Stylish, clean & functional. 2nd stay. Not sure why they are unable to provide irons. Would have preferred a wider selection at breakfast. However, the hotel served me well, and I would return again.
Comfortable hotel within walking distance of the old town and various points of interest in Zurich, as well as Lake Zurich. It would have been good if there were 2 chairs provided for the double rooms. The rooms were very clean and well maintained by the housekeeping staff. The reception staff were friendly and helpful in providing information.
Best value & quality in Zurich! Clean, well-designed, and just right. Bedding and pillows were great. Also... quiet!! I could hear a light rumble from the nearby tram but nothing, and I mean NOTHING, interrupted my sleep. Climate control was simple, and also quiet. The soaps in the shower and sink were also a very good quality. The location was fantastic for exploring the city too. We would walk across a couple districts without realizing it. Stations nearby for trams and train to the airport, and easy to get to Zurich HB for trains to other cities.
Always a pleasure staying at a motel one.
Nice and friendly staff and clean rooms
This was my second stay at this location and it was just as pleasant as the first! My husband and I were celebrating out 30th wedding anniversary this time around and we stayed for nearly two weeks. The staff quickly became our Motel One Family! We were consistently greeted with welcoming, heartfelt smiles from Huseyin, Jeremy, Erwin, Zianis, Matthias, and Max. They were quick to answer our questions, were accommodating, and provided assistance without blinking an eye. We frequented the 24-hour bar almost nightly and the staff were top notch! They did not treat us as guests rather, they welcomed us as their own. The affectionate conversations with Anastasia, Shanelle, Monica, Leonardo, Lorenzo, and Pascal felt as if we were enjoying our cocktails with life-long friends. Each one was passionate about providing quality drinks; ensuring our satisfaction. This crew will forever hold an unforgettable, special place in our hearts. Last but not least, Jeffery. Our morning breakfast greeter was always smiling and ready to help us start our vigorous day with his enthusiasm. We are unbelievably grateful for the pleasant and caring staff at the Zurich location. We wanted our 30th celebration to be memorable and our "family" at Motel One Zurich certainly did that.
nice and clean and friendly staff
Very comfortable and clean. Overall rating is excellent. The only thing that disturbs me is that one: I've been in Motel One a lot of times during the last years. Every time I come with my reservation with the same name (of course mine) the employees at the reception ALWAYS ask me (after having seen my name) if this is the first time for me at Motel One... I would like to receive a warm welcome like "happy to see you again here" instead. I can understand that this is a big place, but I don't feel, even if the reservation is made through third parties and not directly by me, to be treated as a valuable and usual guest.
Our stay was very good except for one encounter with a staff member at the front desk. I asked how to work the deadbolt (extra lock) on the door and was told ‘we don’t have extra locks in Europe’ and that no one but house keeping had a master key. I told him that the afternoon before 2 men keyed into my room and immediately headed to the elevator when they saw me. He didn’t take me seriously and just dismissed my concern. Perhaps I should have talked to a manager, but instead, every night I used a table to block the door. So there are 2 problems (1) if you really don’t have safety locks on your doors, that is a real problem of safety for your guests (2) no guest wants to be ignored and dismissed when they feel their safety is compromised.
Poor lighting in room.
The staff was extremely kind and helpful, especially when I first arrived extremely jetlagged.
The air conditioning did not work well and the room was very stuffy. We requested a fan but had to request it for a second time before having one brought to the room.

We enjoyed our time at MotelOne—the staff was friendly and helpful. I also note they were clear at reception that the concept is business budget. The breakfast was great and the common areas accommodated working and socializing well. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable and our only complaint was that they are a bit too sparse—a place, besides the floor, to rest a suitcase, a glass for water, and some shampoo and conditioner doesn't seem too much to expect. All in all, however, we would recommend the hotel to others and we would stay there again.
Rooms basic but nice. Bed comfortable. Lack of fridge an issue especially with high temperatures. Carpet a bit shabby but bathroom clean. Handy use of steamer from reception. Nice bar and courtyard. Excellent location within walking distance of everywhere I needed to go.

Comfortable and clean. It would have been nice to have tea facilities in the room but it was fine for a short stay. The hotel bar is very nice.
Very comfortable stay. We got room quickly on arrival and were also given the extended checkout time as a member.

Better shampoo and container and hair dryer
The only thing I really missed is a little refrigerator inside the room.
Great location, spacious room. Room did get warm during the night and too much outside noise to open windows. Noise not an issue with windows closed.
Room 0.09 was really not pleasant. Just next to the breakfast area and on the outside where people are having a drink.
Motel One Zurich was very modern, pleasant and an easy walk from train station. Breakfast was very good and staff was very helpful with recommendations and directions. The staff agreed to let us use small place in their cooler since mini fridges are not provided in room. Only improvement would be to have coffee in rooms and a mini fridge. This is a great value hotel and we would stay here again.

Hotel was in a good place and staff was really helpful. We missed kettle in the room We had an issue with toilet water and were changed to a new room really quick Worst was my daughter discovered same day we left she has been bitten by bedbugs.pls review linen asap. Thnks

We had a corner room on 2floor facing a traffic junction-which was used until late at night by car posers. Annoyingly the air con wasn t doing the job if it was working at all…hence. We spent a night without much sleep

I would have rated the stay higher if the Zurich location had air conditioning on days the temperature exceed 93 degrees Fahrenheit.
Very good check in, the room was spacious and very clean.
The room was a very good size for European standards. The high ceiling made the room feel much bigger, too. The bathroom is small, but efficient. There is plenty of room in the shower. The air conditioning worked well. The courtyard by the bar is wonderful - quiet and relaxing. I would definitely stay here again.
Hotel, facilities and staff were all excellent. I wish there had been an electric kettle in the room.
I am impressed with this hotel and love staying here. The value is great. More than that, service is excellent, the location cannot be beat, and the breakfast feature is a strong selling point!
Overall good if you are just in-and-out. Rooms are small and don’t have a mini fridge or espresso/tea machine.
Another great stay at Motel One Zürich. As I have said in previous reviews, it is always a pleasure to see familiar faces in the breakfast team. In addition, on this occasion Jeremy on reception gave a very warm welcome, identifying I was a returning guest. Hopefully I will return again soon - it is becoming a home away from home.
Perfect Location in the middle of the City, near Lake Zurich!
The 2nd bed was not made up and I had to ask for bedding. The staff refused to deliver it and were rude when I asked for assistance.
Never seen a hotel that doesn't serv worm breakfast. I missed a second towel in the room and a kettle for making coffee in the room. Price is fare but the value is accordingly poor.
Noah at the front desk was wonderful! Moved us to a quieter and cooler room and gave us dinner reservations. I was considering changing hotels but Noah saved the day and is the reason we stayed The original staff member who checkd us in was not friendly and seemed to be making fun of us. He didnt offer any help beyond the required transactions or ask if we needed anything. Our first room was on a loud street side and very warm. Noah moved us to courtyard which was much better! Bar staff were wonderful!
The room rate was rather expensive. The air conditioning was noisy. And it was not possible to leave the bathroom door open.
Simply stated when I come to Zürich my number 1 choice is Motel One. Centrally located, yet quiet, friendly and professional staff, large, clean rooms, a sense of freshness in the rooms. Motel one in Zürich is my choice.
