Hotel was great, simple but everything we needed and staff were really friendly, would definitely stay again.
Hotel was clean with staff very welcoming. Onsite car park was very useful. Good location within the city centre. Only issue I had was being overcharged, I queried this when checking out and was told someone would be in touch to arrange a refund but up to now, I haven’t heard anything.

I was a bit surprised that the prices are now changing constantly. I stayed in Motel One Hotels many times and one of the benefits for me was to know in advance what the room rate would be. I booked the room months in advance and then had to book another room at short notice and this room was much cheaper.
I have always booked Motel 1 when I'm in Manchester. The standard of the rooms is very good, location ideal. Booking and check in straightforward.
I expected the room to be cleaned automatically after the first night. When I spoke to reception they advised no I needed to tell them if i wanted it cleaned which wasn't great. Also I asked for an Iron and Ironing board and was handed one to carry through reception and to my room.
This is the second time I have stayed here in two weeks. I really enjoyed my first stay which is why I booked again, but I was a little disappointed with my second stay. On this occasion, I did not feel the room was as clean, with the carpet still having blonde hairs and what looked like dog hair on the floor. There was also a strong odour of vinegar, and I had to ensure the air conditioning was on constantly to try and circulate the air, and I opened the window. They could also not get my keycard to open the doors to the stairs, so each time I wanted to go into my room I have to wait at reception for someone to become available, so they could take me to the stairs, as I don't like lifts. The staff were very friendly, the bed comfy and the hotel quiet, so it was not terrible.

A nice hotel overall in an excellent location with friendly and attentive staff. A shame that a few details let it down. Mattress was comfortable but pillows were awful. Carpet was sticky in parts, and no hotel slippers are provided so i had to walk around in my socks. Only one bin in the room (in the bathroom). Breakfast had a range of options (nothing cooked fresh for you, all continental buffet) but few of them were especially good, the coffee (from a dispenser, no barista) was poor (if I had known I wouldn't have opted for breakfast as there are plenty of places nearby).

I was disappointed to be given a disabled room as I did not ask for one. I am 6 foot tall and the sink by the toilet was too low for my legs when I used the toilet. The shower head was too low too. Also, the door did not shut properly when I closed it as it would not lock. I mentioned all of this to the front desk when I checked out. I didn't have time to complain about the room when I checked in as I had an appointment to go to soon after. Finally, I was not sent my invoice automatically to my email address. I had to phone the hotel and ask for it to be emailed to me.
The hotel room overall was great for a one night stay, however the only thing that was a problem was that all the tv channels were in German and there was no English subtitles or a way to change it.
The hotel was fine, but the room smelt so strongly of air freshener, or cleaning fluid or something, that it gave me a headache the minute I walked in.
Didn’t know what to expect. Passed by many times. Was very pleasantly surprised how nice the hotel was. Clean. Kind staff. Really nice.
Very welcomed on my arrival at reception. Staff very friendly and helpful as always when stay here. The whole experience id always of good high standard.

Lovely hotel, room was nice and comfy and the reception and bar area was well decorated. I’d stay again for sure. Location is perfect for both Victoria and Piccadilly train stations.

A very nice hotel in a great location, unfortunately our first night was interrupted by someone playing loud music in the room next to us, when we told the gentleman on reception in the morning he didn't even acknowledge our concern and basically ignored us, we then told a lady on the reception later in the day & got the same response (is this how they are trained to deal with these situations) We booked for 3 nights but under 2 different bookings (1 booking for the first night & the second booking for the last 2 nights) When we got there on the first night we were told that was fine and we could just stay in the same room but after the first night with the noise next door they didn't do anything to help so we had to book out and then book in after 3PM the next day so we had to kill time around Manchester with having had a dreadful night sleep, we felt like we were being treated as the people in the wrong, this put us off & we would put us off staying in this specific motel one again. We have stayed in other Motel Ones in Manchester & Newcastle and always found the staff very helpful & friendly, far from what we got here.
Great location, easy to find and in such a convenient area of Manchester. Lovely room with a brilliant view and a lovely bathroom.

Great location. The room is dark though. The shower was not great it was fixed with tape. But I couldn't be bothered to move room. Probably best to get it fixed for the next guest. I got bitten in the face by a bug. I did tell reception. Probably should have had a small discretionary refund

The room was extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean, the shower excellent (lots of hot water, good pressure), and the amenities outstanding. The bar is a pleasant place for a late-night drink. Very good breakfast with a good selection of options. All this would be reason enough to return to Motel One but the courteous, helpful and supremely efficient staff are the best thing about this chain. As ever, a great experience.
This is the 2nd time I have stayed here, and now, will always be my first choice. It is in a great location, really central, and there is a car park, 5 minutes away. The hotel is tastefully decorated, the rooms have everything you need, including tea and coffee facilities, hairdryer, and hair and shower gel. All the staff were lovely. There is a lovely chilled vibe, I sat in the reception area in the morning,waiting for my friend it was nice and relaxed. I didn't have the breakfast, but they offer continental style. Overall, great experience.
Beautiful hotel, very clean, staff really helpful and friendly, location amazing, only slight criticism is the lighting in the rooms but that’s just me I like it bright! Would definitely recommend and would most certainly rebook x

Good hotel, friendly, clean inviting reception. Booked this hotel for the location near to AOArena and station. The hotel is ideal for the Arndale centre and the royal exchange and we will stay here again for the next event.

This hotel was very clean and the decoration is beautiful. The rooms are lovely and have everything you need for your stay. The staff where friendly and helpful. The bar area is a lovely calming area great place to start of your night here with cocktails made at a great standard. I would definitely stay again.
Amazing hotel, clean and smells lovley in the reception area. Rooms are lovley with a great shower. In the perfect location round the corner from the Arndale center lots of place to get food and drink and about a 10-15 min walk to the ao arena. We will definitely be back when we are next in Manchester.

I have stayed at Motel one Royal Exchange and few times now and have always found the staff friendly, rooms pleasant and location very convenient for work and leisure. I didn't use the WiFi, bar or have breakfast. My one request/recommendation is that the main entrance allow automatic entry using key cards when reception is unmanned. A group of other guests and I were left waiting outside at 2am Friday morning when no-one was responding to the intercom system.
Super central hotel in walking distance to AO arena and train station. Staff were really friendly and made us feel welcome. Price was good and rooms were clean. Overall very impressed. Thank you ☺️

Our Motel One Manchester-Royal Exchange is designed with a trendy faux-industrial look in memory of Manchester’s golden era when it was known as “Cottonopolis”: all about cotton as a raw material and its processing. The foyer is dominated by six-metre high round steel arches and a wall of printed cloth, as a foretaste of our theme. Furniture by Baxter and hanging lamps by Alturo Alvarez are complemented by details such as spools of thread and spinning machines.
The main eye-catcher is a wall installation entitled "Cottonopolis" by paper artist Andy Singleton, composed entirely of shapes cast by innumerable single threads.
