very clean hotel and room. room has everything you need- hot drinks facilities, wardrobe, tv, safe, comfy bed. enjoyed the calm bar area, having a night cap before bed, watching the world go by. good location
Staff are extremely helpful professionals and hotels are clean
A very nice hotel in a great location, unfortunately our first night was interrupted by someone playing loud music in the room next to us, when we told the gentleman on reception in the morning he didn't even acknowledge our concern and basically ignored us, we then told a lady on the reception later in the day & got the same response (is this how they are trained to deal with these situations) We booked for 3 nights but under 2 different bookings (1 booking for the first night & the second booking for the last 2 nights) When we got there on the first night we were told that was fine and we could just stay in the same room but after the first night with the noise next door they didn't do anything to help so we had to book out and then book in after 3PM the next day so we had to kill time around Manchester with having had a dreadful night sleep, we felt like we were being treated as the people in the wrong, this put us off & we would put us off staying in this specific motel one again. We have stayed in other Motel Ones in Manchester & Newcastle and always found the staff very helpful & friendly, far from what we got here.
Great location, easy to find and in such a convenient area of Manchester. Lovely room with a brilliant view and a lovely bathroom.
Great location , good service , clean room. Will be back again
Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Clean and well equipped room. Comfy bed.
Great location. The room is dark though. The shower was not great it was fixed with tape. But I couldn't be bothered to move room. Probably best to get it fixed for the next guest. I got bitten in the face by a bug. I did tell reception. Probably should have had a small discretionary refund
Excellent support from desk staff Andrea Clean, comfy room and lovely good quality continental breakfast
Was everything great but only one thing ,needs small fridge in the room.
Excellent location, reasonable price and a very polite and efficient service.
Great location 5 mins from Victoria Station. Very friendly helpful staff. My go to when in visiting Manchester
I loved my stay here, staff are very friendly
From us dropping our cases off 2hrs before check in you welcomed us with a friendly professional manner.
Good location. Lovely bathroom. Great price.
The room was extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean, the shower excellent (lots of hot water, good pressure), and the amenities outstanding. The bar is a pleasant place for a late-night drink. Very good breakfast with a good selection of options. All this would be reason enough to return to Motel One but the courteous, helpful and supremely efficient staff are the best thing about this chain. As ever, a great experience.
This is the 2nd time I have stayed here, and now, will always be my first choice. It is in a great location, really central, and there is a car park, 5 minutes away. The hotel is tastefully decorated, the rooms have everything you need, including tea and coffee facilities, hairdryer, and hair and shower gel. All the staff were lovely. There is a lovely chilled vibe, I sat in the reception area in the morning, waiting for my friend it was nice and relaxed. I didn't have the breakfast, but they offer continental style. Overall, great experience.
Beautiful hotel, very clean, staff really helpful and friendly, location amazing, only slight criticism is the lighting in the rooms but that’s just me I like it bright! Would definitely recommend and would most certainly rebook x
As always, clean and comfortable room, friendly staff and decent breakfast. You simply get very good value for money and a consistent standard from all Motel One's. Try not to stay anywhere else when away on travel.
Good hotel, friendly, clean inviting reception. Booked this hotel for the location near to AOArena and station. The hotel is ideal for the Arndale centre and the royal exchange and we will stay here again for the next event.
Great service, great price
Excellent stay , booked for the olly murs concert but was cancelled . Rooms comfortable. Bar very welcoming and breakfast was excellent
We had a lovely stay the room was just what we needed clean and comfortable will be staying here again for sure
This hotel was very clean and the decoration is beautiful. The rooms are lovely and have everything you need for your stay. The staff where friendly and helpful. The bar area is a lovely calming area great place to start of your night here with cocktails made at a great standard. I would definitely stay again.
Amazing hotel, clean and smells lovley in the reception area. Rooms are lovley with a great shower. In the perfect location round the corner from the Arndale center lots of place to get food and drink and about a 10-15 min walk to the ao arena. We will definitely be back when we are next in Manchester.
Lovely stay and excellent staff
The hotel from start to finish was amazing, great location, friendly and helpful staff! I'm back in June and I cant wait :)
I have stayed at Motel one Royal Exchange and few times now and have always found the staff friendly, rooms pleasant and location very convenient for work and leisure. I didn't use the WiFi, bar or have breakfast. My one request/recommendation is that the main entrance allow automatic entry using key cards when reception is unmanned. A group of other guests and I were left waiting outside at 2am Friday morning when no-one was responding to the intercom system.
Super central hotel in walking distance to AO arena and train station. Staff were really friendly and made us feel welcome. Price was good and rooms were clean. Overall very impressed. Thank you ☺️
Good value for money. Clean and very friendly staff, together with an excellent breakfast.
Love the location, price and staff. My home from home every week.
The location was excellent for us. The room was great, comfy bed, city view. Very clean. Staff were helpful and friendly. Would recommend and definitely rebook
Great hotel in the centre of town. Very comfy bed and good shower. I enjoyed the bar downstairs which made it welcoming on return from an evening out. The staff were all lovely and the room was small but clean and had everything you would need for a night’s stay. I appreciated the later check out time of 12 noon and we left our luggage to go shopping the following day. It’s just a 10 minute walk to Victoria station. Highly recommend!
Check in professional
I had an overall great experience during my stay of more than two weeks at Motel one Manchester Royal exchange. The hotel was clean. The breakfast was good and the service was excellent. Special thanks to Ginevra for her top-tier service which made my stay even more enjoyable. Will definitely recommend the hotel to friends and family. Can’t wait to be back!
Staff friendly Room exactly as detailed Bed Comfortable Coffee etc good Excellent location Very good price for central Mcr
Loved our stay at your hotel ..was fantastic from minute we walked in ...although there was a mishap as we booked parking but was told he forgot to reserve it for us and lady said these things happen. Luckily there was a nearby car park we used .
Fantastic stay. Staff really helpful and friendly. Lovely modern hotel. Room good size and very comfortable. Not a great view but not a huge issue as didn't spend much time in the room. Great value for money. Perfect location for everything we wanted to get to everything in walking distance.
Central location, very clean room with a window which actually opened, quite rare in a city centre hotel, breakfast was nice, overall no complaints
Great location very friendly staff comfortable beds no complaints
Very good location, friendly Staff
Lovely hotel, very central. Amazing comfy beds. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh. Will stay here again.
There were various issues when booking for parking, lack of coherent instruction's, I was mislead and made to feel compelled to pay upfront for my stay so I could then access my parking options online. The man on reception who answered my calls the night before my stay was largely unhelpful. I called the next day and a girl on reception processed my parking payment but no instructions of confirmation were sent to me. When receiving the parking fob upon arrival I was given no instructions of buttons to press etc. The girl on reception came across a bit abrasive and disinterested, she found it difficult to established that a payment had been made for my stay. At the night-time I was asked to pay for my parking via reception and a letter was posted through my door, also my key card no longer worked. I had to show proof of payment to reception via my online credit care receipts which was an inconvenience. All in all my experience wasn’t great mainly due to staff behaving unprofessionally and unwelcoming. However, the girl in reception of the morning of my departure was lovely, but in general you appear to have staff issues that I’m certain have and will continue to tarnish the image of what I’ve previously regarding as a quality chain of hotels.
Great location, clean room, comfortable bed, breakfast was really good with non-dairy option with yoghurt. Staff were efficient and welcoming, would definitely stay here again
Excellent can’t fault anything with this hotel , ideally location near the city centre.. Very helpful and friendly hotel staff nothing was to much trouble for them
We had a very professional and polite booking and welcome by Andrea Fernandez and her Team on on 24th April 2025 at noon .
+ Friendly staff, useful lobby space, interesting location, comfortable bed, TV reception works (hello Piccadilly 😕) - Lobby furniture hard-used (esp ‘fur’), printing didn’t work, and the rooms on the alley side: 3m from office building and above glaring security light and restaurant exhaust fan. Location a bit sketchy. If the busy-week price was the regular price it would be poor value, hence the response below. Q. Why mop the floor during a busy breakfast?? Would stay again if other 2 properties were full and ask for a room on the other side.
The staff was very caring and polite. The hotel is very clean. The breakfast was excellent but pricey. The view from 732 was not great and the mattress too hard . The carpet looked a bit grim even if it was clean I'm sure. Overall good experience
High quality facilities, well located and great value
Great location and overall value for money
Hotel was located well, bright, clean and tidy with a good shower. The staff were lovely even though they were very busy. The lifts were slow.

Location and surroundings
Hotel Manchester Royal Exchange
Our Motel One Manchester-Royal Exchange is designed with a trendy faux-industrial look in memory of Manchester’s golden era when it was known as “Cottonopolis”: all about cotton as a raw material and its processing. The foyer is dominated by six-metre high round steel arches and a wall of printed cloth, as a foretaste of our theme. Furniture by Baxter and hanging lamps by Alturo Alvarez are complemented by details such as spools of thread and spinning machines.
The main eye-catcher is a wall installation entitled "Cottonopolis" by paper artist Andy Singleton, composed entirely of shapes cast by innumerable single threads.
Our affordable hotel is situated right opposite the Royal Exchange Theatre in the very heart of Manchester. The Town Hall, Manchester Cathedral, Manchester Arena and the Manchester Central Convention Complex are within walking distance, and both Victoria and Manchester Piccadilly stations are within easy reach.
Visit us in Manchester and find out about the centre of the cotton trade.

Cool Cotton
Classic British furniture, paper sculptures and more will transport you to "Cottonopolis" - 19th century Manchester.

Cutting Edge
Paper artist Andy Singleton has proven a steady hand for Motel One Manchester-Royal.
