excellent service from reception staff i had an issue that they sorted straight away
The ongoing roadworks outside are an issue. Starting as early as 6:45am! Full on road drill blazing away at 7:45am! The hotel needs to address this with GCC?
Love the rooms , staff are very friendly and helpful
Lovely staff- so friendly and helpful. Very comfortable and spacious bed and clean room. Location so central and handy for Central Station.
The staff are always super helpful and polite, rooms are clean and beds are comfy. Prefer a proper cup for a tea/coffee in the room but everything else is great :)
Very pleased with our stay. Quick and easy check-in and friendly staff member on reception (which was also well staffed). We were in The Special One and I think we were on a floor that had recently been renovated - our room was lovely, spotlessly clean, and bed and pillows were comfy. Location of our room was perfect for being away from any outside noise and we were lucky not to hear a thing from other rooms/guests either - amazing to have such a quiet stay in such a central location. Stayed for a night during the heatwave - a test for any hotel in Scotland - so was prepared for the worst. However, the AC system, although not the strongest, cooled the room fairly quickly and thankfully stayed on when we went out, so it was a pleasant temp all night. Lovely spacious atrium which, along with the lifts and corridors, looked great and very clean (no signs of being tired). Didn’t spend much time in the hotel but would've been very happy to. Hotel felt secure with key cards needed for lift and entrance after a certain time & 24 hour reception. Sweets in reception were delicious too! Parking nearby was very convenient and very reasonable price with the hotel validating our ticket. Price was high even booking in advance but every hotel in Glasgow was stupidly extortionate due to concert at Hampden Park - picked MotelOne being more reasonably priced for the reviews/quality and I’m pleased I did.
Breakfast not included and not great anyway. Bedroom small but bed very comfortable.
Nice property in a great location. Clean rooms exactly as pictured online. Courteous and helpful staff. Large lobby area with a bar. Would have been nice to have a breakfast option but there were plenty of places to go within a few minutes walk.
Motel one is fine to stay in for a few nights. The rooms are very small, the decor is quite dated and the bathroom was very creaky but otherwise its fine to stay in. We paid a surge price due to events in the area, but i think at a standard rate this would be more of an acceptable stay. For over £200 a night this was not the quality of hotel i would expect.
I have stayed at hotels in similar several similar cities and I just felt this stay was not as good value.
We totally enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend your hotel to anyone and if we’re ever back to Glasgow we will be staying with ye thank you for everything
We loved your hotel, it was in a great location. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean. I have scored a 7, due to our first night's stay, which was really disappointing. We were given a room on the first floor, which was unfortunately situated above a bar/nightclub. The music was so loud and went on until about 3am in the morning, so we got very little sleep. No one told us about this as we wouldn't have taken the room. We politely mentioned this the next morning and were offered another room for the next night. It was a bit of an inconvenience because we had to come back to the hotel after other guests had checked out, in order to get another room. So it sort of spoiled our day. The other room was alot better, we were given a nice room with a view. I think guests should be made aware of any noise issues in rooms as we came away for a relaxing weekend and with lack of sleep the first night and the inconvenience of having to return to the hotel part way through the next day to get a better room put a bit of a dampener on the stay. I think maybe an offer of another discounted stay would have been appreciated.
We were very impressed with everything about our stay. There was nothing you could have improved upon. Thank you.
Glasgow as a city has seen better days, so has this Motel One.
Very nice clean hotel friendly staff great location
Great location
Not bad at all
very enjoyable stay in Glasgow for one night. Staff were very friendly and efficient and the room clean and tidy.
Arrived at hotel a couple of hours before check in time and hotel very helpful in letting us leave our case in a secure luggage room while we went and had some lunch. Check in was quick and easy and reception were so cheerful and helpful . Room was clean and well maintained. Only downside was noise very early next morning from ongoing road work improvements , but hey it's a city centre and you expect noise , certainly did not spoil our stay . We came in after 10pm doors locked on Sunday night and were impressed when night porter checked with guest list to ensure who we actually were and had correct door key for our room . Totally felt safe and secure . Top marks to the porter . Check out was quick and simple and once again allowed to leave our luggage while we did last bits of shopping . Hotel in a great location for everything with rail station right opposite. Glasgow was amazing and we will definitely be back and use Motel one again . Thank you
Room is small but quite comfortable for a short stay. The staff on reception was great and the breakfast adequate. It would be got to have a small fridge in room and stronger conditioner.
Friendly & attentive staff on arrival. Lovely room with a great view.
Motel One was perfectly located right beside Glasgow Central station, as I needed to be away very early in the morning. The room rate was good, the room itself very comfortable and pleasantly furnished. The reception staff were excellent- helpful and attentive. I didn't have time to have breakfast nor did I use the lounge and bar, though those areas looked inviting and calm - and also felt comfortably cool on an extremely hot day.
On arrival at reception I was greeted in a friendly manner and made to feel welcome. Previously checked in I was given my bottle of water voucher and given my key card. Such an easy arrival process. My favourite hotel.
Great hotel, beautiful and stylish like all Motel Ones. The lobby is beautiful, the rooms are also, and also practical. The bed is very comfortable. No noise or anything disturbing. Great, friendly, efficient staff. Best location.
I am very positively surprised by the service level of motel one in Glasgow. Starting from the reception to every detail. The breakfast 🥞 was delicious: simple fresh scotish ingredients that I loved( jams...my favorites) Totally advised as the position is in the city center 100 m from the main railway station Very quite and safe
Quick and efficient check-in process. Quiet and comfortable room.
The hotel room was outstanding and very good value for money. No restaurant facilities exist at this hotel and the associated breakfast that could be added on was chaotic and I do not feel it is value for money. I was also perplexed at the lack of a plug for the bathroom sink - why?
Great customer service Poor storage Poor breakfast
I had a wonderful experience at Motel One Glasgow. It’s half block from Central Station and three blocks from Buchanan Street which turns out to be a great location. My room was super confortable. The Breakfast was super complete. The staff was friendly and helpful. I felt so satisfied with the service that I chose the same hotel for my staying in Edinburgh.
Previously, we've stayed in Motel Ones in London, Edinburgh, and Zurich, but this one was a bit disappointing in terms of the maid service. We repeatedly had to ask for toilet paper as the maids would not restock it. Even when I left an empty tissue paper box on the counter, it was not replaced. We had to continually ask the front desk for those items. Rug was never vacuumed even when it was visibly dirty. Most disappointing of all was the fact that, despite the presence of a thermostat, we were unable to control the heat in our room. As a result, I was freezing and sleeping in. my street clothes for most of our stay. The front desk did eventually give us an extra comforter, which helped a little, but I was still uncomfortable during a period of unusual cold and rain every day that we were in Glasgow. Finally, the bathroom showed signs of water damage on the walls and ceilings, which was unappealing. Overall, this hotel simply didn't live up to what we've come to love about the brand and the aggravations and lack of comfort were disappointing enough that we'd already decided during our stay that we wouldn't be returning to this particular Motel One in the future.
Great location, comfortable room and excellent staff!
The hotel is very conveniently located next to the train station and has fabulous views over the city. Staff at reception was lovely Our room was clean and the bed was comfy. Breakfast was a bit of a hit or a miss as the quality of the fruit salad and fruit bowl wasn’t great, the bread was lacking in imagination and the offerings weren’t replenished without asking. However, the cost of our room per night was very competitive and so, still good value for money. It wouldn’t stop me booking again as the positives outweighed the negatives.
Have stayed at motel one a few times before and knew how comfortable the rooms are and how friendly the staff are and this visit was the same. We’ll be back next time we’re in Glasgow!
Great hotel. Have stayed here many times and wouldn't stay anywhere else.
Friendly helpful staff, comfortable quiet room, good breakfast.
Very good , helpful staff , room was very nice , no complaints at all , i will be back to stay again .👌
Very clean & the staff were very friendly.
Great hotel close to everything, clean and tidy and friendly staff.
I enjoyed my stay at Motel One. It's a really nice hotel, friendly staff, clean, tidy, etc. I'd certainly stay there again. Okay, so improvements? (1) Don't be like every other hotel in the world and act surprised when people check in - you knew we were coming, print the form and programme the key card in advance!; (2) Some cooked food with breakfast would be nice, £14.50 for a continental, not great, and - fyi - you need a better coffee machine!; (3) Pillows. Beds comfy enough, but what's going on with the pillows? Get some proper, plumpers.
Absolutely brilliant top class
Smooth check in friendly helpful staff I just wish I took the name of the person who checked me in
staff were fine, but the first night we both woke up drenched in sweat since the heat was on- it was about 24C in the room- no phone to call the desk so I got dressed and went down and spoke with the night manager, Found out that the heating/ cooling control don't do anything- you can't control the heat in the room- it is keyed to the outside temp- so we got about 3 hours sleep that night- I spoke with the manager the next day who basically said nothing she could do- she'd have maintenance check the room which they did and nothing was amiss, they reset the system so it would cool and the next 2 nights were okay, though I had to open the window since it got very stuffy, Then it was noisy with it open. The manager Clare said she might give a discount due to the problems, but never did. She was very business like and not particularly pleasant or accommodating. She obviously does not take well to complaints or criticism. I still would like some refund for that first night as it put a bad start to our Glasgow visit operating on only 3 hours of sleep. That might dissuade me from filing major complaints with media and Motel One headquarters. Also the wifi is open and unsecured- what I would expect from a budget motel, not a pricey 4 star hotel.
The room that was shown on the website was very misleading as when we go into the room it was very small and cramped.
Reception very friendly and informative, Bar staff were amazing on Friday evening cocktails were great and they were very helpful and friendly with great chat.
Very friendly staff, convenient location, great breakfast!
The hotel is centrally based, and rooms clean, staff helpful. But breakfast area is small and not comfortable
Motel One Glasgow never fails to deliver - sparkling clean room, quiet and peaceful despite the city centre location and with their own unique decor. And definitely the best value in town!
Another very pleasant stay (June 2026) at the Motel One Glasgow (Oswald Street). Can't fault the staff, super friendly and helpful. Lovely, modern rooms with very comfortable beds, lush bedding, curtains and towels. The foyer and bar areas are furnished very smartly and stylish. Comfortable and inviting to sit, have a drink and relax. It pays to sign up as a member (free), as the rates are always lower than any other booking platforms (including other agents 'discounted rates!). Plus one free bottle of water too. Whenever I travel to other cities, including abroad (mostly Europe), I'll always consider Motel One. Highly recommend this brand of Hotels. Great concept that works very well.
Stayed for 2 nights, the whole place is perfect, I felt very relaxed and slept well. All staff were friendly welcoming and helpful. This is going to be my place to stay when I visit Glasgow. 😊
Rooms just slightly too small for two people for more than one night.

A journey studded with design
We have packed everything we need for the styling concept of our Motel One Glasgow: Get on board and enjoy the ride!

Art with heart
The art at the Motel One in Glasgow takes you on a journey through the Scottish Highlands. The photography from artist duo Scullion and Dalziel captures details and impressions of romantic, rugged nature from unusual perspectives.
Hotel Glasgow
Situated immediately next to Glasgow Central Station, our affordable design hotel is dedicated to railway romance. The Motel One Glasgow combines the industrial character of train and rail technology with the special sense of adventure that accompanies a journey by train. Be inspired by the detailed artworks by Scottish photography duo Matthew Dalziel and Louise Scullion and take an exciting trip through the history of trains.
Our employees are busy operating the switches behind the reception to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Wireflow lights by Vibia are reminiscent of the shape of tracks and railroad switches. Our One Lounge is also electrifying: the Spectre design suspended luminaires by Quasar create a visual reference to high-voltage power cables, and you can read the timetable for the Central Station on an infoscreen mounted on the stone wall. If you’d like to experience an antique train compartment for yourself, take a seat on the quilted benches.
Shelves and tables transport you to Glasgow’s industrial past with high-quality brass fittings, while Aldo Bernardi wall lamps round off the design concept. The bar takes a more rustic approach: enjoy a view of Dalziel and Scullion’s amazing photography as you sit at the genuine wooden counter and channel the excitement of travelling by train.
Whether you visit us by train, plane or car, you can take advantage of the same comfortable box-spring beds, extensive breakfast buffet and free WiFi in our affordable design hotel that you have come to expect from Motel One. Situated immediately next to Glasgow Central Station, the hotel is not only highly accessible by public transport, it is also the ideal starting point for exploring sights like the Gallery of Modern Art, City Chambers and Glasgow Cathedral. Full steam ahead!
