Everything was fine. The fact that the shower doesn't have a door is annoying. Water spills on the floor.
Excelente estadía en ubicación inmejorable en el centro histórico de Basel. Prestaciones perfectas para viaje tanto de negocios como de placer. Faltaría frigobar en las habitaciones para hacer de la estadía algo perfecto. El desayuno y las habitaciones y sobre todo la atención del personal 10 puntos. Un detalle, adoré los caramelos de cortesía a la salida...! Gracias Motel ONE espero pronto poder visitarlos nuevamente!
I had a wonderful experience at this hotel! The atmosphere and overall vibe are exceptional—warm, welcoming, and full of character. The location couldn’t be better: right in the old town, just a 10-minute walk to the beautiful Rhein River, and with a tram station only a few steps away, getting around was incredibly convenient. My room was cozy, spotless, and very comfortable—perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The reception area is stylish and inviting, setting a great tone the moment you walk in. Overall, this hotel combines comfort, charm, and an unbeatable location. I’d happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Good hotel in central position. Clean room, good bed, practically no other furniture in the room. Italian TV not available. Smal but good bathroom. Good breakfast but no private table available. To do breakfast on a armchair is very unconfortable
I appreciated the central location of the hotel and the welcoming staff. However, placing a woman traveling alone on the top floor in the last room at the end of the corridor didn’t seem appropriate. I will mention this next time, thank you.

The breakfast was fine and I liked that gluten free bread was available and good quality. I just would have liked complimentary water and toiletries available in the hotel rooms. Rooms were very clean, which is a non-negotiable. The location was great.

Very friendly and helpful welcome when we arrived and a very spacious room that was kept spotlessly clean. The reception/bar area is attractively designed. We had cocktails that were well made and delicious. Excellent location. We would definitely stay here again.
Overall, the experience was excellent. The staff was friendly, and the rooms were clean. If I had to mention one downside, it would be the breakfast area, which was not very convenient, though the staff made an effort to make us feel comfortable. I will definitely choose this place again for my next visit to Basel.

Absolutely fabulous, I needed a quiet place to work and have a good sleep. I knew that Motel one Basel would be the right place for me.
Excellent stay. We booked the balcony room and it was just perfect with the most calming view over the square just outside the hotel. The hotel location is perfect for walking around the old town and just a 15 minute walk over the bridge to the other side of Basel. Breakfast exceeded expectations and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The staff remembered your names and this made our stay very personable.
Room services were great. Reception provided all type of help.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Motel One. It is my go-to hotel when I am in Europe. Clean, excellent staff, and delicious breakfasts.
Very good, as usual. As requested, I was given a quiet room high up at the back of the hotel, and slept well.
We had a lovely couple of nights in Basel. The room, though not large, was good, a very comfortable bed and excellent shower. All the staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and the location was perfect, situated in the old town, just a short walk to the Rhine river and very close to tram stops, tourist office and restaurants. Our only niggle was that the hairdryer kept cutting out.
Location, rooms, beds, staff, design, almost everything is perfect. The only thing missing is a fridge in the room.

Amazing stay! I usually stay in Sheraton, Hilton, Marriot, etc. But those are beyond expensive for Basel. This was comparable to a Courtyard Marriot. The amenities in room are limited (no coffee, fridge), but it was quiet, clean, the mattresses were firm, good water pressure and the hotel breakfast / bar area and staff made up for it! And to be honest - Marriot and others have cut back on room amenities as well!

I arrived at around 9 PM and there was no one at the reception. I had to ask twice at the bar to call someone.

A Perfect Stay in Basel – Thanks to Motel One My recent stay at Motel One Basel was fantastic from start to finish. The hotel is perfectly located — right in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore Basel’s old town, museums, and cultural spots all on foot. But what really made the experience stand out was the exceptional service, especially from Julian, who went above and beyond to ensure everything was seamless and welcoming. One unexpected highlight was just how close the hotel is to the Rhein — within minutes, I could be swimming or relaxing along the banks with locals. If you're visiting in summer, this proximity to the water is a huge bonus. All in all, Motel One offers comfort, design, and service at a great value, with the added charm of Swiss hospitality. I’ll definitely be back!

Overall, everything at Motel One Basel was great, as usual. The staff, the rooms, and the breakfast are all very reliable and make the stay very enjoyable. One thing I did not enjoy was that although our room from 2-5 June was great , it had an interior view, but this was ok because the windows opened. However, we returned for one night on 9 June, and were given a room in which the r windows did not open, and were not told this upon check in. I would have appreciated an open window or perhaps a free pass for breakfast because of this.

Excellent location in the heart of Basel. Room was very nice and also clean and comfortable bed.. My only disappointment was not being able to get a cup of coffee before 8 AM.
Mediocre is the best way to describe this property. Some staff a mildly friendly, others indifferent. The breakfast service is the worst feature. It is crowded and uncomfortable. Chairs and tables meant for casual conversation are used for eating a meal. How did this setup ever meet Motel One requirements? Awful, soap with far too strong a scent. The view out the window of the room (#105) was depressing.
Buenos días. Conozco la cadena de hoteles one, me gustan, siempre que hay la posibilidad la elijo. En el hotel de basilea he encontrado a faltar alguna mesa más porque los asientos de sillón para mí son incómodos (para el desayuno).

Basilea es una cosmopolita ciudad de las artes y de amor por la tradición. Si está planeando una escapada de fin de semana o un alto en la ciudad, nuestro hotel de diseño es el punto de partida perfecto para explorar la ciudad. Justo ante nuestro hotel se encuentra Barfüsserplatz, el cruce de tranvías más importante de la ciudad. Desde allí podrá disfrutar de unas estupendas vistas de la Iglesia Barfüsserkirche. En la plaza hay numerosas casas históricas de preciosas fachadas. El contraste con el diseño moderno y abstracto de nuestro One Lounge es verdaderamente curioso.

A orillas del río Rin se alza un auténtico símbolo de la ciudad, la catedral de Basilea, que domina al resto de los edificios. Nuestro consejo: Cruce el Rin y admire la catedral desde la orilla opuesta. Su arenisca roja y coloridos ladrillos darán para muy buenas fotos. Por cierto: la iglesia fue construida entre 1019 y 1500 y es de estilo románico y gótico.
A lo largo del río, jalonado de cafeterías y restaurantes, llegará a Mittlere Brücke, el puente sobre el Rin más antiguo de la ciudad. El puente sirve de frontera entre el Alto Rin y el Rin Superior, y fue levantado en el siglo XIII. El puerto de Basilea supone un drástico contraste que cada vez atrae a más fans. Y es que en los últimos años se ha revelado como punto de encuentro, gracias a su escena alternativa de bares y clubes. Allí se podrá dar un paseo, ver, disfrutar de deliciosa comida y observar los barcos, sobre todo en verano. Por supuesto, recomendamos encarecidamente que se eche unos bailes.
