Motel One stay was fine BUT please don’t invite your guests to check in on line when the system does not work. I spent more time than I should have trying to get checked in. Disappointing.
Good hotel, did the job. Main negative was excessive check of customers walking in at night by security meant it took over 10 minutes to simply walk into the hotel. I've never had to do this before and it seemed overkill security.
beautiful clean room & the bedding was snow white & soft - lovely
Hotel was lovely and clean and the staff were really nice and helpful. Room was clean and we got a complimentary upgrade on arrival. Only issues we had was the the lifts stopped working and we had to walk up 12 flights (good work out after all the food and drink we had that evening and the tv wouldn’t work but only noticed in the morning but were getting ready to leave so not a major issue. Will definitely book again.
Staff friendly and helpful. Easy check in.
As always Motel One, was great overall. Staff are always friendly. Rooms are always clean and cosy. Only disappointment this time was that the TV only had one working channel which was Dave+1!!!!
Special thanks to the girl on reception evening Thurs 27th Nov and morning of Fri 28th Nov in Glasgow motel one, super friendly, as lovely and welcoming as she is beautiful, a credit to your hotel.
Very well situated hotel with clean rooms, nice breakfast and reasonable pricing.
Perfect place to stop and in a great location. Made very welcome by the staff.
I was very impressed. The staff were very helpful when my mum had an issue with the heating in her room, and in general just seemed to be smart and quietly competent. The room was clean and generally quiet, although the air conditioning unit was a bit noisy. There were long queues for checkin at 3pm but we managed to avoid those times and so weren't affected. The membership discount turned out not to apply to drinks in the bar, which could have been made clearer upfront.
Perfect location. Comfortable bed and good shower. Everything you need. The hotel was very busy and the reception staff handled everything perfectly under pressure. We stayed an extra night and it was organised easily. Thanks.
There is an under- staffing issue at this hotel. Breakfast waa a joke. Literakky no food and no staff. Day 3 was the the first time i was asked for room no. by reception because day 1 and 2 reception was empty. Told him i was not going to have breakfast because i had lost faith in their sbility to provide. I overheard other guests asking for items to be told that they had supply problems and the manager had changed in the last few days. Not a great start for him/her then. Last time i stayed there i spoke to reception and the 2 guys at the desk said they couldnt help me as they were police officers. Ok but why no hotel staff alongside- we are oaying guests! Maybe just my luck but i seriously think this hotel does not have its act together.
Excellent central location, close to railway station. Room as always extremely clean, comfortable bed and good shower. Friendly, helpful staff, with good knowledge of the local area. 12noon check out a real bonus. As a returning guest always have an excellent stay.
Much appreciated an upgrade to a beautiful executive room on 12 th floor with views across the city. Clean, stylish, comfortable and quiet. Only thing I’d change would be the plastic mugs for tea/coffee.
Really excellent
Gorgeous reception area, room was very clean and the perfect place to stay near the station
While 95% of my experience is positive I will still likely look to stay elsewhere on my next trip. This is because while the bed is very comfortable the pillows are awful. The round rolled one is unsupportive and unusable and the square one has a cheap foam filling, is the wrong shape (a typical German shape). Invest in proper pillows! A secondary but less important reason is while the towels are great quality the bath towel is tiny by modern standards more like a hand towel. I'm half German and spend a lot of time over there and understand these are German norms but as I have great choice in Glasgow they will likely send me somewhere else.
The staff are lovely and always helpful. The rooms and breakfast are of great quality. Just one point I would like to raise is that the room I had was cold (there were freezing temperatures outside) and turning the thermostat in the bedroom did not seem to improve it by much on either of the nights that I stayed. All other aspects of the stay were really good.
In 3 days the room wasn’t cleaned! I’m very disappointed not a change of bedding a make of a bed nothing and we were at a wedding all day on the Friday so there’s really no excuses for it.
Lovely staff, nice hotel. Great location and value for money. Thank you.
We had a great stay in Glasgow and was upgraded to the top floor which was a nice touch. I booked over the phone and Emily was friendly and very knowledgeable. Staff were friendly and the reception and bar were very quirky Room was spacious and the bed was amazing so comfortable. The only very small issue were the doors were so heavy and tended to bang when they were shutting but maybe that is down to the people not shutting them carefully enough!! All in all a great stay and thankyou again to the staff :-)
lovely hotel great location. nice and clean. we were able to leave our bags at lunch time since our room wasnt ready which was good. everyone checking in that day must have come at 15.00 as took quite a while to check in. have already booked to come back next year.
Waited nearly an hour to check in despite doing it on line before hand. Room was much smaller than expected especially with large luggage. Then 2300hrs on the Sunday night the nearby club kicked off. Thumping bass till 3am. Won’t be staying again
Hotel very nice but my room very noisy with what sounded like a night club outside playing loud thudding music on a Sunday night until 3 AM making it impossible to sleep. Also massive queue to check in.
Hotel was nice and clean. Check in and bar staff pleasant. Room noisy and could hear the music from a nightclub which prevented sleeping from 11pm until 3am. Messaged the hotel about the noise and got no reply. Likely to put me off booking there again.
Lovely hotel and friendly staff, took a while to get booked in. Room was great however just hope you are not at the back of the hotel as you have a nightclub on Fri/Sat so bring ear plugs, something we were not made aware of. 2 sleepless nights.
Comfortable quiet hotel, great location, good price.
Great lounge & bar space with comfortable seating and relaxed ambiance. Bar prices very competitive for city centre. Room was compact, but comfortable. Very quiet room for the central location, good sound insulation kept city streets in the background as well as other guests noise to a minimum. Bathroom pretty small and shower tray overflowed as drain couldn’t cope.
Couldn’t fault the hotel itself however the wait for checking in wasn’t great. We arrived early and I think if early check in had been allowed the massive queue could’ve been avoided. Other than that perfect.
Great location.
An excellent hotel with great service
My stay was fantastic , staff wer exceptional, on the night before check out at the hotel bar i witnessed a group of unruly drunk group with disgusting behaviour towards your bar staff member . Id love to comemd your bar staff who tolerated himself in a correct manner but unfortunately myself and few other hotel stayers we felt we had to speak up to let them know there behaviour was disgusting
Hotel decor is smart and stylish and rooms, though quite small, were well-maintained. Reception area and reception staff were very welcoming. Our only issue was that the TV channels in our room were out of order and there was no indication of where to find specific channels. (Though we were in Glasgow, for some reason the ITV channel showed news local to Yorkshire !)
Friendly hotel right next to the Central Station
The price for the breakfast compared to what you actually get is ridicolous. The stay itself is fine and its right in the city center, but skip the money for the breakfast and go out and buy food nearby instead.
Great location, good greeting from staff on welcome desk. We did not use the bar/food offerings ,as we were meeting friends in Glasgow. Warm, relaxing lounge. Good that can leave luggage after check-out time.
Have stayed at Motel One in Newcastle and first stay in Glasgow. Excellent, just the right balance of facilities for a short business stay. Very clean, comfortable and great to see high quality fixtures, lamps and furniture.
I loved my stay i would stay again lovely staff and room was clean and lovely
All good except disappointing bar supplies and no toasted sandwiches!
This was a very comfortable stay in a well-provisioned hotel. The foyer is aesthetically pleasing and welcoming, the staff are friendly and informative and the room was ample, clean and comfy. Breakfast was decent, but would benefit from a greater selection of fruit and the coffee from one of the machine's tasted less fresh. These are nit-picking points however and this is a great hotel in which I would stay again. Thanks to the staff for a great stay! Keep up the good work.
Stayed with my partner and we loved it!! Unfortunately in the morning we went for a shower and the attachment for the shower head was loose and not a straight forward fix meaning the pressure was poor. However, it didn’t dampen our stay! Would return
Always look after me - staff are great
Very clean and organised room
Had a great break here. Room was comfortable, staff couldn’t do enough for us, a nice cozy bar, and in a very central position.
Love this hotel. Excellently situated and very reasonablely priced.
The shower floor was just a plastic box that made squeaky noises when stepping on it. Didn't seem very sturdy. Otherwise I have absolutely no complaints and would definitely recommend.
Everything was just as promised. Close to the station and sights.
Upgraded, as promised due to a problem last stay. Room was lovely. Clean and comfortable. 5th floor. Not too high. The staff were fantastic and the bar lovely for a casual drink. We would stay again.
Room was spotless comfy bed and pillows .Reception staff very friendly.
