Its a nice and clean hotel. The lobby was styled in a very classy way. Our room felt extremely minimal, it was just enough, but nothing more. We feel some basic where missing from the room, the biggest "discomforts" being: * Some water glasses would have been nice (For things like drinking medication at night etc) * Perhaps another pillow, or even a firmer pillow (the bed was very comfortable, but the sleep was not so good due to having almost no neck support from the pillows provided)
Our room was comfortable with all we needed. Somewhat confined but very well designed. The foyer was absolutely outstanding! I just wanted to spend my time there...great bar, excellent breakfast, just a great place to hang out...we would certainly stay again!
A very clean, nice hotel in excellent location (just beside the central train station near the stop of the Lufthansa Airport Express bus). There is a bar inside the hotel and a very comfortable lounge. The room we had was a bit small but very quiet with a window to the inner yard. Very polite staff, too with a real reception desk that is actually available, even at night.

I am a big MotelOne fan. They score on location, value for money, quality of the beds, cleanliness throughout, breakfast offering, bar/lounge area, helpfulness of staff, design and ambiance. The rooms are small but very well designed. The Munich Hauptbahnhof hotel was true to the brand, a great location offering proximity to the Hauptbahnhof and a short walk to the Marienplatz and the kay sights.

Lovely stay. Hotel is fairly new, very clean, and well appointed. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Hotel staff were excellent, very friendly, polite and helpful. Finally, the breakfast was excellent - lots of choices, and they even had gluten free bread ( my wife is celiac).
Your doors are very heavy, difficult to open, no need to close because they close themselves. Housekeepers are terrible, they start to disturb early in the morning. I was checking out yesterday, but he was still opening my door himself to clean the room before I check out. Unbelievable. And the error with the payment, it's another story, how can you have such a mistake in your system and you charge 717 EUR for 2 nights even tough we have a group contract with 222 EUR per night. Never Motel ONE again, never!!!
The rooms were clean and tidy, breakfast was great. I did not like the area around Hauptbahnhof. It is a bit shady in the street and I did not feel particularly comfortable in the night when returning from a dinner place to the hotel.
Location excellent, room small (but I knew that from stays at other MotelOne Hotels), Service at breakast first morning was a disaster, also on the Saturday in the bar in the afternoon (same staff) a disaster. I just took a cappuccion to my room, but several other guests left due to the fact that the wait was tooooooo long. Staff would need guidance how to organize themselves.

Wi-fi is not usable, because its not encrypted. Its very bad approach and anyone can track and read your sessions. Also logging via web browser is nto suitable for company laptop due using VPN. I cannot use wifi because first I have to connect to VPN and then I'm able to open web browser. Get fire your IT and hire someone more skilled.
First time staying at Motel One and overall I was very impressed. The lounge area in particular was lovely and a great way to get out of my room in the evening and read or have a quiet drink. The room was definitely small, but I travel a lot in Japan and the room size was a similar size to what you would find there. Not having a fridge or a kettle is something I missed, but I managed without both for the three nights. Super comfortable bed and pillows and the room was sound proof. I couldn’t get the air con to work though. The area around the hotel might feel dodgy for some people and arriving late at night can be a little unsettling. But, having been to Munich a few times before I know the area isn’t as bad as it looks. But it might put people off. The upside is the location is perfect. Entrance to Hauptbahnhof across the street, Altstadt just a 10 minute walk away and you’re also just a few blocks from good restaurants and a couple of cinemas.
I appreciate the value. One issue was the bathroom with the tiny "shower door" if u could call it that. Everything got wet, no point of having it at all. Rooms are dark, which uses more electricity, sheer curtains under the blackout curtains would be nice, so we can let sunlight in, without giving up our privacy to the other room windows facing us. Also, maybe offering a free self service coffee machine in the lobby for a limited time frame, 6a to 10a for example, would be great and still keep costs down. Overall, great place and perfect location.
Very good location
In line with the high standards of this hotel chain, which I find particularly suitable for business trips. Excellent welcome, with friendly and attentive staff. Rooms are tidy and clean, featuring the simple yet functional minimalist design typical of this brand. The breakfast buffet offers a good selection of both sweet and savoury options. The hotel is just a short walk from the Hauptbahnhof and about twenty minutes on foot from the city centre. However, the close proximity to U- and S-Bahn stations, as well as several tram and bus stops, makes getting around Munich very easy.

Excellent hotel in Munich - best Motel One, I have been so far... particularly the friendliness of the staff, the newly designed lounge and space to work was perfect for me. I also like very much that the rooms were quiet despite the excellent proximity to Munich's main station.

Not able to give an overall score of more than 6 because the room door lock did not work. I complained on the first night and nothing was done. Also the exhaust fan in the shower is inadequate to extract steam from hot shower.

Constant slamming of stair doorway led to little or no sleep the final few nights, neighboring area additionally felt slightly dirty and unsafe once leaving the hotel.

Hotel not bad it is obvious that it was thought a lot however the reception seems very unaware what they are doing, I think in a hospitality businesses the receptionist should not great you as: what do you need? And then stare down at me. There is only two things that could be done at a reception at 22:00 o’clock. Reserve a room or check in, not many people does walk in reservations now since there is 90% chance of checking in and should not be surprised or annoyed someone is checking in.
We really enjoyed our stay at Motel 1, the hotel is brand new! The staff is charming and very helpful, the lobby is stunning in its beauty! The location is excellent, right in the city center and the rooms are cozy and comfortable, clean and have everything you need. Highly recommend, we will be back soon!

Excellent stay at the Motel One Munich Main Train Station. So much to say - welcome experience, room quality/value, and common areas including bar were fantastic and top notch. PS: It's great to be a One Member - got a lovely big bottle of water upon arrival, which we really enjoyed. PPS: Some areas of improvement. All Motel One bathrooms have a door on a hinge that automatically closes - this is super annoying as the fans normally aren't very strong and condensation accumulates on the mirror - also somewhat confining as I prefer the door to be open for air flow - so I put something heavy like a piece of luggage on the door to keep it open - not ideal. Can you please change this as it is a standard in all of your rooms globally and is the only real negative I can highlight across the board. Finally, as a tip - there were a group of young adult men at the bar - drinking so much that they were quite loud and becoming more aggressive as time passed - which was slightly concerning. The bartender continued to serve them a mixture of cocktails, shots and bottled wine and beer well on into the early hours. The bartender finished his shift and passed on the responsibilty to the receptionist. I felt this was really a hazard for the receptionist as he was alone and they were becoming more and more drunk and disorderly as time passed. Perhaps something to look into - overserving your customers and the liability that poses as well as the safety of your staff - it was a disappointing moment that probably should be addressed in the event something like that happens again. Thanks again for everything - other than these two items - we really enjoyed our stay and look forward to our next Motel One visit. :-)

Great location, hotel was clean and fresh and the decor in reception and bar area was very cool. It was a short stay but a great one.
A fantastic two night stay in Munich the hotel was 500 yards from the train/underground station so an ideal location to explore the city and the staff were very welcoming and helpful.

Het designhotel München-Hauptbahnhof in het centrum van de stad
Welkom in München, de hoofdstad van Beieren en misschien wel de mooiste stad van de deelstaat. Bijna nergens zit je zo centraal als in ons nieuwe hotel in de stad, Motel One München-Hauptbahnhof. En zoals de naam al zegt, ligt het vlakbij het station. Vanaf hier is het slechts een korte wandeling naar de Karlsplatz, ook bekend als Stachus, als het begin van het voetgangersgebied, alsmede naar de Marienplatz, de Theatinerstraße of de Odeonsplatz.
Voor het Oktoberfest in München? Dan kun je het beste meteen in ons hotel bij het centraal station je overnachting voor het Oktoberfest boeken, want het Oktoberfest-terrein op de Theresienwiese is ook te voet bereikbaar. Voor alles wat je te voet wilt verkennen maar niet meer in het centrum ligt, kun je de bus, tram, metro of S-Bahn direct bij het hotel gebruiken. De ligging is niet alleen ideaal voor een citytrip, maar ook voor de heenreis. Vanaf de luchthaven van München is het minder dan 45 minuten met de S-Bahn en de heenreis met de ICE of regionale trein is ook supereenvoudig.
Maar niet alleen toeristen en concertgangers profiteren van de centrale ligging, ook zakenreizigers waarderen de voordelen van het voordelige designhotel bij het centraal station. Dankzij de uitstekende vervoersverbindingen zijn vergader- en kantoorlocaties gemakkelijk bereikbaar. Doordacht design in het Hotel München-Hauptbahnhof: Van koning Lodewijk II tot de moderne tijd
Nu we het er toch hebben: groen speelt ook in het design van dit hotel een grote rol. Verwijzingen naar de sprookjesachtige wintertuin van koning Lodewijk II en creatieve pop-up tuinen van de stad München zorgen voor een unieke sfeer in het hotel.
Voor de achtergrond hiervan duiken we even in de geschiedenis van de stad. De geschiedenis laat zien dat koning Lodewijk II vanaf 1867 een privé-serre liet aanleggen op zijn residentie, die een soort tropisch paradijs moest voorstellen. Naast talrijke plantensoorten was er ook een kunstmatig aangelegd meer met zwanen op het grote complex te vinden.
En deze unieke, magische wereld op het dak van zijn residentie wordt in ons hotel niet alleen weerspiegeld door de vele planten, maar ook door de gebloemde bekleding van de stoelen en fauteuils. De lampen in de lobby zijn met oog voor detail ontworpen en doen denken aan grote bladeren en planten, zodat er een knusse sfeer wordt gecreëerd. Een andere blikvanger in het hotel is de bar. Hier is de interpretatie van een tuinpaviljoen verwerkt en je kunt er ook een portret van koning Lodewijk II vinden.
Dit stijlvol ontworpen hotel biedt een oase van rust te midden van de drukte rond het centraal station van München. Hoewel het hotel midden in de bruisende stad staat, kun je heerlijk ontspannen in de lobby, die ook bedoeld is als pop-up tuin.

En wie na een uitgebreide shoppingtour of een vermoeiende werkdag vol vergaderingen gewoon terug wil naar het hotel, kan nog genieten van een afzakkertje in onze hotelbar.
