Room as we expected and staff were helpful
Comfortable rooms, friendly staff, modern design, very good location at the railway station near to the city center
Well-managed hotel. Very happy to accommodate my requests. Clean and tidy. Good decor. Friendly staff.
Have stayed here a few times and is a lovely hotel, one of the bar staff however was rude and did not let us swap our drink when we said we didn’t like it. We were told because the alcohol was used already we would have to pay for new full drinks. Think he was just upset we didn’t like the taste of his drinks so he was very snappy back to us
Great location and very nice staff. Clean room and bed very good.
Comfy bed,spotless room
Really great hotel all round. Stylish and modern deco. Rooms are small but comfortable and bed was a decent size. Staff were really helpful and friendly. Great location with everything you could need nearby from train station to parking (assuming your car meets the LEZ standards), local shops, pubs and more. Would definitely stay again, great value.
The room was very clean, bed was very comfortable and room temperature was perfect, staff were also very friendly.
We stayed one night and had a great stay , room was great location was great and great street view...staff were really on the ball eager to assist with any questions and smashing people ...had breakfast which was different, a European style in the home of fried food was actually ok 😆 my partner always has the fried option and she liked the change, I always avoid the fried option so it was perfect..will stay again definitely
An ideal location & comfortable stay! The bedroom was spacious and I appreciated the option to store my luggage safely after I'd checked out to allow me freedom to explore for the rest of the day. I found the staff to be very friendly.
Lovely rooms, great hotel with really responsive and friendly staff
The staff were very helpful and accommodating, the hotel room was very clean and had a nice comfy bed. However, we stayed for 2 nights and do like a coffee in the morning, and we only had condiments for 1 cup of coffee as the staff don’t service your room daily to preserve water and energy etc, also coming down to reception in the morning the cleaning has not been done early, as we walked back in from having breakfast across the road around 9-9.30am the lobby was in full flow with guests having breakfast and the cleaner decided to come out with the hoover and wash floor etc. even though the hotel itself was lovely I would suggest the lobby and reception area where breakfast starts should be the first place to be cleaned as early as possible so guests don’t have to be around when cleaning is done. When you stay here the hotel does not have parking, however they do do a discount with the NCP car park next door and it is £9 for 24 hrs wich is a great price. However .. what they don’t say is, if you park your car to go in to hotel and leave your belongings etc and decide to go back out, every time you go out or in, you have to pay £9!! So just be sure when you decide to park that you are not moving your car as it ended up costing me £18 per day.
Good rooms, frein5dly service. Great location
O my thing to raise was air conditioning the room was to warm and air con could not be regulated this was mentioned in passing by some of the other guests I met in the lift who had same problem as myself when staying
Had a fantastic 3 nights that stay in Glasgow city centre . This hotel is in a wonderful location. Really handy for trains taxis shopping and restaurants/bars Will certainly stay again
Perfect location, great price and nice and quiet. There was a stag do party of guys at the hotel. I was a bit concerned. We never heard a word. Sensible staff I reckon kept it that way.
Lovely hotel. Only negative was long queue to check in at 3.15pm and still a queue at 4.15pm. Should have been more staff on! Great location and great room.
Always love to stay in a Motel One venue. Especially the Glasgow location. Staff were incredibly friendly upon arrival and made my partner and I feel incredibly welcome.
The rooms are comfortable, but the decor feels a little dated now. The breakfast is very expensive for a continental breakfast and not very good either. There are some fresh pastries which is nice, but there's no facility to heat them up, which is a shame. There's limited selection of cereal, British cold meats (but nothing continental), the fruit is often under-ripe or prepared poorly. Wouldn't bother with it again. There's always a long wait for check-in which is frustrating. When you walk into rooms, the TV automatically comes on with a fishtank or fire effect. I find this irritating as I then have to switch it off and it's a little bit naff. They have just got rid of the daily housekeeping service. They say that it is from an environmental perspective, but I expect everyone actually believes it's a money saving thing - clearly it's going to reduce costs for the hotel significantly. Unfortunately, and perhaps as a consequence, I found that the communal areas were much more dirty than usual. Takeaway boxes left outside rooms for days without being removed by staff and other litter on the floor or in lifts that just wasn't dealt with. Previously, I haven't had this issue. Work pays for me to stay here regularly and if I had more choice over the hotel, I wouldn't pick this one after my recent experiences.
Hotel was nice Bed was soooo comfortable Staff were welcoming Clean rooms Staff were not very friendly in the bar My daughter was staying here the night before her wedding We were going to bed early as we were up early the next day We were going to have a drink before we headed up to our rooms The bar tender wouldn't serve my daughter Said she had enough to drink which wasn't true She was in great form and excited about her wedding the following day Bar tender taught she was drunk 🥴 We were disappointed by the way we were treated But the following night it seems they did the same to other people Refusing to serve them .
We arrived 3 hours early and they allowed us to leave our bags, no questions asked! Excellent, allowed us to get on with our day. Check in is quick, rooms are immaculate, location is excellent. This is the 2nd time we have stayed here and it's our 'go to' for Glasgow now!
Great stay for 1 night friendly staff great spacious room would definitely recommend next to glasgow central so handy for travelling
Lovely hotel, right at the Highlanders Umbrella. Perfectly situated for centre of town...
Comfortable and enjoyable stay. Prompt check in, good room.
Motel One was very nice and the staff were very friendly. The area was very nice with dining options, and I felt comfortable walking around at night. The hotel was easy to locate, and transportation was easy to find. The hotel was very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Overall, I enjoyed my stay to Glasgow, and I would stay here again.
Very comfortable hotel in the city centre. Friendly and efficient staff. Very welcoming.
Nice clean hotel, comfy beds
For the price this was ok. Staff friendly and nice reception area and bar but rooms too cramped for 2 people with suitcases. Bathroom looked stylish but was style over substance as shower only gave out a trickle of water Bed comfy and room clean. Convenient for train station
Only slight downside was the wait times to check in and out,
Stayed for 4 days and whilst the overall facility was fine the bed was too large for the room area, there was no place to open 2 suitcases or even store them. The paper cups were very tacky and the room very small. This made for an uncomfortable stay.
Was pretty good, don’t like having to queue up at reception to inform them that I want the room cleaned! Why don’t you have a card I can hang on the door?
Great location. Hotel lounge very comfortable and room spotless. Reception staff very pleasant and most helpful. Have stayed a few times now and Motel one will continue to be my hotel of choice when visiting Glasgow.
Really lovely staff and reception area and bar was nice. Really close to station and shops etc.
Great 2 night stay Staff friendly, room clean and tidy and breakfast good
Good location and comfortable staying
Lovely staff on check in, very helpful. Hotel is in a great location.
Wonderful stay near the train station. Excellent front desk services.
strict no check in until 1500, resulting in large queues whilst staff idled pre 1500. air con in room did not work, was advised this is centrally controlled dependent on outside temperature & setting it low was pointless. provided with a fan on request, althought this was intrusively noisy & room was still too hot to sleep with this on. bathroom sink did not drain adequately, (approx 10 minutes to clear) room not cleaned during 2 night stay (despite a door tag in room stating "please do not clean" & an opt out of housekeeping advisory in the lift, which would lead you to presume cleaning was the default) litter & food spilled in lift & not cleaned in a timely manner continental breakfast deal, provided for only 1 patron, charge of £13.90 for an additional, limited choice continental breakfast. television reception poor & unwatchable on multiple channels
Lovely hotel, well situated in centre of Glasgow. Welcoming staff on reception and informative. Room was perfect, spotlessly clean beautiful bathrooom. Supplied with kettle and teas & coffees. I opted for breakfast which was cold buffet. Plenty of choices and frequently replenished.
Staff very friendly and welcoming.
Nice hotel central location. Friendly staff.
This is the only hotel I stay in Glasgow city centre as the staff are fantastic and the rooms are excellent
Motel One is a fabulous hotel (in the US, "motel" is generally a lower service facility, but Motel One clearly is not). It was reasonably priced; located 2 minutes from train/subway in central Gasglow & in walkable distance to many of the city's treasures (and I'm a "senior"); well decorated with all needed amenities in a compact form; staff were responsive & friendly; and the continential breakfast was healthy & substantial. It lacks a restaurant other than breakfast & a "grab and go" option would have been helpful, but lots of great food choices of every type & price are just 10 minutes walk. It's not for upscale travelers wanting big footprint, lavish hotels, but it perfectly met our needs.
Lovely hotel with friendly staff. Rooms are small but clean, this stay our room was quite warm and the air con didn't appear to be working so I didn't sleep well at all. Also the tea and coffee in the room wasn't replenished for the next day so that was disappointing. Breakfast was delicious though so that was a bonus.
Great staff, great location for city and my room had an amazing view.
Room (1005) was so hot and due to the location you couldn’t open the window without noise. Maybe there was air conditioning and I was just too thick to figure it out!! When the window was closed the noise was 0 so that was a bonus as right next to train station. Hotel room had everything that we needed and was very modern and clean.
First time staying here & will definitely be back. Prompt friendly checkin, clean, quiet room with everything required, excellent pillows ! 10/10 & lovely fresh breakfast with plenty of choice.
Lovely helpful staff. Lovely clean rooms
Central location and good value for money
Staff all friendly, efficient and very helpful. Room immaculate

Six reasons why you need to visit Glasgow
Evergreen
The name Glasgow comes from Gaelic and means ‘dear green place’ – more than 90 parks and gardens, such as Pollock Country Park and Kelvingrove Park, are open to the public and are perfect for taking a walk or simply relaxing.
Active
There’s something on offer every day of the year here, from festivals to football matches, art-house cinema to comedy clubs. The music scene in particular is second to none, no matter whether you’re into jazz, hip hop, electro or classical. Designated by UNESCO as a City of Music, it’s not for nothing that Glasgow is home to one of the world’s most sold-out concert locations (The OVO Hydro), which hosts a constant stream of superstars. You can also discover up-and-coming musicians in bars such as King Tut’s or Nice ‘n’ Sleazy. And you can find the Scottish Opera, the National Ballet and the National Theatre here – not to mention the World Pipe Band Championships, which involve nothing less than the world championship title for bagpipes!
Wonderful(ly cheap)
The city has more than 20 museums and galleries, as well as numerous other sights, many of which have free admission – such as the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, which contains one of Europe’s largest art collections, the Gallery of Modern Art, Glasgow’s St Mungo’s Cathedral and the Botanic Gardens.
Varied
From climbing in a Gothic church to wakeboarding or winter sports in summer – Glasgow has much more than simply sightseeing to offer. Loch Lomond is also only around 40 minutes out of the city; you can explore the national park on foot, by boat or on horseback. Gourmands can examine the production of Scotland’s national drink by visiting one of the many whisky distilleries, such as the Clydeside Distillery in the middle of the city or the Glengoyne Distillery during a day trip out into the Highlands.
Spruced up
You might see an oversized panda just outside the front door, or an astronaut along the street: Glasgow has transformed into a real mecca for street art. You can discover some of the best artworks by taking a walk along the Mural Trail.
Appetising
Finnieston, in the west of the city, is Glasgow’s designated foodie district. There’s something to suit every taste, from young and cool locations to award-winning gourmet restaurants. By the way, Glasgow is also the UK’s most vegan-friendly city! It’s also got a thriving bar scene: things are no longer simply all about the (still delicious) whisky. Independent breweries have helped to establish craft beers, while juniper fans can look forward to specialised gin bars such as Gin71.

A journey studded with design
We have packed everything we need for the styling concept of our Motel One Glasgow: Get on board and enjoy the ride!
Railway Romance meets design
Situated immediately next to Glasgow Central Station, our affordable design hotel is dedicated to railway romance. The Motel One Glasgow combines the industrial character of train and rail technology with the special sense of adventure that accompanies a journey by train. Be inspired by the detailed artworks by Scottish photography duo Matthew Dalziel and Louise Scullion and take an exciting trip through the history of trains.
Our employees are busy operating the switches behind the reception to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Wireflow lights by Vibia are reminiscent of the shape of tracks and railroad switches. Our One Lounge is also electrifying: the Spectre design suspended luminaires by Quasar create a visual reference to high-voltage power cables, and you can read the timetable for the Central Station on an infoscreen mounted on the stone wall. If you’d like to experience an antique train compartment for yourself, take a seat on the quilted benches.
Shelves and tables transport you to Glasgow’s industrial past with high-quality brass fittings, while Aldo Bernardi wall lamps round off the design concept. The bar takes a more rustic approach: enjoy a view of Dalziel and Scullion’s amazing photography as you sit at the genuine wooden counter and channel the excitement of travelling by train.
Whether you visit us by train, plane or car, you can take advantage of the same comfortable box-spring beds, extensive breakfast buffet and free WiFi in our affordable design hotel that you have come to expect from Motel One. Situated immediately next to Glasgow Central Station, the hotel is not only highly accessible by public transport, it is also the ideal starting point for exploring sights like the Gallery of Modern Art, City Chambers and Glasgow Cathedral. Full steam ahead!
