Central location, clean, quiet and comfortable rooms, excellent value for money, helpful and efficient staff on reception.
Staff very happy & welcoming. Room was spotless and quiet. Breakfast was excellent 👍
Great location, clean and comfortable room, lovely decor in hotel reception and bar area.
Great value for money, friendly staff and comfortable rooms. Marked two points off because our room wasn't serviced after the first night's stay (stayed for two nights)
Hotel is very central, beautifully furnished in a modern style and very well maintained. The staff is out of this world, so friendly and nothing they will not do to help.
Good location, nice and clean room and hotel in general. The staff was really nice, particularly Darren at reception who gave us a warm welcome and also the staff at the bar where we stopped one night for a drink. I would recommend it.
Great location, friendly staff, comfy bed an very clean.
Good value for money. Clean rooms. And a shout-out to the very friendly staff responsible for breakfast (Mario and his colleagues)!
This hotel was clean and comfortable. Staff are friendly and helpful
Excellent service, location and value
The room was lovely wi fi a bit temperamental and the bar area and location is sperb
Everything is wonderful, the place, the location but above all. A caring team that have made my families stay wonderful. I have had the pleasure of meeting most of the team, from the cleaning people, to reception, bar, security. Everyone does an absolutely marvellous job. I can't stress enough how I credible they all are. One of those experiences that are so good you mention them every time someone says they will be travelling to Manchester.
Very helpful staff everywhere, swift clearing of breakfast tables. A very easy hotel to stay in!
Great location and helpful staff
Really enjoyed our recent stay at Motel One. Really welcoming staff and lovely bar area.
An absolutely amazing hotel, very close to many attractions and the Arndale shopping centre. Rooms are spacious enough, very clean and the staff is very friendly. I would definitely recommend this place and obviously if I have to visit Manchester again this is my go to place.
Hairs on floor Didnt feel clean Bedding felt damp need more secure locks on door for females travelling alone
Clean, stylish, comfortable and very friendly staff.
Excellent location for the centre of Manchester. Simple check in with very helpful team at the reception desk. Great room, good size and all the amenities you could want. Fantastic towels!!!
Perfect for our city centre break
I stayed for 5 nights in a 1st floor room. I didn't sleep properly all week as the room was too noisy due to street noise and the room temperature was too hot. I was staying here for business and the room didn't have a desk available to use in it. I won't stay at this hotel again. The breakfast area was also not well managed. There are only boiled eggs available to have a hot breakfast and they often ran out. The breakfast area was also often left extremely messy with limited tables available. I was also charged on arrival despite my company prepaying ahead. I challenged the member of staff about this at the time but they said I had to pay. I did receive a refund but having a battle about payment on arrival is not acceptable.
excellent position, beautiful and large room fully accessoried.
We booked parking several weeks in advance. When I rang up the night before our booking to confirm the postcode, we were told that we couldn’t actually use the carpark because it was ‘under maintenance’. The member of staff told us to park in the Arndale car park but we chose to book train tickets as the reviews for that place are awful and we wanted secure car parking. This meant we were left out of pocket and ultimately, had we not rang up, we’d have been none the wiser. No communication at all. During our stay, there were also drunk people running up and down the corridor screaming and shouting at 4am. We struggled to get back to sleep after that so hardly had any real rest at all. Facilities were OK but the only upshot really was the location. We’ve stayed in other hotels nearby for less and therefore won’t book here again.
Very comfortable and clean hotel. Staff very helpful and friendly. When we visit Manchester we will always choose to stay here. Recommended to our friends and family
The hotel was good. Comfortable room and nice bar area. Bathroom was really nice. However, (aware it's circumstances rather than the hotels fault) I was on the first floor and woken regularly during the night with guests coming back to their room. If you're a light sleeper maybe ask for a room further away from the lifts or a higher floor.
There is not a lot I can say from checking in to checking out everything was first class
Great value for money, clean, modern, good location and friendly staff. Would have preferred draught beer from bar and always like an iron in the room but understand why there isn’t.
Comfy bed and lovely pillows, with a very clean bathroom. Room would be very small for two people so glad I was alone. The lack of sounter-top space to place anything and no desk to work at was not ideal. The room is a bit dark and old fashioned, but it was clean enough given the decor is clearly not new.
Friendly, helpful staff, Convenient venue. Small room not well soundproofed
Stylish. Very clean. Lovely team and great value and location. Only use this hotel In Manchester
No frills, clean and tidy and great location. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast simple but good quality and laid out superbly. I'll definitely be coming back.
Excellent location, highly recommended for your Manchester stay.
Lovely room. Very friendly and helpful staff and lovely breakfast.
All the staff were extremely attentive and friendly. We felt very comfortable during our stay at the Royal Exchange. Best regards to everyone there! :)
The bed was extremely firm and uncomfortable which affected our sleep on both nights. Asked at the reception desk who advised there was nothing they could do. Bathroom door slams shut. Main positive was the location.
It's the only hotel I stay at while I am at work in the city. It has great staff. Especially Anthony, Fatima, Elettra, Matthew, Mo, Mario and Michael. It is in a great location. Walking distance from the train station.
Everything was fine. One thing though: the water pressure in the shower in room 719 was not good. I did mention it the reception desk too.
Nice clean hotel and the staff were very good.
My room was clean and well-equipped. Wifi worked well. I found everything that I needed for breakfast. All of these for a reasonable price.
I have stayed at a number of rod your hotels in different cities and you seem to recruit charming, helpful reception staff and grumpy bar staff. I my room the bedside lamp was faulty and flashed and the shower was under powered
Lovely welcome clean rooms good value Michael and Fatima ( not sure if that's the correct name but she was really lovely
Warm welcome. Clean well equipped room. Lumpy mattress and constant air vent sound through the night. But overall truly excellent value - would stay again.
Location was excellent. Staff were polite and helpful. Room was good, clean and comfy bed. Scratches on bed side table, tatty chair and basic TV took away points from overall opinion.
Great location, nice bar, friendly staff. The rooms are bland. Awful pillows decent bathrooms.
Very good location and clean place comfortable
Very nice place, good breakfast, and the sweetest staff, so helpful and polite, I give my best recommendations 🙌
Unfortunately, they didn’t reply to my email.
Clean. Good shower although shower floor a little slippy. Like the coffee cups provided in the rooms. Please could you offer a non-dairy milk option in the rooms. The fire alarm at 4.15 am was confusing as it stopped quite quickly.
After a long journey it’s always refreshing to be met with a cheerful welcome at any hotel . At Motel One they have it in spades and my wife and I were made very welcome following a long day’s travel from the west of Scotland. Our hotel location in the centre of Manchester made getting about on foot very easy with access to local places of interest and restaurants. The hotel staff were always professional and approachable for assistance throughout our stay.
Fatima on reception was brilliant as always (i stay about once a month) and the staff at breakfast very polite. My Room was a bit small, but i was only there for an overnight, so was no big deal. Did not see any Gluten free options at breakfast-is this something you do ? .Also a few months ago there was some cooked breakfast items available but not seen this since, was this just a one off? Breakfast is a wee bit pricey for a continental selection-compared with Premier Inn for example. Great location

Location and surroundings
Hotel Manchester Royal Exchange
Our Motel One Manchester-Royal Exchange is designed with a trendy faux-industrial look in memory of Manchester’s golden era when it was known as “Cottonopolis”: all about cotton as a raw material and its processing. The foyer is dominated by six-metre high round steel arches and a wall of printed cloth, as a foretaste of our theme. Furniture by Baxter and hanging lamps by Alturo Alvarez are complemented by details such as spools of thread and spinning machines.
The main eye-catcher is a wall installation entitled "Cottonopolis" by paper artist Andy Singleton, composed entirely of shapes cast by innumerable single threads.
Our affordable hotel is situated right opposite the Royal Exchange Theatre in the very heart of Manchester. The Town Hall, Manchester Cathedral, Manchester Arena and the Manchester Central Convention Complex are within walking distance, and both Victoria and Manchester Piccadilly stations are within easy reach.
Visit us in Manchester and find out about the centre of the cotton trade.

Cool Cotton
Classic British furniture, paper sculptures and more will transport you to "Cottonopolis" - 19th century Manchester.

Cutting Edge
Paper artist Andy Singleton has proven a steady hand for Motel One Manchester-Royal.
