The location is great and we loved our bedroom with the river view. Everything in the room is well designed and sheets good quality, efficient shower and nice toiletries and towels. The only disappointment was that reception were really not welcoming - avoiding eye contact and no welcome. In fact Merle would look at her computer rather than engage with staff. Édouardo was much better even though I could see busy serving drinks.

Good location, not far from old town. And, the hotel have underground parking with Euro11 per day.
Overall, my stay was acceptable, but the room itself was one of the most poorly designed I’ve ever encountered. Several issues stood out: Missing room amenities — The room had no fridge or kettle, which are basic conveniences I expect at this price point. Disability room assignment — I was assigned a disability-access room despite not requesting one. As a result, the layout was impractical: The toilet was unusually high and uncomfortable to use. The shower was completely open, causing water to spread across the entire bathroom. The shower hose had very low pressure, forcing me to stand awkwardly close to the wall. Poor bed quality — The bed consisted of two separate mattresses. One was fine, but the other was clearly worn out and should have been replaced long ago. Breakfast value concerns — I’m glad I didn’t include breakfast. Charging €18 for a selection that offers only boiled eggs as the sole egg option and no vegetables feels unreasonable. On a positive note, the staff were friendly and welcoming. However, the check‑in process needs improvement. I arrived around 09:00 after a long journey and was told my room wasn’t ready because cleaning had just begun. I asked whether an earlier check‑in before 15:00 was possible and was told to check back later. When I returned at 11:00, I received the same answer: rooms were still not ready. A simple improvement would be for the front desk to contact housekeeping and adjust the cleaning order when a guest arrives early. Preparing one room sooner does not take two hours, and I even offered to take an uncleaned room temporarily just so I could shower and get to work in better condition. My suggestion: If early check‑in isn’t possible, the hotel should either: Provide a dedicated shower room for guests waiting for their rooms, or Allow guests to access a room that is already free and clean it afterward. Although I have a company discount for my next visit, I will seriously consider paying a bit more elsewhere for a more comfortable stay.
Staff are very friendly. The room was clean and I was able to check-in early. The only missing point was not having a water bottle in the room, especially with 30+ degrees outside

Great service from the reception lady , we arrived in heavy rain on motorcycles and were treated amazingly well and we even offered to be able to dry our kit, would recommend this place highly

So lovely hotel on the banks of the river, with a convenient riverside path into the old town. It's a short walk (15 minutes), straightforward from the main train station, and a 15-minute walk into the city centre. Our room was with amazing view to the river, very quite and comfortable.

All was good, but the curtains were light enough to let in diffuse light in the morning, which disturbed sleep. The curtains can either be thicker or add more layers.

staff mostly extremely friendly; cleaning staff seems to be understaffed and it shows in the (not) cleanliness of some areas, forgotten tasks (left the trash behind,...); breakfast very good including a vegan selection

This is our first visit to Salzburg and to your hotel, and this was such a great and pleasant experience. As an added note, we have been loyal Motel One guests during our many visits to Europe, including staying at your hotel in Barcelona, Vienna, Amsterdam and Brussels. everything was fine
Great location, friendly staff. Clean hotel. We didn't have breakfast as we thought it was expensive. The outdoor seating area was very nice, specifically as the weather was gorgeous while we were visiting so we were able to sit out with drinks. Our only complaint was that on one evening we were kept awake until the early hours by very noisy guests outside, we did mention this to the staff but they could only suggest moving us to another room, this didn't suit us as were going home the following day. I expected the hotel to have some sort of curfew but apparently not.

Competent and friendly staff; very functional hotel in terms of space layout, with clean and comfortable rooms.
The room was small, the air conditioner didn’t work and the motel was not conveniently located to the downtown area.
Workers started drilling and hammering at 7am in the morning while other guests played loud music till 5am. Didn't get much sleep. Guy at reception was nice and really trying to help though; so props to him.

Rooms and service are excellent, only breakfast is a little poor.
This was our first stay, and we will be very happy to stay here again. Everything was well organized, pleasant, and clean, and we will recommend it to others. The staff was extremely helpful, and this made our stay extra special becasue we were from out of town.
Room temperature was very high, even I set up thermostat on 17 °C and the bathroom was +5°C warmer then the room, so all of my solid state cosmetics melted. Breakfast was very poor, with no warm food.

We were allocated a room which was not make up upon checked in . Went to front desk for a new room again . 10 mins later while sitting on the bed, the ceiling light fell off onto the bed and gave us a fright. Luckily no injury. We were compensated with 2 breakfast vouchers for the unpleasant experience
Nice hotel in the south of Salzburg. You can reach the inner city within 8-10 minutes by bus. Breakfast was very good!

De kamer is zeer klein, maar de prijs zeer hoog. Er is amper ruimte voor je koffer, of een nette manier om je jas op te hangen. Het verlichtingssysteem was erg verwarrend, en het kostte me verschillende pogingen om de verlichting uit te krijgen. Verder was alles netjes en schoon, goed onderhouden, dat was geen probleem.
Prima kamer en prima ontbijt. Ik had wat problemen om online te boeken en te betalen, maar neb dit opgelost door derde mogelijkheid te kiezen (voor 18:00 uur melden bij receptie en dan betalen)

Een prima hotel op loopafstand van de stad. Klein terras buiten. Ontbijt is goed maar relatief duur ( niets warms). Meeste personeel is vriendelijk en aardig.

Wanneer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart vandaag door de straten van zijn geboortestad zou lopen, zou hij er zich vast en zeker direct weer thuis voelen. Want de op drie na grootste stad van Oostenrijk is nog altijd heel overzichtelijk, boordevol vrolijke en authentieke kroegen en nog altijd het middelpunt van de kunst- en muziekwereld. Alleen nu met een moderne toets.

Goedkope designhotels in Salzburg - jouw Motel One
Als indrukwekkende beurs- en cultuurstad en tegelijkertijd ook Unesco-werelderfgoedstad is Salzburg erin geslaagd zijn imago van historische stad naar het heden te katapulteren, zij het op zachte wijze. Tussen de imposante kastelen en burchten, in de zeer uitgestrekte parken en de beroemde musea is het helemaal niet moeilijk om het heden te vergeten. Wil je een perfect uitzicht over de stad? Dan moet je naar het kasteel Hohensalzburg.
Maar zorg wel eerst voor een gezond biologisch ontbijt in het Motel One, want je zult het nodig hebben om de best wel pittige klim naar boven aan te kunnen. Deze burcht is het grootste kasteel in Europa dat in zijn totaliteit bewaard gebleven is. Ze steekt met kop en schouders uit boven de barokke oude binnenstad en is het enige echte stadssymbool van Salzburg.
Een paar 100 meter van Hohensalzburg bevindt zich de Dom, een ander bouwwerk dat je absoluut gezien moet hebben. Vanaf het Domquartier ben je bovendien ook zo bij de wereldberoemde Getreidegasse nummer 9, waar Mozart in 1756 het levenslicht zag.
De Festspiele en het bonte nachtleven, de culturele toppers van Salzburg
De Salzburger Festspiele lokken als 's wereld grootste festival voor de klassieke muziek en kunst al sinds 1920 kunstliefhebbers naar de stad. Echte toppers op de Festspiele, die in juli en augustus plaatsvinden, zijn het theaterstuk 'Jedermann', diverse concerten van Strauss en Mozart en een opera- en concertprogramma met alleen de allerbeste artiesten.
Naast het festivalseizoen gaat Salzburg niet in winterslaap, integendeel de inwoners van de stad nemen het ervan in de authentieke kroegen en pubs. Een speciale wijk is er niet. De beste plekken voor een goede pint bier liggen verspreid over de hele binnenstad. Op de plattegrond lijkt het misschien alsof alles ver uit elkaar ligt, maar in werkelijkheid ligt alles zeer dichtbij. Na een nachtje feesten tot in de vroege uurtjes slenter je gewoon ontspannen terug naar het hotel en droom je van moderne muziek of... Mozart misschien?
