Great location, room very comfy with all the necessities, and the staff was welcoming and accommodating. We had a wonderful stay, and we enjoyed everything from breakfast to the quiet of our room. Will come back again for sure !
Easy check in. Clean well appointed room. Good bar service.
The room wasn't made up for a child. We waited just 15mins for this to be sorted. Everything else was great.
Hotel was convenient, clean and staff helpful. Room very pleasant. Area a little rough but motel felt secure. Breakfast a little expensive.
for check in to check out , hotel and staff where excellent
Great location, friendly staff, clean and quiet room A queue at check in + a few computer/payment problems but dealt with quickly. The aircon in the room wasn't working (so I'm glad the window could be opened) and the tv kept turning itself off
Great friendly staff room was good and had an excellent stay
The bed was comfy and i kept the fire on the telly all night, was unreal chore
Great hotel at a reasonable price in a good location. Staff were friendly and efficient.
Motel one is in a great location, good value for money and very comfortable. Rooms are small but well appointed and I really enjoyed my stay here.
Great stay we had nice room with a view over the city , for me and my wife ,only fault we had .no plug in the sink, complete waste of water.
We have been to this hotel a few times and loved it But last weekend we couldn’t sleep for the night club down the road it was bang bang till 3 in the morning Will be looking for a different location in the future
Great to stay so close to the train station, at such a great-designed hotel. Very reasonable price too! Nice staff.
Friend efficient staff. Clean and quiet room. Good breakfast.
From Start to finish I was impressed with welcome I received from Steven Wright. Steven took time to answer questions that I posed regarding the different rooms which were available which in turn helped me select the type that suited me on this occasion. Checking in and becoming a member was made simple as Steven did all that for me. I am a proud Glaswegian and good to know when people visit the city there first impression will be to met by people of Stevens calibre. He is a great Ambassodor for the City and your company. I am not a relative and I have never met Steven before. I will certainly be back and have passed on my experience to many of my friends Regards Bryan Watson
Score of 8 due to room on Saturday being noisy. However.. the score would have been a lot lower if it wasn't for the fantastic way that staff dealt with the issue in a professional and genuine manner (on the night and also the next morning). There is a wider issue in this venue that the rooms at the back overlook the station infrastructure and there is a club that has very loud vibration and noise until 0200. Although I have stayed here in the past, I've always had a room at the front and so wasn't aware of it. Sadly checking in at 2300 Saturday didn't exactly give me a great choice of rooms or the ability to move much. I know it isn't economically great, but I would consider not selling rooms at the back until the noise issue is sorted (or offering at a low rate).
We arrived on a very wet Sunday afternoon and we were lucky enough to be able to check in early which was really appreciated because we were drenched. Staff were warm and friendly. We were able to store our luggage after check out which was hugely helpful given how close the hotel is to Central station. Comfortable beds and clean rooms. Very reasonable price.
Such a lovely find in the heart of Glasgow downtown. It was what I needed for a quick recharge from traveling and exploring the bigger cities and touristy attractions.
Great basics, great value for money. Just the water pressure in the shower was extremely low, too low. And the bed sheets were torn in Many places (too old).
Room on 12th floor was far too warm even with the window open which was then noisy
We were allocated Room 1101 upon checkin around 1030pm. After taking a shower and then being ready for bed - after for me travelling for nearly 24 hours- it became apparent that not only was the room temperature unbearably hot but also the air conditioning was completely non-functioning. Upon speaking to reception at around 1130pm we were then allocated another room. As much as I appreciate the response from your staff- after them agreeing that the temperature on the 11th and 12th floors can become unbearable- I find this completely unacceptable. The inconvenience of having to move room at that time of night is not the hotel experience I expect from Motel one- having stayed in various properties of yours- and is more comparable to the experience of budget properties such as travelodge! I hope that modifications will be made so that no other customers have to have a negative experience like we had and that I do not have to have a repeated non-experience should I decide to stay with you again.
We are always made very welcome. Love the warm and friendly reception area. Rooms are always clean and well looked after
Nice hotel well situated. Rooms a bit on the small side however adequate. The room decor was very nice and the bed and pillows were comfortable. The bathroom was a good size with a brilliant large walk in shower. Disappointed that the room I was allocated had no view (level 1 room 5) only a view of the brick wall of the station next door. The tv also only had 3 channels to view which i pointed out to the reception staff.
So convenient from Glasgow Central. Rooms may be small but have tea and coffee, hairdryer and shampoo and body wash. All very important. The free large bottle of water was very welcome. Staff were fabulous, very professional and friendly, breakfast was great and the bar was well stocked. Free luggage storage was a big plus. So why not at 10? This is not anything the hotel could chance I’m sure, but the relentless boom boom boom of a nearby nightclub didn’t end until 2am. Our friends staying at the other side of the hotel didn’t hear anything.
Was given a room on a high floor as requested, room was clean, comfortable and comfy bed.Good choice at breakfast
Just what I expected from previous visits. Comfy room, calm ambiance and good continental breakfast. Would use again and recommend.
excellent location, although some noise on a saturday night in the locale. Friendly and helpful front desk staff, the bar team also. the room was ok..a little small for the ££ would have liked a bath, not just a shower: but shower worked well (plenty of hot water)
We have stayed here on numerous occasions, and have never had 1 complaint. This 2 day stay was well below the standard we are used to. The water in the sink wasn't draining away. The heating wasn't working... And we had trouble to get the TV to work... Even after asking at reception there was no solution 😕 and have u changed mattresses? Ours was brick hard and never slept the 2 nights. Then there was the noise... Banging constantly left right and centre. And lastly our. Smoke alarm was covered in a dirty sock... Photo attached. Hairdryer is brilliant though Absolutely gutted at this review as all my others have been excellent. Hopefully just a 1 off experience.
Very central Rooms small but lovely, new & clean. Good bathroom. Lovely, helpful, reception staff whatever the time of day. Free wifi Would stay again.
As ever , great stay, will be back in a few weeks.! Will try not to lose my bloody hat again !!
The hotel is in the city centre, which is close to everything and easy to move around. I will stay again in any of the motel one
only complaint was the poor pressure in shower, and small towels, everything else great!
As a solo traveller visiting family in Glasgow this hotel feels like home. I never feel uncomfortable sitting alone in the bar area and it's always warm & cozy and welcoming. Everywhere is clean and staff are friendly and professional. I would like to see twin beds in some of the rooms in order to share with a friend or my daughter on occasion.
Unfortunately we had a power cut but this was not the fault of the hotel. Bedrooms were fine and comfortable , however i thought the breakfast was expensive for what it was, if it had been hot options then I would have understood but it was a pretty basic buffet.
First time used Motel one . Would not hesitate to return. Nice clean room ,easy check in and a nice continental breakfast.
The hotel was superb, the beds were incredibly comfortable, the staff were very friendly and helpful and it was very reasonably priced.
Friendly helpful staff, clean room very good breakfast
Room small but everything you need is there. Staff excellent. Main issue with room the mechanical ventilation which you cannot turn off which is noisy.
From the ease of booking / checking in online to collecting my key at reception, the front of house team were friendly. The room was on point too and had everything that was required for an overnight stay. On using the bar, the staff seemed friendly also, although the drinks were slightly overpriced On the whole though, a good experience and I will be back, in fact I've already booked!!!
Really lovely staff that work there and made my stay as good as it could get. The room was a really good size for the few days I stayed and was very clean the hotel itself was amazing and really had a calming vibe. I ha e recommended this hotel to others who have had positive experiences.
A very nice hotel, let down by being stifling hot in the both the room and breakfast area. The room was so hot it was like sleeping in a heatwave and as helpful as the staff were, they explained there was no way to make it any cooler other than offering me a fan.
Great hotel, great staff, great rooms, great breakfast. Perfect
Great locatiion,comfy beds,modern rooms,100 percent perfect
The plumbing System could do with an Update. When you wash your hands or take a shower, the continuous piping sounds wakes the other person in the room. Else, we enjoyed our stay.
Great stay only one problem there is no water machine at reception at night when returning back a little late
Hi we enjoyed our stay but felt like the staff looked there nose down on us after we spent a lot of money booking the hotel with the dog fee each night also.We spent a lot in your bar the past few nights but the last night was really bad.the security questioned if a stayed in the hotel when a clearly had my card and due to this I did get very upset by it.We then Went to the bar to get a coffee and my partner wanted a beer and we got refused but what a did.mt get was this guy who was in the bar the night before shouting & swearing at the bar staff got Served still but we don’t.We felt like we were looked down on because my partner had his work clothes on .its very unprofessional service & we love coming to your hotel but this isn’t the first time this has happened with my partner because he had work clothes on he’s been refused.its not right or fair
Love this hotel. The staff are great. It’s lovely and clean and the design of the fixtures and fittings are just lovely. The only criticism is that the temperature in the bedrooms is ridiculously hot. Slightly unbearable even in October
Good location near shops, pubs and restaurants, the Hydro in walking distance.Breakfast very good value, great choice.Staff are friendly.
The room was spotless as always , the staff were amazing as always , a bit of an inconvenience having a power cut right as we were getting ready to go for dinner but this was a grid fault and not a hotel fault, the only gripe I have is that we again didn’t receive our free bottle of water that’s so plainly advertised
Good location and good value

Next stop: Glasgow!
Six reasons why you need to visit Glasgow
Evergreen
The name Glasgow comes from Gaelic and means ‘dear green place’ – more than 90 parks and gardens, such as Pollock Country Park and Kelvingrove Park, are open to the public and are perfect for taking a walk or simply relaxing.
Active
There’s something on offer every day of the year here, from festivals to football matches, art-house cinema to comedy clubs. The music scene in particular is second to none, no matter whether you’re into jazz, hip hop, electro or classical. Designated by UNESCO as a City of Music, it’s not for nothing that Glasgow is home to one of the world’s most sold-out concert locations (The OVO Hydro), which hosts a constant stream of superstars. You can also discover up-and-coming musicians in bars such as King Tut’s or Nice ‘n’ Sleazy. And you can find the Scottish Opera, the National Ballet and the National Theatre here – not to mention the World Pipe Band Championships, which involve nothing less than the world championship title for bagpipes!
Wonderful(ly cheap)
The city has more than 20 museums and galleries, as well as numerous other sights, many of which have free admission – such as the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, which contains one of Europe’s largest art collections, the Gallery of Modern Art, Glasgow’s St Mungo’s Cathedral and the Botanic Gardens.
Varied
From climbing in a Gothic church to wakeboarding or winter sports in summer – Glasgow has much more than simply sightseeing to offer. Loch Lomond is also only around 40 minutes out of the city; you can explore the national park on foot, by boat or on horseback. Gourmands can examine the production of Scotland’s national drink by visiting one of the many whisky distilleries, such as the Clydeside Distillery in the middle of the city or the Glengoyne Distillery during a day trip out into the Highlands.
Spruced up
You might see an oversized panda just outside the front door, or an astronaut along the street: Glasgow has transformed into a real mecca for street art. You can discover some of the best artworks by taking a walk along the Mural Trail.
Appetising
Finnieston, in the west of the city, is Glasgow’s designated foodie district. There’s something to suit every taste, from young and cool locations to award-winning gourmet restaurants. By the way, Glasgow is also the UK’s most vegan-friendly city! It’s also got a thriving bar scene: things are no longer simply all about the (still delicious) whisky. Independent breweries have helped to establish craft beers, while juniper fans can look forward to specialised gin bars such as Gin71.

A journey studded with design
We have packed everything we need for the styling concept of our Motel One Glasgow: Get on board and enjoy the ride!

Art with heart
The art at the Motel One in Glasgow takes you on a journey through the Scottish Highlands. The photography from artist duo Scullion and Dalziel captures details and impressions of romantic, rugged nature from unusual perspectives.
Hotel Glasgow
Situated immediately next to Glasgow Central Station, our affordable design hotel is dedicated to railway romance. The Motel One Glasgow combines the industrial character of train and rail technology with the special sense of adventure that accompanies a journey by train. Be inspired by the detailed artworks by Scottish photography duo Matthew Dalziel and Louise Scullion and take an exciting trip through the history of trains.
Our employees are busy operating the switches behind the reception to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Wireflow lights by Vibia are reminiscent of the shape of tracks and railroad switches. Our One Lounge is also electrifying: the Spectre design suspended luminaires by Quasar create a visual reference to high-voltage power cables, and you can read the timetable for the Central Station on an infoscreen mounted on the stone wall. If you’d like to experience an antique train compartment for yourself, take a seat on the quilted benches.
Shelves and tables transport you to Glasgow’s industrial past with high-quality brass fittings, while Aldo Bernardi wall lamps round off the design concept. The bar takes a more rustic approach: enjoy a view of Dalziel and Scullion’s amazing photography as you sit at the genuine wooden counter and channel the excitement of travelling by train.
Whether you visit us by train, plane or car, you can take advantage of the same comfortable box-spring beds, extensive breakfast buffet and free WiFi in our affordable design hotel that you have come to expect from Motel One. Situated immediately next to Glasgow Central Station, the hotel is not only highly accessible by public transport, it is also the ideal starting point for exploring sights like the Gallery of Modern Art, City Chambers and Glasgow Cathedral. Full steam ahead!
