On the expensive side. Small room. Would rather not have two singles beds together as they separated through the night. Mattress and bedding was very comfortable. Lighting above or to the side of a mirror would be very useful for putting on make up.
Lovely clean hotel, lovely staff and a lovely experience.
good, every thing as I know/ like it from germany.. I tell that, because London wasn´t good the only thing maybe..it would be nice to have slightly higher water pressure in the shower
As always, prompt and friendly check in.
you do not sell guinness even cans og guinness, kot everybody drinks lager, some people drink stout
Great value for money with comfortable beds and pillows
I advised o booking that I was paying with a gift voucher however the money was taken from my account on arrival. This was supposed to have been rectified the next day however I recieved a call to say the voucher that was purchased on 9th April 2026 had expired? Expiry date was entered as the issue date. This was then rectified and a refund was issued. HOWEVER yesterday 19TH May you have taken £108 out of my bank account?. My sister in law passed away the day before the booking which we were going to cancel however we thought a night away would do is good but this has now turned out to be a lot of stress and hassle that quit frankly we do not need at this time when we are grieving.
Clean and comfortable room which are triple glazed, so no outside noise. Friendly and efficient service.
Room was good and staff were super friendly, just a shame about the location - seemed very sketchy with a lot of people loitering around at night time. I was even approached going back into the hotel on one occasion. As a solo female traveller I would think twice before booking this again unfortunately!
Second stay here and would stay again. The rooms are really quiet and the heating and cooling works well and quietly. Love the comfy bed and the pillows are wonderful. Super convenient for central station.
friendly staff comfy rooms
Excellent location Beautiful clean room Great value for money right in the centre of Glasgow. I did think the selection for breakfast wasn't the best for the price (our room didn't include breakfast so was an extra charge) but staff where great. When the hot drink machine was out of hot chocolate a member of staff went to the bar and got my daughter a hot chocolate from there.
Fantastic experience. Hotel is centrally located…actually could hardly be more centrally located… Stylish interiors. Beautiful rooms. Nice bar/lounge area. And the staff could not have been more pleasant, friendly or helpful. We had a minor mix-up with the reservation. Nobody’s fault, but the manager on duty at the time, Nicole, was an absolute star and everything was sorted quickly. Just class. Thank you for a wonderful weekend.
We have enjoyed previous stays, but on this occasion it was disappointing. We were initially provided with an unacceptable room; cramped and dark with only a small window looking onto a wall. We asked to move tosomethingmoreaccepable. We were given a much improved room but were charged an additional £20/ night. Which we consider unacceptable. In addition the shower was impossible to use as the drainage was faulty and water ran from the shower base toward the room makingIt neccessary to complete a shower within about five minutes. A refund would be much appreciated.
The front desk staff are very kind, the lobby is very beautiful, and the superior rooms are fairly spacious for European standards. The one main thing that will stick in our mind sadly is the HEAT of the rooms. The moment we left the elevator onto the floor it was so hot, it impeded our comfort our entire stay. We advised front desk staff immediately and were essentially told there’s nothing that we can do other than ensure the heater is off and open the window. The window barely cracks for air but does open up to the noise of the street below, making the room so stifling and loud we didn’t sleep well. I know the hotel is already aware of this issue now that I’ve read other reviews. We are in Edinburgh now and would have booked again with Motel 1, but won’t because of this issue in Glasgow.
Staff was so great. Room was spotless.
Friendly and very helpful staff.
The hotel was wonderful! Location was perfect andThe beds were very soft; we had a great nights sleep. The staff was very helpful to our many many questions! We will definitely stay here again
Overall a decent place to stay, location wise etc. However, breakfast was a major disappointment.
We loved our stay - the room was light & bright with those gorgeous floor to ceiling windows, the bed was very comfortable & the shower was nice. The curtains made the room perfectly dark for sleeping in the morning. The only thing we struggled with was the fact that as a west-facing room, the afternoon sun makes the room QUITE warm and although the ability to open the small window helps (love that ability), it would be nice to be able to have some air. Other than that, we loved our stay & will be back - we'll just ask for an east-facing room! 😉
very good, though one thing missing: a glass/beaker in the bathroom for a toothbrush
Great front of house staff, room spotless, the only negative, the price for a continental breakfast, way to high , this forced us to go to another establishment, giving them revenue.
Always a pleasant stay in comfort especially being a member of be one. Getting great discounts and the free bottle of water was welcome! Despite being busy day in Glasgow, it was ideal for my plans and the location away from the major gathering in town!
Pleasant service, clean room, comfy bed
Overall the experience was satisfactory. However, I found the pillows were uncomfortable and breakfast on the first day was poor. Run out of food at about 8am and also I had 2 boiled eggs, both of which were uncooked and inedible.
Great city centre hotel. Very comfortable bed. Excellent shower. Room very warm, even with window open and heating turned to minimum
Great hotel and really convenient location when travelling. Bar staff excellent and a good craic!
Great location. Very helpful and friendly staff. Nice public areas. Very clean and tidy.
The front desk team was amazing. The manager was so kind and helpful. I had a great time.
Really nice experience, enjoyed the hotel, beautyful design, nice rooms. I would have liked more variety in the breakfast.
Great staff, very helpful. Clean room but too warm. Limited bar, but overall good. For the price and location, excellent value!
Pretty good hotel. Bit of a rabbit warren of rooms. But good. Staff at front desk awesome.
Comfy room and bed, friendly and quiet despite busy location. Would recommend.
Fab as always
Good hotel , great staff , location nog ideal but very close to central station do only a short walk to the hotel , breakfast is continental but good , get there early to avoid the crowd.
Air conditioning felt like it wasn't working so I didn't sleep with the heat.
I’ve stayed with Motel One several times in different cities and have always had a good experience overall. My stay in Glasgow was no exception when it came to the room and location. The room was clean, and the hotel is perfectly positioned right next to Glasgow Central Station and within walking distance of the main city attractions. The staff were consistently kind and helpful, no matter what time we interacted with them. Where this stay fell short compared to other Motel One hotels was breakfast. The variety was much more limited than I’ve experienced before. There were only 2 types of bread, and for sweets there was the same lemon cake for all 3 days and plain croissants. The jam jars were often empty and weren’t refilled during breakfast service. The juice selection was 3 types in 1liter jugs that ran out after about 5 glasses, and each time it took at least 10 minutes to get them replaced. The same issue happened with cold cuts and boiled eggs, they were brought back to the buffet very slowly, one item at a time. The breakfast staff moved slowly and only brought out one thing at a time. On the last day, with a group staying in the hotel, the breakfast room was very busy, there was only one type of bread left, no eggs, just the dregs of orange juice, and the milk in the coffee machine was empty. I understand that a group increases consumption, but you can’t replace items one at a time and expect guests to spend an hour at breakfast waiting for things to be refilled. I’d rather spend that time exploring the city. The room and location were solid, but the breakfast experience was below the standard I’ve come to expect from Motel One.
My stay at Motel One Glasgow was genuinely impressive. From the moment I arrived, the front-end team delivered exceptional customer service, led by Callum, whose professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to guest experience truly stood out. He sets a high standard, and it’s clear his leadership positively influences the entire team. Everyone I interacted with was welcoming, efficient, and dedicated to making the stay seamless. The hotel itself is brilliantly located, making Glasgow incredibly accessible and easy to explore. What really stood out was how Motel One has managed to create an atmosphere that feels stylish, modern, and surprisingly luxurious while still remaining budget-friendly. It’s a rare balance to achieve, but they’ve done it exceptionally well. For anyone looking for outstanding service, smart design, and great value in Glasgow, this team absolutely delivers.
Lovely hotel, friendly and courteous staff, bright clean room
Lovely clean hotel . Friendly welcoming staff at desk Would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends
The overall stay was excellent room was very clean, bed very comfy and heat in room was good. Only downfall of the stay was the breakfast. Not much choice in the way of food and the coffee machine only put out hot water and milk and no coffee and tried on several occasions.
Very nice room, comfortable and quiet. Reception and bar area were also very tasteful and relaxed. Good location. However, the breakfast was very basic for £13.50, and the space cramped and finding it hard to keep up with the customers on both days I was there. It would also have been nice to have had better coffee in the room and a small desk area
Very clean hotel with very comfy beds. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Hotel situated in the centre of Glasgow and next to Central Station. Looking forward to visiting the hotel in a couple of months.
Friendly and helpful personel. Clean rooms but a little small. Overall realy good and I can recomend it.
Efficient, well placed, clean and good value for money!
Perfect stay and room with a view.
staff friendly and efficient cosy comfortable beds. only downside is the tv not many channels and picture kept flickering. didn’t even have all basic channels. that’s my only complaint
We enjoyed our stay. Check in receptionist was friendly and helpful, room comfy and great location.
This was an excellent landing spot in Glasgow for a jet lagged family! Great location and a welcoming and accommodating staff.
Nice comfortable hotel (apart from the strange pillow choice) right in the heart of Glasgow but the construction work right outside took the shine off our stay

Art with heart
The art at the Motel One in Glasgow takes you on a journey through the Scottish Highlands. The photography from artist duo Scullion and Dalziel captures details and impressions of romantic, rugged nature from unusual perspectives.
Hotel Glasgow
Situated immediately next to Glasgow Central Station, our affordable design hotel is dedicated to railway romance. The Motel One Glasgow combines the industrial character of train and rail technology with the special sense of adventure that accompanies a journey by train. Be inspired by the detailed artworks by Scottish photography duo Matthew Dalziel and Louise Scullion and take an exciting trip through the history of trains.
Our employees are busy operating the switches behind the reception to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Wireflow lights by Vibia are reminiscent of the shape of tracks and railroad switches. Our One Lounge is also electrifying: the Spectre design suspended luminaires by Quasar create a visual reference to high-voltage power cables, and you can read the timetable for the Central Station on an infoscreen mounted on the stone wall. If you’d like to experience an antique train compartment for yourself, take a seat on the quilted benches.
Shelves and tables transport you to Glasgow’s industrial past with high-quality brass fittings, while Aldo Bernardi wall lamps round off the design concept. The bar takes a more rustic approach: enjoy a view of Dalziel and Scullion’s amazing photography as you sit at the genuine wooden counter and channel the excitement of travelling by train.
Whether you visit us by train, plane or car, you can take advantage of the same comfortable box-spring beds, extensive breakfast buffet and free WiFi in our affordable design hotel that you have come to expect from Motel One. Situated immediately next to Glasgow Central Station, the hotel is not only highly accessible by public transport, it is also the ideal starting point for exploring sights like the Gallery of Modern Art, City Chambers and Glasgow Cathedral. Full steam ahead!
