Comfortable and clean room, carpet could do with a steam clean as it looked a little grubby and the bathroom could do with a refresh as we had a loose floor tile and a few cracked ones near the toilet but overall ok
The room was a little smaller than I expected but comfortable. Fresh juice at breakfast would be much nicer than concentrate.
Very pleasant stay Staff very friendly Central location Airport tram stop right outside hotel Would definitely stay again
The public area of the hotel were very nice, excellent breakfast, very helpful and friendly staff and a really warm and inviting space. The bedroom however was not as good. Whilst it was clean (the bathroom was exceptionally clean) the carpet in the main bedroom and the coffee facilities were disgusting, and there was an unpleasant smell particularly after putting the heater on. - needs updating.
Great room and lovely staff at reception.
Generally very goodt but a few negatives that really damage the experience. No water in the rooms, not even bottled filtered tap water, no glasses and paper coffee/tea cups or “reusable” plastic take away cups that smell of vanilla and taint water or tea. Impossible to get a proper breakfast table so eat cereal off low coffee tables. All our party reported difficulty with wi-if and in room phone connectivity. Would happily pay a few more pounds more for such basics one gets everywhere else. Shame as everything else really good.
This hotel is brilliant. It's a reasonably priced hotel for a such a good location. The staff are genuinely lovely and welcoming and to top it all, we got in our room early which to me, is a real bonus. The bar area is amazing and really relaxing. Prices at the bar are very reasonable and despite the fact there isn't a restaurant at this hotel, there are many eateries on the doorstep. So no major problem..
Lovely room nice location only 10 mins away from where i was going
Great value for money Staff friendly and very welcoming. Room had all we needed. The bed was so comfortable Great central location
Air con did not work in the bedroom. Totally inadequate ventilation and lack of oxygen I the room. A very uncomfortable stay. It felt very claustrophobic with lack of air flow.
No bin in the main room and no lids on the hot drink mugs which was disappointing. Everything else was fine
The only point I would raise is that they were no usb sockets in the hotel, which would have been on real benefit to me.
The breakfast at this motel one compared to St Peter’s was so good, so much option including hot food! The room and building was nice, the aircon is quite loud and the walls feel quite thin. But overall a really nice hotel and good location for getting around. The WiFi wasn’t working for me very well this time but it has been fine before.
good accomodation and staff were very sweet
From booking to check out, the experience is positive. Good people, great location.
Lovely hotel with great lounge / bar area for relaxing. By far the highlight is the excellent staff. So friendly and helpful, a delight. They were all brilliant and so welcoming. Rooms are small but comfortable for a short stay. Showers are very nice, modern with lots of hot water and the toiletries smell gorgeous.
The hotel is a good standard. My only feedback is there was an issue with the lamps, 2 of them did not work so had to leave the main light on in the evening, Not very relaxing. The bathroom was lovely but mold had started to appear on the grouting in the bathroom. The room had been turned over whilst we were out but rubbish and dirty cups had been left in the room.
Really good location, very friendly staff, nice room and held my bag for me all day
Nice hotel and room. Great location - in the city centre but not noisy. Arrived early and was able to check-in and access our room straight away. Got a free large bottle of water - choice of still or sparkling. Check-out time is 12pm which was brilliant.
Nice room, easy check in and check out. All good thanks.
Very enjoyable stay!
Great location and value for money
Friendly helpful staff, comfortable rooms, convient for city centre facilities
Quiet, clean, modern, comfortable.
Fab place to stay and staff are lovely
comfortable, well located and nice.
Good room very comfortable and quiet Hotel is in great position Battery dead in room safe should get cleaning staff to check every now and again
We love this hotel and stay every year for the grand final. Its an excellent location for us. The staff are friendly, rooms are clean. The bar area is lovely and cosy.
Location is great in Central Manchester, close to lots of amenities and transport links. Check-in and check-out was simple and room was clean and well serviced. Room was quite small but was as advertised. Staff provided luggage storage on check-out which was helpful. Would happily book here again.
Comfiest hotel bed I’ve ever slept in! Location was great for the city centre, trams and Piccadilly station. Room was clean and tidy. Staff very friendly.
Lovely as always
An ideally located hotel, the only (minor) issue I had was that the bathroom door didn't close properly. Other than that everything was great.
Great staff very helpful
It was a good stay following our last one in the different branch in Manchester back in August. The only down side I would mention is the TV in the room, the reception is quite poor and many channels were unstable due to antenna problem (at least it is what said on the screen). Otherwise it is in a very convenient location just next to Piccadilly station.
Great hotel, location is perfect as just next to train station. Staff are incredible, very friendly. room has everything you need. will be back. 😊
I felt welcomed immediately. Hotel and room spotless. Gluten free and vegan breakfast options explained well by lovely Marisol who greeted with a smile every morning. Lovely coffee. Gluten/dairy free oat milk. My gluten free Toast made in kitchen and brought to me. Gluten free cereals available. Boiled eggs had smiley faces drawn on, loved that. Special mention to Ryan, kept me company at his bar between serving customers on Sunday evening. Realising I was there alone on the last night. He helped find me find a dinner location nearby. He was efficient serving everyone and pleasant. Also a pleasant lady and gentleman that I checked in and out of the hotel with. The hotel was central not far from tram stops to train stations. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this particular hotel in St Peter’s Square. I’d make a trip to Manchester again without hesitation.
There was a massive dog staying at he same time as me. Frightening because it would not have been able to be controlled if it has gone rogue but the relatively small lady with it. It barked once in my presence which was scary. Id not like to see that at the hotel again
First stay and won't be last. Location is good. Hotel clean and all staff friendly 👌
A great hotel, location very central. Nice relaxing bar and foyer area. Clean room with everything you need & very helpful staff.
A good experience, welcoming and comfortable, an excellent breakfast and friendly reception and staff. Unfortunately the bathroom had an appalling sickly sewage type smell. Looking back I should have mentioned it from the off, and asked for a different room but was very pre occupied and didn’t. I would definitely use Motel One again.
The St. Peter’s Square Motel One is in a great central location. Easy to use the tram stop right outside the hotel to get around but, also within walking distance of the shops, restaurants & bars. The hotel staff are great and very friendly. The decor of the hotel is amazing, we felt very comfortable here. The room was perfect for us for the long weekend break. Great shower, very comfortable bed, blackout curtains to ease sleep. Breakfast was great (continental) with a wide variety of choices to suit everyone’s tastes. Hotel also offers alternatives for milk, dairy etc. Overall, a great hotel. We will stay here again if we return to Manchester
Great modern budget hotel close to station and most city centre attractions
Great hotel very central for shopping and dining
Great hotel central location, lovely and clean and friendly and helpful staff would recommend.
Excellent place to stay
Easy check-in/out. Nice bar area. Room was smaller than expected... but everything there. Only gripe was the sound of water running in another room above us half the night.... Good location in the heart of Manchester.
Ticks all the right boxes: keycard entry, air conditioning, large windows, block out curtains, comfortable bed and pillows, good shower with decent bodywash, quality toilet paper, in-room coffee station, etc. Not always a given at this price range. Well impressed with everything on offer and/or included.
Issues with the booking, room not cleaned and notice not given on the existing policy. Personnel kind and supportive in addrethe matters. Kind regards
A week located, clean and quiet hotel in Manchester. Rooms are small but well equipped. My only complaint was the lack of hot water - not being able to have a hot shower is annoying.
Everything was great!

Budget Design Hotels in Manchester – your Motel One
The city once plagued by the darker side of industrialisation is now a vibrant place to live and a popular destination for short stays, city breaks and weekend trips. Tour this former stronghold of the Industrial Revolution and you can’t help noticing the canals crossing the city. Used for transporting goods while industry was still booming, now the old warehouses along their banks are a distinctive element of the city’s image. Spacious loft apartments, chic bars and modern flats are now housed in these towering brick edifices, symbolising Manchester’s rebirth in modern times.
The Lowry cultural centre is also on the waterside at the Salford Quays docklands development. This complex, comprising two theatres, several galleries, cafés and restaurants, is built on what was formerly a reloading point for the cotton industry. Cross over the Manchester Ship Canal to reach the Imperial War Museum North, conceived to resemble a shattered globe shape, symbolising the effects of war.
Old Trafford, the Manchester Art Gallery and the Northern Quarter
Football’s coming home! Football fans are of course entirely spoilt in Manchester, and the Old Trafford stadium, home of Manchester United, is also a prime example of effective stadium architecture. Take a two-hour guided tour around these hallowed grounds to take your seat on the reserve bench, view the club’s trophies in its museum, and soak up the unparalleled atmosphere of the player tunnel itself. The National Football Museum to the north of the centre is another must-see for fans of the beautiful game, with free entry and exhibits including a replica of the sought-after Jules Rimet trophy, used for years as the World Cup trophy, and a jersey of Maradona’s from 1986.
If you prefer art to football, you’ll find what you’re looking for at Manchester Art Gallery on Mosley Street not far from our Design Hotel. It houses a significant collection of European art, focussing on works by UK artists.
The centre’s Northern Quarter right by the Motel One Manchester-Piccadilly is well worth a visit, home to trendy designer boutiques, pubs, clubs and jazz venues. It’s emblematic of the modern city, and attracts bands and fans from around the world. A warm Northern welcome awaits in Manchester.
