Lovely hotel, very clean and nicely set out with friendly, professional staff. The bed was very comfortable and the air con kept the room a decent temperature. It was very hot in the buffet bar at breakfast, but I was there for the hottest two days in a long time, I can't imagine it's usually a problem
Staff, amenities and location particularly good at this hotel. Absolutely nothing to fault.
Comfortable, bare bones hotel. Beds, linens, location good. Rooms small, but adequate. Staff very helpful.
Great hotel, great location, check in bit chaotic sometimes, superior room (6th floor) perfect, have rebooked !!
Moved us to a room with a view without a problem. Very helpful and friendly staff at desk. Amazing breakfast options. Comfortable bed. Would have liked to turn the heat down a bit - window only opens a small amount so it was abit warm at night.
Early check in - great Air con in room- terrible. Old system and set to hot at all times and unable to adjust. ROOM 1004.
Asked for a new hairdryer-never arrived The one in the room did not work
Great place
The staff at reception were lovely and the room was extremely clean. I am purely marking down because I was hot very little sleep due to the heat in the room. No matter how low I turned the temp down the room was constantly pumped full of hot air.
Very good value for price
The room was boiling hot and even when we opened the windows it was still boiling. Couldn’t sleep because of this.
Room was lovely and clean staff friendly 😊 biscuits with your tea would have been even better
The hotel was as ever spotless and welcoming but the air con in the rooms doesnt appear to be working and it was unbearably hot. Its noisy in Glasgow so windows open is not really an option
Nice Hotel, nice staff , great location.
Great
Hotel is far too hot - it’s summer and heating on! Aircon is blowing out hot air on the lowest setting 10 degrees? Such ashame as the hotel and location are perfect. I didn’t sleep atalll, was given a fan and window opens a jar and made no difference to the heat. Hallways stifling hot also. So on that basis I won’t be back.
Visiting Glasgow for a show at the Armadillo we chose to stay overnight at the motel one. The room was excellent as where the staff I can highly recommend this hotel Only minor complaint no draught beer
Nice rooms and very good breakfast
The quality and good value I’ve come to expect from this chain. Good location near Glasgow Central and superlative service from the friendly barman.
We stayed for one night to celebrate my partners birthday and the hotel itself was lovely and the room was nice and clean. The only thing was that the room was roasting hot, the air con didn’t seem to blow out any cold air and caused us both to have an uncomfortable sleep. Due to this issue, I probably wouldn’t rush to return.
Huge line for check in. Our room was really hot but the front desk said the AC couldn’t be turned on. No maid service. No phones in room to call down to the front desk when we ran out of toilet paper since there was no maid service. No irons in the room. 1 soap in shower. Laundry would take 2 days. Bad breakfast. Very obvious that a “commitment to sustainability” was a commitment to saving money.
Super-convenient location, excellent value for money and comfortable bed. What I needed.
A very clean and spacious room, in a very good location!
Outstanding hotel, great staff, room spotless, very cool bar - only one thing was that the rooms were way too warm
25minutes to check in after a 4 hour train journey, the room was tiny and had a terrible view, the beds were very firm, not to my liking, the shower screen was stupidly placed and I walked into it 3 times before I worked it out. The toilet was literally too high, I’m 6”2 and I was on tiptoes having a shite. The lifts were good, I didn’t use any amenities or get food so I will mark you up slightly as it’s not fair to rate something I’ve not used. It was massively overpriced. The room was just impractical. Wasn’t happy at all. The barmaid didn’t know how to make a cocktail and had to ask what glass it was supposed to be made in, I gave up on my second drink due to poor service.
The hotel is in a great location close to the train & subway station, nightlife and shops. The rooms are small but clean and modern. The staff are extremely friendly and gave us tips of what to do during our stay and make great cocktails! Only downside it was quite noisy at night, we could hear the night club from our room. But didn’t affect our stay at all as we are deep sleepers.
Lovely hotel, really clean and the staff were lovely. My only minor issue was the noise in the room from a nearby club. Only very slight but enough to get me struggle to sleep.
Lovely hotel, lovely rooms with everything you need. My 10th floor room even had a great view.
Check in wasn't to bad bit of a que but didn't have to long to wait. Room was OK size but it was like sleeping next to a nigh club .if you wanted a quiet night sleep your out of luck . My biggest issue was the bar and bar staff . Went for a drink after being at a concert its not the brightest of areas. My husband who is partly sighted and deaf he wears a lanyard to let people know . He struggles in dark areas . So walking into the bar was a bit of a struggle for him . Your bar staff then took it upon himself to refuse us a drink as he thought he was drunk and said he had enough even with us explaining that he is blind he just said no . Not the experience we were expecting
Very clean and convenient for my short visit to Glasgow
The room was grand, sadly the view was not nice and the with the window open it was noisy so slept with window closed. The bar and breakfast room were fine and the food OK. I did not want to go out in the evening so ate in the bar and felt more than just a toasted sandwich could have been on offer.
Lovely hotel in a great location but 2 things massively let it down - firstly the queue for check in was 20 deep and there weren’t enough desks to cope with the volume of people wanting to check-in. Secondly the selection of drinks at the bar - no beer on draught and not a single IPA bottle on the menu. I’ve stayed in a number of Motel One hotels throughout the country and normally would rave about them - but not a great first impression when you’re having to queue for 15 mins just to check-in
Hi, the person at reception who checked us in couldn’t have been nicer and more helpful, especially with my mum who panics if she isn’t near a fire exit which was quickly adhered to! The only problem is, the tv only had around 5 channels, and weird ones like 1,12,19,27, not sure if your tv needs some auto tuning and updating.
I feel like MotelOne is going down hill. Since they got rid of daily housekeeping, there is a lot more litter in the corridors and lifts. I've also noticed that there's more issues in the rooms i.e. the soap dispensers just don't work and the shaving mirrors are loose. They may say that cutting the housekeeping service was to be more environmentally conscientious, but actually it's just to cut their costs. Unfortunately, they no longer have the attention to detail and the cleanliness of other hotels. I stay here on business, but I'm going to start asking my employer to look into other options.
Compact room, but spotless, comfortable bed, sound proof windows, great nights sleep. Would benefit from an iron in the room (had to request one from reception).
Very modern hotel, quiet room, comfy bed. Relatively simple breakfast
Stay here regularly. Very high cleanliness standards. Staff super helpful and friendly. Great location.
There is something wrong with the heating/cooling in this hotel. Switched to its lowest setting and it pumps out hot air - all night. Not conducive to a sleeping well. Spoils an otherwise good hotel.
Love this hotel for when we have something to attend at the Hydro. Train to the exhibition centre as its only a few steps from the hotel and the exhibition centre is just minutes away on the train. Lots of places to eat nearby that are open into the wee hours. Always especially love this hotel when we get a room with a view only problem is that we fight over the one chair for people watching 🤦♀️🤣
Poor quality hotel. AC not working thank god the window opened although still too hot in the room. Housekeeping was not done! When I spoke to front desk was inform that unless I asked for housekeeping nothing would be done...not even empty the bin! Of course no one mentioned this to us at check in!!. Asked for clean towels and housekeeping nothing happened complained again to the front desk and finally got some clean towels at 11:15pm!! Plastic cups in bathroom and for coffee and tea, when I complained was informed that it was environmental friendly option which I could have believed had they not provided tea coffee and milk in plastic pouches...which of course were not recycled! No bin liner, no feminine hygiene bin...tacky tacky tacky hotel!
Great hotel and very central. Reception staff very welcoming. Lovely rooms but didn’t like the plastic coffee cups in room. Would prefer ceramic cups.
Great location, professional staff. Room was too warm at night. Asked about air conditioning, was told the room doesn't cool with proper air conditioning even though the lobby was chilled. Disappointing. Would not repeat visit there in the summer months.
Great hotel and location ideal. Lovely friendly welcome upon arrival. The rooms were spacious and comfortable however very hot, despite adjusting the controls. The bar had a great selection of gins and cocktails, which were delicious. Would definitely return to Motel One again! Thank you.
The stay was fantastic. Felt comfortable. The rooms are clean and staff is friendly
Comfy bed. Central location. Way too hot which ruined the experience. Limited breakfast buffet. Not a very powerful shower.
Very basic, tiny rooms, overpriced. Pleasant staff but mediocre hotel
Place was very clean. Easy check-in and friendly desk staff.
I was very disappointed: I have stayed at Motel One Glasgow probably 10 or 15 times in the last four months. On Monday night 2/6, I arrived having made a mistake in my booking (I had booked 1/6 and 2/6 instead of 2/6 and 3/6). I realised my mistake upon checking in. On the basis that the hotel was not full on either 1/6 or 3/6, I expected that my booking would be amended at no extra cost (or just the rate differential, if any). But this was not the case, I had to pay for an additional night. Of course, this falls 100% within the T&Cs of the hotel, but I expected a gesture in view of my frequent visits. Not conducive to building loyalty...
Very clean.
Stayed in Room 1108 - air conditioning didn't seem to work very well (if at all), the carpets were very well worn and the shower wasn't attached to the wall very well. Location, staff, views, huge windows and car park discount were excellent! Bed was comfy but room was very hot with poor air con. Also went to claim our complimentary waters only to be told they had run out of bottles of water so we had to settle for two pints of tap water instead. Bar seemed reasonably priced. I would like to stay again but feel like I can get better value with the essential things done right elsewhere.

Six reasons why you need to visit Glasgow
Evergreen
The name Glasgow comes from Gaelic and means ‘dear green place’ – more than 90 parks and gardens, such as Pollock Country Park and Kelvingrove Park, are open to the public and are perfect for taking a walk or simply relaxing.
Active
There’s something on offer every day of the year here, from festivals to football matches, art-house cinema to comedy clubs. The music scene in particular is second to none, no matter whether you’re into jazz, hip hop, electro or classical. Designated by UNESCO as a City of Music, it’s not for nothing that Glasgow is home to one of the world’s most sold-out concert locations (The OVO Hydro), which hosts a constant stream of superstars. You can also discover up-and-coming musicians in bars such as King Tut’s or Nice ‘n’ Sleazy. And you can find the Scottish Opera, the National Ballet and the National Theatre here – not to mention the World Pipe Band Championships, which involve nothing less than the world championship title for bagpipes!
Wonderful(ly cheap)
The city has more than 20 museums and galleries, as well as numerous other sights, many of which have free admission – such as the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, which contains one of Europe’s largest art collections, the Gallery of Modern Art, Glasgow’s St Mungo’s Cathedral and the Botanic Gardens.
Varied
From climbing in a Gothic church to wakeboarding or winter sports in summer – Glasgow has much more than simply sightseeing to offer. Loch Lomond is also only around 40 minutes out of the city; you can explore the national park on foot, by boat or on horseback. Gourmands can examine the production of Scotland’s national drink by visiting one of the many whisky distilleries, such as the Clydeside Distillery in the middle of the city or the Glengoyne Distillery during a day trip out into the Highlands.
Spruced up
You might see an oversized panda just outside the front door, or an astronaut along the street: Glasgow has transformed into a real mecca for street art. You can discover some of the best artworks by taking a walk along the Mural Trail.
Appetising
Finnieston, in the west of the city, is Glasgow’s designated foodie district. There’s something to suit every taste, from young and cool locations to award-winning gourmet restaurants. By the way, Glasgow is also the UK’s most vegan-friendly city! It’s also got a thriving bar scene: things are no longer simply all about the (still delicious) whisky. Independent breweries have helped to establish craft beers, while juniper fans can look forward to specialised gin bars such as Gin71.

A journey studded with design
We have packed everything we need for the styling concept of our Motel One Glasgow: Get on board and enjoy the ride!
Hotel Glasgow
Situated immediately next to Glasgow Central Station, our affordable design hotel is dedicated to railway romance. The Motel One Glasgow combines the industrial character of train and rail technology with the special sense of adventure that accompanies a journey by train. Be inspired by the detailed artworks by Scottish photography duo Matthew Dalziel and Louise Scullion and take an exciting trip through the history of trains.
Our employees are busy operating the switches behind the reception to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Wireflow lights by Vibia are reminiscent of the shape of tracks and railroad switches. Our One Lounge is also electrifying: the Spectre design suspended luminaires by Quasar create a visual reference to high-voltage power cables, and you can read the timetable for the Central Station on an infoscreen mounted on the stone wall. If you’d like to experience an antique train compartment for yourself, take a seat on the quilted benches.
Shelves and tables transport you to Glasgow’s industrial past with high-quality brass fittings, while Aldo Bernardi wall lamps round off the design concept. The bar takes a more rustic approach: enjoy a view of Dalziel and Scullion’s amazing photography as you sit at the genuine wooden counter and channel the excitement of travelling by train.
Whether you visit us by train, plane or car, you can take advantage of the same comfortable box-spring beds, extensive breakfast buffet and free WiFi in our affordable design hotel that you have come to expect from Motel One. Situated immediately next to Glasgow Central Station, the hotel is not only highly accessible by public transport, it is also the ideal starting point for exploring sights like the Gallery of Modern Art, City Chambers and Glasgow Cathedral. Full steam ahead!
