I really enjoyed my stay here. The hotel is in a great central location, perfect for exploring the city on foot. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and always polite. My room was clean and cozy, and the bed was extremely comfortable, I had a great night’s sleep every night. Highly recommended, I would definitely book again!
First of all, I must say that the problem is not with the reception or the food and beverage service. That is excellent. The main problem lies in the hotel's core business and the fact that customers book rooms and sleep in the beds there. I was bitten by bedbugs in bed. My leg swelled up completely and turned red, so I had to get up because of the pain. Your hotel staff are friendly and offered to cover my taxi fare to the airport, but that doesn't solve the problem, and now I have to go to the doctor. I also saw a lot of vermin at the reception and in the lobby. Motel 1 chain, such a luxurious hotel, how can you allow this to happen? I am a former high-level tourism manager and will complain about you without warning on the portals you know so well. Of course, I will first see your reaction and wait for your feedback. With kind regards, Erdem Unalan
Wonderful location! Room is just a little on the small side, although not too bad. Bed had one of those integrated sheets/comforters together, which was a minus for me as it was also a little short, which meant that my legs were a little too warm and my torso was a little too cold - I'm tall.
Lovely room very spacious and clean
On the first floor you can hear the bar/lounge music 24/7. I asked ind the reception when the turné the music off, the said never. I didn't chose my room or floor.
Top Service👍👍👍👍
All good, no issues. Would like it if Irons were in the hotel as standard and you didn't have tl request one at reception then lug an ironing board all the way upto your room
Thanks! We had a great time. Greetings from Hamburg! 😁
Lovely hotel in an excellent location, close to Messe Prater Uban
Clean, functional, easy check in and good location. Wish I’d had a kettle in my room!
Hotel was perfect, couldn’t fault our stay one bit. Stayed 3 nights had no problems at all, location is perfect and couldn’t get any better for the price! Rooms and nice and clean will definitely be back again!!
+ screwtop bottles for room sale are foaming in the glass + there were more books available to browse and read over a drink + bathroom shower gel was towards the end at its very end + breakfast eggs are appreciated half done normally
Alles top
Wonderful stay. Made to feel welcome from the start. All staff were excellent especially Mineala at the front desk. Rooms were large. Would definitely stay here again.
Everything was great except for the required clean table at breakfast which was poor food was very good i would use this hotel anytime in the future
Smoking allowed at terrace in lounge and beds too small and pillows are hell. Staff in bar had no clue what they were doing. Not paying attention, forgetting orders, etc. Left the terrace because of people smoking and vaping, smell of full ashtray on the table. The view is great bur when you look down you see dirt, gum, sigarettes, … Looks likes it never gets cleaned.
Staff always lovely, breakfast great, room small but very clean.
Very friendly and lovely staff. Can always give 10/10 to the rezeption. Strategic location. The night was loud from the traffic, car alarms and construction. Water boiler was very dirty and something is floating inside the kettle.
We really appreciated our hotel stay. The room was really comfortable and the position was amazing: almost everything was in the nerby (Temple bar, the Castle, the Christ Church, Oscar Wilde 's house, Joyce' s center, Epic museum, the Leprechaun museum). The staff was very helpful and they told us how to reach the other places (Guinnes Storehouse,Saint Patrick 's Cathedral, the Phoenix Park). We would like to thank especially Juan and the Italian girl (I don't remember her name).
Great location. Comfortable bed. Breakfast limited options.
Like most Motel One locations, the hotel is located in the nerve centre of the city, with great access to public transportation. The breakfast was different from the buffet style I'm used to in Germany, but still good. Especially the house made granola and yogurt. My big complaint was their choice in soap/shampoo/body wash in the rooms. The "bamboo Lemongrass" scent was not particularly pleasant -smelled more pickles or something. Maybe invest in a different scented soap.
simple but professional, 90% of the staff was always helpful, friendly and professional
Excellent location, lovely room, friendly staff, good breakfast
Our stay at the hotel was great. We were able to get the room before the official check-in time, with excellent service from Tatyana at the front desk. The room was nicely decorated and clean. The only thing we missed was Netflix and an USB plug. The roof terrace and the bar in the front lobby were beautiful and staffed by friendly people.
A fantastic two night stay in Munich the hotel was 500 yards from the train/underground station so an ideal location to explore the city and the staff were very welcoming and helpful.
Everything was perfect
A modern hotel featuring nicely decorated rooms, a comfortable bed and excellent shower, superb location, and warm, welcoming staff.
Good location. Too small doubleroom. Not adequate place for suitcases. Breakfast is limited, much better at other MotelOne locations.
Really disappointed, our room was on the 1st floor there was a strong smell of Body Odour or something in the corridor, I reported it to reception. Housekeeping sprayed but it was back the next morning. We went down for breakfast at approx. 10,15 there was no clean tables they were all full of dirty dishes. I cleared a table so we could sit to have breakfast on going up to the breakfast bar there was no clean cutlery, plates. Everything required to be refilled as there was no bread or fruit left. There seemed to be no staff around.
The hotel is conveniently situated opposite the Central Train station. My daughter and I travelled from London to Glasgow by train and were relieved that we did not have to walk far with our luggage. The receptionist handling our check in was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The hotel room was comfortable and clean and the bed very comfortable. There are many restaurants in the fasinity of the hotel.I can highly recommend this hotel. The reason for not scoring the hotel a 10, is because the room was rather small for two people and felt a bit crammed.
Super quiet room in the heart of the city. Very stylish, super comfy bed and amazing view on the city. I was on 7th Floor.
Good location however it took three times to convince staff member the fan would not work and we could not open windows. Moved to another room smaller however fan worked. Another staff member explained child lock on window. Otherwise the staff very helpful and bed very comfortable and room quiet.
Front staff was wonderful especially Felix.
Dear Motel One Customer Service Team, I am writing to express my surprise and disappointment regarding an incident that occurred during my recent visit. On 02nd August, at around 12:08 p.m., I inadvertently left a newly purchased pack of detergent sheets on a chair at the bar. Later that day, around 7:00 p.m., I returned to the bar after realizing I had forgotten it. I spoke with the bar staff, who kindly checked in the back where found items are normally kept, but they told me nothing was there and suggested I come back the next day to ask the person who had been working at noon. When I returned the following day, another barista confirmed that he had indeed found my item the previous day and went to check. However, he came back and informed me that it was no longer there. I find it difficult to understand how a found item could disappear in less than 24 hours, especially since it had been identified by a staff member. While, fortunately, the item in question was not of high value, this situation raises serious concerns. If it had been something more expensive or important, the loss would have been much more problematic. Could you please clarify whether Motel One has a policy for handling lost and found items, and if so, why this item was not held for at least 24 hours? I believe this situation deserves further attention to ensure that future guests do not face similar issues. I look forward to your reply. Kind regards Soukayna BELAL Booking ID 805775017
Very efficient, friendly at reception, helpful A great stay, great location
Really good but could do with phone charger points in room.
The staff responsiveness was outstanding. We received a very quiet room, as per our request and the front desk receptionists went out of their way to help with every request.
Clean, friendly, good breakfast
I would have like to rate this Hotel One - Royal Edinburgh a 10 because everything was excellent except for the price. The amenities available for the price was minimal but we paid 5Star price. The location was excellent to the train station and the Royal Mile and this was our need. Please note there are a few stairs to enter this hotel for anyone with disabilities.
I might have appreciated your hotel, but your booking/communications need SIGNIFICANT improvement. More than half the time, I receive emails in German (rather than English) when I booked a hotel in ENGLAND and I live in the US. Moreover, the way you describe "free cancellation" during Fringe Festival month is extremely misleading. Why would you even refer to a free cancellation when the date by which you have to cancel is almost a year PRIOR to me even having made the reservation?? Also, the entrance to the hotel gives a HORRIBLE first impression for a hotel that I spent more than $400/night for 4 nights. Your entrance to the hotel is absurd, like I'm entering a cheap subterraneous convenience store. The actual lobby gives nothing of the impression you get from the pictures on your website because the lighting is so dark. All your doors have the look of a utility closet, and my immediate impression of the hotel upon arrival is that it is dark, dreary and depressing. The accommodations are sparse as well. For $400 per night, your hotel offers ONE wastebasket in the bathroom, none in the bedroom, the wifi constantly goes out and has to be reset by the front desk, no toiletries of any kind and a combo wash/shampoo soap, ONE water bottle for a stay whether it be 4 nights (which was us) or 1 night, and a heater brought to the room when it got cold. Your hotel feels cheap and unkind. I understand the prices double for the festival, but perhaps in exchange for such fortuitous events, you can increase your hospitality during the months you overcharge. Extremely disappointed and put off by your hotel operations.
Painless check in, room immaculate as always , fantastic service from the bar staff, cocktails outstanding, unfortunately wifi did not work at all on this occasion, regardless of what device we tried :( 9th floor connection was very poor! Still one of my favourite places to stay in Glasgow!
Alles prima!
Excellent hotel , staff kind and polite and very helpful , room was spotless cannot fault this hotel 10/10 on all
This is my 3rd time at Royal Exchange. I like it so much, I have become a Motel One member 😀. Here's why: Upon arrival, we had a lovely welcome. Check in was quick and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Got given bottles of water to take to the room. Asked for an extra key which was no problem. The room was spotless. Plenty of room to hang your clothes and store your cases. Lovely, fluffy towels and plenty of toiletries. Tea & coffee tray. I love a cuppa in the morning so asked for extra milk etc, given with no quibble. The reception is always manned and if you have any questions, they are so very helpful. The bar is well stocked and Mario is the cheeriest bar person. Our stay was restful and peaceful. On check out we were again met friendly helpful staff. We had a car with us and wanted to nip to the shops. They watched our suitcases no problem and gave us some time to do so. All in all, the staff are a credit to this hotel. I will definitely be returning in the future 😀. Thank you.
I was told I would get a calm nice room. There where bilding and drilling all days and the view was very bad. The door to the toilet was very annoying that it did not stay opened. We also didn’t get toilet paper or clean towels during the hole week. We missed a little bit more warm food during breakfast. But otherwise we loved it. And we would stay here again with a different view.
War alles total super!
Easy to book, check in, check out. Clean and comfortable room. Sensible pricing.
Superb value for money. A really lovely, high end look hotel for a budget price. Well located near Picadilly station but really quiet at night. Slept like a baby on a really comfy bed. Very impressed with all aspects. Just a small point ,but of no concern to me personally , is that there is not a cooked breakfast option which i know some folk would probably prefer. Although for the price i dont think realistically you could expect that. Staff were superb. I arrived at 11am just to drop my case with no expectation of checking in. In fact i didnt even ask. They checked me in and i had my room staight away. Fabulous service! Would highly recommend this hotel.
This was the second time we stayed in this hotel. It is very well located and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. If you want to pay for a hotel breakfast, the food and beverage choices are very good. There were a few negatives. Our room was so stuffy and hot. The fan helped slightly but was not adequate. Opening the window was out of the question as the noise from the street was too loud. The windows open very wide and if I had small children this would be a major safety concern. Finally, the TV only having Chromecast makes it unusable for people who cannot use modern technology, like my elderly mother who accompanied us on our trip. This is not a very inclusive decision at all!
Great hotel just across the river and within walking distance of centre. Rooms compact and stylish. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Great value for money.
