FORCE OF NATURE

Bienvenue!
Situated in the 12th arrondissement, the hotel offers both the ideal starting point for discovering the city and a relaxing oasis away from the hustle and bustle. A nature-inspired oasis, in fact – the Bois de Vincennes park, which is also home to Paris’s largest zoo, is not only close by, it also influences the interior design of our hotel.
So don’t be surprised if you see two elephants greeting you at the reception. No, you haven’t accidentally wandered into the proverbial porcelain shop, but rather into an installation piece by Paris-based street artist Madame Moustache. Her collage-filled work combines three-dimensional text objects with exotic motifs and gold accents to create an eye-catching, one-of-a-kind display. Madame’s pieces can also have an enchanting, romantic ambiance, as you will see when you step into your room. The nostalgic scrapbook-style illustrations above the bed will help you float off into fanciful dreams.

Très chic!
Speaking of floating: subtle ‘Butterfly’ and ‘Flatterby’ lights designed by Ingo Maurer float above the desk on the other side of the plant-decorated room divider. Brass dragonfly lights from Damien Langlois-Meurinne also hover above the seating area in the reception. The nature-inspired atmosphere offers a contrast to the cement reception desk, creating a bridge to the urban steel and stone surroundings. Eccentric furniture designs by Moroso, such as his ‘Shadowy’ armchair and ‘My Beautiful Backside’ sofa round off the overall aesthetic with a touch of slightly mad Parisian chic.

À table!
Even the breakfast area has green accents. Exclusive Bocci glass lights ‘38’, which are decorated with cacti and other succulents, illuminate the colour-coordinated Freifrau and Baxter chairs, with ‘Bananas’ standing lamps from Ginger & Jagger adding a bit of jungle flair. Take a seat at the sophisticated tables with palm motifs and... wait a second, feel like you’re being watched? Don’t worry, the cavalier couple looking proudly at you from the wall won’t steal your croissant – promise! The fairy tale creatures were designed for us by Rachel Convers of the French label Ibride and are inspired by her extraordinary picture tray series ‘Galerie de Portraits’.

L'amour
Lovingly detailed classic bistro tables and chairs from the French company Fermob and cosy Kettal lounge furniture offer you a spot in the sun on the terrace. You can also enjoy a box seat view of the marble sculpture ‘Amphitrite’ by Victor Gingembre, specially commissioned for Motel One, as well as the decorated façade of the neighbouring Palais de la Porte Dorée.

Oh là là!
The One Bar will take you on a journey through time. Its art deco style – a callback to the Paris of the 1920s – offers an appropriately atmospheric setting for a drink. Panelling and mirror elements topped by abstract Forestier lamps add to the sophisticated salon feel. Even our Egg Chair is dressed in the finest Parisian couture in palm tree-printed Turkish velvet from Nobilis for the occasion.

Attention!
While you wait for the elevator, let your gaze wander over the floor once more and then stroll through the corridors to your room alongside elegant ladies from the turn of the century. The carpet design by fashion designer Christian Lacroix for EGE is true artistry that, for once, you are welcome to walk all over.
Book your stay today and be enchanted by the urban jungle atmosphere of our Motel One Paris-Port Dorée – à bientôt!
