Hi this was our second visit to the hotel. Fantastic location the staff are lovey and very helpful. Also enjoyed sitting in the bar area. Our view from our room was amazing. We are looking forward to booking again in the very near future. Many thanks.
Having always stayed at Motel One whenever we are in Glasgow it was nice to be back.As a member I was a bit disapointed that we had to pay two (2) different prices for the two nights we stayed when nothing changed regarding the room or booking
I have stayed in this hotel a few times. On this stay the room was far too hot overnight. When I mentioned this to the front desk staff I was given an unrealistic explanation. I suspect the air on system was either faulty or the cooling was turned off as a cost saving exercise.
A stone’s throw from Glasgow Central station, this hotel is great value for money as well as being a bit funkier than some of its rivals
Overall the hotel, staff were great would highly recommend this hotel to family and friends.
Very clean & comfortable
Good location near the station, clean room, quiet for a city centre location, pleasant staff.
I have stayed at Motel One Glasgow on many occasions, historically it has been a seamless and pleasant experience. My recent experience unfortunately did not mirror previous visits, specifically, there was an element of confusion at reception regarding the collection of my temporary stored baggage, i.e. whilst waiting at the end of the reception desk for my baggage I was informed by one of the receptionists quiet abruptly that I should "get in line", I informed the receptionist that I had already checked in and had been patiently waiting my turn for baggage collection. This was a minor issue but could have become inflammatory as we were tired from travelling and had been effectively killing time waiting to check in. - A secondary issue that is no fault of Motel One was the noise from a venue in Hope Street, we were on the 7th floor but even at that elevation were still subjected to an element of noise pollution, historically routine background noise from Hope Street was never been an issue, my thoughts are the the city council take action in this regard.
The rooms are lovely and have everything you need. The staff are always friendly and very helpful. Great central location.
I was quite disappointed with my experience at Motel One Glasgow, especially as I have previously stayed at other Motel One Group hotels and had a fantastic experience. This was therefore a big let-down for our first stay at the Glasgow location. The hotel was in a great location and the room was comfortable. However, unfortunately, the staff were not particularly welcoming, attentive or friendly during my stay, which did affect the overall experience. The customer service at reception was particularly disappointing. I had already completed the online check-in process before arriving, so I expected the arrival process to be fairly straightforward. However, check-in was quite slow and, despite there initially being no queue, more guests continued to arrive while we were waiting. When a queue formed, guests began queuing on the other side of reception from us. There was no clear indication of where the queue was supposed to start, even though we had been waiting first. When we were eventually served, the receptionist made us feel as though we had pushed in front of other guests, which was frustrating and uncomfortable when we had actually been waiting before the queue had formed. I even offered to go to the back of the queue to avoid making a scene, but was then told that she would check us in. This made the situation feel even more unnecessary, as we were simply waiting to be served. Overall, I found the reception staff to be quite unfriendly and lacking in customer service skills, which made what should have been a straightforward check-in unnecessarily uncomfortable, inefficient, and unorganised. The experience was particularly disappointing and felt quite awkward, as we were made to feel as though we had done something wrong when we were simply waiting patiently to be checked in after a day of travelling This was particularly disappointing given how positive my previous experiences with the Motel One Group had been.
Very good quality accommodation with pleasant and helpful staff. Online check-in before visit was not worth it. I had to enter my wife’s passport number and credit card details even though I had already paid for the room. When checking in manually on our second visit, no passport details were required, nor credit card details! Also, after checking in online on the first visit there was nowhere to pick up a key to the room, I had to queue to see someone at the reception desk. The information associated with online check-in said the key would be available to be collected from a separate location. Breakfast was good but no marmalade was available on either occasion- only a minor issue, but surprising as Scotland is the home of Dundee Marmalde!
Always a good stay, Lovley staff
Had 2 nights in Glasgow, fabulous service
Inadequate extraction in shower area. No cooked breakfast on offer, otherwise a pleasant stay.
It’s right in the heart of Glasgow, very close to both major train stations. I love it . My go to place when I’m in Glasgow.,
I found this hotel online, not always the best place to find accommodation, but I struck absolute gold with this one. The location couldn't have been better, especially for someone arriving by train from Paisley. The side door of Glasgow Central literally leads you to a short walk across Argyle Street to the front door of the Motel One. Great reception team, always friendly and helpful, the room was not huge but perfectly adequate and kept beautifully clean every day by Iryna. Nice touches for Be One members included a large bottle of still or sparkling water on arrival and a large bowl of free sweets on the front desk. My tenth floor room was totally quiet when the windows were closed and the bed so comfortable that I actually slept better than I do at home. My one small criticism is the recycled plastic beakers for hot drinks in the room. Trying to hold a hot drink in a container without a handle is not for me. At £13.50 for what looked like a pretty average breakfast in a far-too-small space was not for me, so the Cafe Sono beneath the railway bridge from Central Station won my custom to start the day with their excellent freshly-cooked breakfast. I paid £480 for 5 nights, which I thought good for a city centre venue, especially one as good as this. August 2026 update I stayed here on my last visit to Glasgow and rated it so highly, I booked a whole week for this trip. I was a bit surprised that, as a BeOne member, I only got one free bottle of water, which I would have got for staying for just one night. Small point, but something they might like to look at. I'd only just arrived after a long rail, air and bus journey and was having a shower when the fire alarm went off. It transpired that it was caused by the ultra sensitive sensor in somebody's shower! I like the fact that Motel One is right beside the Hope Street entrance to Glasgow Central Station. (It's address is actually Intercity House, which shows the building's heritage). As I spend my time in Scotland using trains, it could not be more convenient. The rooms are spacious, the beds extremely comfortable and the showers really powerful. My only quibble is that you hear , via the pipes, a lot of water being used in other rooms! Staff are pretty responsive to requests, although when housekeeping didn't replace my drinking cups, there was no answer to the phone when I called the reception twice between 5 and 6am. I understand why, in Central Glasgow, they have a burly bouncer on the door at night, but was not impressed to be told by an Eastern European receptionist that the need to use my room card to open the front door while balancing shopping in one hand and coffee in the other at 7am was 'for my own safety' was, quite frankly, poppycock. The streets are virtually deserted by then! I don't like the breakfast area at the hotel at all. I tried it once and found it too busy and quite claustrophobic. A nearby co-op provided just what I needed saving me more than £100 over the week. Very happy with my stay and I will be back. Postscript: Every evening, I brought the rubbish bin from my bathroom to my desk. Every time I got back to my room it was back under the sink. Clearly, that is where it lives! And no cups happened twice: luckily, like a good Boy Scout, I always come prepared when I travel with cutlery plus a plastic bowl and plate!
Great location. Quiet and comfortable bedrooms
I love Motel One - have been a member for several years now and stayed in properties in Glasgow, London, and all over Germany. I'll be back to the Glasgow location as I have family in the city - looking forward to it!
Very friendly reception staff as I checked in Room was clean and bright on the 11th - better than when I stayed lower down. Quiet Only issue was it was hot! Did open the window but then disturbed by trains
I’ve stayed at the hotel in Glasgow pretty much every week for almost 2 years - the staff turnover recently has been been very high - I had a full knee replacement a few months ago and you normally put me in an assistance room as it’s easier for me / refused this week - not the room type I booked No loyalty and no real customer care
Great location next to Central Railway Station. Easy access to city centre.
Consistently good
Convenient location and good hotel. Bar area is lovely
Great motel (hotel?) right in a centre of Glasgow. Unbeatable price and could bring a dog for £15 fee.
Loved the room, seriously comfy bed. Abrupt staff in the bar, bordering on rude, which is not what we usually get from Motel One.
The room, location and staff were great.
Everything was fine. I appreciated the clean room even if small, helpful staff, and nice shower head. I just want to comment that I booked a city view, it was a decision making point for me. There was a photograph online and I was looking forward to looking out across the city of Glasgow. However my view was entirely blocked by the office building next door. I wouldn't have a problem with that if I didn't book a city view and then confirmed at the desk that I was being given a city view. I would recommend taking room 808 off the list of rooms with a "city view" I would have rather paid less and not gotten a city view at that point.
Was great, however ,I enjoy a cooked breakfast as well ,maybe something to think about on the future .It would also given yhat the t.v 's are smart that access to netflix, prime, would be good. Would not cost hotel anything as everyone has own accounts for these apps Remote controls also need replaced ,with so much use buttons do not work well require real effort .
Polite staff at reception. I was given a room upgrade which was appreciated. Good nights sleep. Good shower
The front desk staff were courteous and helpful. Name tags should be worn. 2 faults I would give the room …. It was very small. No room to get around the bed; it was claustrophobic. When I examined the sheets, below the mattress pad were long black hairs at both the top and bottom of the mattress. That was off putting.
Very friendly welcome. Lovely roomon 10th floor. Nice breakfast. Unique atmosphere. I love the sheep.
Strategic location
A returning guest for I think the 5th time, says it all really!
All good apart from struggle to get into the room with the card. Until a passer by guest came along! More info guidance needed.
Nice staff, easy to find, very good position (close to the Central station).
Stayed 1 night . Didn't have any food or breakfast. TV was broken and couldn't be replaced. The bed was a double bed which was 2 single beds put together so the centre of the bed was too uncomfortable to sleep on .
It was a nice entrance lobby and bar area. The actual Check-in felt a bit confusing, with a form to fill in, and the person on the desk speaking so fast so I was feeling a bit stressed with that. Room qas lovely, except for the stsange painting/picture above the bed of the girl on the train, hiding her face behind wheatgrass. It was a bit creepy to be honest, not an art piece we would choose for a bedroom. Other than that, everything else was fine.
Staff friendly, room spotless and a relaxing bar
Motel One provides everything you need to make your stay so very enjoyable. I would highly recommend this wonderful homely hotel.
I had a very pleasant two-night stay. The room was clean, modern and comfortable. The room was compact, but for a short city break it was perfectly adequate and well designed. The location is excellent, right beside Central Station and within easy walking distance of the city centre, shops, restaurants and attractions. It made getting around incredibly convenient, especially with the station so close by. Overall, a comfortable, clean and well-located hotel, with friendly service and everything I needed for a two-night stay. I'd happily stay again.
Quick check in. clean, functional room yet very small for 2 adults. Hotel is very good decorative order / shape.
At 1.15am someone unlocked our door and switched on the light. We awoke and sat up as the light went on and a small dark haired woman said sorry and left. The door had been shut and latched so we do not understand how anyone could have unlocked it unless they had a master key. We spoke to a Receptionist the next morning. She was understanding and apologetic.
We always stay at Motel One in Glasgow. Upon arrival, Megan noticed that I need a walking stick, and immediately gave us an accessible room. The room was really big, and, very easy for me to move around. Megan is a star and a really valuable asset to your team
Very helpful staff
Air conditioning didn't work in our room. So it was too hot on the night of the 28th. My friends on floor 9 worked fine in fact if anything it was too cold initially and he needed to turn the fans down. Rubbish nights sleep. Phoned reception at 03:30 he said he's bring a fan up and he didn't!
Another lovely stay for a concert. My only complaint was near our room ( 428) there seemed to a ? water pipe that made a constant noise ,so my sleep was disturbed.
Happy vibe. Clean and organized. Quiet room. Slept well! Great location.
Service was excellent and room clean, comfy
One of the cleanest room and bathroom I have ever stayed in. Room was on the smaller side, but had everything I needed, even a kettle with tea and coffee.
A mini fridge would have been welcome. The room key was rather a hassle, had to try multiple times
Switch on. beOne.
