The hotel is in an excellent location and a 5 minute walk from the station. The only down side was the room was very stuffy. Despite it being below freezing at night the windows can only open 2 inches and didn't cool it down. We ended up sleeping in just the duvet cover. The breakfast was a good continental and the hotel very stylish. The room and bathroom were compact but perfect for a city break.
Staff are professional and nice! House keeping is excellent! Room is very nice for the price point BUT it’s HOT, whilst the weather is around 40F the heating was set high in the hotel, this makes the room hot even after turning of the hot air and keeping the window open 24/7. There is no AC too.
The hotel is lovely, rooms are ideal and the staff are all wonderful! I had a bad fall on the quayside & arrived back at the hotel after 5 hours in A & E. Asked the staff for old towels to cover the pillow etc and they immediately offered help, first aid kit and told me not to worry about anything.
Lovely hotel, very friendly staff and lovely decor. Room was nice and compact. Top floor room was a bit too warm but it didn't spoil my stay.
Room was cold upon arrival and noisy to warm up quickly with the AC. Toilet flush button was broken (cosmetically - still functioned) which isn't a great look. Shower was freezing - waited for ages for water to warm up having tried various settings to no avail. A very brief and very cold shower was endured. Breakfast selection and layout was very odd. Tough to recommend.
Hotel had a really calm feel which was matched by the layout and design. Staff were friendly and helpful. Only criticism is I felt the breakfast is expensive for what was provided.
The common areas are great, the staff also. However, the chair in the room was very dirty and old and the carpet too. There was no window which could be opened. Overall It is a very good hotel but these issues are important and were not apparent last year when we stayed at the hotel.
Thank you for a fabulous stay, this is our 2nd time staying at your hotel. Great location to everything bars, restaurants, shopping centre. Beds very comfy, super clean. My only complaint is the room was very warm.
Model One was a great place to stay. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly, the location was really central and the breakfast was delicious. Incredible value for money all round.
Fantastic central location and excellent friendly staff who accommodated our request for a reserved space for my hubby to have all his family round while he opened his 60th birthday gifts.

Lovely check in staff, nice room and ambience. However, the security man on the door and night manager were intimidating and dismissive when we returned to the hotel after 11pm. I’d put my mum’s name down as next of kin on the form instead of my partner (I feel the person at check in should have double checked this was correct at time of check in) and they almost didn’t let my partner in. We were treated with suspicion and made to feel like we’d done something wrong. As paying guests who just wanted to go to bed, we felt extremely upset and violated by this interaction
Excellent experience from Motel One yet again. Took our pawed child and the hotel was excellent for accommodating him. Where do I start with the staff,they are outstanding and go above and beyond.

My wife and I love Motel One. I’ve previously stayed at their Glasgow hotel. This was our first time at Newcastle. Every bit as good. Clean, comfortable rooms with everything you need. Stylish public space with inviting areas to relax and super helpful staff. Very reasonably priced too with a convenient location very close to central station. Just be aware it’s not great for drivers, tricky to find with little parking, but the upside is you are placed right in the city centre.
It was a great trip. A great location and a wonderful experience staying at Motel One. The staff was extremely helpful, and everything went as it should. The only thing that can be improved can be the breakfast selection. If you don't eat pastries/bread and all the sweet stuff, the options are really good but kinda limited. This will be my go-to hotel from now on in Newcastle. Thank you for everything.
Good sized room, and very comfortable bed. A few tiny things could be improved - a shelf in the shower is much needed, and one by the sink would also be useful. A bin in the main room would be useful as well. But overall, I'd stay here again as it's so well located, clean and comfortable.
The room and location was generally good. However, the room was much too warm our liking. We already set the temperature to 10 degrees and fan speed to maximum, but still warm air came out of the airco. This made our stay uncomfortable.
Very friendly helpful reception staff. Nice simple room. Comfortable bed, and nice bathroom products. The only slight issue is the soundproofing is poor. I could hear other guests walking about, and speaking.
No phone in the room if I needed to ring the desk. Would have been helpful when there was no hot water for my shower in the morning.
Lovely reception and staff. Compact clean room. Comfy bed. Nice shower and had a good night sleep. Paper cups in room though, I'm not a fan. Also couldn't put the sink plug down to full sink. Other than that. Great stay with nice breakfast.
Overall the hotel stay was good, staff were friendly and reception staff helped make recommendations and quickly moved my room when had issues with the door. Breakfast was good and hotel was clean and well kept. The only negative was how warm the hotel room was. Even with the air con on full and window opened it was still too hot which made sleeping uncomfortable and broken. Other colleagues i was staying with mentioned this too and the hotel lobby areas were warm as well so that's the only negative and why scored down.
Very nice atmosphere, good check in. The room was boiling and unable to open the window very far. Water pressure for the shower was awful and sometimes the toilet wouldnt flush.
I would recommend this hotel for location, the entrance, reception, bar and staff are lovely. The rooms are a major let down. The rooms are dated and very tired. We eventually got moved into another room because our tv wasn’t working at all and because we were in the room early (as I wasn’t well) it was going to be a long night for my husband with no tv. But to be fair the TV should work so I don’t know why I’m justifying that. We got moved to a room which upon entering was absolutely freezing cold, so cold I was shivering. I couldn’t be bothered, I was so poorly and cold I just wrapped myself in the duvet (which was so thin) the beds you were lying very awkward that the blood ran to your head, heating is very bad, no proper lighting in the room, just a lamp and bedside dim lights for the whole room.
A peaceful haven in the heart of the city. Great bars, restaurants and the comedy club right on the doorstep. The staff were lovely, very friendly helpful and knowledgeable. Room was good - small but had everything we needed. Bed was great large and very comfortable.

Lovely hotel. Stayed there last year for the same weekend. Lovely clean and very well presented hotel. The rooms are quiet even on a busy Saturday night. Definitely worth downloading the app and booking through that. Will be staying here again next year. They also have many hotel throughout Europe.

I enjoyed my stay when i checked in online you asked did i want my room serviced or not for the environment i choose not to have it serviced but it was anyway. A glass in the room would have been useful.
We have stayed in Motel One Glasgow many times and was first time here in Newcastle. Staff were very friendly and is a lovely hotel, the only thing that brings the review down is the room being small and there being little storage space for clothes.
Very friendly and helpful staff. The location was perfect for Theatre Royal being just around the corner and all the bars and restaurants. The hotel itself was spotlessly clean and had a lovely bar area where I got the best Mai Tai ever. We will definitely be using this as our go to hotel when we are in Newcastle. I cannot understand why it has only 3 stars! We stayed Saturday February 22nd 2025.
I was disappointed with the bedroom. It was very small and had very little space. There was a small table for makeup etc probably about 18 inches by 12. There was no space next to my side of the bed so nowhere to put my glasses so I could find them in the night, except on the floor. The temperature was far too hot and did not seem to reduce even when we turned down the thermostat. I have stayed in Motel1 before in Edinburgh and it was far better.
Generally great. The room I was in got a lot of noise from the street, which was a downside on the first night. It would be good to have some non-dairy milk sachets in rooms. But it was super clean, comfortable and central, so all good! I enjoyed the design elements walking through the lounge and reception area.
We had a lovely stay in Newcastle. The staff were so friendly, there was a real personal touch and the room had everything we needed. Perfect location in a clean and modern hotel for an amazing price.
The hotel is conveniently located and well priced, and the beds are comfortable. While the hotel advertises its design qualities there are a few aspects that could be improved. The bed only has a shelf on one side and that is tucked back into an alcove so that it is not easy to reach from the bed. The main lights are also only controlled from one side of the bed, the opposite side from the shelf, so that a single person has to choose between having a shelf or being able to turn off the lights. The access to internet appears to have been changed so that one has to log in each time one opens one's computer. Previously members only had to log in once during their stay. The way the beds are made up could also be improved: for some reason the duvey only comes about three-quarters of the way up the bed, so that it has to be untucked from the bottom and sides and pulled up the bed to give full coverage. This seems unnecessary.
We found Motel 1 excellent value for money and in a good central location in Newcastle. We liked its stylish simplicity, cleanliness and friendly, efficient staff. We had a great night’s sleep in the very comfortable bed. Thank you Motel 1. The bathroom only dropped a point for the magnifying mirror being too low for me.
It was excellent value. Liked the staff, who were helpful, obliging and cheerful. Mattress was s bit soft, but other than that, great!

Très belle chambre, accueil agréable et personnel disponible ; malheureusement, la rue est très bruyante et l'isolation sonore insuffisante.
Bon accueil et personnel attentionné et agréable. Très bonne situation de l hôtel au milieu des centres d intérêts les plus importants : historiques, festifs. Chambre et literie agréables, ainsi que le lieu d accueil et de détente dans l hôtel. Chambre très calme. Sanitaire satisfaisant mais matériel peu solide.

Bel hôtel, très bien situé à 6 mn à pied la gare centrale et du métro (qui relie l’aéroport international). En plein centre ville entouré de bars et restaurants, près des monuments (cathédrale, château…) et 1/4 h à pied du stade de football St James Park. Personnel agréable, propreté de l’hôtel et des chambres, bar (ouvert toute la nuit) et salons superbes ! Tout était parfait

J'ai été satisfait de façon générale. Ma principale remarque concerne le peu de place pour le rangement des vêtements.
La chambre, bien qu'exiguë, était d'une propreté immaculée, comme d'habitude chez vous. Lit confortable, serviettes +++, personnel accueillant et serviable, proximité de la gare et du centre-ville. Hélas, vue très limitée sur un mur d'entrepôt... C'est un peu triste. Autre problème, la température, assez basse (difficile de régler le chauffage). Par ailleurs, pourquoi continuer d'utiliser de la petite vaisselle jetable pour la collation ?
Les chambres sont un peu petites mais confortables. Il y a tout ce dont vous avez besoin. Un peu bruyant, surtout le week-end...
Bonjour, Dans le contexte actuel du changement climatique, il me parait particulièrement triste, voir ridicule, de mettre la climatisation, aussi forte, qui plus est au royaume uni. Tous les clients avaient des pulls au petit déj. Quelle perte d'énergie!

Notre Motel One Newcastle situé au cœur de la ville est teinté du charme des briques apparentes. Le style industriel de la façade authentique en briques rappelle le passé de ville ouvrière de Newcastle. Les attractions touristiques telles que le Theatre Royal, la statue de Charles Grey (Grey’s monument) et l’hôtel de ville ne sont qu’à un jet de pierre. La proximité avec la gare centrale et l’aéroport sera également pratique pour vos déplacements.
