The check-in and check-out process was very quick and easy, the staff were super friendly. The room was clean, tidy and had everything I needed. I like that the TV with the 'fireplace' was switched on when I walked in; this made the room feel cosy from the get-go. Thanks again!
Hotel is nice, rooms are a little small but fine for a night or two. Corridors were a little noisy but on a weekend stay in such a great location thats not surprising. Location is perfect. Check in was very easy and fast. Rooms were clean, beds were comfy.
Room was clean, hotel was nice, staff were friendly. My only gripe was that the room was very small with no wardrobe or drawers. I had to shimmy around the room like a crab.
I always enjoy staying at Motel 1 Royal Exchange, as the staff are really welcoming and friendly. The room we had this time was super, overlooking the town hall clock, and unlike many hotels we had such a great night sleep as the bed was incredibly comfortable.
Comfortable, clean rooms and fresh, tasty breakfast buffet. All of your staff are lovely and always make me feel very welcome!
Pleasantly surprised at how nice the room was in terms of decoration and condition.
Great hotel, right in the heart of Manchester city center. Its clean and comfortable and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We've used this hotel many times and we wouldn't stay anywhere else in Manchester.
Disappointing, breakfast, expensive & not much choice. Poor parking garage doors struggled to open, you have to park on a double yellow line and get a fob from reception. If you’re on your own you’ve got a chance of a parking ticket ,breakfast cold due to cold plates & you couldn’t call this in English breakfast. initially, we thought the room was clean until we found a blood spot on one of the pillowcases luckily we didn’t have to use this pillow
Lovely hotel. Well decorated. Lovely bar area. Great amenities. Hot breakfast would be nice. Option for early check in would be good, as there was quite a queue at 3pm. Only toilet for the bar area is downstairs, only accessed from one lift. Only bin in the room was in the bathroom.
Great value for money Staff friendly and very welcoming. Room had all we needed. The bed was so comfortable Great central location
No bin in the main room and no lids on the hot drink mugs which was disappointing. Everything else was fine
The breakfast at this motel one compared to St Peter’s was so good, so much option including hot food! The room and building was nice, the aircon is quite loud and the walls feel quite thin. But overall a really nice hotel and good location for getting around. The WiFi wasn’t working for me very well this time but it has been fine before.
From booking to check out, the experience is positive. Good people, great location.
Lovely hotel with great lounge / bar area for relaxing. By far the highlight is the excellent staff. So friendly and helpful, a delight. They were all brilliant and so welcoming. Rooms are small but comfortable for a short stay. Showers are very nice, modern with lots of hot water and the toiletries smell gorgeous.
The hotel is a good standard. My only feedback is there was an issue with the lamps, 2 of them did not work so had to leave the main light on in the evening, Not very relaxing. The bathroom was lovely but mold had started to appear on the grouting in the bathroom. The room had been turned over whilst we were out but rubbish and dirty cups had been left in the room.
Nice hotel and room. Great location - in the city centre but not noisy. Arrived early and was able to check-in and access our room straight away. Got a free large bottle of water - choice of still or sparkling. Check-out time is 12pm which was brilliant.
Very enjoyable stay!
Great location and value for money
Friendly helpful staff, comfortable rooms, convient for city centre facilities
Fab place to stay and staff are lovely
Good room very comfortable and quiet Hotel is in great position Battery dead in room safe should get cleaning staff to check every now and again
Location is great in Central Manchester, close to lots of amenities and transport links. Check-in and check-out was simple and room was clean and well serviced. Room was quite small but was as advertised. Staff provided luggage storage on check-out which was helpful. Would happily book here again.
There was a massive dog staying at he same time as me. Frightening because it would not have been able to be controlled if it has gone rogue but the relatively small lady with it. It barked once in my presence which was scary. Id not like to see that at the hotel again
A great hotel, location very central. Nice relaxing bar and foyer area. Clean room with everything you need & very helpful staff.
Issues with the booking, room not cleaned and notice not given on the existing policy. Personnel kind and supportive in addrethe matters. Kind regards
Basic hotel nothing fancy very centrally located
I have stopped loads of times never a problem.
Location good. Reception nice with great services. Breakfast good
Hello.. Our stay with you was very good with all staff welcoming and very friendly, particularly Ginerva who was extreemly helpful with local knowledge including shops and chinatown along with restaurant recommendation plus helping personally in and out of the carpark.
Rooms need work. Felt like old council flats.
A really well-located budget hotel. Really friendly and helpful staff, which made the visit great. The room was a little worn, but clean, and the shower was powerful and hot. The bed wasn't mega-comfortable, but was ok. Continental breakfast was decent with a nice range of pastries / muesli/fruit yoghurt options. The fruit could have been a little fresher. The hot breakfast was simple - with sausage, egg (scrambled), hash browns, bacon offered. All tasty - and the really good crispy bacon is worth a special mention. Standard hotel slice-able scrambled eggs, but was overall the breakfast for the price was good enough, the bread was fresh, and hot drinks and juice were included. Overall, for a very central Manchester stay on a budget, it's to be recommended.
poor view of city but lovely room
Good: 1) Hotel location is good, cafe shopping restaurant just around the corner 2) Clean 3) Breakfast with good variety choices and taste good Improvement: 1) There's a carpark at the same building which should serve a plus for this hotel, however it locate at a small alley behind the hotel with both directions traffic; Moreover hotel requires me to park my car outside the hotel, went into the reception to get the fob key so to open the carpark gate, return the fob key everytime after use. Inside the carpark also narrow, which I saw a lot of scratches around the road corners, it is not a friendly parking space at all. Suggest the hotel can use the room card key instead of fob key for the opening of the gate, also have designated car park space for each guest
Very friendly at quick at reception. Room was very clean.Great value for area of Manchester. Really can't fault this hotel at all.
Overall the hotel was lovely with very friendly staff who gave us an extra bottle of water and put us on the top floor for great views. The room was okay, but the available pillows and thermostat made it less than perfect. We really struggled to get the room to an acceptable temperature as we both kept waking up overheating because the thermostat had turned off. The pillow options were also bit weird, either a giant soft one or a small supportive one which didn't help with sleep either. That being said, I would stay there again if I brought my own pillow and a fan.
Room was a lot more basic that I expected, and whilst staff were all very lovely, basic services like having an iron brought to the room were lacking.
Room was extremely warm. Had to ask reception to turn heating off as controls in room did not work. Also very noisy through the night due to first floor room with outside noise
An attractive hotel. Small rooms but adequate. Good effort at breakfast which was brought in as no kitchen. A bit expensive on that basis but no real complaints apart from my room was near some sort of building site and I was awoken at 6.30am Sunday by building work and clanging scaffolding which was still going on at 9.30 when I went for breakfast
the overall stay was good being convenient for our purposes, carpark and bar area. i thought the cost at £230 for one night was excessive given the size of the room, view from the window and plastic coffee cups.
Same as always, comfortable, clean and quiet, with reception staff being very accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble.
The reception team is absolutely lovely and the room was great. Unfortunately, the housekeeping staff skipped my room multiple times by simply putting a "we couldn't clean before 2pm" sign on my door before I left at 10am. The reception staff was really lovely in providing fresh towels and new tea etc though but I wish that hassle could have been avoided.
Everything was fine apart from one problem - When I arrived the gates to the car park were open so easy to park without having to try and get the gate fob. However when leaving the gates did not open and there was two of us trying to exit and neither fobs appeared to operate correctly but eventually did open - Did not report at the time as the other car owner handled my in for me Other than that every else was ok
The room itself is lovely but cleaning standards are not up to par. Room refreshes - coffee cups were taken away and not replenished. on 2 occasions the towels i was given were dirty - one had a plaster stuck to it and the other black marks which looked like make up the walls of the rooms are also paper thin. every night was disrupted due to external noises.
Friendly efficient check in. Clean rooms. Good breakfast choice.
Lovely staff
Efficiency of check in, room cleanliness and comfort, high quality breakfast
The property was nice and clean, excellent service provided by Maguy!
Staff helpful. Hotel modern and rooms clean. Bed comfy. Excellent location. Reasonable prices.
my stay was for business. the room was clean and my stay was very pleasant. i did mention that one of the bedside lights (room 631) needed a bulb replaced. apart from that everything was fine. thank you
Excellent stay.

Location and surroundings
Hotel Manchester Royal Exchange
Our Motel One Manchester-Royal Exchange is designed with a trendy faux-industrial look in memory of Manchester’s golden era when it was known as “Cottonopolis”: all about cotton as a raw material and its processing. The foyer is dominated by six-metre high round steel arches and a wall of printed cloth, as a foretaste of our theme. Furniture by Baxter and hanging lamps by Alturo Alvarez are complemented by details such as spools of thread and spinning machines.
The main eye-catcher is a wall installation entitled "Cottonopolis" by paper artist Andy Singleton, composed entirely of shapes cast by innumerable single threads.
Our affordable hotel is situated right opposite the Royal Exchange Theatre in the very heart of Manchester. The Town Hall, Manchester Cathedral, Manchester Arena and the Manchester Central Convention Complex are within walking distance, and both Victoria and Manchester Piccadilly stations are within easy reach.
Visit us in Manchester and find out about the centre of the cotton trade.

Cool Cotton
Classic British furniture, paper sculptures and more will transport you to "Cottonopolis" - 19th century Manchester.

Cutting Edge
Paper artist Andy Singleton has proven a steady hand for Motel One Manchester-Royal.
