Great room, easy and friendly reception and check out. Lovely hotel
asked when booking for a room on a high floor and away from the lifts. room was fine enough away from the lifts but unfortunately was on the 1st floor. I’ll live but would be good to know if these requests are able to be honoured beforehand. also, found that a pillow cover & the corner of the bedsheets had dried blood on them from a previous inhabitant. Thankfully we didn’t find this until the end but was very gross to see and isn’t acceptable. It didn’t ruin our experience but it did make me hesitant about booking this hotel again if I need or want to. The staff we spoke to at check-in were very kind & polite, showing interest in our stay. Overall, was okay.
Great location..well equipped room ..staff great..and even on a Saturday nite quiet nite sleep!
AC was not working in the room. You could feel the AC not working on the 11th floor as it was roasting. told reception. Booked multiple rooms for other colleagues who also had the same pronblem.
Great hotel in a great location.
2nd time here with my friends and will come again…staff on reception very helpful. The only downside was in the bar.. had to wait at least 5 mins as there was no one to serve. …..another guest was also waiting.
A small fridge will be nice in the room
We are regular MotelOne guests. Hotel was nice though our previous stays in Manchester, Barcelona & Prague were nicer hotels. But the package was I expected. Staff super friendly and helpful.
Excellent hotel and location, can't find fault with it
Great hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms comfortable too
Great customer service, location is perfect and great prices
Excellent as it has been on previous occasions. Check in staff initially told me I didn't have a booking however when I arrived....but then located it. No idea what happened there. Shower could be a little more powerful, but it was adequate. A heated bathroom mirror would also be a nice touch to prevent misting from the shower.
There was no water in the room which I would expect based on the ratings. The TV was glitchy and unwatchable on the 2nd night.
lovely place to stay affordable accessible and just a joy no issues other than would’ve liked some biscuit in the room and not too keen on the idea that they charge you for the cups breakfast was to expensive so didn’t have it at the hotel weatherspoons is just across the road
My stay overall was a great stay, I chose not to have breakfast as the option of cooked was not available. The bar was not always staffed and waited on a few occasions for service. This is not something that would prevent me using the hotel again
The room was clean and functional. The staff was very nice and helpful. The location was practical in the very center of Glasgow.
Another lovely experience at Motel One
Great stay as usual.
Bed very comfortable. Bathroom very nice. Good value for money.
Always a pleasure to stay here. Smart, modern hotel, friendly staff and a comfortable bed
Good service. Love the decor. Love that there are reusable cups in the rooms.good checkout time.
Lovely helpful staff, rooms OK but not super-clean
Excellent stay again in motel one Glasgow. Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Michael at reception was extremely helpful sorting out my booking.
The hotel is absolutely fabulous especially for the price point. Bar is lovely and comfortable and the rooms are amazing.
Fantastic
No negatives to note whatsoever. I had a lovely relaxing stay here. Room/hotel was spotless, excellent WiFi to use for work, staff all super friendly and helpful. Great value for money and location.
Overall the stay was excellent. The room was spotless & very comfortable. The only area that requires improvements is your breakfast facility; many of the tables are "wobbly" in the extreme
Read the reviews and decided to give it a go, since it is a hotel right next to the central station. All the reviews were right. Fantastic hotel! I will certainly be staying here again and would definitely recommend.
The room was unbearably hot, even in the day, it was stifling. The staff told us to turn off the in room aircon, which we did. Had to complain 3 times about it being too hot before being moved on the final night of our stay.
We enjoyed our stay. However, the room 1219 was very warm and stuffy. We did put the air con on but was noisy at night when trying to sleep. The general areas and bar were fabulous with quality furnishings. The road works outside noisy and dirty but appreciate the hotel can't help that.
The staff was welcoming when we arrived. The room was clean and presented nicely. The hotel itself is clean and comfortable
The place very clean staff great service and now the area well breakfast was excellent
Stayed at Motel One a few times now. Friendly efficient staff clean room comfy bed. Safe central location.
Had a lovely stay at Motel One Glasgow. The hotel is in a great location, central to everything we needed. Check in was fast and friendly. The room was clean and had great tea & coffee making facilities. The bed was comfy, I had a brilliant sleep.
Everything was great just room was way to hot and made for not a great sleep.
Clean, friendly helpfull staff and ideal location
Very clean, Friendly staff, and close to our city center facilities. I couldn't control the room temperature, and there was no small fridge ( which is always convenient).
We always stay at Motel One. Very friendly and helpful staff; a good continental breakfast; and in the heart of the City Centre, across the street from the train station and a short walk to the Subway. Only 1 complaint: the room got warm and the AC appeared to have been turned off.
Air-con didn’t work in room so it was super hot at night and too noisy to keep window open. Other than that it’s a great hotel. Beds are comfortable.
I was in Room 12:39. In Glasgow. The room was far too warm. Even with window ajar and room "air circulation system" (as I understand it isn't air conditioning) turned full off, the temperature in the room was extremely uncomfortable. I brought this to the attention of the front desk who advised that the only thing they could do was to provide what can only be described as a desk fan!. All this did was blow the hot air around the room. This unfortunately led to 2 nights of no real sleep, certainly not the restful trip I expected.
A little cramped but the bed was comfortable that is the most important. All the windows face in on eachother so didn't feel private, the doors were not soft close which is a must in a hotel, the aircon didn't work and you had to slam the bathroom door to close it. The bathroom sink appeared to be blocked. Staff were very nice and welcoming
Friendly helpful staff, clean and today room. Bed very comfortable
Great central location. Comfortable and clean room with great city view. Good coffee provided in room.
My stay went very smoothly , a warm welcome, very comfort room and easy check in and out
I would have rated higher overall but to say that I was surprised that the bar staff could not serve me something as simple as a glass of white wine was appalling at the very least! Having been told that there was no white wine available, by a very embarrassed barman, my husband, friend (who is a Glasgow restaurant owner!) and I went elsewhere. This is surely exceedingly bad business practice.
Hotel was lovely to stay at being quite busy but didn't hear a thing once in room which was very clean and warm. This is my second stay here and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
We enjoyed the warm welcome and the relaxed atmosphere in the entrance area. The room was quiet and simple, just what we needed. We will return soon.
Lovely staff, great location and great stay
Very welcoming and helpful. Rooms are beautiful and really pleased that there's a kettle in the rooms which is a great bonus as not all hotels do!
The location couldn’t be better. The room is not large but clean and comfortable. The bathroom is small, yet very clean. Check-in was smooth, and as a member, the late check-out until 3pm was extremely helpful.

A journey studded with design
We have packed everything we need for the styling concept of our Motel One Glasgow: Get on board and enjoy the ride!

Art with heart
The art at the Motel One in Glasgow takes you on a journey through the Scottish Highlands. The photography from artist duo Scullion and Dalziel captures details and impressions of romantic, rugged nature from unusual perspectives.
Hotel Glasgow
Situated immediately next to Glasgow Central Station, our affordable design hotel is dedicated to railway romance. The Motel One Glasgow combines the industrial character of train and rail technology with the special sense of adventure that accompanies a journey by train. Be inspired by the detailed artworks by Scottish photography duo Matthew Dalziel and Louise Scullion and take an exciting trip through the history of trains.
Our employees are busy operating the switches behind the reception to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Wireflow lights by Vibia are reminiscent of the shape of tracks and railroad switches. Our One Lounge is also electrifying: the Spectre design suspended luminaires by Quasar create a visual reference to high-voltage power cables, and you can read the timetable for the Central Station on an infoscreen mounted on the stone wall. If you’d like to experience an antique train compartment for yourself, take a seat on the quilted benches.
Shelves and tables transport you to Glasgow’s industrial past with high-quality brass fittings, while Aldo Bernardi wall lamps round off the design concept. The bar takes a more rustic approach: enjoy a view of Dalziel and Scullion’s amazing photography as you sit at the genuine wooden counter and channel the excitement of travelling by train.
Whether you visit us by train, plane or car, you can take advantage of the same comfortable box-spring beds, extensive breakfast buffet and free WiFi in our affordable design hotel that you have come to expect from Motel One. Situated immediately next to Glasgow Central Station, the hotel is not only highly accessible by public transport, it is also the ideal starting point for exploring sights like the Gallery of Modern Art, City Chambers and Glasgow Cathedral. Full steam ahead!
