Location is perfect as far as both train stations and tourist centre. I appreciate that there was a window that opened. The street was noisy but I have earplugs and it was just nice to have fresh air.
Stayed with you before - very straightforward and good facilities. Great location. The bar is OK - draught beers would be better than bottled - but that’s not key. This time I felt my room was not especially clean. Bathroom - no issues. But the bed area was dusty and the “comfy chair / couch” was well past its use by date. The carpet needed a good vacuum as it felt gritty under foot.
Rooms have everything you need .Very comfortable beds. Good shower. Design in room very well thought out . Storage / Lighting / plug sockets etcetera.. Check in quick and early. Street noise late at night but it’s a city centre hotel so to be expected. Nothing the hotel can do . Don’t stay in a city hotel if this is a problem.
Great stay reception staff all excellent, will definitely stay here next time in Glasgow.
Very easy check-in, room was spotless with a nice view from the 11th floor. Bar staff very attentive although there was a short wait when bar was busy.. maybe one more staff member would have helped.
Top marks as per usual. Great place and staff.
Friendly helpful staff. Arrived in the morning to leave our bags, they looked to see if a room was available and we were able to check in straight away.
The hotel is centrally located close to many attractions and transport. It is comfortable and welcoming with well appointed rooms and good beds. The breakfast was excellent.
On our arrival we were assigned an upgrade on our room as a result of us being Motel one plus members. This was very welcome. The room was perfect., all the staff we dealt with were charming g and helpful and the location next to the Central Station, Glasgow was perfect.
Hotel reception and public areas were clean and atmospheric. Staff were quite attentive. The room was clean but soft and hard furnishings were drab and did not have an appearance of quality. I would stay again but only for a night or two but not for longer stays
Would recommend and stay here again. Front desk staff welcoming. Polite and efficient. Our room on the eighth floor was quiet, clean and comfortable. Location in Glasgow convenient. Only negative we would have was for the over priced continental breakfast. Don’t bother.
Excellent Hotel, very clean and easy to navigate. The bar is ideal for a few last drinks and has a lovely relaxed feel. The greatest stand out feature of this hotel are the staff particularly reception and bar. Who are both friendly and accommodating. However there are several (minor things) which let the hotel down, and could easily be improved. Firstly the continental breakfast is woefully poor in choice, with very little in the way of value for money. Secondly the tea trays in the rooms have no biscuits. Cmon guys this is Scotland, every hotel provides some biccies for the tea?
Lovely hotel, location amazing. Rooms all you can ask for. My 3rd stay here and will must definitely being staying again 😀
Me and my partner had a fantastic stay at the Glasgow Motel One as part of our anniversary. The staff made us feel very welcomed and also provided appropriate levels of information regarding the hotel. Despite staying during the storm Amy, we had a fantastic time and would be considering rebooking for future events. Only negative was our rooms aircon did not work. On a personal level of feedback I would also say that I did not like the pillows used as I would have preferred more of a heavier pillow however I have not considered this in scoring as this is a completely personal opinion and not a fault of the room.
As always, we enjoyed our stay. Friendly, helpful staff, great location, clean and comfortable.
Beautiful hotel a few steps from Glasgow Central Train Station - a must see - with stunning decor, a relaxing lounge/bar area and great customer service. My room was perfect for 1 person with comfortable mattress and plump pillows. I enjoyed my stay there.
The room was way too hot with no fan or way to cool it off. Opening the window was not effective. The wifi used some weird proxy that broke / interfered with several applications and perhaps was capturing packets and redirecting just like spammers would. I'm not sure one can trust this system.
The best hotel. Always so welcomed when you arrive here. Fast check in, rooms are always immaculate as is the foyer. Staff are lovely! Beds are sooooooo comfy
Hotel was very nice and location was great for my needs, however I found the room a little cramped. Overall the room was clean and tidy, and a nice touch of the bottle of water. The shower was a little lacking in power for my liking and the bath towels were made for small people!
Overall hotel is good . Staff excellent. The location handy. This is a Glasgow issue but outside area filthy and guys doing drugs at front door.
Close to the train statuon and within an area with lots of pubs, restaurants and shops. Many opportunities to go out. Very clean, friendly. Good continental breakfast. Breakfast area not very big and sometimes a bit crowded.
Brilliant stay in Motel One. Location very central and staff pleasant and friendly. My go to place when in Glasgow .
Well located comfortable hotel
Excellent venue, ideal for an overnight stay.
Great experience all round..room lovely..reception staff very friendly and helpful
Great location. Very helpful staff. Room clean and spacious
The room was nice. The heat was terrible. There was too much of it everywhere. I wound up getting a cold.
The rooms were lovely and was the bar and all the staff
For me this was the top pick of all the various hotels I stayed in on my 5 weeks in Scotland .Hotel One ihas it all including helpful staff and very handy for shopping ,train station and dining.
I’ve stayed at many motel ones. Never had an issue, but this was terrible. The staff were helpful however the music / bass blaring out until 3am from a club nearby was terrible.. half the hotel was awake and angry it was honestly the worst night I have ever had in a hotel. Rest assured I know it’s not you and a one off but it was bad, I will stay at other motel ones across Europe, however I will never stay at the motel one in Glasgow again after that. Something needs to be done with the council or soundproof the hotel because that is unbearable.
For what we paid I was expecting a little better, the room felt very basic. Defo get a cheaper hotel with better rooms.
Surge pricing is a joke - £184 a night a hotel it is not. Checking in at 3pm there was a queue of 25+ guests waiting to check in and only two of the four screens open. Not even an apology for the wait - got told the hotel has 379 rooms, what do you expect?
Our experience was not the best. We had booked as we weee doing great Scottish run on Sunday morning. We were out in a room directly above the Olatform night club. My partner had to eventually go reception at 12:45 and complain as unable to sleep. We weee told there were no other rooms available and were given ear plugs. We eventually managed to get to sleep at 03:30am and were up at 6:30am for our run. Very disappointing as this was not a cheap stay, costing £167 for 1 night sleep ( which we did not get). We plan to take this further.
Room was nice. Bed not so sure because of the split in the middle. Bathroom nice & clean. I liked the security that a keycard was required to enter building at night. Only disappointing thing was the breakfast. Seems a small seating area for the number of guests. 2 out of three coffee machines were out of milk, therefore limited choice. It was later filled. I'm not a fan of continental breakfasts.
Very nice stay! Clean and perfect location
Excellent hotel really comfortable beds, very clean, amazing service, very classy place and excellent value for money
Nice room, fab team. Joy - windows that open!
This was perfcet for my two night stay, clean, cosy, central.
Very well situated by Glasgow Central Railway Station so convenient for lot of activities and transport. We had an accessible room, spacious and well appointed, including the bathroom. There's no option of cooked breakfast (only continental type breakfast) but there's a Wetherspoons just across the road. The room cleaning service didn't always replenish the tea bags/coffee and milk - we had to ask for replacements more than once. Free wifi worked well. Good email communication from the hotel except a lot was in German, which we don't speak! We will be happy to choose again.
Easy check in - also lucky our room ready early. Great welcome. Happy staff. Room compact but clean tidy and had all necessary bits and bobs. Safe was a nice extra. Did the job as just for sleeping in. Breakfast quality good but limited space at peak times to sit. Just have to be patient. Located central to all attractions and so close to central station was a doddle-late check out as standard is noon, so great to explore a bit more on last morning without bags! Overall great stay. Will be back.
Great service - there were 32 of us checking in, desk staff were amazing and breakfast the next morning was fab too. Great selection.
All good here no issues
Room far too hot, Air con was on and windows closed but still way to hot. I ended up having to open the windows the small amount they open to let some air in. You could have grown tomatoes in my room it was that hot.
Full of space. Centric. Good price in middays.
I absolutely LOVED this hotel!! It's located in a very central area in the city, conveniently located next to the central train station as well. Besides the location, the hotel itself is a total vibe! It's beautiful, very hip, has a nice bar that is open till late, good and simple breakfast to start your day and the staff was amazing. I would 1000% stay here again and would recommend it to anyone and everyone!
Great location and nice hotel for a stop in the city. Heating is quirky so room was hot but overall good.
excellent, kindly and efficient staff at check-in; lovely room and quiet surroundings
Excellent position. Rooms clean. All I needed for a three night stay.
Friendly service very convenient for station
Use regularly because of location friendly helpful staff from minute you arrive , always spotless ,good location Def good value all round

Six reasons why you need to visit Glasgow
Evergreen
The name Glasgow comes from Gaelic and means ‘dear green place’ – more than 90 parks and gardens, such as Pollock Country Park and Kelvingrove Park, are open to the public and are perfect for taking a walk or simply relaxing.
Active
There’s something on offer every day of the year here, from festivals to football matches, art-house cinema to comedy clubs. The music scene in particular is second to none, no matter whether you’re into jazz, hip hop, electro or classical. Designated by UNESCO as a City of Music, it’s not for nothing that Glasgow is home to one of the world’s most sold-out concert locations (The OVO Hydro), which hosts a constant stream of superstars. You can also discover up-and-coming musicians in bars such as King Tut’s or Nice ‘n’ Sleazy. And you can find the Scottish Opera, the National Ballet and the National Theatre here – not to mention the World Pipe Band Championships, which involve nothing less than the world championship title for bagpipes!
Wonderful(ly cheap)
The city has more than 20 museums and galleries, as well as numerous other sights, many of which have free admission – such as the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, which contains one of Europe’s largest art collections, the Gallery of Modern Art, Glasgow’s St Mungo’s Cathedral and the Botanic Gardens.
Varied
From climbing in a Gothic church to wakeboarding or winter sports in summer – Glasgow has much more than simply sightseeing to offer. Loch Lomond is also only around 40 minutes out of the city; you can explore the national park on foot, by boat or on horseback. Gourmands can examine the production of Scotland’s national drink by visiting one of the many whisky distilleries, such as the Clydeside Distillery in the middle of the city or the Glengoyne Distillery during a day trip out into the Highlands.
Spruced up
You might see an oversized panda just outside the front door, or an astronaut along the street: Glasgow has transformed into a real mecca for street art. You can discover some of the best artworks by taking a walk along the Mural Trail.
Appetising
Finnieston, in the west of the city, is Glasgow’s designated foodie district. There’s something to suit every taste, from young and cool locations to award-winning gourmet restaurants. By the way, Glasgow is also the UK’s most vegan-friendly city! It’s also got a thriving bar scene: things are no longer simply all about the (still delicious) whisky. Independent breweries have helped to establish craft beers, while juniper fans can look forward to specialised gin bars such as Gin71.

A journey studded with design
We have packed everything we need for the styling concept of our Motel One Glasgow: Get on board and enjoy the ride!

Art with heart
The art at the Motel One in Glasgow takes you on a journey through the Scottish Highlands. The photography from artist duo Scullion and Dalziel captures details and impressions of romantic, rugged nature from unusual perspectives.
Hotel Glasgow
Situated immediately next to Glasgow Central Station, our affordable design hotel is dedicated to railway romance. The Motel One Glasgow combines the industrial character of train and rail technology with the special sense of adventure that accompanies a journey by train. Be inspired by the detailed artworks by Scottish photography duo Matthew Dalziel and Louise Scullion and take an exciting trip through the history of trains.
Our employees are busy operating the switches behind the reception to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Wireflow lights by Vibia are reminiscent of the shape of tracks and railroad switches. Our One Lounge is also electrifying: the Spectre design suspended luminaires by Quasar create a visual reference to high-voltage power cables, and you can read the timetable for the Central Station on an infoscreen mounted on the stone wall. If you’d like to experience an antique train compartment for yourself, take a seat on the quilted benches.
Shelves and tables transport you to Glasgow’s industrial past with high-quality brass fittings, while Aldo Bernardi wall lamps round off the design concept. The bar takes a more rustic approach: enjoy a view of Dalziel and Scullion’s amazing photography as you sit at the genuine wooden counter and channel the excitement of travelling by train.
Whether you visit us by train, plane or car, you can take advantage of the same comfortable box-spring beds, extensive breakfast buffet and free WiFi in our affordable design hotel that you have come to expect from Motel One. Situated immediately next to Glasgow Central Station, the hotel is not only highly accessible by public transport, it is also the ideal starting point for exploring sights like the Gallery of Modern Art, City Chambers and Glasgow Cathedral. Full steam ahead!
