My stay in Motel One Hotel was a great experience. The location is excellent and I barely had to use public transportation as the city center is only a few metres away. The room was very tidy, clean and the air conditioner system was great, especially that we stayed during the heatwave. The staff was friendly, very helpful and I did not hesitate to communicate with them as they all speak English. The lime and mint water served in the reception was outstanding, refreshing and tasty. The looby and the outdoor area of the lobby were very cosy, quiet and comfortable. Overall, I will differently recommend this place, and will come back again. I really enjoyed my stay, thank you for making it extraordinary!
rooms are clean, bed + pillows are great and staff is very friendly
The room we had booked, for roughly 190 Euro per night, did not have a functioning air condition. At the current temperatures with over 30 degrees, this was over night unbearable. One of the hotel employees did his best to fix the air condition, but it turned out that he was not successfull
The hotel was about a 10-15 min walk from Aachen station. A bit of construction in the immediate area but still manageable with a large suitcase but allow a bit more time, part of the path has a slight incline near the station. The hotel was located steps away from the city centre and right next to the tourist information centre. Getting around was very easy. Bus stop to Maastricht was on the next block and there was also a farmers market there on selected days. I felt safe around the area, no safety concerns at all. On check in, I got handed one bottle of water - they could have left it in the room so didn't have to carry it up with the luggage. I had booked my room via the official motel one website and was surprised that I was asked to pay city tax in addition to what I had already paid. I remember at the time of booking, city tax was included in the rate, I even wrote it down and also had a screenshot that clearly indicated it was included in the price I had paid. But I was told that city rate was additional on check in. But if it was additional, then why indicate that it was included? I even did a dummy booking on the day through their website just to confirm, and the dummy booking also had the city tax included. When I asked the front desk, they said there was a system update earlier in the year and its now showing that I had to pay the city tax on top as I had booked before the system upgrade. There was no point arguing if the screenshot I had that says "included in the total price" was not being honoured. It wasn't much so I paid. I think they can do better with clarity in the booking to avoid this in the future - if it said included in total price, then I expect it to be. While they assured me I wasn't double charged, I'm still not convinced as bookings directly through their website were all inclusive of city tax and I even had the screenshot to prove that said "included in the total price" - those exact words, but they insisted it was wrong and charged me on top anyway. I would have happily paid if the booking process didn't indicate that city tax was inclusive, but it did. It just doesn't feel very nice being overcharged and left a bit of a bad experience. Though I should point out the staff were nice and polite during this enquiry. The room was small but sufficient. Not much attention to detail with housekeeping, yellowing pillows were exposed as side flap of pillow cases were not tucked in. The tissue box in my room was empty which was another example of the lack of attention to detail. The air con also didn't work. There was an air cond control on the wall but it was just for show as I later found out 😅. I had asked the front desk and they said they were in the process of getting the air cond to switch from hot to cold air, no matter what setting I have on, it won't work. I even tried after the day they made the switch, I don't think it made a difference so I just let it be. It was a bit stuffy but manageable when I was there in May as the weather was still fairly cool. Bathroom was sufficient and functional. Shower pressure was on the low side. No fridge in the room. They do have a storage room for suitcases if you arrive and too early to check in yet. Not all staff understood english well. Some did, but not all, so depending on who was on shift, they may not be able to help with directions or recommendations, but the tourist info center is just a few steps away and they were quite helpful. There were bakeries, beer house, kebab shop, restaurants within walking distance. Supermarket was a bit further away but still within walking distance. Overall, location is great. Room was satisfactory. Was disappointed they didn’t honor the pricing they stipulated during the booking process.
It was very nice to be able to check-in quite late. The fact that there is still someone at the desk is definitely a plus. It was also very convenient that there are chargers available. Since I travel for business it is always a nice extra if there are some amenities in the room like a single use toothbrush, hairwashing net etc. That would be an extra plus.
The room itself was fine but i asked for a quiet room and got one directly at the construction site on the mainstreet. construction work starts real early in the morning. Room change was not possible
Our stay was satisfactory in a calm and clean hotel. Polite and helpful personnel in the reception.
The shower was broken they said maybe we can switch room and no one called us. The air conditioning also not worked it was just hot
The rooms, as expected, are relatively small. The only funny thing I think is about the bottle of water that is given as a gift during check-in. Even if you stay 2 or 1 people in the same room, even if you stay 1 day or more than 1 day, it is only "a" bottle of water. This seemed funny to me. I'd rather expect to receive one bottle each day or so, and which I think is not a big cost from Motel One perspective. Or rather, it should be no water bottle at all as the logic is illogical.
The cleanliness of the hotel and room were excellent. Staff was friendly and accommodating.
Spent 1 day in the hotel, everything from booking to check-in and out worked perfectly well
No blackout blind, so expect to be awakened by the light. Room way too hot and would not cool. 2 single quilts for a queen bed?! I don’t want to have to put my room key in the wall to turn on the electricity.
Aachen Motel One is extraordinary! All the staff was friendly, professional and courteous! They made us feel completely cared for and went above and beyond what we expected! Thank you!
I get weary as a single woman of always being given the least desirable room and then having to beg/negotiate for a better room. This is despite being a club member. The room I finally was able to get was nice despite the neighbor across the street looking directly in at me. I was absolutely visible. The hotel should put on window film to stop the room being so easily visible. Staff were very nice. Room was clean and quiet.
Staff at front desk were highly professional and very helpful.
I liked the hotel but I couldn't make the booking online or via the app because we were travelling with a child. I found this annoying and it would make me think twice about staying at Motel One hotels again because it involves completing an online form and waiting for a reply by email and then in turn replying by email once again to the hotel. It adds extra steps to what should be a very simple and straightforward procedure, as it is in other hotels. When we arrived at the hotel, we were informed that there was no extra bed in the room because we hadn't specifically asked for it despite the fact that we had completed a form indicating that we were traveling with a 9 year old child and replied to the email confirming the reservation again indicating that we were travelling with a 9 year old child. The lady at reception kindly arranged for the extra bed to be set up but it should be obvious that if you reserve for 2 adults and a child that an extra bed will be required unless specifically indicated otherwise. The mini sofa bed in the room was small, really not big enough for a child of over 8 years old. Otherwise, the hotel is nice and the staff were friendly.
A lovely hotel with superb staff and a brilliant location in central Aachen.
Great Design, young cool team, cozy beds, good view to the theatre, wonderful breakfast and chill out lounge! Highly recommended, I will come back soon to this little hidden gem 💎 thank you all!
I had a pleasant stay. The room and bathroom were clean, comfortable, and spacious, and despite being located near the elevator, the room was very quiet, which I appreciated. There are a few areas for improvement. The room amenities are quite limited. Having facilities for tea/coffee and a complimentary bottle of water would enhance the experience. In the bathroom, it would be preferable to have separate products (shampoo, shower gel, conditioner) as well as a body lotion, rather than a combined product. Breakfast was good in quality, but the variety could be expanded. In my experience, a comfortable and quiet stay with room for small improvements.
Central location, in walking distance to train station. Nice room and bathroom, nice bar with long opening time. Missed water on the room (maybe a water dispenser on every floor?). Partially slow/no WIFI. Price relatively high, maybe due to late booking.
All good, but the check-in procedure regarding invoice address and stuff could be a bit smoother at the front desk.
Well designed; good attention to details.
Nice hotel, centrally located, my family's 'base camp' whenever we come to Aachen! Very friendly and helpful staff at reception and bar. Only 2 observations from my side: 1) When being asked for online check-in, credit card details had to be added again - which, in my case, resulted in a second payment (receptionists immediately prepared a credit note upon my arrival); 2) Only hard-boiled eggs for breakfast. But we're going to come back soon!
easy checkin, friendly staff, small but very clean room & washroom, beautiful lounge, great location
Great location, lovely bar area - good for relaxing and chilling out. Friendly staff. Shame about the street noise and smoking smells (from outside) which meant we couldn't keep our window open.
I hope the hotel can address this. We booked a one-night stay for 30 March 2026. The website showed types of double room appropriate for three guests. The website indicated to fill out the contact form to stay with three people in such a room. The website indicated a child's bed could be added to the room. I had an aggravating experience trying to achieve this. You are welcome to read the email thread with your reservation staff. If you have read and understood the content of the email conversation, and spoken with the front desk staff, and you have further questions for me, I am happy to speak with you further. We very much enjoyed our stay. But we did have a second hotel ready at Mercure/Accor, because we were so uncertain we would be able to stay at your property.
Very friendly reception. Breakfast very good. Rooms are very small. Parking garage was full and parking in the sorrounding area is difficult.
A very nice, clean, quiet hotel in the heart of Aachen. Our group of five adults had three rooms, and all rooms were clean & comfortable. All five of us were very satisfied with this hotel and we will definitively stay here when we travel to Aachen again. The staff members are very friendly and helpful. There was a nice breakfast offering that had everything we needed; but there were not enough tables in the breakfast room so we had to sit in the lobby area (just like many others at the 8 am rush hour – which did not bother us).
Very clean hotel, nice lobby, very modern rooms. Quiet as well and very centrally located in Aachen. I had to wait a little bit to get my hotel key but all other services were speedy. Great gin collection as well.
Great hotel and friendly and competent staff. The location was amazing. The breakfast was delicious.
Room small, basic, no tea coffee or water. Looked in need of refurbishment . Reception area generally nice. Some very low couches, some looked worn. Asked for water at the bar, offered a 6 euro bottle......no tap water offered.
Pleasant, quiet and very friendly personnel.
I am a regular guest in your hotel and I always enjoy staying here, the rooms are perfect, clean and welcoming, you can sleep well because its not noisy, I am not using the breakfast option as I can not eat very much in the morning.... What I noticed particular when I stayed this time, that the check in at the reception took for my feeling too long as a response to it the receptionist told me that the internet is very slow which I can understood. When telling her that the invoice address is my company one she could not find the company address in the system even so I gave her the address written on a paper and I am staying regularly since 2 years in your hotel. In addition she responded in a not very friendly way which also my colleague notice who check in besides me. I did not want to spend more time waiting.... as I had to go to work therefore I have up and told her she should look for it taking time and I come back later. I came the next day and a different receptionist found also had to look up the company address but she did it in a very friendly way and I receive my invoice by Email which made me happy.
Perfect location in Aachen to visit old town.
Alles top! 🥰
Everything Ok, but I have some comments on cleanliness. 1. The pillowcase was too small, so the pillow itself was visible. Unfortunately, the pillow became discolored and stained, so I no longer wanted to use it. 2. There were some areas that hadn't been cleaned thoroughly. There was noticeable dust on the safe next to the bed and inside the hair dryer rack. I was also concerned about the hair on the bathroom wall, which I couldn't identify.
Very friendly staff and really appreciated the clean and non-smoking environment. We were given a very quiet room as requested. The Foyer/Lounge idea is really great. Unbeatable location in the center of Aachen.
Good price quality
When I ask question at reception, the answer from the lady was always google, check google, she had bad altitude, she is rude, my first time in aachen 🇩🇪,if I new she was like that I won't book it , I'm very disapointing on her.
A lovely hotel. Very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Excellent breakfast with lots of fairtrade/bio and vegetarian/vegan products. Lovely bar area and friendly staff throughout the hotel. Good value for money. The only drawback is the lack of tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms.
Great stay,,helpfull staff,comfort and cleanliness
Perfect location, clean and modern. A very welcoming lobby that was always hopping with activity! We would have liked a hot pot for tea and coffee in the room.
Todo muy bien. Hermoso lugar.
Switch on. beOne.
