Mediocre experience this time - after two times of very good experience.
Great location and helpful staff, but rooms lacked space, pillows, and we were not allowed to sit in the lobby with snacks.
HI Motel one, the hotel Washington very good and in a special place in Basilea. The only problem is for my family the carpet (moquette) in the room....for allergie... All the rest Washington perfetc!

Location is perfect, stuff are so friendly I can't describe, rooms are clean. For me definitely place to stay for my next Basel visit. 10/10 in every possible way.
Your staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel's situation was very convenient for our tourist travel purposes. I cannot assess the lounge or bar because we did not make use of them. A small fridge and a kettle would be useful additions to the room.

Best hotel stay in my two-week urban tour of western central Europe...I was given an unexpected upgrade to a gorgeous room on the top floor...truly spectacular. Thank you!!
Good location. Basic but practical
Motel was neat and clean. Staff was multi-lingual, friendly, helpful and professional. Served a nice European breakfast so do not expect American fried eggs, bacon, waffles, toast, etc. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

Good value for money, but a couple of things to add would make it a 10: - The air conditioning wasn’t low enough, I was hot in the room and couldn’t make it cooler - a mini fridge. I would have liked to keep a drink cool overnight. Had to keep going down to bar to ask for ice. The receptionist on my checkout day was lovely (I didn’t get her name). I had to make a call to London to contact my airline but i didn’t have a SIM on my phone to call and since there are no public phones anymore, she allowed me to call the airline from reception, which I was so grateful for. The lady at the bar was wonderful and was never an issue to keep topping up my glass with ice. I would stay again, just would love to have a fridge next time and to be able to cool the room more.
The hotel was quite unique and appealing in appearance and the staff was very welcoming and helpful. We had the buffet breakfast one morning and the selection and quantity was very good. Our room was basic but very comfy. Would stay there again or at other locations

Had a lovely stay at Motel One Basel. The room was very comfortable (as was the Aircon, outdoor temperature was 37c!). Nicole at the front desk was very cheerful and helpful, telling us about the Suisse National Day celebrations about the city. The location was perfect, near busses, trams, good restaurants and bars.

We were very pleased we chose to stay at Motel One in Basel with its very convenient central location, modern decor and friendly and helpful staff. The room was comfortably furnished, the bathroom fittings high end and the cleaning service was excellent.

Fabulous staff, great location. Lovely bar area, rooms and excellent breakfast. I struggled to find my way back to the reception from my room but that's not unusual and says more about me than the hotel :)
For the past five years, your hotel has been my number one choice whenever I stay in Basel. The location is simply perfect, and everything about the hotel consistently exceeds my expectations—from the comfortable, clean rooms to the welcoming lobby and overall atmosphere. What truly makes this hotel exceptional is the staff. Everyone is warm, friendly, and professional. Special thanks to Nicole and Mr. Tamer at the reception, as well as Mr. Mohamed and David at the bar, for always making my stay enjoyable. A very special thank you to Mr. Tamer for his outstanding professionalism, kindness, and willingness to help. He is always happy to provide any information I need about the city, and his excellent service makes every visit even more pleasant. This time, I have been staying at the hotel since 1 July, and today is 18 July—I haven’t even checked out yet! Staying here truly feels like being at home, and that’s why I keep coming back year after year.
Convenient location, modern and clean hotel, friendly staff.
the room was cosy but I missed a table to work on it. the door of the toilet closed automatically no tent were present so I should keep the curtains closed all the time
Great location, easy to walk in Old Town. But, no air conditioning! Rooms are hot, very hard to sleep. You have to sleep with your windows open and the street noise is very loud all night long..
A fantastic hotel in a prime location. Great to have a tasty breakfast included, and the staff were all friendly and helpful. The only thing stopping it being perfect was the location of my room, which overlooked the inside of the New Yorker store in the same building. This made it feel dark and somehow not private (even though there was privacy film on the appropriate part of the window). However, the room itself was comfortable, and I appreciated the provision of an excellent Dyson fan to keep it cool in the hot weather. I hope to return to Motel One Basel soon and look forward to trying out the chain's other properties.
I got stranded in Basel and ended up in Motel One. I was so suprised by the hospitality and kindness of all the staff. Everyone was extremely helpful and friendly, I will definitely recommend this hotel to others!

Staff at the reception is very competent and friendly. Room small but clean and quiet. Location is excellent! Quit expensive for the tiny room, but it was Art Basel this weekend.
Though I had a challenging check-in due to an employee who was new to the team and stressed with my asking for a pro forma to see exact charges rather than showing a number on the calculator in her hand - the programs was CHF 120 lees than what she had showed me. Then it took more than five minutes to deduct three breakfast charges as my partner left before me. It was troublesome

It was really good. Location is great and the staff are very friendly. However a few features in the room are missed like lotion, and a mini fridge.
The hotel exceeded my expectations in many ways. It was very clean, and the location is perfect—close to all major attractions and convenient for getting around. I was also pleasantly surprised with a room upgrade, and the room was extremely comfortable, which made my stay even more enjoyable. The only downside was the breakfast. The bread and croissants were disappointing and could definitely be improved. Overall, I had a great stay and would still recommend this hotel.

Přímo na břehu Rýna ční katedrála v Basileji jakožto zdejší dominanta nad okolní budovy. Náš tip: přejděte řeku na druhou stranu a podívejte se na katedrálu z protilehlého břehu. Se svými věžičkami z červeného pískovce a barevně vzorovanou střechou je odtud skvělým námětem pro fotografii. Katedrála mimochodem vznikla mezi lety 1019 a 1500 a je postavena v románském a gotickém stylu.
Podél břehu lemovaného kavárnami a restauracemi se dostanete k Mittlere Brücke, nejstaršímu mostu přes Rýn ve městě. Historie mostu, který je považován za hranici mezi Horním Porýním a Vysokým Rýnem, sahá až do 13. století. Stále větší pozornost přitahuje také basilejský přístav. Ten se v posledních letech proměnil v centrum místní alternativní barové a klubové scény a je dnes opravdovým místem protikladů. Právě v létě je jako stvořený pro procházky, objevování, vychutnávání a pozorování lodí. Tancování je přitom samozřejmě vysloveně vítáno.
