Smooth check in friendly helpful staff I just wish I took the name of the person who checked me in
staff were fine, but the first night we both woke up drenched in sweat since the heat was on- it was about 24C in the room- no phone to call the desk so I got dressed and went down and spoke with the night manager, Found out that the heating/ cooling control don't do anything- you can't control the heat in the room- it is keyed to the outside temp- so we got about 3 hours sleep that night- I spoke with the manager the next day who basically said nothing she could do- she'd have maintenance check the room which they did and nothing was amiss, they reset the system so it would cool and the next 2 nights were okay, though I had to open the window since it got very stuffy, Then it was noisy with it open. The manager Clare said she might give a discount due to the problems, but never did. She was very business like and not particularly pleasant or accommodating. She obviously does not take well to complaints or criticism. I still would like some refund for that first night as it put a bad start to our Glasgow visit operating on only 3 hours of sleep. That might dissuade me from filing major complaints with media and Motel One headquarters. Also the wifi is open and unsecured- what I would expect from a budget motel, not a pricey 4 star hotel.
The room that was shown on the website was very misleading as when we go into the room it was very small and cramped.
Reception very friendly and informative, Bar staff were amazing on Friday evening cocktails were great and they were very helpful and friendly with great chat.
Very friendly staff, convenient location, great breakfast!
The hotel is centrally based, and rooms clean, staff helpful. But breakfast area is small and not comfortable
Motel One Glasgow never fails to deliver - sparkling clean room, quiet and peaceful despite the city centre location and with their own unique decor. And definitely the best value in town!
Another very pleasant stay (June 2026) at the Motel One Glasgow (Oswald Street). Can't fault the staff, super friendly and helpful. Lovely, modern rooms with very comfortable beds, lush bedding, curtains and towels. The foyer and bar areas are furnished very smartly and stylish. Comfortable and inviting to sit, have a drink and relax. It pays to sign up as a member (free), as the rates are always lower than any other booking platforms (including other agents 'discounted rates!). Plus one free bottle of water too. Whenever I travel to other cities, including abroad (mostly Europe), I'll always consider Motel One. Highly recommend this brand of Hotels. Great concept that works very well.
Stayed for 2 nights, the whole place is perfect, I felt very relaxed and slept well. All staff were friendly welcoming and helpful. This is going to be my place to stay when I visit Glasgow. 😊
Rooms just slightly too small for two people for more than one night.
Very smart hotel with a chic and boutique feel about it. The room was on the small side, the bathroom extremely petite. The most important thing was the bed was very comfortable and the bed linen good quality. Extremely good value for money.
Check-in was efficient and friendly and the hotel had a relaxed vibe at that stage. But, a large tour group monopolised the breakfast buffet before leaving en masse at 8.45am leaving the rest of us feeling underfed and traumatised! Hotel staff advised that it’s best to have breakfast at 6am to avoid tour groups! Perhaps this is an issue for all large hotels in the city centre!
Hotel was clean and tidy. But what made the visit brilliant was the staff, they were super helful and really friendly from the minute we arrived. Only issue for the stay was it took me a couple of minutes to figure out how to use the door card, but that was down to user error. If I am ever in Glasgow again for business I will defitinely be staying at Motel One again.
Great rooms and nice decor but breakfast a bit too busy and chaotic and no cooked breakfast options
Amazing modern stylish hotel in the heart of the city and extremely affordable
I was pleased to find your hotel clean and efficient in all essential respects. My room was comfortable and pleasingly quiet. The staff I met were friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my breakfast too but I initially found the layout of food and crockery etc a bit confusing.
The room was small, Windows were çökse to other buildings
Beautiful hotel and very central for shops and restaurants.
Great check in. Perfect location for train and central Glasgow. Very clean room
Lovely stay at the hotel, it was very clean and daily house keeping was super
Rooms was very basic, expected more from a hotel that was highly ranked, aircon didn't work so had to leave windows open. Breakfast was a joke, had to clear our won table and set it ourselves as the only staff member was trying to do everything. Breakfast turned out to be a poorly stocked continental breakfast, had I known I would of saved the high Breakfast charge and went round to mcdonalds. Positives, the bed was comfy and the hotel seemed very clean and staff were very friendly, location was excellent.
Great accommodation in a great city location. Highly recommended
Beautiful hotel spacious room and very fast elevator. Although hallways are way too hot with heating!!
Fire alarm went off at 11 pm night before we had to get up for flight out in the am. Not good ! Slept bad.
Great hotel in great location
Excellent stay recently after a concert. Check in was very busy but very quick. Room was great, clean and spacious. We used the bar and service was great and prices were good value. Staff we dealt with were great too.
Price hike because of events ongoing, doubled the cost
Disappointed to the the usual price bumped up by over 100% because Take Ghat were in town? Otherwise no probs.
I have stayed here several times now. This room was the smallest we have stayed in. View into someone else’s room. Room was very hot - air con didn’t help. Room was very clean and well presented as always.
All the hotel staff, right throughout the hotel were very efficient at their jobs . The check was quick and straight forward . Validating our car park ticket cut the cost of city parking down which can be an expensive item . The room was big and well laid out with a very comfortable bed . The bar area is well maintained and comfortable . The hotel is within walking distance of bars , restaurant and shops . It is also across the road from Glasgow Central Station
Great location but felt room was overpriced for what was actually on offer.
We had a very brief last minute stay. However I would definitely come back. The staff were all lovely and very helpful
Only criticism is that the shower tray was very creaky and annoying 🤣
Nice hotel great location
£270 for a night in a small basic room with a poor selection continental breakfast eaten in a cramped table so close to other diners I felt like I was taking part in their conversation. Not good value for money at all.
Nice and clean , only problem was bed too hard, 2 pillows , 1 was too hard other one too soft, couldn,t get a decent sleep. Also ordered 2 teas and only had 1 teapot, was offered however a refill in teapot if required.
Rooms and hotel immaculate. Close to central and staff at desk friendly and helpful
Great location. Staff on reception were superb. Free breakfast given for my wait while there was an issue with the cash/system. 12pm check out also perfect. The room was on the small size but fine for my daughter and I. Upon return to the hotel I did wait a while to be served when there was no one at the bar which seemed strange. Plenty of staff floating around but no one made eye/any contact for at least 8mins. They were busy filling the ice, chatting to each other, one was at the coffee machine. Someone should have acknowledged I was there to say they would get to me rather than leaving me standing there like an idiot. As a result a man at the bar starting speaking to me, acknowledging my long wait. I did not want to speak to him so this made the wait seem even longer.
Comfortable, clean room. Friendly staff.
Our hotel is fabulous. We stayed here last year so we thought we would do it again this year and we had a fabulous time. The staff were perfect. The room was perfect so we’ll see you all again next year thank you.
Good location. Comfy bed. All you need. Did online check in and told there would be a BeOne check in lane but there wasn’t. Only 2 staff at reception and at bar leading to long waiting times. Room had some rubbish missed by cleaner
Excellent hotel, with excellent staff, only minor complaint was the breakfast room was very small.
Great check in/out. Friendly staff/good enough breakfast with plenty variety. Could have more grains/nuts etc and the set up on a whole isn’t great when there are many people at breakfast… people get in each others way. Dishes/mugs aren’t clearly displayed, you have to bend down to the back of sleeves to find some. Staff clean tables with dirty rags tucked in back pockets, then after cleaning a table and stacking dirty plates to one side he rearranged the slices of bread with his hands!!! Not very hygienic!! Both days the corridor on the second floor stank of drugs/weed. ! I did feed the smell back to the receptionist.
Great hotel in central location.Friendly staff, comfortable , spotlessly clean room and excellent buffet breakfast .Great value for money
Lovely staff and great room but the breakfast is terrible. Far too little choice, and by 9am there was nothing left. Very disappointed.
MO is a great place to rest.
Very disappointing stay. The overall experience was underwhelming, and the staff came across as passive-aggressive rather than welcoming. The heating in the room didn’t work, cleanliness was below an acceptable standard, and the room had a strong smell of cigarettes and mould. Even the tables in the bar area were sticky and dirty. Unfortunately, this hotel fell far short of expectations, and I would not choose to stay here again. This is the second time I had a very unpleasant stay.
Good location and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Had a quiet room facing the rear and was very happy with that Breakfast was pretty basic but ok. Rooms simple and clean. Shower a bit plasticity and the soap holder broke off. Its fine for a night and I would return ss such
Always stay here when in Glasgow. Staff friendly and efficient. Rooms comfortable and clean and location is perfect.
Friendly welcome and staff, lovely room and bathroom. I particularly liked how quiet my room was. Only minor points were that there was no prosecco available in the bar, and I had to ask at reception for the complimentary bottle of water. It wasn't offered at check in.

A journey studded with design
We have packed everything we need for the styling concept of our Motel One Glasgow: Get on board and enjoy the ride!

Art with heart
The art at the Motel One in Glasgow takes you on a journey through the Scottish Highlands. The photography from artist duo Scullion and Dalziel captures details and impressions of romantic, rugged nature from unusual perspectives.
Hotel Glasgow
Situated immediately next to Glasgow Central Station, our affordable design hotel is dedicated to railway romance. The Motel One Glasgow combines the industrial character of train and rail technology with the special sense of adventure that accompanies a journey by train. Be inspired by the detailed artworks by Scottish photography duo Matthew Dalziel and Louise Scullion and take an exciting trip through the history of trains.
Our employees are busy operating the switches behind the reception to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Wireflow lights by Vibia are reminiscent of the shape of tracks and railroad switches. Our One Lounge is also electrifying: the Spectre design suspended luminaires by Quasar create a visual reference to high-voltage power cables, and you can read the timetable for the Central Station on an infoscreen mounted on the stone wall. If you’d like to experience an antique train compartment for yourself, take a seat on the quilted benches.
Shelves and tables transport you to Glasgow’s industrial past with high-quality brass fittings, while Aldo Bernardi wall lamps round off the design concept. The bar takes a more rustic approach: enjoy a view of Dalziel and Scullion’s amazing photography as you sit at the genuine wooden counter and channel the excitement of travelling by train.
Whether you visit us by train, plane or car, you can take advantage of the same comfortable box-spring beds, extensive breakfast buffet and free WiFi in our affordable design hotel that you have come to expect from Motel One. Situated immediately next to Glasgow Central Station, the hotel is not only highly accessible by public transport, it is also the ideal starting point for exploring sights like the Gallery of Modern Art, City Chambers and Glasgow Cathedral. Full steam ahead!
