I think the prices you charged for the weekend of the Great North Run were very expensive in fact extortionate, and not good that I had to stay for two nights and not one.
Absolutely amazing stay as always lush rooms great staff unbelievably helpful nothing was any trouble
Perfect location for a weekend stay in Newcastle. Rooms are clean and comfortable, staff friendly and the bar area is very relaxing. Highly recommend 👌
great! tv remote didn’t work though but otherwise all tip top as usual :) love motel one
Everything was fine except we had no hot water for our morning showers!
My second stay and looking forward to the third! Everything was excellent apart from not being able to check in until 3pm which was unhelpful
Excellent price, location, rooms and staff
Staff very friendly and good cleanliness. Hotel of modern design but some smaller details missed - wooden stirrers instead of spoons feels like it causes more issues than it solves. Was disturbed by housekeeping at 11am despite check out being at 12pm; although I accept I could’ve put the DND on the door, surely Reception will know when I checked out to inform housekeeping? Shower pressure also lower than expected and therefore water fell very close to the wall/taps, wasting the otherwise large shower cubicle - I had to cram against the wall to stand underneath the water. TV also overcomplicated - slow to respond and EPG wouldn’t load. Also disturbed by floorboards creaking above, and no way to get fresh air into room. Room itself quite crammed around the bed - bed felt oversized for the room, leaving little floor space, and bathroom door wouldn’t hold open.
The hotel is in a good position in the city centre but very overpriced! Shower was cold, some awful plastic beakers to drink out of and very little in the way of toiletries! Overall, disappointing!
A great stay in Newcastle! I came for the Great North Run and hotel prices seemed to go through the roof. I found Motel One who were in a good location and not too expensive.I wasn't expecting too much but actually found a really comfortable hotel with excellent staff, comfortable rooms and a great breakfast. Thanks so much for a great stay!
Great location, close to shops restaurants and bars. The public areas are very modern and comfortable. All staff we came into contact with were friendly and helpful. The bedroom was a let down. Small and very basic. Stains on the carpet, lipstick on the sink and one of the plastic cups. No bedside tables, no teaspoons, no glasses, plastic cups. Check in at 3pm strictly adhered to which is a shame as it makes a one night stay a 21 hour stay max. For the price I expected more.
Fantastic service at Motel One, the staff were friendly and helpful at every interaction. My Husband ran the Great North Run and they even put out extra bananas and energy bars for the runners at breakfast. The hotel was clean and had everything we needed.
Great value . Great experience overall.
Very accommodating and friendly staff. Very clean rooms. Great location. My room was very small, but this is consistent with other accommodations I've had in the UK.
This was our first time visiting Newcastle and found both the city and Motel One absolutely brilliant. Motel One is centrally located and was clean, welcoming and a delight to stay at. Really good value. We'll definitely chose Motel One for our next visit to Newcastle
Excellent as ever. The staff are always welcoming, and the hotel is a real oasis in the city.
Have stayed here before. Great central location with fantastic, friendly staff. Will be back again in a few months.
Had difficulty booking the hotel on line. Rang the hotel for help, but received no assistance.
In my booking I'd booked for a king sized bed room, upon arrival to my room it was made up as two separate beds. I went downstairs and asked to move into a king sized room - the receptionist was quite rude to be brutally honest. She 'didn't understand what I meant' and wasn't overly happy that I asked to move rooms. The room I was moved into, while correct and adequate, was directly beside a landing that looked like it was fairly accessible - as a single woman travelling alone it didn't inspire the most confidence in my safety overnight! I've stayed at this Motel One before and highly rated it, but the service this time really dampened things for me.
Just what I expected. Comfy bed. Staff polite.
Great location, price and hotel
Great little hotel in a fantastic city centre location. I would recommend a courtyard facing room as the noise from the surrounding bars can be loud.
Check in and check out was quick and easy, room was nice and clean. Everything in the room worked correctly, no issues. In a nice location, right in the city centre.
Excellent service. Spotlessly clean room. Brilliant location in the centre of Newcastle.
Al good and a wonderful place to stay. Central and staff extremley helpful and courteous.
Beautiful decor, friendly staff, good quality continental breakfast
All good
Great staff , nice clean open welcome environment
Very convenient location close to Newcastle centre. Room was clean and quiet. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was varied and delicious. Definitely, I would book this hotel again if I ever to to Newcastle.
It was recommended highly by a friend and wasn't so sure, but when I booked it and got there it was fantastic really amazing.
Really nice hotel! On one hand basic, but basic done very well and stylishly! Room extremely quiet considering the hotel placement in town. Extremely clean and comfy bed. Overall ambience of the hotel made you feel relaxed as soon as you enter the front door!
First impressions it was a lovely hotel. Check-in was efficient and friendly. Rooms are small but spotlessly clean with the amenities you need.
5 only due to Staff being unfriendly almost showing contempt for guests. Even upon arrival
Hotel was lovely, easy to check in and out- all staff that we spoke to were wonderful and cocktails in the bar were delicious. Bed wasn't overly comfy but that is personal preference. Bathroom was gorgeous with an amazing shower. It was rather loud at night despite being on the fourth floor, bottle bins being emptied in the early hours of the morning but overall a great experience and we would book again.
I was generally happy with the overall stay. Though I was shocked to find that many friends also staying had paid a quarter of the price we had paid.
Hotel internal look very nice. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Room good size, bed very comfortable. Location absolutely fantastic. Continental breakfast good 👍. Overall great stay, would certainly stay again. Highly recommended
I recently visited Newcastle for the first time, and choosing this hotel made my trip so much more enjoyable. The location was absolutely perfect, right in the heart of the city, which meant I could easily explore shops, restaurants, and attractions all within walking distance. Being so central added a lot of convenience and really enhanced my stay. On top of that, the hotel was very reasonably priced and offered excellent value for money. It’s not often you find somewhere that balances cost, comfort, and quality this well. What stood out above everything else, though, was the outstanding staff. From check-in to check-out, every member of the team was professional, welcoming, and attentive. They worked efficiently while still making sure guests felt comfortable and valued, which created a warm and inviting atmosphere throughout my stay. I especially want to highlight Amber, one of the managers, who was incredibly professional and attentive. She made sure everything ran smoothly and went out of her way to be supportive and approachable, which really made a difference. I also want to mention Jordan, who was equally impressive. While I was at the bar, he took the time to chat with me, making me feel very welcome. He also gave me some great recommendations for places to eat and drink in Newcastle, which made my trip even more memorable. Overall, the fantastic location, value for money, and exceptional service from Amber and Jordan made this a stay I’ll always remember.
I had a comfortable and enjoyable stay at Motel 1 in Newcastle. The location is excellent for the city centre, the staff were friendly and helpful and my room was comfortable and quiet.
Great location for shops, bars, theatre etc. Very clean and comfortable. Staff very helpful.
Welcoming and helpful staff all over. Rooms are on the small side but perfect for what was needed for our stay. Great location in the city
Great straightforward accommodation. Newly and tastefully decorated with super-comfy beds.
Really friendly staff and well worth the money
Room, facilities and staff excellent.
Lovely, clean central hotel with friendly staff.
Excellent room, location and staff.
Our first experience of Motel One and it will not be our last - well designed rooms especially for a disabled guest. Would thoroughly recommend as well for the very competitive prices
Great hotel. Good central location. Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and very quiet room. Good bar and lounge area. Great value for money.Would definitely recommend
Bar area nice .Breakfast in the morning value for money everything was clean and homemade. Staff friendly bar and reception great . Found out in the morning the mattress under the covers was urine stained after we had already slept in it . some stains on the floor as well but no issues with the actual bedding and bathroom . Guests were also complaining when checking in about cleanliness. Hotel was great up untill we found the mattress with is a shame.
Hotel looks great, staff attentive room was clean, simple and comfortable. Nice bed. bathroom clean. Will come back again.
Fantastic hotel. Staff friendly, helpful and professional. Rooms comfortable and beds superb. Overall excellent.

Hotel Newcastle
Our centrally-located Motel One Newcastle is warmed by the charm of raw brickwork, in the form of a genuine brick façade with an industrial style harking back to the history of this working-class city. The interior design takes as its motif the bridges over the Tyne, and the stylish faux-industrial bar pays homage to the achievements of Robert Stephenson, who designed the Rocket steam locomotive. Real leather furniture by Baxter and fine rugs by Jan Kath complement the look. Elegant details such as chairs by Arketipo with distinctive steel frames, and mirrored shelving stocked with carafes of whisky add touches of charm.
And of course, it is no accident that the striped wallpaper at reception is in Newcastle United colours. Even the location in the city’s historic centre suits the industrial-modern style of our affordable Design Hotel. Sights such as the Theatre Royal, Grey’s Monument and Newcastle Town Hall are close at hand, the hotel is handy for the central station, and the airport is easily accessible.
Book your room in our Design Hotel and experience the rich contrasts between “old” industrial and “new” modern design.
