Booked to stay again the same day as checked out! Beautiful hotel and lovely staff! Amazing location!!
Wonderfully positioned for REXx theatre and city centre shopping. Friendly staff, rooms clean and well designed. Shower and WC clean. AC not very good as my little it was difficult to turn temperature down. Breakfast buffet excellent. Overall a good experience.
Very convenient hotel, comfortable bed, room too warm with ineffective air-con. Clean, good bathroom
We had to book the room at short notice due to our original guest being over booked. Staff were very helpful.
Check in was efficient. My room was spotlessly clean with comfortable bed and super large screen television. The bathroom was equally clean with nice organic handwash and shower wash and good lighting.
Clean . Great location . Nice staff . Good bed All round very nice stay .
Consistently good hotels. The staff at the manchester exchange hotel are always friendly. I do wish that there were plug points near the mirror in the rooms though.
Great central location. My hotel experience was marred by at first not being able to find the room thermostat, arriving late and befuddled with tiredness. Shiverred with cold that night, there was no extra blanket in the room. For the second night I’d mananged to turn of the cold air. It proved impossible to reactivate it. Luckily the natural temperature was acceptable, if sadly stuffy. On the first morning I asked staff for a blanket. Got a sheet. Asked again, got a fitted mattress cover. Gave up on the blanket.
Overall our stay was good. The room was a little smaller than we expected, breakfast was good and location great for the City
Convenient. Clean & tidy. Efficient.
We booked a family room. It was huge. There was a very large double bed and a single bed. I took the single and it was very comfortable. The shower was great. The continental breakfast was fine and plenty there for vegans. Staff were all very friendly and attentive.
Curtains do not block out any light whatsoever Not enough space to open 2 suitcases on the floor - given that there is no wardrobe or other space, that is not very practical Safe would not lock - keypad was not functioning properly TV not watchable due to picture freezing every few seconds Staff and location were great When I tried using Booking.com I received no response to my questions - that has NEVER happened in all the years of using Booking.com i.e. that a property/hotel did not respond at all
Great value for money, very central location in Manchester.
Amazing! All of the staff are so so lovely and willing to help you out in any way.
Great and very central
Superb hotel. Perfect location.
A great hotel in a great location. Friendly staff, great breakfast.
Pleasant stay. Excellent location. More room for luggage would help. At reception we were assisted by Ginevra who is really professional and kind. She knows how to make guests feel welcome and special.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Motel One Manchester. The location was superb, I was greeted by such a warm and friendly welcome at check in which made me feel so welcome. The lobby was attractive and inviting. My room although small was spotless and had every amenity and a clever usage of space. I particularly liked the bathroom. The bed was very comfy and it was quiet, those are the three major criteria's for me when staying in a hotel. Clean, attractive room. Comfortable bed. Peace and quiet. Breakfast was great and the breakfast waitress was so friendly and could not do enough. I would always recommend a Motel One and hope to stay with you again soon. Many thanks
Lovely and clean hotel with lovely staff too x
Always a lovely stay
Great location and excellent value for money
An excellent place to stay.
It was a good experience. The room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. I will definitely come back here anytime I’m in Manchester and need a hotel to stay in.
UNFORTUNATELY THERE WAS A COUPLE FIGHTING IN THE CORRIDOR - RUNNING BACK AND FORTH, SCREAMING, SHOUTING ETC. 23:00 / 01:30 / 04:00 SO A REALLY BAD SLEEP. NOT WHAT I NEEDED FOR A SITE MEETING @ 08:30
Fast check in, great location and thank you to the gentleman that gave us complimentary check out until 13:00 :)
Great location, lovely rooms, great staff.
Excellent location and the hotel staff were very friendly
Great place to stay for a night out. Staff great . Bar great
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff were helpful and friendly, the room was clean and the bed was comfy. The location is central, only a few minutes walk to the shops. We would definitely stay again
Disappointed After Years of Loyalty I’ve been staying at this hotel for years and have always booked a standard room. The experience was consistent and satisfactory, which is why I kept coming back. However, this Easter holiday I decided to treat myself and booked a room with a front view and a king-size bed (180cm) — both of which came at an extra cost. Unfortunately, upon arrival, I was given a room that had neither the view nor the bed I paid for. After bringing this to the reception’s attention, I was reallocated to a room designed for disabled guests. While it had a slightly larger bed, it still lacked the promised view and overall ambiance I was expecting. I left feeling disappointed and let down. After paying extra, I expected to receive the upgraded experience I was promised. Sadly, I didn’t get value for the additional money, and I no longer see the point in booking anything more than the standard room — if I return at all.
The decor was very good. The room was a little small, as was the bathroom but still had everything I needed. Noise level from outside & other guests was low. 1 of the pillows had a couple of stains so I didn’t use it. Staff were all lovely. Although breakfast was continental there was plenty of choice.
Great location. Nice clean room. Massive, comfy bed. Great staff. Brilliant breakfast.
Would be nice if the emails they sent were in English. Parking on site situation was ridiculous. Had to park on double yellows, run in, get a fob and then try and get into the narrowest car park I've ever been in. Stupid.
This hotel is by far the best we've stayed in , in Manchester. It is in a great location, is very clean, the staff are friendly and professional but best of all the beds are soooo comfortable. We have stayed in this hotel numerous times and feel refreshed every time.
Lovely girl welcomed us at check in. View from room not fabulous but I’m not here to gaze out of the window all day. Really comfy bed, excellent pillows and good quality bedding. Bathroom spotlessly clean, great shower, decent toilet roll. Would stay again. 👍🏼
Overall stay was great no issue with the room but the breakfast was really underwhelming, needs further improvments, more food items.
Room was a bit small. Sockets for items were also not best placed. Had to unplug things to plug in phones etc Storage for clothes was minimal. Most ended up in the floor as there were 2 of us and we stayed for 2 nights. Nowhere to store toiletries Pillow was too soft and room was too warm. Would not like to stay in summer The TV picture was freezing constantly and unwatchable.
Very clean and friendly staff
Great communication with staff. Extremely clean and efficient. Good breakfast. Great location. Will 100% stay again and recommend to others.
Great value for money for the offering , excellent central location for shopping etc, very clean and friendly helpful staff , only downside is not having more food options however there is plenty food places around
Great location. Very good breakfast. Good room.
Great location. The room had dusty remotes and appliences. I could hear people from next room. Its a good thing I am a deep sleaper
Very good stay! Would definitely return again. Amazing location.
Absolutelly brillant! Costel was such a heartful and helpful host at the reception. Once we join Manchester again, this hotel will be our choice! Thanks to the whole team for welcoming us very friendly and for making our trip to Manchester so great
Nice comfy bed, nice size TV compared to other hotels, room a bit snug.
Good location, clean but was it worth the money , not really
Lovely hotel, with good amenities in a great central location
I always enjoy my stay at Motel One Royal Exchange Manchester, the staff are so friendly and helpful and the rooms nice and clean and comfortable. The only thing that really prevents a 10 score is that it could do with a bit of a refresh as is looking a bit worn.
Another great stay at Motel ONE. Although the booking is in the name of my father I am reviewing for Ahmet and Linda Okur . We want to thank all of the staff for making our stay so pleasant . Special thanks to Fatima , Mario, Celeste and Abbie. They all remembered us from our last visit a year ago and they made us feel so welcome like family All of the staff at the hotel really make a difference and they create an atmosphere of relaxation and calm. The room was spotless and the breakfast was delicious 10 out of 10 for everything

Location and surroundings
Your Motel One with industrial chic
Our Motel One Manchester-Royal Exchange is designed with a trendy faux-industrial look in memory of Manchester’s golden era when it was known as “Cottonopolis”: all about cotton as a raw material and its processing. The foyer is dominated by six-metre high round steel arches and a wall of printed cloth, as a foretaste of our theme. Furniture by Baxter and hanging lamps by Alturo Alvarez are complemented by details such as spools of thread and spinning machines.
The main eye-catcher is a wall installation entitled "Cottonopolis" by paper artist Andy Singleton, composed entirely of shapes cast by innumerable single threads.
Our affordable hotel is situated right opposite the Royal Exchange Theatre in the very heart of Manchester. The Town Hall, Manchester Cathedral, Manchester Arena and the Manchester Central Convention Complex are within walking distance, and both Victoria and Manchester Piccadilly stations are within easy reach.
Visit us in Manchester and find out about the centre of the cotton trade.

Cool Cotton
Classic British furniture, paper sculptures and more will transport you to "Cottonopolis" - 19th century Manchester.

Cutting Edge
Paper artist Andy Singleton has proven a steady hand for Motel One Manchester-Royal.
