Italian designer sofas from Baxter allow you to not only delve into the literary works of the Mann brothers, but also try out the wide selection of drinks from the design hotel’s bar. See for yourself: a well-earned drink at the end of a long day tastes even better under amber-hued lights by the Danish manufacturer Louis Poulsen.

Also check out the bar shelf: the labels and logos on the stacked boxes are reminiscent of the trading merchandise of Lubeck’s golden age. The regional design concept seamlessly extends to the rest of the hotel as well. Impressive hanging lights by Bocci, authentic model ships on the shelf and premium brass room dividers from local blacksmith Fabian Droste stylishly show off the history of Lubeck.
