We had a very friendly and helpful welcome on arrival, the staff went out of their way to allow us to check in early. Very quick and efficient service, the room was clean, well appointed and big enough for our needs. The bed was comfortable. We paid for breakfast which is just a continental, but there was plenty of choice available.
The team are extremely welcoming and were all very polite and attentive. Had a fire alarm one night, where someone could have communicated better with guests so that we knew what was going on. Rooms were comfortable and the breakfast was excellent
Comfortable bed, nice clean room! I would have liked more pillows on my bed but apart from that everything was great!
The only gripe I have is that the carpet wasn’t as clean as I would have expected (not filthy, but I felt it was due a clean) and there was some mould in the grouting of the shower tiles, but not a lot and the bathroom was otherwise immaculate and the best part of the whole room. I liked that the window in the bedroom could open a decent amount to let a breeze through and I was really impressed with the WiFi. I had no problems with noise whatsoever and slept very comfortably. Breakfast was great and staff were all very friendly, helpful, welcoming and polite: from front of house, bar staff, housekeeping - everyone. Great location too!
Very enjoyable stay at your Manchester Royal Exchange and the staff were very helpful indeed. The service was excellent and quality of room was top quality. The breakfast was very good with lots of choice. I would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone wishing to stay there.
Friendly staff, decent rooms, breakfast was sufficient but the only hot option available was boiled eggs
Great location, rooms very modern and clean. Friendly reception at on check in and check out.
Clean, modern and super friendly staff
The property is well located and reasonably good value. The reception staff that 'greeted' us informed us we couldn't check in for 4 minutes! and then gave us an inferior room to the one we had booked which meant a phone call to the hotel with my mobile as no phones in the room and a move to the correct room. Once in the correct room it was fairly spacious if basic. About 8 hangers and no where else to put clothes so clearly this hotel is designed for overnight stays only rather than several nights.
Excellent
Very comfortable room in a hotel ideally situated for Manchester’s central attractions and shopping. Very nice staff on reception. Booked car parking which is very convenient but the system is chaotic. The instruction is to report to reception to get a key fob for the car park. To do this you run the risk of a ticket - if you miss the turning alongside the Hotel you have to drive through an area prohibited to general traffic (fine incoming). Only one of the three lifts in reception goes down to the car park, but it is not signed as such on the wall, so finding the correct lift first time is frustrating.
Stayed for one night. Great location. Large moth in room 405 lost rating one point. Disappointed that booking parking was not recommended. As a disabled driver this led to a lot of discomfort finding suitable parking.
the room was clean and the overall presentation was good
Room 133 wasn't very nice - dull - the carpet was disgusting - no privacy at all. Very disappointed
Lovely hotel. Sockets were not in right place. No socket near table with kettle, had to put the kettle on the floor and unplug a lamp. Also no socket near mirror to dry hair, had to unplug another lamp to use socket.
Considering the price, room was clean, functional and comfortable. Bathroom was clean, shower good. All staff very polite and helpful. Definitely stay again.
But you seriously need to sort out your parking situation
An excellent city centre location with friendly staff. Room was small but modern and good value for money
staff were excellent, however paid for a premium room and got a worse room that our friends who got a ‘standard’ one.
Really nice modern clean hotel in an excellent central location with intergrated parking too!!!! At very competitive prices - my room was so clean I swear I was the first person to ever stay in it (room 741) - my acquaintance Jess said the same about her room too!!!!! #Fantastic
Despite checking in online as requested we still had to endure a lengthy wait to check in. The online check in service advised that we would be able to pick up your key card directly from our designated pickup station at the hotel. There was no indication this was actually available on arrival at the hotel. The room was smaller than expected and bare minimum supplies. One paper cup
Excellent experience. The reception staff were friendly and welcoming, they sorted out parking for me after I had overlooked it. The room was spotless and comfortable. Excellent value for a city centre hotel. I would thoroughly recommend and have booked to stay again. Thank you.
Very clean perfect location with paid on site parking
Functional, clean hotel in the centre of Manchester. 2nd time there.
Always a Professionel welcome. The rooms are exceptional clean and well balanced. There is always a good vibe and the decor truly represents Manchesters history. Thank you.
Room clean Small Bathroom door loud Reception area was fine
We enjoyed our stay at Motel One. Our room size was adequate for one night and it was great that the bar was open when we got back late for a drink. We enjoyed the continental breakfast.
Lovely room not big but big enough for us , comfortable bed great shower and wc, there was no english breakfast ,but we had a very nice breakfast with what was available ,so no complaints in any part of our stay , and all the team were very helpful and polite , very enjoyable stay thanks
Convenient location, pleasant staff, excellent breakfast choices. Room servicing was a bit hit and miss - toilet rolls not replenished on one occasion, yes bags, spoons, cups not replaced. Unfortunately, air conditioning did not work properly; I could put it on but it only stayed on for a couple of minutes, which wasn't ideal. I enjoyed my stay but definite room for improvement.
Friendly helpful staff really enjoyed our stay. Room a bit small but clean and comfortable.
The stay was fine, the room was clean and comfortable but a little small, the bathroom was okay, the walk-in shower felt slightly slippery. We didn’t have breakfast because we always like a full breakfast when we stay in a hotel. There didn’t seem to have any parking close by an it cost us £35 in a NCP park (rip off) Good location for shopping and restaurants, all in all we enjoyed our stay.
Good location great staff
Nice property, especially at the price point. It is somewhat annoying to have to leave the bathroom basin tap running, because the plug cannot be shut. It's a waste of water. Had options for Gluten Free breakfast, but the offering is still very dominated by bread products.
The check in process for the MIF25 was a bit disorganized. But the staff was really friendly and did their best to sort it out.
Thought the special one at the hotel was on the top floor but other than that it was amazing
Great location, friendly staff, lovely room and comfortable bed.
It’s is a lovely hotel and nice and clean and the staff are lovely put got woke up at 5 in the morning with noise
An attractive interior, very comfortable beds, clean, eco-friendly with a delicious, plentiful continental breakfast and friendly staff. Plus the security of having our car on the premises.
Great central location. Comfortable, quiet room.
Upon arrival at check-in the receptionist took my name, but could not find me on their system. After looking at my confirmation details I realised I had booked the room for the same day I had made the reservation. They quickly rectified this, it was sorted within minutes. So thank you for that. The room was very clean, bathroom to a high standard and again very clean. We booked breakfast which was plentiful with a wide options. The crossings were a delight and fresh, as was everything else. We have stayed at this Motel One before and would not hesitate to return if we need to stay over in Manchester. Big thank to all of the staff. Mrs Joy Muir
Great location , friendly staff , exceptional room with very comfortable bed and clean premises.
Staid here for three night, but they forgot to clean the roon the second night. No clean towels, no made up bed. Upon complaining towels were provided and the bed was straightened but still not cleaned. Location was good, rooms were nice and cold.
We have stayed with you several times but this time was a disappointment. We were upgraded as apparently our room was not available due to maintenance. The room was obviously larger and was clean and comfortable. But it was on floor 7, and throughout our stay we were very aware of the noise from the air con vents on the roof which sound like a helicopter Kept my friend awake. We also asked for a room at the end of the corridor and we were given one directly opposite the lifts which we heard constant announcements from and the noise of guests using these.
Friendly welcome at reception. Stafs on front desk always helpful. Room had no desk (I'm a writer) but it mattered not' smallish but in a just-fine way and all facilities in good working order. Very good breakfast. I've no idea about the price of room as I was staying as guest of a Manchester organisation, but it was an excellent one-night stay in a central location.
Below average hotel for price. The hotel is aesthetically pleasing but functionally misses the mark. Moreover, service is hit and miss. One receptionist was extremely rude and dismissive regarding receipt of corporate payment. Breakfast is continental only, rooms are tiny, there's no desk for working, blackout blinds are ineffective and the shower try is extremely slippery. All in all a terrible hotel for a business stay.
Great location, clean modern rooms and efficient service. All at a competitive room rate
Beautiful hotel value for money extremely clean one of the comfiest beds I've slept in the bar man was so friendly and welcoming will defo be back
I'm a regular at this hotel and it's always a good stay, thank you. I love the design of the rooms - the curtains cross over so there is proper closure - brilliant. Just a couple of niggles this time: the bedside light didn't work (the window side of the bed) and the air conditioning control didn't work, so it just had to be on or off, I couldn't control the temperature. It would have been nice to have some options of camomile or peppermint tea as well as the English breakfast - but that's nitpicking!
It took really long until the soap was replaced in my room, even though I have informed front desk
The shower head was broken as water was spraying out the seal which splashed water everywhere. Room was clean and in good location however wouldn’t stay here more than a couple of nights. Window view was of a brick wall and loading bay. Wifi would work sometimes and not work other times.

Location and surroundings
Hotel Manchester Royal Exchange
Our Motel One Manchester-Royal Exchange is designed with a trendy faux-industrial look in memory of Manchester’s golden era when it was known as “Cottonopolis”: all about cotton as a raw material and its processing. The foyer is dominated by six-metre high round steel arches and a wall of printed cloth, as a foretaste of our theme. Furniture by Baxter and hanging lamps by Alturo Alvarez are complemented by details such as spools of thread and spinning machines.
The main eye-catcher is a wall installation entitled "Cottonopolis" by paper artist Andy Singleton, composed entirely of shapes cast by innumerable single threads.
Our affordable hotel is situated right opposite the Royal Exchange Theatre in the very heart of Manchester. The Town Hall, Manchester Cathedral, Manchester Arena and the Manchester Central Convention Complex are within walking distance, and both Victoria and Manchester Piccadilly stations are within easy reach.
Visit us in Manchester and find out about the centre of the cotton trade.

Cool Cotton
Classic British furniture, paper sculptures and more will transport you to "Cottonopolis" - 19th century Manchester.
