Budget Design Hotels in Leipzig – your Motel One

All our hotels in Leipzig are in the centre of the city and within walking distance of the central station. Start your day with a healthy breakfast in the heart of the city before setting out to explore the magnificent buildings and sights.

The Old Town Hall, once the feudal supreme court, has been housing the Leipzig Museum of City History since 1909. More than 500,000 artefacts contained in 72 special collections will take you on an exciting journey through the history of Leipzig. You can't miss the impressive, 115-metre town hall tower on the main square (Marktplatz). Rising above the left side of the building, it embodies the architectural spirit of the Renaissance as the highest tower of its kind in Germany. Impressive, no?

Lovers of classical opera will feel right at home at the opera house, located in the immediate vicinity of our affordable hotel at Augustusplatz. The building looks back on more than 300 years of history. We also recommend taking a walk at the nearby “Schwanenteichanlage” park (literally: swans’ pond grounds).

From there, take public transport to the Monument to the Battle of the Nations. It is one of the most important symbols of the city, erected to commemorate the 1813 Battle of Leipzig. The viewing platform at its top offers an excellent view of the city. No less fascinating is the inside of the monument, where stone statues of warriors represent the historic events. Immerse yourself in the history of Leipzig and find out how many warriors guard the crypt.

Once you get back to the city centre, consider paying a visit to the Old Exchange at Naschmarkt. Built as a representative meeting point for seventeenth-century merchants, the building is famous for its early baroque style. Today, it hosts literary and musical events, specialist lectures and conferences.

Of course, there is a whole range of other sights within easy reach of our affordable design hotels. They include the Moritzbastei, Mädlerpassage, Katharinenstraße, Gewandhaus, Bach museum and Egyptian Museum.
