It was really good. Location is great and the staff are very friendly. However a few features in the room are missed like lotion, and a mini fridge.
The hotel exceeded my expectations in many ways. It was very clean, and the location is perfect—close to all major attractions and convenient for getting around. I was also pleasantly surprised with a room upgrade, and the room was extremely comfortable, which made my stay even more enjoyable. The only downside was the breakfast. The bread and croissants were disappointing and could definitely be improved. Overall, I had a great stay and would still recommend this hotel.

Better seating for breakfast. There aren't enough seats at the table, and eating at the coffee table isn't very comfortable. It would also be nice if there were more hot dishes on the menu.

This was my first time in this hotel and it was a good impression.
Our experience was excellence. We were able to reserve a group booking and this was very much appreciated. Ms Leroux did a fantastic job and was very friendly and client oriented. In addition, our check-in time das done in 20' as we had to leave for a guided tour at Novartis Campus. The fast check-in has been handled greatly!! Many thanks.
Everything was fine. The fact that the shower doesn't have a door is annoying. Water spills on the floor.

The location couldn’t be better: right in the old town, just a 10-minute walk to the beautiful Rhein River, and with a tram station only a few steps away, getting around was incredibly convenient. My room was cozy, spotless, and very comfortable—perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The reception area is stylish and inviting, setting a great tone the moment you walk in. Overall, this hotel combines comfort, charm, and an unbeatable location. I’d happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Good hotel in central position. Clean room, good bed, practically no other furniture in the room. Italian TV not available. Smal but good bathroom. Good breakfast but no private table available. To do breakfast on a armchair is very unconfortable
I appreciated the central location of the hotel and the welcoming staff. However, placing a woman traveling alone on the top floor in the last room at the end of the corridor didn’t seem appropriate. I will mention this next time, thank you.

The breakfast was fine and I liked that gluten free bread was available and good quality. I just would have liked complimentary water and toiletries available in the hotel rooms. Rooms were very clean, which is a non-negotiable. The location was great.

Very friendly and helpful welcome when we arrived and a very spacious room that was kept spotlessly clean. The reception/bar area is attractively designed. We had cocktails that were well made and delicious. Excellent location. We would definitely stay here again.
Overall, the experience was excellent. The staff was friendly, and the rooms were clean. If I had to mention one downside, it would be the breakfast area, which was not very convenient, though the staff made an effort to make us feel comfortable. I will definitely choose this place again for my next visit to Basel.
Absolutely fabulous, I needed a quiet place to work and have a good sleep. I knew that Motel one Basel would be the right place for me.
Excellent stay. We booked the balcony room and it was just perfect with the most calming view over the square just outside the hotel. The hotel location is perfect for walking around the old town and just a 15 minute walk over the bridge to the other side of Basel. Breakfast exceeded expectations and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The staff remembered your names and this made our stay very personable.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Motel One. It is my go-to hotel when I am in Europe. Clean, excellent staff, and delicious breakfasts.
Very good, as usual. As requested, I was given a quiet room high up at the back of the hotel, and slept well.
We had a lovely couple of nights in Basel. The room, though not large, was good, a very comfortable bed and excellent shower. All the staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and the location was perfect, situated in the old town, just a short walk to the Rhine river and very close to tram stops, tourist office and restaurants. Our only niggle was that the hairdryer kept cutting out.

Location, rooms, beds, staff, design, almost everything is perfect. The only thing missing is a fridge in the room.
Heel fijne ervaring. Wij verbleven er 1 nacht omdat we op doortocht waren naar Italië, maar zouden dit hotel zeker aanraden aan anderen! Wij komen ook zeker terug moesten we nog eens langer naar Bazel komen. Mooie lobby, grote propere kamer en uitgebreid ontbijtbuffet. Heel fijn dat het kinderbedje klaarstond voor ons kindje (1jaar). Heel snelle reactie gekregen op aanvraag voor kamer met kinderbed.

Goede bedden, zeer schoon en goede ligging. Minpuntje is de douchedeur: die was open aan de onderkant zodat de vloer van de badkamer nat werd.
Prettige sfeer. Aardige mensen. Het enige dat ik jammer vond is dat het raam niet open kon, want ik houd van buitenlucht.
Iets meer haakjes om bijv kleding op te hangen zouden fijn zijn geweest. In de lounge miste ik meer mogelijkheden om gewoon 'aan tafel te zitten'. Met name bij het ontbijt is dat wel erg fijn. Voor niet-Zwitsers blijft de prijs schrikbarend hoog, maar ik weet van andere motel one hotels in europa dat de prijzen daar heel OK zijn.
Heel fijn hotel om als uitvalsbasis te hebben voor zakelijke afspraken. Goede ligging, comfortabele kamers, vriendelijk personeel.

Wie een keer in Bazel is geweest, komt terug. En dat merken wij niet alleen in ons moderne hotel direct aan de Barfüsserplatz. Nachtuilen ontvangen wij in al onze hotels graag aan de receptie die het klokje rond open is. En deze service is vooral voor Bazel-bezoekers zeer interessant, want het nachtleven met zijn ontspannen clubs en zijn relaxte opendeurpolitiek is een echte aanrader. Bazel ligt direct aan het drielandenpunt Zwitserland-Duitsland-Frankrijk en deze drie nationaliteiten zorgen in de stad aan de Rijn voor een bonte mix. Daarnaast heeft deze veelzijdige metropool ook als beurzencentrum en met zijn chemische-farmaceutische industrie naam gemaakt. Goodkope designhotels in Bazel - jouw Motel One
Bazel is een stad waar kunst, traditie en internationale ingesteldheid centraal staan. Wanneer je een weekenduitstap of een korte vakantie in de stad plant, is ons designhotel de ideale uitvalsbasis voor wie de stad wil verkennen. Direct voor het hotel ligt de Barfüsserplatz, het belangrijkste knooppunt van de stad, van waaruit je een prachtig zicht hebt op de Barfüsserkirche. Langs het plein staan historische huizen met prachtige gevels. Het plein vormt een spannend contrast met het modern-abstracte design in onze One Lounge.
Dichtbij het hotel vind je ook de Tinguely-fontein, zoals de Strawinski-fontein ook weleens wordt genoemd, en daarnaast de Kunsthalle Basel en het Zwitserse Architectuurmuseum. Houd jij van mooie kunst en architectuur? Hier worden afwisselende tentoonstellingen en evenementen georganiseerd. De Munster van Bazel, de Rijnoever en het Rathaus, allemaal te bezichtigen aan het drielandenpunt
De Munster, het stadssymbool van Bazel, ligt direct aan de Rijn en steekt uit boven alle andere gebouwen van de stad. Onze tip: Steek de Rijn over en bekijk de Munster eens vanaf de andere kant. Met zijn rode zandsteen en gekleurde bakstenen is het gebouw van hieruit bijzonder fotogeniek. De kerk werd overigens tussen 1019 en 1500 gebouwd in de romaanse en gotische stijl.
Wandelt je verder langs de Rijn die wordt omzoomd met cafés en restaurants, kom je bij de Mittlere Rheinbrücke, de oudste brug over de Rijn in Bazel. De brug wordt beschouwd als grens tussen de Oberrhein en de Hochrhein en dateert van de 13e eeuw. Een echt contrast vormt de haven die ondertussen ook steeds meer een plekje verovert in het hart van de bezoekers. De afgelopen jaren is de haven uitgegroeid tot een ontmoetingsplaats voor de alternatieve bar- en clubscène in Bazel. En vooral in de zomermaanden leent de haven zich uitstekend voor wie houdt van slenteren, rondkijken, lekker eten en wegdromen bij de voorbijvarende schepen. En uiteraard zijn dansschoenen in deze stad een must.
