Although it is not in the hotel policy, a mini bar would be a convenient improvement.
Motel One is always our „go to“ address if we stay in a European city. Clean, stylisch, great breakfast and a „feel at home“ atmosphere

Small room, not comfortable. Only high pillows. Small bathroom, shower with water everywhere. No frigidaire in room. Desk people not very friendly.
A nice hotel in good location for my needs. Unfortunately, the AC didn't work very well in my two rooms, both rooms had musty smell (room 207 and 422). My friend had a room somewhere on the second floor and she told the AC works good there. Pillows and blankets need replacing, but the beds are really good. A breakfast is delicious, I only missed fresh berries because it's summer. The reception staff were very helpful when we arrived and later when I had some problems 🩷

Overall, my stay was acceptable, but the room itself was one of the most poorly designed I’ve ever encountered. Several issues stood out: Missing room amenities — The room had no fridge or kettle, which are basic conveniences I expect at this price point. Disability room assignment — I was assigned a disability-access room despite not requesting one. As a result, the layout was impractical: The toilet was unusually high and uncomfortable to use. The shower was completely open, causing water to spread across the entire bathroom. The shower hose had very low pressure, forcing me to stand awkwardly close to the wall. Poor bed quality — The bed consisted of two separate mattresses. One was fine, but the other was clearly worn out and should have been replaced long ago. Breakfast value concerns — I’m glad I didn’t include breakfast. Charging €18 for a selection that offers only boiled eggs as the sole egg option and no vegetables feels unreasonable. On a positive note, the staff were friendly and welcoming. However, the check‑in process needs improvement. I arrived around 09:00 after a long journey and was told my room wasn’t ready because cleaning had just begun. I asked whether an earlier check‑in before 15:00 was possible and was told to check back later. When I returned at 11:00, I received the same answer: rooms were still not ready. A simple improvement would be for the front desk to contact housekeeping and adjust the cleaning order when a guest arrives early. Preparing one room sooner does not take two hours, and I even offered to take an uncleaned room temporarily just so I could shower and get to work in better condition. My suggestion: If early check‑in isn’t possible, the hotel should either: Provide a dedicated shower room for guests waiting for their rooms, or Allow guests to access a room that is already free and clean it afterward. Although I have a company discount for my next visit, I will seriously consider paying a bit more elsewhere for a more comfortable stay.

The room was small, the air conditioner didn’t work and the motel was not conveniently located to the downtown area.
Workers started drilling and hammering at 7am in the morning while other guests played loud music till 5am. Didn't get much sleep. Guy at reception was nice and really trying to help though; so props to him.

Room temperature was very high, even I set up thermostat on 17 °C and the bathroom was +5°C warmer then the room, so all of my solid state cosmetics melted. Breakfast was very poor, with no warm food.

Nice hotel in the south of Salzburg. You can reach the inner city within 8-10 minutes by bus. Breakfast was very good!

If you are coming to Salzburg to explore this beautiful city, I highly recommend staying at this hotel. The hotel is 3 km from the city center and has excellent public transport connections. The price of the accommodation is very affordable.
Overall Room quality ok as usual but we didnt get the bus ticket this time which should be included in the local tax. We were under time pressure, but still it should be provided by the staff.

Very pleasant hotel, perfectly clean and well designed. Cocktails should be improved, while cappuccino and coffe were very good! I did not have breakfast , but two friends of mine told me that the buffet was excellent. It is not in the historic center, but the buses (stop just in front) reach downtown in 10-15 minutes. Recommended also for its value for money

Cosy and clean. Nice designs. However replace the paper mugs in the rooms. Improve noise isolation. The slamming doors and noise from the hallway are minuses. Nevertheless I could recommend this hotel. Good price-quality relation.
Good value for money in Salzburg. Nice bar/lounge area, breakfast included vegetarian and vegan options. Finding a hotel with parking can be difficult in Salzburg, but here you have two different parking options nearby. The centre is only a short bus ride away and Salzburg now provides mobility tickets for free if you stay overnight, so there are no extra costs for public transport.
Very nice rooms and lovely lobby to enjoy. So convenient to the bus station and easy to get to town. There were no mini refrigerators in the room, but a great shower, strong blow dryer and great TV.
Dear Motel One staff, I would like to thank you for leaving my phone exactly where I lost it. When I realized that my phone wasn’t with me, I assumed that I must’ve left it in the room somewhere. Prima kamer en prima ontbijt. Ik had wat problemen om online te boeken en te betalen, maar neb dit opgelost door derde mogelijkheid te kiezen (voor 18:00 uur melden bij receptie en dan betalen)

Van harte welkom in ons hotel Motel One Salzburg-Süd aan de Alpenstraße, met het beste uitzicht op ... Je raadt het nooit ... de Alpen! Als je binnenkomt in ons voordelige designhotel en dus de bergen de rug toekeert, rijst het volgende gebergte al voor je op. De achterwand van de bar en de receptie in ons hotel bestaan namelijk uit vier elkaar overlappende glasplaten, die de drie bekende bergketens van het Salzburger Land voorstellen: de Ochsenkopf, de Drie Zinthörner en de Kitzsteinhorn. De balie zelf is bekleed met een houtmozaïek dat bestaat uit gevarieerd stuc- en houtdraaiwerk. Je ziet het al: ook in Motel One Salzburg-Süd vind je ambachtelijk design. In de lounge staan gezellige zithoeken, bekleed met stoffen met traditionele klederdrachtmotieven op onze gasten te wachten. In het ontbijtgedeelte zorgen lampen met verfijnde details en zwart-witfoto’s van Edward Groeger voor de finishing touch. De fotograaf is erin geslaagd om op een authentieke manier het dagelijkse leven van de mensen in het Salzburgerland in zijn werken vast te leggen. Je vindt zijn foto’s ook terug in je kamer. Door hun grote formaat komen zij uitstekend tot hun recht boven het groengemêleerde hoofdeinde van het bed. En je weet het: niet alleen de comfortabele boxspringbedden, maar ook een uitgebreid ontbijtbuffet, gratis wifi en vriendelijk personeel zijn bij ons traditie. Je hebt voor je vakantie in de stad Salzburg met Motel One Salzburg-Süd dan ook het ideale onderkomen gevonden. Hier voel je je alsof je thuis bent.
Het hotel is heel eenvoudig te bereiken bij aankomst: vanaf het station kun je zonder problemen de bus nemen naar ons designhotel Salzburg. Dankzij de ligging in het zuiden van Salzburg is ons hotel bovendien de perfecte uitvalsbasis om het indrukwekkende slot Hellbrunn en het bijhorende park te bezichtigen. De kasteeltuinen van Hellbrunn zijn een architectonisch meesterwerk. De fonteinen uit de late renaissancetijd zijn wereldberoemd. Je kunt ook gemakkelijk met het openbaar vervoer naar het oude stadscentrum gaan in het hart van Salzburg. De mooiste bezienswaardigheden van de stad liggen niet al te ver van het hotel: het geboortehuis van Mozart, het kasteel Mirabell, de burcht Hohensalzburg en de Dom van Salzburg liggen op je te wachten. Mocht je nog willen vragen: ‘Waar kan ik heen in het Salzburgerland?’, dan hebben wij het antwoord. De vierde grootste stad van Oostenrijk is ook interessant vanwege de uitstapjes die je in de directe omgeving kunt maken. Vooral in de zomer kun je naar verschillende meren gaan voor een dagje aan het strand of een zeiltochtje. Om alles uit je verblijf in Salzburg te halen, mag er zeker één ding niet aan het menu ontbreken: de Salzburger Nockerl. Vergeet dus niet naar een van de talrijke restaurants, cafés of eethuisjes in de buurt te gaan.
