over crowed, hectic, overpriced - might be due to the fair season in Hamburg. In general, I think a Motel One booking is one that is always on the safe side. Yet, with Motel One Alster I m twisted, just dont like it pretty much
Actually we were disappointed with the hotel. We chose it for our travel time in Hamburg due to the proximity to the train station and because it advertised an airport shuttle for our departure which was apparently false. The room was small and the bathroom tiny. We paid big money for basically a bed and a bathroom. There were no extra amenities like a fridge or coffee pot, not that there would have been room for those. The room was clean and made up daily and the bar area with the patio was pleasant.

Normally a great hotel. Super breakfast and clean. Issue with no hot water for a morning shower was 'beyond hotel's control' but the empathy and concession to make me want to revisit was not!
there were bushels of long black hair on the carpet. there was a clearly visible layer of dust on the upper cupboard.
Like to mention the bar staff for excellent service.
Room was small. Temperature uncomfortably warm. No way to control. Nice bath / shower. 3rd day price exorbitant. I want to especially commend Malissa at the front desk. She did an extraordinary job helping us book the first two nights over the phone from the airport. She signed us up as a B1 member. She is exceptionally friendly and caring. Her efforts were above and beyond expected!
I've stayed at several hotels in the Motel-One group, and I'm always very satisfied with what I find there.
Breakfast room very crowded and no place to sit No water at the room - had to buy one bottle for 6€ Construction work in front of window which started at 6.30 in the morning
good room for work travel. only my room 201 did not have a table & chair setup for office work. I used the lobby table. everything else was good.
Going to where the hotel is located on foot does not give the best impression of Hamburg. But overall very accessible and walkable from the city center. The hotel is also near the U-Bahm station which is a big plus!
nice and friendly
Friendly staff, clean and stylish. It was also fantastic that the hotel opened breakfast as early as 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, as we were taking part in a cycling race.

Excellent location, very kind and helpful personnel, clean rooms, beautiful view, easy access by U-Bahn line, lots of shops and restaurants around, esp. down by St.Georg church is a very lively place. I would love to go back to this Motel One!

Motel One is for me the best value money. Since I have stayed for the first time there, I look for one in every city I travel to.
Comfortable room with everything we needed. Excellent location for our travels
The location is close to the train station and very close to the underground. However, the area the hotel is located in is very problematic with a lot of drug addicts and it does not feel safe.
First room they sent me: Tv didn’t work. I wanted to watch word championship soccer. They offered me a room change. I agreed. Room was OK. Bathroom is very small but OK, water for shower was not warm enough. I didn’t mention this, I forgot.
Clean, nice staff, nice beds, AC was not working due to the extreme heat outside but got compensated for it.
Experience really positive. I appreciated accomodation e kindness at the reception. Very good position close public transport.

The friendliness of the staff is amazing. We felt really comfortable. It's a great place for the money. Subway station right in front of the door so that you don't have to walk through problematic streets which are in the general area. The vegan breakfast options were alright but there wasn't much to choose from. I wish motel one would improve on that in the future.

Pleasant stay and staff
The bathroom was a bit too small. The air conditioning in the guest rooms struggled to cope with the high temperatures in Hamburg. The guest rooms and lobby were clean, and the staff were very friendly.

The hotel is ok, the bed is very comfortable and the staff is nice but I have stayed in 2 different rooms in the last 2 weeks and the first one the water in the shower was changing all the time, going from extremely hot to cold. In the second room the AC was not working properly.
The hotel staff is welcoming. Welcomes the guest with a warm smile. Helps in choosing the city tour destinations and convenient arrival times. The rooms are spacious enough. The beds are very comfortable. The breakfast is very rich and varied. The hotel itself should not be called a motel but at least a 3-star hotel.
Une atmosphère détendue et conviviale. Du mobilier confortable et une décoration soignée. Une grande terrasse extérieure très bien aménagée. La possibilité de se servir de la grande table à l'accueil comme poste de travail avec prises électriques et une bonne connexion Wifi. Du personnel souriant et serviable. Je me suis fait voler mon sac à main et toute l'équipe de la réception m'a aidée pour que je puisse faire mes démarches! Un rapport qualité prix imbattable en plus d'une situation parfaite au coeur de Hambourg! Je reviendrai sans aucun doute lors de mon prochain séjour.
Fine price, location ok, reception - not enough people to service in a timely manner
Chambre avec une fuite d’eau. Moquette mouillée quand je suis arrivée. Odeur de grésil pendant tout mon séjour et rideau ne permettant pas de vraiment obscurcir la pièce
The reception staff was friendly and check-in went smoothly and fast. Room had a nice view, but was small. No kettle and tea making facilities, no bottled water. Breakfast had nice quality of the food, but the choice was dreadful - one of the poorest breakfasts I've ever experienced in Germany. From warm food - boiled eggs only. I actually didn't like it and won't be returning.
The best part of this hotel was its amazing access to the U-bahn. It was literally steps away.

Receiving you bill before check out was a bit odd
Staff were polite and efficient, room was comfortable with good value breakfast and convenient location
I was checked in a room somebody was already in; the room ha dreally small windows and water was kind of hot/cold, wifi was slow, breakfast had no sausages or ham and only boiled eggs

Prestations correctes, sans distinction par rapport d'autres établissements.
Jamais déçus avec Motel One. Accueil confort propreté déco tout est réuni L’impression d’être un peu partout comme « à la maison ».
entièrement satisfait de mon séjour, chambres confortables ,j'ai apprécié petit jardin à l'arrière de l'hôtel, la décoration et l'atmosphère du lobby + bar
Excellent accueil, superbe vue depuis le 19e étage, propreté et tranquillité impeccables, bar propice aux conversations entre collègues.
Lundi de Pâques le bar était fermé le soir Beaucoup de clients insatisfaits parce qu’ils ne recevaient plus rie à boire. Un Nogo absolut pour une chaîne comme Motel One L’organisation du breakfast était un désastre Les gens se disputaient pour trouver une place libre. Les tables étaient nettoyées avec retard

Hôtel Hambourg-Alster
Dans notre hôtel design, situé dans le quartier branché St. Georg, tout tourne autour du lac Alster tout proche. L’Alster intérieur et extérieur ne sont pas seulement un lieu de loisirs et de détente pour les plaisanciers, les canoéistes et les rameurs. Les parcs et les villas art nouveau des alentours invitent également à flâner et à se reposer. À la réception, vous découvrirez tout d’abord le visage de la ville en hiver. La photo d’une fête populaire sur l’Alster gelé témoigne du grand froid qu’il peut faire à Hambourg. Des lamelles en noyer au-dessus du bar imitent les légères vagues de l’Alster et des accessoires tels que des voiliers, des lampes en forme de lanternes et des bonnets de marins viennent compléter le concept design marin de notre hôtel.
Au Motel One Hambourg-Alster, vous séjournerez dans l’un des quartiers les plus résidentiels de la ville. Les cafés de rue chics, les boutiques et bien évidemment les rives de l’affluent de l’Elbe invitent à se promener en toute tranquillité.
Grâce à sa situation centrale, l’hôtel vous ouvrira la voie vers toutes les attractions de la ville. En seulement quelques minutes de marche, vous arriverez dans l’une des principales rues commerçantes de la ville, la Mönckebergstraße. Les stations de métro (U-Bahn) et de train (S-Bahn) Berliner Tor ainsi que la station de métro Lohmühlenstraße, situées directement devant l’hôtel, vous permettront d’accéder aux transports publics.
