Great location!
We hadden een rustig gelegen kamer aan de achterkant. Ontbijt was prima.Centraal gelegen in Linz aan Hauptplatz.

We had a wonderful stay in probably one of the most beautiful rooms with an exceptional view of the Hauptplatz. Location was perfect, direct in city center. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great secure garage to stall our bikes over night. For us nothing to improve.

Our stay at Motel One Linz was excellent. The hotel reception, lobby, hallways & our room were extremely clean and well presented. Staff were so helpful and sincere. I would highly recommend a stay at Motel One Linz

Very central and easy to reach by public transport. The rooms are rather basic and rather small compared to some other Motel Ones. Clean and fine breakfast a usual in Motel One. Very friendly front desk service. Compared to other Motel One locations is this one rather compact because its location and the architecture of the site. However they did everything to make it look as a Motel One. It's not my favorite one but will stay loyal to Motel One even in Linz.
the AC did not work, it only switched on in the morning when I left the room. I had an "internal" room which has a window to an internal court. The air was stuffy during the whole night. Room 222

Great stay with delicious breakfast and comfy beds:) All staff were so nice and friendly. The atmosphere of the place was so nice, close to many places you may want to see by walking. I stayed with my 7-year-old daughter without any difficulty.We left quite thankfully.

nice experience. Room could've been cleaner -- there was age old dirt and a fly graveyard in between the windows (double window style) Please find a solution to add shower doors. Splashing water out of the shower / cramping in the corner for a shower is very unsatisfactory.
The mini safe is a very good equipment. Usually, I miss a small fridge from hotels. The room on ZG was the best room of all the MotelOne's I've gotten.

No phone in the room, no fridge , no coffee, no water, no tea in the room. Not enough soap and shampoo in the bathroom. No scrambled eggs at breakfast.
Hotel is centrally located and allows to reach all points of interest within walking distance. Room was very spacious and -as usual for MotelOne- very clean. Breakfast buffet has a decent selection of local products. Very friendly staff at both reception and breakfast
Very nice room but would have liked a real closet and some drawer or other storage areas. A small refrigerator would also be nice. Bathroom was very clean and large, but could use few more towel racks. Lobby was great and breakfast very good. Very happy with our stay.

Paper cups in the rooms (no glasses). Didn't even replace the paper cups that were used! No tissues in the rooms, no water. No cabinetry in the room, no safe in the room. Small things, but added up.
Everyone were so helpful, kind and understanding.
Marked down for lack of hanging space for clothes. Bathroom very small also nowhere to put anything.

Everything was excellent, except of the size of the room and the bathroom. It is so small, that I didn't find a place to put my things while I'm taking a shower
The breakfast was mot totally satisfactory because of missing product which nornally should be included in continental breakfast (such as bacon, sausages, etc) Taxi reservation requested trough reception lead to a discussion with taxi driver because of missing written confirmation about agreed tarif.
Good placement of the hotel. The room was not ready despite the fact that I called twice to inform our arrival time and it was confirmed. Stairs on the way of the room- I explained before that is a problem and I would like kindly a room accessible with a lift.

The hotel is ok, but the organization seems understaffed and a bit loose. I chose the hotel because on the site it says there are rental bikes, I even called to check if I had to reserve and heard that there were more than enough. Once I got there, there were no bikes I could take out of town (which I needed). Housekeeping could be a lot better (corridors dirty, my room needed an extra cleaning). That said, the rooms are nicely designed and most personnel is friendly.
We loved this hotel, it was perfect for us with a child. Room was big and clean, and the staff was friendly. The only negativ was the breakfast. Not enough place to sit down and every morning was the same choice.
Fantastic, from the welcome at reception to the smoothing aquarium film on the home screen in the room. Nice relaxed atmosphere, good bed and clean room, all you need is there! Only part missing (and that is very specific to me) - a good Bircher at breakfast.
My issue was breakfast. I waited 15 minutes for bread rolls. I didn't believe the excuse, and the apology didn't seem genuine. We were there at 9 am, which was probably peak time, meaning having a bread roll was the basis of a breakfast!!! Very disappointing.
Great hotel in an excellent location for a super price! We booked last minute and were so pleased we choose this hotel. The staff were all friendly and helpful and spoke good English. The room was spotless, spacious and comfortable. A great shower and a lovely continental breakfast. Would recommend.

Heel fijn hotel met moderne hotelkamers in een authentiek historisch pand. Locatie is perfect gelegen aan de Hauptplatz. Ontbijt was heerlijk, kortom ik kom graag weer eens langs.

Het enige wat ik heb gemist is de mogelijkheid om op de kamer thee te zetten. Verder was het prima.
Een motel One zoals elke motel one. Prima kamer, schoon, netjes. Goed verzorgd ontbijt. De locatie aan de Hauptplatz is ook goed, dicht bij vele tram-lijnen.en ook dicht bij de donau.

Voor een geweldig verblijf!
Wie aan Linz denkt, denkt waarschijnlijk als eerste aan het culinaire boegbeeld van de stad: de Linzer Torte - en vervolgens aan niet veel anders meer. Vergeleken met Wenen, Salzburg en Innsbruck - de drie grootste Oostenrijkse steden, waarvan alle toeristen waarschijnlijk weleens gehoord hebben - is Linz meer een stad die alleen de echte insiders kennen. Bovendien is gebak niet de enige reden waarom een bezoek aan de hoofdstad van Opper-Oostenrijk de moeite waard is. Ook al is deze lekkernij uit Linz terecht een beroemdheid op zich. Want die dateert uit de 17e eeuw, waardoor het het oudst bekende taartrecept ter wereld is.
Wat valt er naast deze zoetigheid tijdens een stadswandeling of na een zakelijke bijeenkomst nog meer te ontdekken? Ons Motel One bijvoorbeeld, wat - als we onszelf eens een keertje mogen prijzen - altijd een bezoek waard is. Onze hotels in Linz bieden je meer dan een overnachting alleen. De voorheen ruige, staalstad maakt met zijn eigen nuchtere charme indruk: de stad combineert industrie met cultuur, hip met voordelige prijzen, academici met mensen die er vanouds woonachtig zijn. Een harmonieuze combinatie die steeds meer internationale bezoekers en inwoners van de Oostenrijkse stad op waarde weten te schatten.
Het centrale plein in barokstijl met de 20 meter hoge Dreifaltigkeitssäule die in 1723 voor dank en bescherming tegen rampen werd gebouwd, vormt het hart van de stad. Het voormalige marktplein wordt omringd door imposante gebouwen met pittoreske gevels. Hier staat het oude stadhuis - waarin overigens ook de VVV te vinden is - en het Feichtingerhuis met zijn enorme klokken, die kort na 11 uur, 14 uur en 17 uur luiden. Luister goed: de melodieën veranderen afhankelijk van het seizoen!
De Landstraße, een van de drukste winkelstraten van Oostenrijk, begint vanaf het centrale plein. Perfect om door de winkelstraatjes langs de etalages te slenteren! Vergeet niet ook de kleine steegjes in te gaan met zijn talrijke winkels, cafés en restaurants. Daar valt voor iedereen wel iets te ontdekken. Dichtbij de Landstraße ligt de Domplatz met de Mariä-Empfängnis-kathedraal. Wat er naast het hooggotische gebouw interessant is: hier vinden elke zomer de ‘Klassik am Dom’-concerten plaats. Slechts een van de vele culturele hoogtepunten en evenementen die de stad te bieden heeft.
Kunst, cultuur en curiositeiten
Direct aan de Donau - de levensader van de stad - ligt het Lentos kunstmuseum, dat een grote collectie moderne en hedendaagse kunst herbergt. De glazen gevel ziet eruit als een buitensporig grote fotolijst, die het uitzicht op de wijk Urfahr aan de overkant van de rivier onthult. Het Ars Electronica Center is direct vanaf hier te bereiken via de Nibelungen-brug. Dankzij zijn futuristische architectuur kun je er niet omheen. Dit ‘museum van de toekomst’ organiseert tentoonstellingen over de onderwerpen van morgen op het gebied van kunst, technologie en maatschappij.
Voor wie liever naar het verleden terugblikt, is een bezoekje aan het kasteelmuseum de moeite waard. In de voormalige keizerlijke residentie wordt tegenwoordig de natuur-, cultuur- en kunstgeschiedenis van Opper-Oostenrijk vanaf het begin af aan tot en met de 21e eeuw tentoongesteld. Wie meer van gekkigheid houdt, kan het tandmuseum en het cowboymuseum bezoeken. Of je kunt een heel speciale openluchtgalerij bezoeken om alternatieve kunst te zien: in de commerciële haven, de ‘Mural Harbour’, zijn op oude industriële gebouwen en muren meer dan 100 graffiti- en straatkunstwerken van kunstenaars uit ongeveer 25 landen te bewonderen. Dit kan zowel door een rondwandeling te maken of vanaf het water per boottocht.
In en rond Linz
Aan de noordoever van de Donau ligt de huisberg van Linz, de Pöstlingberg. Je kunt deze 539 meter hoge berg te voet beklimmen of de top comfortabel met de Pöstlingbergbahn bereiken. Vanaf de populaire bestemming heb je niet alleen het beste uitzicht op de stad Linz en haar omgeving. Het combineert ook verschillende bezienswaardigheden in één: hier vind je de dierentuin van Linz, die je dichter bij de inheemse en exotische dierenwereld brengt. Vooral kleine bezoekers kunnen zich verheugen op de Grottenbahn, die kinderen meeneemt naar een fantastisch sprookjes- en dwergenkoninkrijk. Een historisch bewezen amusementsrit, want deze attractie is al meer dan 100 jaar oud. Halverwege is ook de Anton Bruckner-universiteit voor muziek, drama en dans te vinden - genoemd naar de grote componist die in Linz als kathedraal- en stadsparochie-organist werkte. Binnenin kun je geweldige concerten en optredens bijwonen, maar ook van buiten is het met lamellen beklede gebouw een blikvanger. Eenmaal aangekomen op de top ben je al in de buurt van een ander belangrijk monument van Linz: de bedevaartbasiliek ‘Sieben Schmerzen Mariä’. De kerk met twee torens, die een zachtroze en witte kleur heeft, werd in 1748 voltooid en kan vanaf het uitzichtsplateau binnen een paar minuten bereikt worden.
Over het algemeen is Linz een perfecte uitvalsbasis voor wie graag tijd doorbrengt in de natuur. Het bergachtige Mühlviertel of het Salzkammergut met zijn talrijke meren liggen op slechts een steenworp afstand en zijn ook gemakkelijk met het openbaar vervoer te bereiken. Als je niet al te veel moeite wilt doen om de natuur op te zoeken, zijn er ook kleinere en grotere natuuroases in de stad zelf te vinden: verschillende zwemmeren en parken, zoals de Pleschinger See, het Wasserwald, het Hummelhofwald of het land langs de Donau nodigen je uit om te ontspannen zonder dit vooraf te hoeven plannen. We hebben het je toch gezegd: Linz is de moeite waard!
