Excellent location, very comfortable room, helpful staff. I was especially delighted to find an English language news channel on the TV.
the air conditioning could work better because the room was too hot
Clean. Good position. Breakfast OK
While the hotel is well situated, during a warm spell the air conditioning was broken and we weren't informed of this until we complained after an uncomfortable night's sleep. We were given a fan after raising our concerns but that only slightly improved the condition in the room. As someone who usually tries to find a Motel One before any other hotels when travelling, this has made me reconsider doing that in future.
Staff was very helpful, we relied on the luggage storage twice and they happily refilled our water bottles. However we found an insect larva in the bathroom ceiling. We did not find more in the room so it was ok, just an attention point for you !

Absolutely Stunning Stay! We had an incredible time at this hotel. The property is absolutely beautiful, exceptionally clean, and highly maintained. Every single member of the staff was incredibly helpful, kind, and welcoming throughout our entire stay. The location is absolutely perfect for exploring Berlin. We will definitely be staying here again on our next trip! Highly recommended.
No hot shower, no phone to call reception in room.
Positive -> 1 - Very nice stay. 2 - The hotel is clean. 3 - The staff is friendly. 4 - Well isolated from outside noise. Negative -> 1 - Air Conditioning was not working while temperatures were already quite high. 2 - 6 EUR for a 700ml bottle of water... 3 - There was an issue with shower, one morning there was no warm water ( not only to me )

We were shocked at the check-in. It was after midnight and we could hardly get inside the hotel and the lady at the reception told us there was no reservation. I told her that I booked it from booking.com and 100% secured it with a credit card. She checked again and said that we were transferred to Motel one Haubtbahnhof this time. After long argument she accepted to pay our taxi to that hotel. We secured the night and the next topic was the rest of the stay because it was a 5 night reservation. After another long argument finally she said we could come back for the rest of the stay. When we come back on the following day another gentleman at the reception explained the situation that there was only one room with a defective door lock left and he decided to transfer us. This was a really bad experience that I never had before.
Staff very friendly and professional
I have lived with Motel-One on multiple occasions. Both Private and Business, and I have further recommended highly to all my colleagues in our organization. However living in Motel One Berlin-Hackescher Markt did no where near living up to that. Rooms was fine and all that. But being woken up Saturday morning "hotel manager"? at 06:10 am, whom is screaming, and really pressing to get in, to where, I obviously react, as she is waking us up and threatening to come in if we don't open as she was facing a so called "emergency"..? Guys, I was fucking sleeping, sorry my French, so why on earth is she threatening that she will just go in? Woman you are waking us up at 06:10 what the f are you expecting? OK, I open the door to a horrible attiude and she just goes in and says there is an issue with water, she touches the floor once, and open the bathroom and she says, oh well all good here??? So I tell her, next time you wake someone up at this hour with this attitude, just think about how you are saying things, and how you are communicating, all is good, but we wont accept this attitude coming from someone who needed us? This really stuck with us the rest of the stay, as 2 hours later the cleaning lady knocked once before opening the door? Sunday she just opened the door without knocking. There was a massive lack of how to behave when you are in the industry of service. No smiles, which is the most free bonus point, not once were we greeted with smiles from any workers, besides the very capable bartender we was served by Saturday early evening.
It was generally a pleasant stay but unfortunately the otherwise mostly good experience was ruined at check-out. I checked out on May 7th just after 6:30am, asking the receptionist for a printed copy of the bill. To make sure, I had already asked at check-in if I could have a printed copy when I check out an they confirmed this. However, the receptionist at check-out claimed that it was technically not possible -- and worse, he was extremely unfriendly and clearly not service-minded. I asked him if they didn't have a printer that was working but he said it had nothing to do with the printer -- bills could only be sent via email. Clearly, this was a blatant lie because when I picked up my suitcase around 6pm, the receptionist who was now on duty had absolutely no problems printing a copy of the bill for me. Not a good customer experience. Other than that, I found it odd that when asking for an iron on the first day, the receptionist said they only had one iron and that I therefore had to bring this and the ironing board back myself as soon as I had finished. I've never ever stayed at a hotel where I've been asked to carry the ironing board and iron back to the reception myself. My colleagues were laughing and shaking their heads when I told them the story. I also noticed that outside the room opposite of mine, an iron had been placed outside the door -- where it remained for at least two days without anyone from the staff collecting it. Finally, the highlight of my stay: My watch had gone missing and I did not know where (I searched high and low) but apparently room service had found it -- they placed it neatly on the bedside table which I was very grateful for (I left a well-deserved EUR 20 note in the room as finder's fee).

From arrival to departure I greatly enjoyed my stay at Motel One, as I have at other Motel One hotels throughout Europe. Cleanliness and service are of a very high standard and with always a friendly welcome. Motel One is the hotel of first resort for me.

Petit déjeuner varié et de bonne qualité. 2 points m ont dérangée: - la télévision qui s enclenche qd on rentre ds la chambre est une hérésie ! Cela ne sert à rien, on a envie d etre au calme qd on rentre dans sa chambre. - on a du payer en arrivant et non en partant...C est un accueil particulier !

The hotel was nice and the bar area good. The room was clean but pretty basic. No conditioner and no face cloths in the bathroom which would have been nice.

Everything was overall great.
I had attached my bat caps in the bathroom for it to dry and it was thrown away. I had left one towel on the floor but it was not changed (it was hung at the place of my bathh cap actually). There is no fridge nor coffee machine in the room

Great location, great staff, easy parking with option to charge your electric car. One minor nuisance are the showers, the water easily spills from the edge onto the bathroom floor. Which can easily be solved and is simply a design flaw.

It is not a cheap hotel, and I did not expect the guest to have to bring alone a water bottle into the room. I missed the coffee/tea maker in the room. We had an early flight, I asked if we could get some sandwiches or bakery before leaving the hotel (5 and 15in the morning), and the guy at the reception said it is not possible, (in some other hotels it is since we paid for breakfast that day)
The cleaners came into my room at 9:30am. I was in my bathroom showering. When I screamed, they yelled sorry and went out. I don't understand why cleaners want to enter rooms that aren't checking out at such an early time. The next day, cleaners also knocked my room around 9am. I had to tell them I'm inside once again. If cleaning is required at such an early hour, you should have a better system identifying who's ready for cleaning ('im ready for cleaning'sign).

Motel One - wie immer top!
Motel One is really good chain for staying in hotel with a budget. Good beds, decent sized rooms. I especially like Hackescher-Markt location because of its' convinent location close to all the public transport options. One point goes because Motel-One doesn't have fridges in the rooms. That would make a big difference on my stay.
It is a newer hotel in a good location, was very clean, and the staff was personable and attentive. However, the room was small and the breakfast was disappointing.

Good location , nice helpful staff at desk. Decent breakfast. Room could have been a little bit bigger Typical Europe city hotel size.
I really like motel one and almost always stay here when in Berlin. This time not quite as happy as usual, as i had no air con and although it was cooler than normal for August the room did get quite stuffy. There was an offer to move room on 2nd night, but couldn't move me on 1st night as hotel was full. I didn't really want the trouble of moving room on night 2 as i already had unpacked some of my things, so just stayed in the room. I was really surprised that for a chain the size of motel one there was no maintenance on the weekends to fix the air conditioning.
Great staff, room was nice but a bit small. Esp. the barkeeper during our first night created a great atmosphere and did delicious cocktails.
Hotel was excellent, facilities, the room, everything was perfect except from one thing. Veranda was closing from 22.00 so when I wanted to have a drink outdoors it wasnt possible. The s-bahn starts at 5:00 am and you can hear it but the noise isnt disturbing! And every night there was a very bad odor outside the hotel! Inside the hotel it was ok! In general i recommend this hotel is near the center and hackesher markt where you can find everything! Good prive nice hotel

Bonne localisation, décor au goût de jour, personnel très sympathique et compétent. Les chambres sont efficaces, mais petites. Tous les chambres ont des lits Queen seulement (pas de deux lits ou deux lits doubles etc). Je retournerais :)
Hotel quasi neuf. Bon accueil. Certes bien situé pour se déplacer, mais quartier peu agréable.
Hôtel de grande qualité, et de manière générale un personnel très accueillant et à l'écoute exceptionnelle. L'équipe a su répondre à nos demandes et préoccupations, bien au delà d'une relation strictement commerciale. Nous reviendrons bientôt et le recommanderons bien volontiers.
Hotel très bien situé avec une salle de déjeuner accueillante. Chambre petite mais bon rapport qualité prix. Attention à la climatisation à fond, on a froid dans les parties communes.
