Terms and conditions of entry and data protection

The organiser of the competition is Motel One GmbH (hereinafter “Motel One”), Tegernseer Landstraße 165, 81539 Munich, Germany


Natural persons aged 18 and over who are permanently resident in the EU or in Switzerland are eligible to enter the competition. Employees of Motel One and their relatives are excluded. Only one entry per person. A breach of these provisions will result in the entrant being excluded from the competition. Any attempt to manipulate the results will also result in exclusion from the competition.
Persons involved in the design or running of the competition or any employees of the organiser or members of their families are not entitled to take part in the competition. In addition, the organiser reserves the right, at its own discretion, to exclude persons from entering the competition if there are justified grounds for so doing, for example in the event of (a) manipulation concerning access to or the running of the competition, (b) breach of these terms and conditions, (c) unfair trading or (d) incorrect or misleading information provided for the purposes of entry into the competition.

The competition begins on 29 January 2020 and ends at midnight on 7 February 2020.
The winners will be selected randomly from all entrants after the competition deadline has passed. If the competition involves a task, only those entrants who have carried out the task correctly will be included in the draw. The winner will be notified of the win by means of the email address provided.
The following prize will be awarded: the winner will receive a voucher for one overnight stay in a double room, including breakfast, at Motel One Newcastle (depending on availability and not during trade fairs and event period). Travel costs are not covered. The voucher is valid for one year.

Entrant data will be handled anonymously until consent to publication is provided and will under no circumstances be disclosed to a third party. A claim to a prize is only given provided the winner declares his/her acceptance of the prize to Motel One within 72 hours and has transmitted to Motel One any information required to determine the prize. No cash alternative or alternative prize will be awarded. The prizes are non-transferable.




The names of all entrants will be collected and stored for the purpose of determining the winners. All data will be deleted at the latest 30 days after the end of the competition. The address data of the winners only will be collected and used for dispatching their prize. Data will not be disclosed to a third party. By agreeing to abide by these terms and conditions, the entrant consents to the above-mentioned use of data. Entrants have a statutory right to information, modification and revocation with regard to the data provided.

Motel One reserves the right to terminate or modify the competition at any time without notice if the proper execution of the competition cannot be guaranteed for technical or other reasons or if it appears that the fairness of the competition has been compromised. No claims on the part of the entrants may arise from this.

The judge’s decision is final. An enforceable claim to a prize or to a cash alternative does not exist. These terms and conditions of entry and the entire legal relationship between the entrant and Motel One are subject exclusively to German law. Should individual provisions of these terms and conditions of entry be or become invalid, this will not affect the validity of the remaining terms and conditions.

This competition is in no way associated with Twitter and is not sponsored, supported or organised by Twitter. The recipient of the information provided by the entrants is not Twitter but Motel One. The information provided will be used for the sole purpose of running the competition. The entrants hereby release Twitter from any liability that may arise from claims in connection with the running of the competition (in particular the publication and organisation of the competition). All queries, comments and complaints regarding the competition are to be directed to Motel One and not to Twitter.
