occurs entirely independently of the data processing undertaken for the contest. Please refer to Facebook’s privacy policy in this regard: de-de.facebook.com/policy
IV. Duration of storage
All data is deleted within 30 days of the end of the contest.
