A walk to Copenhagen’s highlights: which route takes in everything?

The Danish people are considered to be among the happiest in the world. And this mood is infectious. Our walking tour through Copenhagen takes just 1.5 hours to show you the city’s most beautiful spots and gives you a taste of the much-praised Danish quality of life – in other words: happiness guaranteed! We’ll start at what is probably the city’s most famous landmark, the Little Mermaid, before you pay a visit to the nearby Copenhagen Citadel. The next stop on the route is the Copenhagen City Residence of Queen Margrethe II of Denmark. It’s well worth not only admiring the impressive Amalienborg Palace from the outside, but also popping into the museum inside. If you fancy following in the royal footsteps a little further, you should definitely stop off at Rosenborg Castle afterwards. Here, you can enjoy a lovely break in the royal Kongens Have gardens before strolling on to the historic Rundetårn. The 36-metre-high Rundetårn is the oldest functioning observatory in Europe. A spiral staircase leads up to the top of the tower, where a magnificent view over Copenhagen’s Old Town awaits. A particular highlight is the suspended glass floor, through which you can see straight into the heart of the tower. With your feet firmly back on solid ground, you can continue your walk. On the way to one of Europe’s first stock exchanges, the Børsen, you’ll pass the world-famous Tivoli amusement and leisure park. The second-oldest park of its kind in the world offers a colourful mix of attractions and is definitely worth a visit. The crowning glory of our walking route is the Royal Theatre, which delights thousands of audience members every year with its plays, operas, ballets and concerts. Fancy a grand performance?
