I enjoyed everything the hotel had to offer. Service, food, cleanliness, location. The only problem was my room backed onto a noisy alley at night, it was annoying. Other than that it was perfect! Thank you!
Motel One is very well situated for travellors and has the best continental breakfast. Rooms were very small and hard to control the temperature.
We had a terrible experience with a bnb and needed to move. The staff helped with our booking and found us a room right away. The hotel is in a great location near the train station and walking distance from great neighbourhoods and special sights. The room was simple and modern with a nice bathroom and a comfortable clean bed, just what we needed. The reception staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet had lots of variety and was very good. We enjoyed our stay.
What a fantastic stay! This hotel is perfectly situated, making it incredibly easy to get to from the train station. We spent our days happily walking to all the sights, which was ideal. On top of that, the hotel was very clean, and the staff were wonderfully friendly and welcoming. Considering the excellent value for the price, we couldn't have asked for more.
I did your online check in before I arrived. It said "Full digital check-in. No waiting time at the reception desk". But when I arrived I still had to queue at reception to check in and get our room cards. Either don't offer online check in, because it is misleading, or have a way of collecting your room card, without queueing at reception.
Clean, comfortable, and very convenient to points of interest, as well as transportation to other Scottish locations. The Front Desk staff were all pleasant and helpful, and I would highly recommend this hotel.
The hotel was in a great location, staff was attentive and went above and beyond to meet our needs. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Me and my mum had a lovely stay very central to everything 2 min walk to station, breakfast was nice too room was very clean but it was expensive to stay here which is probably for the location the only one thing is that the room was cold in evening and you couldn’t put the heating on all staff on reception were lovely and very welcoming Thank you ☺️
Staff when checking in were friendly and helpful in storing luggage since we were early. Check-out staff wasn't as friendly and a bit dismissive. The room was a bit basic for the 299 pounds we paid. The room's heating didn't work. There are better options in the Edinburgh for sure.
Great location close to Edinburgh Castle. Quiet area at night. Nice room and a very nice bathroom!
Very good hotel. Comfortable rooms, very helpful staff, delicious breakfast. It was my second stay at your hotel and I hope I’ll be able to visit again!
The hotel is generally a very good one but we pay the price of a 5 star without the service that comes with it. The employees were nice but no help was offered to help with the luggages despite the fact that my mum had an arm splint and there were stairs. It could be good to have a slope path instead of stairs. What could improve the room which is really a very good one is a small fridge. The location is great. What I find a pity is the breakfast offered very limited choice in vegan. It could have been nice to have some vegan proteins such as vegan ham and some coffee options with plant based milks
Motel One Edinburgh - Royal is one of the elements for a fantastic trip that I had in Edinburgh recently. As a single traveler, I always felt safe there. The Cosy room was adequately appointed for one person, and equipped with a safe deposit box which is very important to me. The location is unbeatable. It sits right at the gateway between Old Town and New Town, making it convenient for travellers to traverse both areas. It’s only just a 3-minute walk to Waverley train station, an extra plus point as you can just walk there to catch your train. What truly sets this hotel apart from others is the genuine warmth of its employees. From the moment I stepped into the hotel till I left, this has been consistent throughout. They are ever so patient whenever you have any questions. Once, I showed one of the Front Office associates all the different coins that I had, and asked him to point out to me the different denominations which he did. Yet he went even further, noticing that there were so many coins making my handbag heavy, he offered to exchange them for me into just 2 pounds (so I needed to carry only 2 coins) rather than a handful of them. This was an unexpected gesture. Everyone I met were wonderful, from Anna who managed to get me into a room before official check-in time, to the friendly guy manning the bar and the other Front Office associates who were so engaging. Some suggestions: a telephone in the guestroom to call Reception in case of emergencies, a mini fridge provided in guest room, ironing facilities in guestroom
All good as usual but one bedside light not working, heating control didn't seem to be working and only one coffee cup provided, nothing for water. Room 427
Fantastic location. Our room was lovely (we did pay extra for a room with a view - worth the extra). We enjoyed the breakfast.. Very helpful staff. Only suggestion for improvement - drawer units and a non stick bath mat would be helpful.
Great stay - perfect location, room was clean and quiet, nice bar with cozy lounge area, and helpful staff. Would return!
Chico e incomodo
We traveled for 24 hours without sleep, staff was less than helpful and would not allow us to check in even an hour early. Never was offered assistance with our bags to our room. Went to have breakfast, pastries, meat, cheeses, juice were all still out. Other guest were serving themselves however any new guests, including myself, were all told that breakfast was ending in 15 minutes so we could not grab a plate and they were cleaning up. Our room was less than desirable. Had to use a pillow to prop open the bathroom door since the bathroom was small with water all over the floor from the shower that sprayed everywhere.
Fabulous Location , close to train station . Shower was good and comfortable bed .
Motel One never disappoints. Staff is friendly and helpful, rooms are clean and efficient.
We will recommend MotelOne near the Waverley Station Edinburgh for the location, cleanliness and design. An enjoyable stay and a great first experience of hotels in Scotland.
The room felt like a dungeon with only one window at the very top of the wall. In an emergency I am not sure that I could have climbed up to it too get out. When I put the do not disturb sign on my door, housekeeping knocked not once but twice disturbing my sleep. The bar tender was more interested in chatting with other staff members than attending to customer needs. At check out, they just took my key card. They did not ask how my stay was. They did not say thank you for staying with us. I can only hope that in Canada if someone had to pay $600 cdn per night that we would do a much better job!!
Your bedding is too soft, we have back pain.
The rooms could be cleaner and a ironing board with an iron and small fridge would be nice.
Excellent service
The staff was wonderful and accommodating. Room was simple yet had everything needed. Bed and pillows were good. Lounge was very nice and location can’t be beat. My only wish was that they would have king beds that can split to 2 twins.
very good value, lack of space for clothes was the only draw back, but this is consistant with European hotels
Excellent location, nice room and bathroom, staff was friendly and helpful. We got an upgrade at not charge to a larger room. I would stay here again when traveling to Edinburgh.
Given an accessible room due to my wife's mobility problem. Great room and great facilities
Good
Really nice place to stay, so convenient for the station and all the attractions. Nice room, lovely shower almost instant hot water. Safe deposit box a godsend.
I am totally disappointed as I paid higher price for a room with view. The first time was top floor yet with a very reasonable tiny wiindow (like an emergency exit) and the ventilation was very poor. The 2nd time when I come back from Glasgow, was another disaster as there was one window at the ceiling (!!). There is no curtain at all so imagine how you can sleep well with sun set at 10pm and rise at 5am.
The service, morning breakfast, cleanliness and location are great, but can only give it a 5 because our room was so warm. Paid extra for a view room and was put on the 7th floor. Despite air conditioner running full time and use of fan, could not sleep very well - too warm. If paying extra for a view puts you on the hottest floor, I would rather pay less and be put on lower cooler floor.
Motel One Edinburgh Royal has the perfect location. The rooms are comfortable, the breakfast great value for money and the staff pleasant and accommodating.
Great hotel! As tourists, we couldn't have asked for a better location. Just a quick walk from the Edinburgh Castle, Royal Mile, museums, great restaurants. Extremely clean, quiet, comfortable rooms, well thought out with every creature comfort a traveler could ask for. Very warm, friendly and helpful staff. Only one tiny, minor drawback -- there is no place to pull your car up in front to unload your luggage. But not sure the city would allow that. Otherwise, a really terrific property! We totally enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it to friends.
Location and lobby area were great. Staff were really good.
Great location, lovely staff, clean room although small. Very expensive for 3 star. Would recommend for solo travellers.
Stay was good as usual, but just a couple of issues: (a) location was right next to the bins - very noisy in the mornings (b) TV had got stuck on audio described (fixed quickly after a trip to reception (c) unclear how to manage heat/air con in the room - no instructions
Great location for old Edinburgh and railway, buses and taxis. Enjoyed my stay
a basic hotel for £360 per night unfortunately rooms basic no food served in hotel bar / restaurant out side breakfast time just nuts & crips location good for Waverley but wont be staying again
Great location, terrific staff, immaculate room! A shout out to Kyle for being amazing and helpful. Would have been a 10 but no clothing storage to speak of, but we didn't much mind living out of our luggage. Would absolutely return.
Wonderful hotel with an excellent location and outstanding staff. The rooms are always impeccably clean. However, this time I was given a room facing the road and garbage bins, which were emptied early in the morning with a terrible noise. After a 15-hour flight, I couldn’t get the rest I needed.
Excellent
I feel the hotel is overpriced for what they offer and what is available in the hotel room. We were in a room that involved us to take 2 elevators and multiple staircases to get to. It was called a cockburn room and it was absolutely freezing, even after asking for a portable heater. It was unbearable to be in unless you were under the covers. When we told front desk they didn’t seem to care about our experience. The breakfast was very overpriced for what was offered.
I like MotelOne, but this time the Royal was below par. On arrival my BeOne membership was not recognised. While the room was a standard Motel One facilities, with a comfy bed and shower and wide screen TV. The room was exceptionally dark. The light needed to be on during the day. There was a small windows with a street light directly in line with the window, which on my last night started to flash strobescopically. It was next to a passage way towards the royal mile. Later in the evening it was exceptionally noisy with the high spirited using the adjacent passage between 11pm and 2am, disturbing my sleep. I felt the value of this room was not worth what I was charged. The area would be more appropriate for Storage and not a guest experience. I have stayed many times at this location, but this time I could not recommend this location. It was just an awful experience.
Motel One’s location is excellent, steps from the Royal Mile with plenty of restaurant and pub choices. The staff is genuine and friendly. The lobby is spacious and we enjoyed the simple breakfast which wS delicious and quick. We enjoyed sleeping with our park side window cracked open. Our only disappointment was in the poorly designed storage place. No drawers and the top shelf was too high for a 5’3 and 5’6 to safely use. Also I would recommend having a rubber mat for the slippery shower floor.
Lacking some essentials such as iron, lotions. Space between bed and window too narrow
Have stayed there a few times and we like it's central position. The staff are nice and breakfast is grand. I have one complaint and that would be that the second day of our stay was warm and sunny and that lead us to having a very hot bedroom at night and there was really no way to cool the room down. No aor con, no fan and the window wouldn't open enough to let cooler air in. We usually stay in Edinburgh in the winter, but in future, if we do come in the summer, we would not choose motel one, but somewhere where there was more attention paid to guest comfort at night.
Great location, nice breakfast. Room was a bit warm.

Botaniczne detale dekoracji i obsadzona prawdziwymi paprociami i mchem tylna ściana recepcji nadają wnętrzom hotelu uroku szkockiego krajobrazu.
Oczywiście: liczne puby, restauracje i kawiarnie.
