Bar area nice .Breakfast in the morning value for money everything was clean and homemade. Staff friendly bar and reception great . Found out in the morning the mattress under the covers was urine stained after we had already slept in it . some stains on the floor as well but no issues with the actual bedding and bathroom . Guests were also complaining when checking in about cleanliness. Hotel was great up untill we found the mattress with is a shame.
Hotel looks great, staff attentive room was clean, simple and comfortable. Nice bed. bathroom clean. Will come back again.

Lovely hotel spacious room and comfy bed excellent sleep
We didn't even stay as the hotel was dirty, and the doors didn't lock properly and it was unsafe. Staff were very nice and accommodating and apologetic, but the hotel beyond the ground floor felt like a hostel. Carpet was dirty and not vaccumed, pillowcases had holes in. Doors were broken and did not lock. We left as it wasn't safe or clean, and we're left with nowhere to stay.

Good morning, I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to provide feedback regarding my recent experience during my stay at your hotel. Upon my arrival, I checked in without being asked for identification, which concerned my. When I tried to use my key card to access my room, it did not work. I went back to the front desk and spoke with Enzo, who informed me that he would need to accompany me upstairs to "see for himself" regarding the key issue. This made me feel uncomfortable, as I had just expressed that the key was not functioning. When we arrived at my room, Enco confirmed that the key card was indeed not working. He then mentioned that he would bring a new key and slide it under my door. This made me feel uncomfortable with the situation overall as a single women stay at a hotel alone. As it reinforced a sense of lack of security in the process. Ultimately, due to these safety concerns and discomfort, I decided to check out promptly and find accommodation at another hotel. I believe that safely and comfort are paramount in hospitality, and this experience left me feeling uneasy. I travel more then average and between the staff and the room I am amazed that I have not found your hotels before.definitely will look for you first.
Have stayed several times before and had good time. This time was bad experiennce.... unfriendly/rude arrival experience. Staff unengaging. Life out of order. Room average. Never again!
I stay at motel one 4or5 times on average each year≠ver disappointed with the cleanliness &high standards of the rooms,&the staff are very friendly &helpful, from the reception staff to the bar staff&housekeeping staff.Id recommend Motel One to anyone looking for a few days break in Newcastle.
Clean and value for money.
The most beautiful reception area/bar the whole theme of downstairs is stunning. Breakfast was really nice. Unfortunately the rooms do not marry with downstairs. Ugly painted wood chip, grubby carpet and a strange smell. We joined motel one club and received a free bottle of water, but we had to go to the bar and get our own, it just seemed ridiculous as to why it wasn't just put in our room. When we went downstairs for breakfast the outside areas had not been cleaned from the night before

The public areas were great - the reception was among the best that we have ever had and we have stayed in a lot of hotels: friendly, infomative and welcoming. We travelled with our dog ( one of the main reasons for choosing Motel One) and the map of dog walking areas in the vicinity and dog-friendly restaurants was a nice touch. On the downside, the room we had on the second floor was small and basic (very little storage - no glasses/cups and rather odd plastic beakers, one bedside light didn't work due to a bulb and the door mechanism (old) didn't give confidence that it was secure - also the first key cards we were given didn't work and we had to return to reception to have the issue sorted). The en-suite was good and the hand wash, shower gels and towels were lovely so we didn't quite understand why this kind of quality couldn't have been extended to the whole room.

A great central hotel, clean & comfortable with helpful & friendly staff. I would use the hotel again.
First time staying here. Very warm welcome from the reception team. Nice cosy room with a comfy bed. Only bad thing was the beer selection. Oh and my old fashioned was not good.
Overall the hotel was nice and the staff were excellent and got us checked in early. The downstairs of the hotel is really fresh and modern. When you get to the rooms that changes. They were quite small, carpets needed changing and the walls are wood chip. The room was very clean and the bathroom was great. As was the bed that was very comfortable. It’s a shame as the hotel is in a great location, really central and close to all major attractions and the metro. I wouldn’t stay again based on the room as it is just not what I expect when staying in a hotel, however I can’t fault the staff.
Unfortunately there was no hot water in the room which wasn’t ideal getting ready for a wedding reception. I reported it twice and have emailed so awaiting a response.
This was my second time staying in the hotel. The hotel is absolutely stunning, vert high standard of cleanliness and the staff are very friendly. The rooms are well presented, clean. Tea and coffee available as well as a hair dryer. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Our room was 116 and the private room next door was so loud. Every 5 minutes the door banged shut and shuddered the whole wall the bed was on so it woke us up every time

Location,bar& breakfast all good. Room fine but toilet once flushed ran for hours after.would have mentioned to reception but asked to drop key in express,as busy with luggage

Excellent stay, fantastic motel and great price! In the city centre yet so relaxed. Every member of staff was so friendly and welcoming. Room facilities were really good, had such a lovely stay and would recommend to others. Will definitly book again at motel one.
Lift out of order and very expensive for a room only
Score would have been higher if both lifts were working, having to share a single lift with all other guests caused a lot of waiting time.

Lovely hotel; a unexpected little gem of Newcastle.
My previous stay was great. Unfortunately during my second visit, I was initially provided with a room which smelled of cigarette smoke. Room 237 was made up however the smell was very obvious at least to a non smoker. Once I informed the reception, I was immediately given a new room right next to it which was clean and had no issues. The staff is fantastic in Newcastle and I did appreciate the immediate help!
The hotel is great overall, the downstairs is nice and in a good location. However unfortunately the room hadn’t been cleaned properly and I cut my foot on some glass that had been left on the floor. I’d also say the bed wasn’t the best as it was 2 singles pushed together with no topper so also had a gap in the middle. Shame - as it was so close to being perfect.

Room 356 Zip & Link was bad, my Partner had a bad back after staying, not as good as the rooms we normally get, bit disappointed
Excellent experience at Motel One in Newcastle, everything needed for one night stay. Rooms fairly small but comfortable, clean and well equipped. Will definitely stay again

Staff were very helpful and friendly prior to my visit as to nearest parking etc. I was attending a wedding in Newcastle and reception staff also helped me to work out how far the venue was from the hotel (not far as hotel very central! ). Room very clean and comfortable and a great choice at breakfast too!
