Always a fantastic stay, my first choice EVERY time for business or leisure. Rooms always spotless and staff are always so very happy and helpful
Lovely check in staff. Awful area. Room so so. VERY expensive for what I got
Excellent location
All okay but breakfasts were a bit chaotic and items were not refilled, especially on the Monday.
Really good, with very friendly and helpful staff!! The main downside isn’t the hotel itself, but its location, which can be a bit noisy at night. Additionally, the room temperature cannot be adjusted, so it can feel too cold or too warm at different times of the day.
Good location, good value for money, rooms clean and hosting great view of city. Overall very satisfied with my stay.
The room was very depressing and small and felt a little like a prison cell. It was very small as little room to move around the bed. The room was also very cold and there was no impact from touching the unit on the wall. There was also no iron and the quilt was too thin. A woman also walked into my room from housekeeping witholut knocking
Location was nice because it was walkable to downtown. Room was clean and bed was comfortable.
Staff are very friendly and helpful . Location is central .
The atmosphere was modern and welcoming. Easy to navigate and I really appreciated that there are 3 lifts and that they are fast. The staff were all straight to the point, quick and were friendly. Wehn needed help, the staff had no hesitations and were very quick to help out. The bar was reasonably priced, the mood of the bar was enjoyable and relaxing, with security being present, it made the stay feel safe and secure. The location of the motel is absolutely brilliant, being so close to the high streets, train station and the subway only a short walk is definitely a big perk. I loved the mini pastries, the juice and meats at breakfast but the other hand, the breakfast could use improvement, I understand that hotel does not have a traditional kitchen for hot meals but for the price, there could definitely be more options for additional foods. I enjoyed the bread and pastries but they could definitely be restocked faster than they were. The hotel room door was a little shaken whenever other guests would use their door, even if the door is closed shut and locked, other guests using the doors would seemingly cause some sort of atmospheric pressure change in the corridors making the door shake a little. It would be a nice thing to fix or improve, maybe ensuring all the door are tightened so it does not disrupt when guests sleep. Also, the heater/fan in the wall was not working in the room 8.47 making the room cold at times or too hot, and the window was not always a good substitute due to weather changes outside.
Great location, friendly staff. As always the breakfast/ dining area is too cramp to attract.
Ideal location for a stopover before moving on. Very central and only yards from main line Central rail station and Bars and Restaurants. Very comfortable room, well appointed. All in all an ideal location.
Love this hotel. It’s in a perfect location for everything in Glasgow. Always feel safe here.
Great hotel ,lovely staff ,water pressure in shower could have been better.
Warm welcome at reception (Erica). Early check in provided. Clean room/functional layout.
Always a great place to stay. Location is great. Staff very friendly, can’t fault it.
Amazing night. Facilities immaculate. Bed comfortable. Staff friendly and accommodating
We are regulars at this hotel. Excellent standards of cleanliness throughout. Friendly staff. That's why we keep coming back. You need to offer a discounted rate to repeat visitors though.
Hospitality is very nice, thanks for hosting me. Only breakfast is very minimum option while options are delicious
The room was quite small, so adequate for a night or two at the most but not a week. The location is not great at all, quite unsafe and not pleasant. The fact that the cups were plastic is not great poor value.
Nice location, friendly staff, great that umbrellas were available. Everything was spotlessly clean, and all aspects were easy.
Beautiful hotel and great customer service. Will definitely book again.
Receptionist was lovely very pleasant arrival, hotel was really busy but we didn’t feel rushed. The room was nice clean and spacious we had a lovely view over Glasgow from our window.
Great hotel and staff are always welcoming and friendly and no answers say how can I help
Lovely hotel in a good location. Bed comfy and very clean large size room which was quiet too . Staff so friendly and accommodating. Stayed here numerous times now and would definitely stay here again.
The staff were very friendly. Perfect for cyclists: We booked an 'accessible room', which was so spacious that we could take our bicycles into the room.
Room tired looking and was not totally clean hair in toilet bowl and dirt around bedroom
As always, a perfect stay. Clean, friendly staff and a perfect location.
Every time I stay in a city that has a Motel One, it's my accomodation of choice. The brand is consistent across all locations. Amazing attentive check in staff and immaculate receptions. Rooms are always perfectly clean. The beds are the comfiest I've ever slept in and everything is just high quality. The Glasgow hotel is one of my favourites and feels like returning to a well known friends when staying. My room was fresh and welcoming on this visit and the reception staff couldn't have done more for me.
we had to wait quite some time till room was ready. However everything else was excellent and look forward to another stay
I booked this room for a friend that was staying and he had a great stay. We both drank at the hotel bar and the staff were polite and friendly, as they were at reception. He had a great sleep that evening and the room was clean and tidy, with sufficient space.
Lovely staff. Really happy with my room. Great stay.x coming back.
Great location next to the central station. Great decor in the lounge. With varied spots to work or just relax. Staff friendly and informative.
Clean comfortable bed
Staff are helpful and friendly! We arrived early in Glasgow and whilst we couldn't get early access to our rooms, which was fair enough, we could leave our luggage to go and have a wander and then check in later and it was the same the day we left! The hotel has a modern twist and the quality doesn't stop at the foyer, I found the rooms to be comfortable and spacious.
from the very beginning, all staff were extremely helpful and friendly and welcoming. The room was very comfortable and the air-conditioning worked well which was needed as our few days in Glasgow weresome of the hottest so far in the UK.😁 Everywhere was very clean. I loved the toiletries. The breakfast choices were varied and plentiful, and I liked the fact there was oat milk readily available I also really liked that the female staff were able to wear a varied well designed uniform. It is good that the staff can pick uniform designed for their bodies and aren’t forced into a generic unflattering uniform. particular respect for whoever came up with that idea. But it also shows that you care for your staff and I appreciate that. The decor is very tasteful and I loved the Scottish touches. I was pleased that there was a luggage drop available, which was looked after by staff so that made it extra secure. I very much enjoyed my stay with you and would love to visit again. Please pass on my thanks to all the staff who looked after us very well.
I appreciate the basic but nice brief of this hotel however two things I would suggest - Shampoo and conditioner would be appreciated (not dual body/hair wash). Leave water in room not a token to collect. Final ‘hair’ check in rooms, found quite a few stray hairs in towels and shower. It’s small things like this that would stop me paying extra for this hotel (on peak holidays etc)
Great accessible room and bathroom. Plenty of places to put things and hang things. My only issues are with the hooks in the bathroom. I am disabled and it's very difficult to pick things up off the floor repeatedly. The hooks are hot really hooks, but short, blunt protusions which are not conducive for hanging heavy damp towels. They just slide off the end and fall to the floor. It's very frustrating. Can you not swap them to hooks that will make it easy for disabled people to hang up their towels and not repeatedly having to bend down to pick them up? The TV is unwatchable and unlistenable. It is stuck to default factory settings, the motion smoothing is awful and very distracting. The sound is stuck on some cinema default so explosions and gunshots for example in an action film, are super loud they seem to be amplified, but normal speech is completely inaudible. Both things are easily fixed if settings were not locked. I understand you don't want people messing with the settings, but if you leave them on a terrible default, it's a complete waste. Can you not set them up correctly before locking the settings? I really don't want to sort this out in the middle of the night so I ended up turning the TV off. The staff are always so helpful and friendly.
We absolutely loved the hotel. Our room was fabulous with a great view and so quiet. Staff were lovely too. Our only disappointment was breakfast which was really poor. There was not much choice and what there was, was often missing and not replenished. The food was concentrated in one area so it was really hard to get near and one morning there was nowhere to sit as space was so limited.
room never cleaned properly and breakfast was not good took the staff a long time to bring out more food and people where wondering around looking for coffee mugs milk and eggs
Great location, friendly staff and clean room
I feel there could be more storage room in the rooms.
Receiving initial online confirmation notifications in German was off putting. However, the actual stay was excellent; friendly snd efficient check in, quiet room request was met, room immaculate and comfortable.
Everything about the layout of the room was well-thought out and intuitive. The windows and location offered an exceptional view of Glasgow. The staff was pleasant and accommodating when I asked to extend my stay a couple of day, and I was even able to stay in the same room. My view is that Motel One does things the way a good motel should.
Very helpful front desk staff!
I found the rooms smaller than in Manchester motel, a bit too small and it was disappointing since i expected the same standart choosing the same company. Plus the area is noisy and not very clean and safe.
Overall very good. The only let down was the availability of breakfast items was very hit and miss. We stayed on a bank holiday weekend so maybe occupancy was high, but irrespective many items were not available to customers such as croissants, cereal or meats/cheeses, eggs. Staff were replenishing but not fast enough given the demand. Hence the experience was spoiled in this respect. I’m 100% sure other customers would have felt the same because we saw their dissatisfaction as they looked at available items. I would recommend more effort in this area.
Receptionist was lovely. The room was very cold, even with heat turned up. Same with bathroom floor. The bathroom got really steamy.
A great place to stay in Glasgow. Close to the train and easy to walk or take an Uber to anything you want to see. Of note, the area to the right of the hotel outside one of the train entrances does get a little seedy after dark, so something to keep in mind. We never felt unsafe but our tour guide happened to mention it as one of the places you may want to avoid at night, and we realized that was where we were staying. Once inside it’s comfortable, accommodations are small but well laid out and the bar is open late with night time snacks and food for anyone arriving after hours or out for a late night. Overall, I’d stay here again.
Very helpful, pleasant and accommodating staff, with a special callout for Fernando.

A journey studded with design
We have packed everything we need for the styling concept of our Motel One Glasgow: Get on board and enjoy the ride!

Art with heart
The art at the Motel One in Glasgow takes you on a journey through the Scottish Highlands. The photography from artist duo Scullion and Dalziel captures details and impressions of romantic, rugged nature from unusual perspectives.
Hotel Glasgow
Situated immediately next to Glasgow Central Station, our affordable design hotel is dedicated to railway romance. The Motel One Glasgow combines the industrial character of train and rail technology with the special sense of adventure that accompanies a journey by train. Be inspired by the detailed artworks by Scottish photography duo Matthew Dalziel and Louise Scullion and take an exciting trip through the history of trains.
Our employees are busy operating the switches behind the reception to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Wireflow lights by Vibia are reminiscent of the shape of tracks and railroad switches. Our One Lounge is also electrifying: the Spectre design suspended luminaires by Quasar create a visual reference to high-voltage power cables, and you can read the timetable for the Central Station on an infoscreen mounted on the stone wall. If you’d like to experience an antique train compartment for yourself, take a seat on the quilted benches.
Shelves and tables transport you to Glasgow’s industrial past with high-quality brass fittings, while Aldo Bernardi wall lamps round off the design concept. The bar takes a more rustic approach: enjoy a view of Dalziel and Scullion’s amazing photography as you sit at the genuine wooden counter and channel the excitement of travelling by train.
Whether you visit us by train, plane or car, you can take advantage of the same comfortable box-spring beds, extensive breakfast buffet and free WiFi in our affordable design hotel that you have come to expect from Motel One. Situated immediately next to Glasgow Central Station, the hotel is not only highly accessible by public transport, it is also the ideal starting point for exploring sights like the Gallery of Modern Art, City Chambers and Glasgow Cathedral. Full steam ahead!
