Excellent value for money, perfect position for shopping and eateries. Beautiful hotel, only faults are... the room was very small and there's no hanging space or storage, but apart from that it's a gorgeous place.
Motel One Manchester- Royal Exchange is a great favourite of mine in the city centre. It’s all about the staff who are truly exceptional. If you’re looking for a traditional cooked breakfast, you won’t find one here, thankfully, but the continental selection, including meats, cheeses, hummus, tomatoes and cucumber is just the best. My only disappointment this time was my room. It’s an old building and so the rooms can be odd shapes. Whoever designed my Special One with a View made a mess of it as the dead space made what is usually a good sized Special One, feel cramped. The foot of the bed was too near the window, making it too difficult to get from one side of the room to the other. The receptionist was extremely helpful and offered to move me but I couldn’t face the upheaval. It didn’t detract from my enjoyment of the hotel overall but I was a bit disappointed by my room this time.
Enjoyed our stay, great location. Nice staff. Breakfast was reasonable. I would definitely come back if ever visiting Manchester again
Excellent experience at the right price
Clean, and modern decor. Paid extra 10 pounds for more space however was in a box so was surprised that's what I got for more money tbh. I also wish the parking was more controlled was extremely hard to get out.
Great location and very helpful staff
Staff were most helpful after a bit of a hiccup initially
Well located modern hotel in the centre of Manchester. Fully air conditioned too which is very welcome during the Summer. Friendly staff. Will definitely return.
The staff are always friendly, polite, well informed and professional. I enjoy staying at this hotel very frequently.
Great location along with the usual comfy rooms, friendly staff and relaxing bar. What’s not to like about Motel One?
A lovely hotel in a great location. I had not heard of this chain of hotels before, but we needed somewhere to stay in the centre of Manchester for three nights and this represented great value for money and it had parking. It was much more than that though. Parking is £25 a day but you would pay that at any city centre car park and it was onsite and secure. When we arrived I popped in to the reception to ask how to access the car park and a lovely member of the reception team came with me to show us where it was and to open the secured gate for us. Once we were safely parked we got the lift up one level to reception, we checked in and were given our room key. The room was not huge but it had everything we needed for a weekend stay, a large bed, one comfy chair, a small table with tea and coffee making facilities, a safe, a large tv which defaults to tropical fish swimming around when first turned on and a decent bathroom with a walk in shower. We didn't have the room serviced whilst we were there so we replenished our supply of teabags and milk from reception when required. The hotel itself is bright and modern with lots of comfy seating. A large reception desk was always manned so we never had to wait to be served. There is also a large bar which we took advantage of on our return on two of the nights. The staff were always friendly and helpful amidst all the comings and goings of a busy city centre hotel. It's the ideal place to stay and we wouldn't hesitate to return to this hotel when we are next in Manchester.
We've stayed at this hotel both times we've visited Manchester and would absolutely stay here again. The staff are really friendly and ready to help with any questions or problems. The room was really spacious and cleaned well each day.
Always stay here when in Manchester. Great location, cleanliness of rooms constantly very good and all staff from front of house to cleaning staff helpful and very polite. Would recommend.
My 2nd time visiting this hotel and I think it's great. The prices, value, service, friendliness and cleanliness are great. I must give special credit to Georgina on reception and Mario (Bar Manager) who I thought were fab. For me, the bed was too low and too soft - my wife however thought her bed was perfect. I would have liked there to have been decaffeinated tea and coffee available, and skimmed or semi-skimmed milk. But I will be back!
Wow what a beautiful hotel beautiful staff Stephen on reception a little gem lovely room great night sleep delicious continental breakfast & spot on parking so secure.👍😀😀
Ideal location, clean and friendly staff
Great experience from booking to checking out!
Given the very reasonable price we paid for the room we were most pleasantly surprised by the value received. Not only was the accommodation clean, modern, stylish and comfortable but it was extremely quiet even though it was well located in the city centre.
Lovely quiet bedroom. Nice and clean,I had a comfy stay.
Hotel in a great location. Third time I've been to the hotel. Always receive courteous treatment from the staff. Small but compact rooms. Rich breakfast.
comfortable and convenient
Adequate best sums up this hotel, the room is adequate although there was no hot water in the shower and the TV had no connection to whatever Freeview service is used. The breakfast is underwhelming at best. However on the plus side its location is great and the bar area is nice and modern.
We stay at Motel One quite regularly. Our air conditioning was not working in our room. We were told twice that it would be fixed but wasn’t and when we went to check out and talked about our hot bedroom we were just told they were sorry.
Nice small hotel, excellent location, nice room but slightly small - wish there is a phone in the rooms and a fridge only. It would be great if they had the option of 2 single beds in the rooms.
Check in very smooth. I was there with my son & our rooms were on separate floors at different areas of hotel. Fatima on reception was so helpful, friendly & kind and moved his room to same floor as mine. Hotel very clean. Rooms were cleaned every day with fresh towels. Cleaning staff very friendly. Rooms quiet at night. Reception staff really helpful and knowledgeable with information on great things to see like the museums, art galleries, theatre & other places of interest Hotel was near restaurants & cafes. The hotel was in great central location & good value for money. Easy access to buses, trams & trains. I would stay there again & would definitely recommend it to others. Fatima was efficient, helpful & friendly.
Lovely stay and great price
I have stayed at this hotel a few times always had a comfortable stay staff are lovely.
Rooms are great value for money. Friendly and helpful reception staff. Excellent location. Comfortable bed. Parking on site but very tight spaces, and ended up being blocked in.
No frills hotel. Room clean & tidy ,comfy bed , clean Bathroom with good shower. Reception & bar helpful & friendly .China cups for cup of tea would have been nice .Excellent location in the center of Manchester.
Shoutout to Nyle! He was so funny, welcoming, and made us feel right at home. The service he gave us was outstanding from start to finish. The room was amazing and absolutely perfect, and our whole stay exceeded our expectations. What really stood out was how genuine and friendly the atmosphere was. Unlike some hotels where the service can feel robotic, everyone here made us feel truly welcome. It's one of the friendliest hotels I've ever stayed in. To the manager: please consider promoting Nyle or giving him a pay rise. He is exceptional at his job and made our experience even more memorable. Thank you for such an amazing stay!
Friendly staff. Good location Big enough for one night. Clean
Great location and very competitive price for overnight stay room was clean and comfortable
I wasn't fully pleased with my latest stay. My room was 135. The top of the shelf in the corner was dirty, which gave a poor impression of the room's cleanliness. I also found the breakfast selection too limited. The lack of warm food made the breakfast experience less enjoyable. Additionally, the receptionist arranged a taxi for me. Unfortunately, the taxi arrived 45 minutes late at 5:00 in the morning, which caused significant inconvenience. You may wish to reconsider your current taxi partner to avoid similar situations for future guests. Thank you for taking my feedback into consideration.
Great hotel, great value, my go to when staying in manchester
Lovely hotel , very clean and staff brilliant
Very pleasant & comfortable accommodation. Reception .& bar staff very welcoming & friendly. Super comfortable bed. Pillows could do with an upgrade . Overall really enjoyed our stay.
Love this hotel, location is fabulous & the staff and do helpful
Ideally situated opposite the Royal Exchange theatre and close to Marks& Spencer’s. Clean, functional room with good quality bedding and bathroom
Had a great stay one of the cleanest hotels I have stayed at your housekeeping team are fantastic. Wonderful reception staff, warm and friendly. Well situated for all Manchester has to offer.
Excellent location, great price, high standard of cleanliness, very friendly staff. Would recommend to anyone who wants to be right in the centre of the shopping district!
Great value, friendly staff, amazing city centre location, clean rooms, decent breakfast. Highly recommend.
This is a great choice for budget friendly accommodation in Manchester. The rooms are decently sized and the beds are cozy. The hotel is in a good location and well-connected by public transportation. The breakfast at the hotel is basic and offers a limited selection of items to start your day. I did have some troubles with the bedside tables though. The sharp corners of the table is on the same level as the bed and there is a high-chance for guests to accidentally be hurt in the sleep. I had bumped or scratched on it a couple of times in the sleep. Apart from this minor incovenience, everything else is perfect.
Lovely and clean hotel staff friendly and helpful always use this hotel group if I can
Fantastic staff friendly and helpful the room may of been small but it was big enough and very comfortable
Amazing stay as usual I just wish to deep clean the carpet
Lovely friendly staff. Beautiful clean hotel
Couldn't fault our stay! Staff were friendly, hotel is spotlessly clean, very happy with our room and a good variety of food for breakfast. Great location too!
Lovely rooms. Staff friendly. In the middle of a heatwave, the rooms with lovely air conditioning was a blessing. Shower great. Very clean and comfy room.
Excellent stay at very short notice. After arriving in Manchester expecting to stay at a different property we were devastated to discover a booking error. After advice to check your motel one we were delighted to book with ye. Very clean and very friendly staff. Central to everything in Manchester. Also worked less expensive than original property booked.
We had a brief but excellent stay at Royal Exchange. We arrived very early for check in and Fatima was super helpful and friendly and arranged storage for our case while we got on with our day. On return Fatima was still on the front desk and checked us in still really friendly and chatty after what must have been a long shift. Our room was clean comfortable and cool which was great on a hot day ( fantastic air con ) Every one else we encountered the following day were lovely especially in the breakfast room . Recommend to anyone as great value for money

Hotel Manchester Royal Exchange
Our Motel One Manchester-Royal Exchange is designed with a trendy faux-industrial look in memory of Manchester’s golden era when it was known as “Cottonopolis”: all about cotton as a raw material and its processing. The foyer is dominated by six-metre high round steel arches and a wall of printed cloth, as a foretaste of our theme. Furniture by Baxter and hanging lamps by Alturo Alvarez are complemented by details such as spools of thread and spinning machines.
The main eye-catcher is a wall installation entitled "Cottonopolis" by paper artist Andy Singleton, composed entirely of shapes cast by innumerable single threads.
Our affordable hotel is situated right opposite the Royal Exchange Theatre in the very heart of Manchester. The Town Hall, Manchester Cathedral, Manchester Arena and the Manchester Central Convention Complex are within walking distance, and both Victoria and Manchester Piccadilly stations are within easy reach.
Visit us in Manchester and find out about the centre of the cotton trade.

Cool Cotton
Classic British furniture, paper sculptures and more will transport you to "Cottonopolis" - 19th century Manchester.

Cutting Edge
Paper artist Andy Singleton has proven a steady hand for Motel One Manchester-Royal.
