The hotel was amazing. The bed was so comfortable. All the staff were so friendly & polite.
Nice casual friendly vibe. Great location for the main shopping mall and the old historic pub. Also very close to the cathedral and the hidden gem catholic church.
Excellent stay. Friendly staff in a great location.
Bed sheets were dirt - did complain to front desk but nothing was done
Room was very clean, bed was comfy, staff were friendly.
Lovely hotel, excellent location, fabulous staff
Great room with queen bed. Very clean. Allowed to check in early, efficient, friendly and great value for money.
Warm welcome; clean and presentable room: very comfortable bed. Efficient at the bar. Unfussy!
Motel One in great location in Manchester, very friendly staff and a nice lounge and breakfast area with all the standard Motel One services and some references to the history of the Royal Exchange with yarn.
Excellent staff really helpful especially ginevra and Fatima . Great customer service
Michael at reception with excellent checking us in out and helping us park our car
Great hotel . Lovely bar and rooms were clean and modern . Great shower too . Would 100% recommend
Lovely Hotel in the Centre of Manchester. Great position for shopping trams and places to visit. Great staff and service.😊
It was a spontaneous stay following some train cancellations but I’m so glad there was a room available. All the staff were so friendly and welcoming (despite the time of night!). The reception is really inviting and stylish, as was the room. I felt really safe staying in the hotel and also sitting in the bar area on my own.
Simple check in and exactly what you need for a business hotel, clean proffesional and value for money.
Good stay overall. So convenient location wise. Quick and easy check in. Room clean. Bedsheets and towels fresh. Only gripe was the air con didn't work properly in the room.
Rachele was very kind and informative and made our stay a real pleasure! Thank you!
I can’t speak highly enough of the wonderful staff I met at this hotel. But in particular Darren from Glasgow was absolutely brilliant - both on the phone when I first booked - and again - professional and welcoming in person when I met him at the front desk. I also met James - I think he is in charge of maintenance - at the front desk who is another great representative of the hotel’s great hospitality. Both staff members seem to really like what they do, which is great endorsement for the company. I’ll definitely stay in this hotel again soon !
Here's a review based on your experience: *4/5 stars* "Stayed at Motel One in Manchester and had a decent experience. The room was clean and functional, and the bed was super comfortable. The shower was perfect every morning, which was a great start to the day. The location is spot on for exploring the city centre. However, the one major downside was the strong smell of pot in the corridors, which was a bit of a buzzkill. Would still consider staying here again for the price and location, but hopefully, they'll sort out the smoking issue."
Great hotel and location, really friendly staff. Reception man at check in was so helpful and quick to get the room key. Nice room a little small although clean, comfy bed and no issues with the room.
Excellent location and staff very friendly. Told we had an upgrade to the Queen room to a disabled adapted room. Personally I hate these types of rooms. Bed too low. Lack of sockets. Shower too low and you have to stoop. No plug near the mirror for doing your hair. This wasn't an upgrade in any shape or form in all honesty. This did let the experience down alot which was a shame.
From the warm welcome and cool vibe in reception through to the spotless rooms and comfortable beds everything was just perfect.
With clean, well-designed rooms, swift check-in, and card-drop checkout, Motel One is the go-to source for budget travel – whether on business or taking a city break, the chain offers well-located budget stays for everyone.
Really great location, nice rooms and good price. Can’t ask for much more!
Air con/heating not working
Great location with a stylish reception and bar area, room I had was small but good value for money, I’d definitely stay at a Motel One again.
my stay was vey good. the staff are very helpful and friendly
Cold experience on check in from the lady on reception. just not really friendly, but she was very efficient. Checkout was good and friendly. Breakfast hot food was cold. temp on the hotplates was on 1. I didn't notify anyone though Employees in the breakfast room were talking between themselves not in English. I'm fine with it, but could see other guests found it uncomfortable. General experience was excellent, and very good value for money, and a well-presented hotel.
very friendly and helpful staff, check-in was efficient and quick, especially receptionist Michael was helpful during my stay. Location is wonderful and centrally. I will come to stay again in the future
turned up at 2pm to be told the room wasn't ready. left luggage, came back after 3pm. at 3pm was told the room still wasn't ready. should clarify - booked a bigger room, not standard, as we were travelling with an infant. at 5pm, still issues and now the room wasn't available due to maintenance. given a standard room and told we'd be charged "less", but were charged for a big room. went to the standard room, and you couldn't get inside with a pushchair. went back to reception and told them that we couldn't get inside and the manager (i think) called someone and appeared very frustrated with them on the phone. they then told him there was a room on the 7th floor that was available. were finally given the keys and it was the room we booked, clean and ready to go. thought that was the end of it, but at breakfast they didn't have our details (we paid for breakfast) then at the end of the day when we returned to our room the keys were disabled this was all very annoying and upsetting. regarding the room- the water pressure was really poor! I have stayed previously and had a good experience, this time was very bad. the worst part of it was the staff just were not apologetic and didn't seem to care about sorting anything out. they just didn't feel it was their problem and didn't make much effort to remediate any problems. even asking for an invoice copy, we were told twice to come back later .. something which should take 30 seconds.
Great Location! Great Staff! Super Clean! Superb Breakfast! A stand-out from other Motel Ones who themselves are very good!
One of the best City Centre Motels we have ever stayed in, very clean, very comfortable and extremely helpful staff, already booked our next stay.
Fantastic hotel and fantastic staff. I love staying at Motel One!
Really lovely hotel booked at last minute after being let down by another hotel for over booking. Would definitely stay again. Location, rooms and breakfast we’re all amazing
Hi, room was way to hot and couldn’t open the window so it made the stay and night even worse because my body doesn’t handle hot conditions very well.
Motel One yet again provide comfort and value, my room had a street view and couldn't have been quieter.
Stayed at Motel One in many places but this one is our favourite place, it is like home from home, prob stayed 10 times or more now :-)
Good value for money, very central, nice staff, clean!
Great for what we needed. Room a little small and water pressure a little low in shower. Very clean and comfy. Staff very helpful and friendly. Would stay again without hesitation.
We had a wonderful 2 night stay at Motel One in central Manchester on Cross Street. The staff made our stay extra special by being so pleasant, approachable and helpful. Massive shout out to G & G (Georgiana and Ginevra), who both went above and beyond to make our stay more comfortable with room temperature and bespoke hot drinks. The bar tender also made a great sex on the beach cocktail, breakfast staff were really pleasant and friendly. The room and ensuite were clean and comfortable. The lobby and hallways are moody and well maintained. Wished the bathroom had more hooks for towels. Very happy with our stay overall and will happily return.
Very basic room. Minimal tea/ coffee, no biscuits or extras. Clean, neat, central. Very friendly reception staff.
From the minute I arrived at the hotel, my experience was exemplary. I had a beautiful room which was absolutely spotless, with everything I needed. The reception team were fabulous & the hotel is in a great location. It

Location and surroundings
Hotel Manchester Royal Exchange
Our Motel One Manchester-Royal Exchange is designed with a trendy faux-industrial look in memory of Manchester’s golden era when it was known as “Cottonopolis”: all about cotton as a raw material and its processing. The foyer is dominated by six-metre high round steel arches and a wall of printed cloth, as a foretaste of our theme. Furniture by Baxter and hanging lamps by Alturo Alvarez are complemented by details such as spools of thread and spinning machines.
The main eye-catcher is a wall installation entitled "Cottonopolis" by paper artist Andy Singleton, composed entirely of shapes cast by innumerable single threads.
Our affordable hotel is situated right opposite the Royal Exchange Theatre in the very heart of Manchester. The Town Hall, Manchester Cathedral, Manchester Arena and the Manchester Central Convention Complex are within walking distance, and both Victoria and Manchester Piccadilly stations are within easy reach.
Visit us in Manchester and find out about the centre of the cotton trade.

Cool Cotton
Classic British furniture, paper sculptures and more will transport you to "Cottonopolis" - 19th century Manchester.

Cutting Edge
Paper artist Andy Singleton has proven a steady hand for Motel One Manchester-Royal.
