I booked this hotel about 2 months prior to my visit. I contacted the hotel through booking.com stating it was for my partners birthday and if the hotel could put a balloon or something in the room to mark the occasion. They said no problem and that house keeping would put petals and swans on the bed. I was so excited to see this when I arrived and told my partner about the surprise. When I arrived, the room was empty. This came as a big disappointment for me as the hotel told me they could do it. I wrote to them again via booking.com about it and still haven't gotten a reply so this was a bad place to start our stay. The room itself was nice. Just very small. No fridge in the room and bin only in the bathroom. Other than that, it was nice. I was also disappointed with the fact that on booking.com it says 'Breakfast included'. It was only when we arrived that I saw the breakfast options and then re read the small print on the booking which says continental breakfast. Should be made more clear in my opinion.
The desk clerk was very efficient. The room was excellent. The continental breakfast was a bit odd. Some guests require the protein provided by dairy, sausage/ham and eggs, as well as whole grain breads. Fruit, while tasty, is also high in fructose sugars. A little dab will do. Non-milk and or coffee beverages were in short supply or exhausted by 8:45 am. This could be improved.
Good value hotel in the heart of Dublin. Room was lovely and clean, bed could have been more comfortable, it had a dent in the mattress from previous occupants. Breakfast was nice but a bit cramped around the serving areas.
Staff were brilliant, cleanliness was good! On top of that location was perfect. Would stay again
The price quoted for a night was €154. I stayed for 4 nights and the price increased dramatically each night which was certainly not expected. I booked via my company but the receptionist insisted I booked via Booking.com and the price increase is to be expected. Breakfast was very poor. No hot food at all. No daily house cleaning. Even when I asked for my room cleaned after night 3, it was not done. Lifts very slow one out of service. Unable to exit at ground level using the stairs. Difficult to find.
Good location, excellent staff( Jayden was fabulous- very helpful and lovely rooms. Would have been 10 should they have offered full Irish breakfast and complimentary water in room.
Overall very good experience. Breakfast was a bit limited, and the 1am fire alarm on my first night was unfortunate.
Absolutely blown away by your hotel. The location the facilities everything can’t wait to rebook very soon. The most comfortable bed I have slept in. Breakfast was grand only thing but if ur not too fussy will get something.
Great place. We stayed there twice in our trip.
Nice, clean, centrally located hotel.
Fantastic location, very clean, friendly.
Super!
Excellent location - the best actually! Price vs value very good. Lovely room and bathroom... comfortable bed and atmosphere. Super clean and wonderful housekeeping services. Breakfast was basic but very good - excellent for European guests... but I don't think you have enough variety for a US or Canadian guest. Staff at desk were a bit reserved... not overly friendly... but very professional with any questions we had... but not really above and beyond feeling. :(
Clean and accommodating . Ask for top sheets on your bed if you use them
Excellent location, wonderful modern hotel, friendly and helpful stuff !!!
Excellent service from front staff and great location. Would stay again
Always a good experience at Motel One. This time we booked the slightly larger room, because the standard room is very small for two people over more than one night. The one critique of the room I have is the design of the shower: water splashes out while showering and wets the floor.
Great location. Well-designed room.
Smooth check-in by super friendly staff, convenient location, clean room.
Property is nice but staff are not friendly. Opposite of what is known about the Irish people in general.
Great central location, very helpful staff. Fairly priced. Unfortunately a resident let off the fire alarm in the middle of the night which took at least 30 minutes with all residents on the street to sort out. We had 3 weeks luggage and there was very limited hanging / draw space.
TV Channels not working!!
Very good location, friendly staff, only continental breakfast available, to little breakfast space, but good food quality, good 24/7 bar
Great location Very clean Beautiful bar Lovely rooms
Lovely hotel staff very good and helpful room lovely spotless clean will stay again Location very good near the shopping area
Excellent hotel have stayed many times. Spotlessly clean. Staff are lovely. Very central to all amenities.
We loved the hotel, but the fire alarm incident was not handled well. Only one staff member and no information at all given outside? Next morning there should at least be a note with some words from the staff to the guests. Otherwise satisfied with everything😊👍
Check in was a little disappointing, asked to move to a higher floor than the 1st and was told yes we could only for another staff member to shout over our check in person and say no. Explanation given was just that the hotel was fully booked and while the rooms were the same as what we booked we would not be allowed to move. The upsell for the €16 breakfast was aggressive and relentless throughout check in too. Most staff where friendly and accommodating but initial encounter with the rude second check in member left the bigger impression. We also experienced a fire alarm at 1am and while the one staff member that was on site did the best they could it was clear that they were lacking in leadership or support.
A good hotel, undone by the inadequate management of a fire alarm situation at !:30am. Staff were unprepared, inadequately trained and did not communicate with guests, many of whom had to wait in the street for more than half an hour before filtering back in when fire engines left.
+ Friendly and knowledgeable Dublin staff (Kelyane) as per previous experience in Frankfurt and London. - NO USB A PORTS AT POWER SOCKETS, other hotels and your competitors do provide these as standard in rooms (Had to go out and buy yet another adapter!) - TV restarted every 30 or so minutes, very annoying! - Little communication on status during the Fire alarm when we all stood outside at 2am and waited for either updates or information! - Much higher accommodation price in comparison to other Dublin hotels used during same trip!
There was a fire alarm at 01:30. We followed the signs ‘stairs’ but there were signs missing so we couldn’t find the stairs. We had to go back to the elevator area toonloos at the VERY SMALL picture of the escape routes. When arriving at groundfloor there was NOBODY FROM THE EMPLOYEES guiding the guests. There were two employees who had NO GLUE AT ALL what to do. They were walking around like chickens without a head and wondering how to shut down the alarm. In meanwhile the firefighters arrived after 25 minutes. Likely there was no fire but if there was, we would have been in BIG TROUBLE and I wouldn’t be surprised to see injured people or even worse!! THIS WAS A VERY FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCE!!!!
Great hotel except when the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night. Staff couldn't get it turned off and finally the fire department came.
Counter staff when checking in wasn't that friendly bar staff was friendly... rooms small then fire alarm goes off at 2am whole hotel out on the streets for an hour then back to rooms after 3 couldn't sleep for few hours later. Nothing said next morning from staff after checkout .
Rooms are small
Overall very good experience l, but given the price I was expecting a bit more attentions
This hotel is in a perfect location for getting around the city center. We were able to walk to almost every attraction we needed within 15 minutes. Check in was a breeze - we walked right up to the front desk and were immediately given a room hours prior to check-in so that was great! We had a room on the 5th floor all the way at the back of the hotel with a view of a brick wall. The windows in Europe open oddly but we were able to get some breeze. Our thermostat didn't work so sometimes it was uncomfortably hot and others it was uncomfortably cold. The rooms are very very small for US standards but pretty average for European standards. We had a flatscreen TV that didn't work, but thankfully we brought our Firestick. The bed was fairly comfortable and the pillows actually had some substance to them so we slept fairly well. The bathroom was a decent size, though it's a bit gratuitous calling the shower a rainfall shower. The water got to just above luke-warm so showers were not all that comfortable. They provide you with a combination shampoo body wash so make sure to bring your own toiletries. There is also hand soap, but no conditioner or lotion. We did not purchase breakfast at the hotel so I can't attest to that. I did appreciate the evening security where you can't enter the hotel without your keycard after 10pm. I would probably not stay here again as the price is comparable to better hotels in the area, but this was great for booking literally 20 minutes before arrival.
Excellent hotel! Very central, super clean and lovely staff. Will stay again 👌
Great location, clean rooms, helpful team
We had a lovely stay at this hotel, the staff were friendly and helpful, the lobby and bar area looked lovely and modern. Beds were comfy and our room was generally clean and modern, only downside our shower was very weak and the towels in the bathroom could do with replacing as were very rough. The location of this hotel is perfect and close to everything you need.
Location, location, location. Convenient and walking distance to everything. If you hate walking public transportation is super accessible.
Location staff rooms all excellent
very friendly crew, great room and delicious breakfast
Clean rooms and accomodating crew specially Stacy.
Good location. Friendly staff. Small clean room. Cheap all-in-one shower liquid that dries the skin. Not a nice view from the window. TV and WiFi didn’t work. This was our second time at this hotel (twice in one year) and it cost more this time and the experience wasn’t as good.
The room was modern and comfortable, if small. The main issue we had was the way the climate control worked (or didn't work) in the room. It was very difficult to get the room to a comfortable temperature for sleeping. If you are going to offer guests in room climate control, guests should truly be able to control the temperature without preset limits and automatic switch off. Beyond this, there were certainly issues with airflow in the room, as the air blowing out of the vent was cool, but the room never cooled off.
Very nice and central location. The rooms could be a little bigger
Lovely clean hotel with a great location and comfy beds and friendly staff.
Satisfactory stay . 2nd time . Only issue would be the TV in the rooms. No smart tv and tv stations available were cutting in and out . Only 5 English channels and the rest in German. Wouldn't recommend it to colleagues due to that fact alone . Otherwise very satisfactory
Excellent hotel with a great location. All staff were friendly and efficient Hotel was clean and the bar area was great. The staff could not have been more helpful.
The hotel was in a fantastic location in Dublin. Our room was clean. However, little details matter. There were no bathroom amenities, no wastebasket under the desk and there was a hair dryer but u couldn't use it in the bathroom because of plug. The most annoying was that the tv turned off every 15 minutes for the whole 4 day stay. Was told at the desk that it was a satellite problem. At the bar not knowledgeable about drinks. Not 4 star environment.
