reception and breakfast staff are friendly and everything was ok. room and bathroom were rather disappointing, much too small and unefficient: no closet, 4 hangers for two people, practically no night table ... in the bathroom, not one inch where to leave a bag ... one used cupboard left in the room after cleaning ... we might choose again Motel One, but definately not the "Berlin-Mitte" one!
Whilst the Motel One iOS app only started to work after check-in, the check in process itself as well as the friendly staff member himself was excellent. I made a small mistake whilst booking which he fixed with a with clicks and no extra charge. The aircon in the room as working beautifully - however the lack of fresh air in the room was noticeable as there was a slight miff of old sweat. Japanese hotels have bottles of fabric freshener on hand in rooms to adress such minor nuisances. The biggest gripe as always was / is the lack of an outlet on / near the desk area so I had to charge my devices next to the bed which was inconvenient.
Great hotel - our second time staying here. Very clean, air conditioning and amazing location - great for getting around Berlin.
I really liked this hotel and will try to go there again next time I'm in Berlin. The hotel is simple but very well-run. Staff are very friendly and efficient, and they were very accommodating as my flight was cancelled and I had to remove one night at the last minute. One thing that would have been nice is a kettle in the room. But I realise this isn't common in Germany.
Great location, super friendly staff. Nice selection in the bar. Very high cleanliness both in reception/bar area and in the room. The room itself was nice and surprisingly quiet! Small minus was that the room got a bit humid and it was hard to ventilate it away. This might have been due to the heatwave and humidity in Berlin though. Breakfast was good, but not exceptional.
The room were so clean and comfy, just one negative point, there wasn't any terrace or balcony (open during night) to smoke a sigarette with some friend

I had a really enjoyable stay, very relaxed and easy. Friendly staff, modern decor and clean room. Good location and nice neighbourhood. The only thing was the room window was opposite other rooms entrances, so could do with some type of netting, then you can still have the curtains open but don’t feel as exposed, as it was really sunny ☀️

We had a room with a stinky sink. The breakfast did not even provide banana nor any warm food (beside boiled egg). It starts looking worn out. Price was ridiculous for what it had to offer (understanding that it was high season). Staff was super friendly and welcoming

I think this is a very nice hotel. This is my third time staying here, which probably says a lot in itself. I really like the location and the overall standard of the rooms. The breakfast is good, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. The only thing I miss is having a one more chair or a small table in the room, as it would make the stay even more comfortable.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, the pre-check in saves a lot of time, the room served it's purpose. Yet, I found it strange that I do not have a kettle in my room. I was sick and would have like to have some tea (I never need the bad coffee things, but a kettle is something that I would expect also in this price range).
My second (Berlin) home!
The staff at the hotel were excellent and extremely helpful. I had booked for a number of travellers originally coming from Australia to Berlin on QATAR. Flight cancellations and rebookings also made our accommodation arrangements a little complex and staff were excellent at facilitating a comfortable stay and negotiating these changes.
Overall it was fine. I like the room cleanleness. The smell on the ground floor near the elevators are terrible - its a sewage smell which also appear in the room shower. There is something wrong with it. Otherwise the Asian girl at the reception - she dont really know whats up (maybe new) Otherwise everyone very friendly and helpfull.
Friendly staff - helped with lending us an iron and a kettle (items which should have been in a hotel room ideally). Chose Berlin Mitte because of location, near M29 bus and U8 U-bahn, which suited our plans. It is a good location for exploring Kreuzberg and more central neighbourhoods. Rooms are very, very small, and website photos are deceiving - we selected a larger room with terrace and it was still very impractical. No wardrobe to hang clothes, and no work-tops/storage area for luggage. Just a few hooks/pegs for clothes, and no additional coat-hangers available. Bathroom tiny and nowhere to store anything - not even a heated towel-rail. Breakfast space very cramped and poorly managed (1 coffee machine and no DECAF for the entire hotel!) and tables too close together - either get longer tables or space them out - lots of couples occupying 4-seat tables) - not a relaxing experience each morning. The Motel-One concept appears good on paper, but is not actually that cheap (we paid over £170 a night at a members rate) and is probably best for just single-night stays.
Great stay! Very clean bedding and room, everything feels new and the windows open for fresh air. My room faced the back and was quiet at night. My stay in the room was comfortable and met all my needs. I would stay again and I would recommend to others! Only thing is room doors locks didn’t work (I tried 2 rooms). Not sure why that is, would be great if they locked for extra peace of mind. But I felt safe overall.
ChatGPT recommended this hotel based on my requirements and i am happy for recommendation. Location is nicely a bit off from the worst tourist area, there is more local feeling in the area (like pubs in neighbourghood) and still very close to "center". Only two things i found a bit lower and affected some points: Lounge bar people did not speak English too well and beer selection was small. And on breakfast there were almost nothing warm. But... Overall very happy with the hotel.
While the lounge is nice and stylish, the halls of the hotel look/feel eerily and run down. The room was small but fine, only the window was coming out on a wall of the next building, depressing. Great bed as always. Mind you, this was already an upgrade, apparently the room I was given initially was even smaller.

The staff was friendly and the location was perfect. My only complaint is that the big black couch in the lobby is disgusting. Also: it would be nice to have some food available 24/7

Nicely decorated hotel. Very comfortable and welcoming! Comfortable beds and and excellent breakfast for purchase. Train station couldn’t be closer. Area around the hotel was so so, but have to walk far for surroundings to improve.

We had such a wonderful experience at the hotel! From the moment we arrived, every little detail made my husband and me feel right at home. The reception staff were super helpful and friendly, which really set a positive tone for our stay. We loved lounging in the cozy bar area, too—it was the perfect spot to unwind. Next time we’re in Berlin visiting our friends, we’ll definitely be booking our stay here again!

Your hotel truly exceeded my expectations. My wife and I spent three nights there and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was exceptionally comfortable, and we especially loved having two bathrooms and access to the balcony. Everything was spotless, and the staff were both friendly and professional. We also appreciated the great lunch spots and lively bars nearby, which made our evenings even more enjoyable. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
I had a pretty poor experience at Motel One this time. I was given the tiniest room I've ever stayed in, but my colleague who was booked into the same price category ended up with a room 3x the size off mine. The bartender working on 2nd September made me the worst whiskey sour I've had in my life. He was rude when I asked for ice, and rude when I let him know that his cocktail was disappointing. "This is the classic way", he said. I've been drinking whiskey sours for 20 years, including at lots of other Motel Ones, and if the "classic" way is room-temperature, flat, and only filling up half the cup, then that is news to me. That guy needs to be re-trained because he has no clue what he's doing. I went to a different bar to drink and spend lots of money that night. I will not recommend this particular Motel One to anyone else.
